The Dreigeist Fortress Alliance Mafia Game

THIS IS HOW WE BLEED
The Dreigeist Fortress Alliance Mafia Game

[The Dreigeist Fortress Alliance is a Team Fortress 2-based roleplaying forum & Steam group, maintained by myself and a few others. The characters in this Mafia game belong to myself, moon-panther, Lil' Dwagie, Skymin, or Dark Shocktail.

The class, team, and base of a character will be listed after their name (the role) for mostly cosmetic purposes, along with a short description of the character.

The roles in this game are mostly basic, though a few are custom, or have been slightly modified. When a player is killed, their role is NOT revealed, just their alliance (Mafia or Innocent). Unless otherwise stated, the Innocents MAY NOT communicate outside the game. We will need at least 14 players.

The methods of death may provide clues into the role of the dead player, if you look carefully...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.]
{THE STORY}
On one of the endless mornings on the separate bases of Fortress, a few members find themselves on a single train heading to the Sawmill base for a conference of skilled members of the company. Some hit it off smoothly, creating friendships, some stay close to the people they already knew, and others just kept to their selves and enjoyed the free time. Once reaching the base, they all load off of the train and find themselves in the center of the base, a large screen set up to face the members. There is a low hum as the screen turns on, to those listening closely they could almost hear a low growl coming from one of the members near the back, revealing the woman in charge of the whole Fortress matter.

"Welcome to our little exercise. It is not every day we get to see such skilled mercenaries, and features, in one place to hold our little conference. Today you will be exploring this base and learning all its secrets and passages, I'm sure at least one of you will learn of it's hidden pathways in due time."

One member steps forward from the group and asks what the conference was about. The woman on the screen smirked at them, taking her cigarette from her mouth and tapping it to let ashes fall.

"Survival. You see, there are members among you that will be trying to kill you each night. These people know whom they are, and I'm sure they already figured the best and most fitting ways to kill each one of you. Have fun. Oh yes, and...there's no Respawn."

The screen went black, the only image of the screen was the reflections of the group before them. Some became worried and huddled close to their friends, some grew unsure if this was real or not, others thought of this as a game, and then there were those that were quite furious at the whole ordeal. A rock was thrown at the screen, shattering the glass. The group turned and looked at the one that tossed it, seeing a Sniper in red glaring at the broken screen.

"Purple wearing She-Devil."

{THE ROLES}

{Mafia}

Les Allard [Reliable Excavation and Demolition / Spy / 2Fort]
Les Allard is the leader of the Mafia, as the oldest, most experienced, and most brutal killer. He has an oddly eerie appearance, even for a Spy; his eyes are red and bear large bags under them, and what little skin that can be seen from under the balaclava is extremely pale. His past is a mystery, the only real clue about his origin the thick French accent he speaks with.

His skills as a Spy make him a deadly and hard to detect foe, and he is able to intimidate the lesser Mafia members; as such, he sends in the orders of who to kill to the GM, and if the Mafia disagrees on who to kill, he gets the final say.

Davey Hammers [Builder's League United / Scout / Thunder Mountain]
A fresh-faced, well groomed young man with wide brown eyes, he quickly found his way up the ranks of the mafia by showing that behind his adorably British mannerisms and indomitably happy aura lurks the heart of a complete monster. No one quite knows where the boy came from. All they know is that he will do or say anything to make someone snap like a twig, all with that sweet smile on his face and a soft childish laugh. He delights in finding disturbingly fitting methods of killing his victims, the look of terror on the onlooker's faces just as rewarding to him as the killing itself.

Davey will take over the command of the Mafia is Les is away or killed, and will communicate with him at night on who to kill.

Aidan McCune [Reliable Excavation and Demolition / Demoman / 2Fort]
Aidan...was a bit of a monster during his stay at 2Fort. He was rash, abusive, and a drunkard, and cruel to his teammates and the other team alike. Despite his cruelty, however, he was a coward, caring more about his own hide than anything else.

Aidan aspires to be part of the Mafia, however, though they do not know of him. He wins with them, and has one secret weapon to help him ensure their victory: He can detonate a player of his choice at any time during the day, though the explosion takes him out as well. If inspected or killed, he will show as Innocent.

{Innocent}

Rufus Croshaw [Builder's League United / Sniper / 2Fort]
Croshaw is a tall, lanky man, with hair tied back in a loose ponytail. He was abandoned by his parents in an orphanage with his older sister when he was a very young child, and separated from her a few years later. The orphanage more than heavily discouraged human contact between the orphans, which left a lasting impression as Croshaw was never adopted out. He was finally kicked out at age 18.

Croshaw is quite skilled at watching people, however. During the night, he may follow one person to watch them and determine their alliance, as either Mafia or Innocent. Some may offer incorrect information, however, which is explained in each role.

Alois Löwe [Builder's League United / Medic / Freelancer]
Alois was trained in the medical arts while part of an underground crime ring in Germany after the war. He is skilled at removing pain from his patients, and was hired by a hospital after the crime ring broke up. He moved to America after receiving an offer from BLU to work for them. He met his wife when serving as a combat Medic.

During the night, Alois may select one player, other than himself, to heal. The heal blocks any attempt at killing targeted at that play for the night. If he selects the say player as Fritz, or Henri when using his Dispenser, the player dies of an overdose.

Fritz Almstedt [Reliable Excavation and Demolition / Medic / Well]
Fritz lost his mother at a young age, shortly after he was born. His father did his best to raise the boy, but he could barely manage to take care of him and Fritz ended up shunted between family members. As he grew, he showed an extreme curiosity for experimentation, preforming gruesome experiments on pets and the neighborhood children. It is unknown how he came to posses a medical license, but he was hired by RED shortly after.

During the night, Fritz may select one player, other than himself, to heal. The heal blocks any attempt at killing targeted at that play for the night. If he selects the say player as Alois, or Henri when using his Dispenser, the player dies of an overdose.

Dingo [Reliable Excavation and Demolition / Sniper / 2Fort]
Dingo was born in Australia. He was found and taken in by the Tribal chief of the area. He has dark brown hair and yellow eyes, usual covered by his sunglasses, and tanned skin from his time back home and has various scars along his body. He is a odd soul at best. He is very laid back and calm, letting thing roll off his back as they come. The few things that can get him riled up and murderous is when someone in harming the people he cares about. Loyal to a fault, he can be easily hurt by those that he cares for if they aren't careful or caught in a act of betrayal.

At the start of the game, Dingo selects one person to be his lover. No matter their previous goals, the aim of the game for them is to be the last two alive. If Dingo or his lover dies at any time, the other will commit suicide out of grief. The two may communicate outside of the game.

Emil Shain [Reliable Excavation and Demolition / Medic / 2Fort]
Emil is quiet and meek most of the time, though he can switch over to his battle-ready side at a moment's notice if the need be. He craves love and attention, and will do anything for one who shows him enough of both. He's a rather small man, with black hair and dark blue eyes, and he usually has large bags under them.

Emil and Jacob share a powerful bond; they rely on each other to keep happy and sane. As such, if Jacob is killed at any time during the game, the same (or following, in the case of a day death) night, Emil will go on a rampage, slaughtering one other player in the name of revenge for his fallen lover.

Jacob Collins [Builder's League United / Soldier / 2Fort]
Loud, aggressive, and often rather violent, Jacob has never been the sanest person around, often finding himself going off onto tangents about the glories of war and occasionally holding conversations with inanimate objects. However, underneath that helmet of his is the blond hair, baby blue eyes, and mind of a child, and though he rarely shows it he has the capacity for both love and loyalty. Now that's quite enough of that sissy stuff. Drop and give him twenty, maggot.

As such, if Emil is killed at any time during the game, the same (or following, in the case of a day death) night, Jacob will go on a rampage, slaughtering one other player in the name of revenge for his fallen lover.

Theodore Gibson [Builder's League United / Engineer / 2Fort]
Theo had a rather unhappy childhood, to say the least. However, in through such abuse, his rather.. odd, fascination lived on, leaving him both quirky and rather unstable. You see, Theo likes...frilly panties. He tries to hide this the best he can, and only sweet little Danny the Scout knows about it.

However, desperate times come to desperate measures. Theo can attract the attention of one player a night, drawing their night action to affect him instead of the intended target.

Ilza Kinnaird [Reliable Excavation and Demolition / Demogirl / Thunder Mountain]
Born in the cradle of Dublin, she was raised by her parents instead of placed in a orphanage after they lose their eldest son in the orphanage due to him running away. Taught how to use explosives at their knee, she became skilled in the art of bombs. After landing a job at RED, she had a accident that rendered one eye "bland", but soon after that she started hearing and seeing the spirit that dwells in her sword. She is a rather calm woman, taking things with stride and likes to poke a bit of fun at her teammates with little nicknames and the like.

The Spirit of the Sword is able to channel the spirit of one who has died already, and use their night action. To do this, Ilza selects a dead player to channel, and a player to target. She will not be told what role she channeled.

{Variable}

Henri Fabre [Builder's League United / Engineer / Thunder Mountain
Henri is Grace's husband, having met and married her before they joined BLU. He's short like most engineers, with stubble and short hair. A defining feature of his is his metal right hand, having lost his natural one in an accident. He was raised in Texas by his Southern father and French mother and earned a scholarship to attend College up north, where he met Grace. He is the father of twin boys.

At the beginning of the game, Henri chooses one of the following machines or weapons to use for the rest of the game. He then has access to that item's ability for the rest of the game and may use it as described below. He may choose weather to join the Innocents or Mafia, and may communicate with Grace outside the game. If he joined the mafia side, he is still identified as Innocent when killed or inspected.

Minisentry: The Minisentry is quick to set up and fires quite fast; perfect for quick defense. If Henri chooses his Minisentry, he may select one player a night to set it up to protect. If the selected player is attacked during the night, via Mafia attack, Emil or Jacob's revenge, or Grace's kill, the attacker is killed instead. It only works once per night, due to running out of bullets quickly, and as such if the target is attacked twice, the second hit succeeds without the attacker dying.

Dispenser: If Henri selects this item, he can set up a Dispenser to heal one player except himself a night. This behaves like a healing from Alois or Fritz; if he selects the same person as one of those two, the patient overdoses and dies.

Teleporter: Teleporters enable someone to move quickly from one point to another' vital in Point Capture. If Henri chooses his Teleporters, he may use them to have a 50/50 chance to avoid any night action targeting him, including doctor heals or Mafia attacks. The Teleporter can only be used every other night however, due to having to recharge.

Guitar: If Henri selects his Guitar, he can choose to play a soothing lullaby on it to put one play of his choosing into a deep slumber. The sleeping player cannot participate in daytime discussion.

Southern Hospitality: This wrench is covered in spikes, and as such causes profuse bleeding. Henri may use this weapon to strike one person during the night, and the target will have to take some time to treat and recover from the seeping wound, which prevents them from preforming their usual night action.

Grace Fabre [Builder's League United / Spy / Thunder Mountain]
Grace is Henri's wife, as well as a member of the same team on the same base. She is a tall, slender woman with curly strawberry blonde hair and hazel coloured eyes, and she dresses quite smartly, like most Spies. She was raised in the northern United States, and her family was quite well off. She met Henri in College, and the two married despite protests from her family. She mothered twin boys by Henri.

She is able to kill one person of her choosing at any time during the night, once during the game, though if her husband Henri is killed, she is granted another kill, though it must be used the night immediately following his death. These kills do not stack. She may communicate with Henri outside of the game, and automatically joins he same side he does. If she joined the mafia side, she is still identified as Innocent when killed or inspected.

{Alien}

Xavier [Builder's League United / Tentaspy / 2Fort]
Born in a lab, Xavier's past was dominated by experiments and tests. Despite this, he is a fairly cheerful person, who loves affection and being with people for long periods of time, despite his inability to stay out of water for too long. He does, however, have a temper, that while hard to draw out, can be deadly...

If he is attacked during the night and not healed by some means, he will fly into a rage and become Activated. Should he be voted for death during the day, he will instead rampage, killing everyone still alive and winning the game. He will show as innocent if inspected in his dormant state, and Mafia if inspected in his active state. He may be killed by a Heal Clash without activation.

Just at least 5 more people and we can get this ball rolling! Bring your friends~ bring your enemies~ bring your...cats. or something.

can Engie use his Minisentry to protect himself?

I realize this may be unfair, so maybe he can only protect himself once every other night, due to a sapper or something?

Unfortunately, Henri may not set up the minisentry to defend himself; he's a support class after all ;3c it's his job to support the other members of his team.

And in other news! Two more and we can start! Come on you guys!

Hrrmm you're right, but as two players of TF2 we know sometimes those sentries aren't for the team.

That and I experimented on engie.

AND NOW WE HAVE 14 PLAYERS

I'll be passing out the Roles via PM now! Check them for your role, and any information you'll need. You have 48 hours to send in night actions, or until I have them all in.
