Fifty-odd years ago in Kanto, a moderately large company, specializing mostly in the production of medicines, released a new product; one that would change the concept of pokémon training forever. They had invented the pokémon canister. Capable of energizing a pokémon at almost three times the speed of the more common apricorn-based constructions, and being easier and marginally cheaper to construct, the canisters were set to rock the very foundations of pokémon training.

Well, they were controversial.

Soon after the public gained knowledge of the product, gangs (or, perhaps, a singular gang) of anti-canister traditionalists have begun mild terrorist attacks that have majorly inconvenienced Garret & Silph, Inc. In order to promote their line of pokécanisters, raise public awareness of their many advantages, and hopefully quell the attacks, the founder has hired a number of teenagers to promote the product as a group, traveling together from major city to major city.

Hey, you guys! Welcome to what I hope will be a pretty okay RP.

Basically, apricorns have been a way of life for centuries, and people surprisingly don't like changing over to this new upstart technology. Most everybody with a pokémon uses one of these babies. But now, what will one day be the poképroduct giant, Silph Co., is in danger of destruction when those who feel their way of life threatened strike like the ekans that is their main symbol.

Just some general...
INFORMATION:​

1. You know how fast the pokécanister in the fourth movie works? Well, apricorn balls work about a third that fast. The light is also goopier and less defined around the edges.

2. Traditional apricorn balls are just hollowed-out, hinged apricorns, which are naturally capable of containing pokémon as energy. Some are coated in substances to increase this ability, like growlithe spit or tree sap. The effectiveness of these are both questionable and hotly-debated.

3. Pokécanisters can't be minimized, and must be unscrewed completely to open. A button is depressed on the bottom in order to recall pokémon into it.

4. Apricorn balls do not prevent further capture of the contained pokémon.

RULES:

1. Be a nice person! Use good roleplaying etiquette. We're all (hopefully) capable of this, but if you're unsure about something just ask.

2. No legendary pokémon whatsoever on your team. Also, no ridiculous legendary interventions in your character's backstory, please.

3. No modern-day technology, including pokéballs, pokédexes, etc. Due to the strange tech levels of the pokémon world, cell phones and stuff are permissible but they'll be exceedingly uncommon and bulky by real-world standards (think 'eighties' for this sort of thing)

4. Use decent spelling and grammar. Please.

5. No Unova pokémon; the PC system hasn't been invented yet and they don't exist in Kanto naturally. Occasional references to them are okay, of course.

6. Try and make your form decently long. It is understood that sometimes you just can't put it into words, but I think everyone prefers a good form that takes two days to one that you slap together to get it over with.

7. All characters should generally be +14 years of age, although if one character is the younger sibling of another it can slide sometimes, depending on how well it's justified.

8. One character per person.

9. No porygon/2/-z, because they haven't been created yet. Also no mewtwo, but that's already quite obvious.

10. Have fun.

Personality: Blaise is a rather quiet and meek person, preferring to listen to conversations instead of talking himself. He'll occasionally interject into others' conversations, though, but only if he feels that he needs to. He talks a lot to his pokémon, though! Otherwise he expresses himself through his doodles. He holds his negative emotions in check, mostly by thought-yelling (or cursing) in his head. He knows that this isn't probably a good way to handle things but doesn't really care.

When he does talk, Blaise absolutely hates being interrupted or otherwise belittled. He'll quickly become angered and very, very unable to speak in complete sentences. It embarrasses him, which is one of the reasons that he doesn't speak much anyway.

Appearance: Bright, curly red hair, like out of a children's book about wizardry, is Blaise's defining feature. He keeps it cropped pretty short to his head. His large eyes are cobalt blue. Blaise's face, arms, and legs are pale and covered with a multitude of freckles. The boy is tall and of average width, with long, thin fingers. He wears simple grey, white, or blue clothing, mostly vests and shorts with lots of pockets. He has a marine blue analog watch on his right arm and he carries around a backpack of the same hue wherever he goes.

Biography: Grew up in Viridian, with the average family and everything. His older brother made a name for himself as a competition winner, and his sister always grew berries and stuff like that. He was the trainer of the family, starstruck with the idea of becoming a Pokemon Master and all that. A few badges in, however, he lost motivation for a while and looked for odd jobs to pass the time. It led his, of course, to the canisters.

Info: Blaise's first pokémon. Impulsive and brash, a good counterbalance to Blaise.

Info: Levelheaded and quite reasonable. Can calm Blaise down easily, although not out of constant practice.

Info: Newest addition to the team. Prone to whining but capable.

Personality: Carter is an angry person. He is against almost anyone that uses Apricorns for containing their pokemon, as his grandfather was also very much against this. Carter was very close with his grandfather, who doesn't seem to have a name, and creates most of his views based upon what his grandfather would say. Not quick to like people, one of his only true friends is Dexter.

Appearance: He wears gray jeans and a white collard shirt, sleeves rolled up to the elbows. Carter is about 5'8" and has wild brown hair. Usually sporting goggles as well, Carter holds up his pants with black suspenders. His eyes are about as colorful as his outfit, as they are also a dull gray. Carter carries his things in a gray messenger bag, usually at his side.

Biography: From a very young age, Carter lived with his grandfather in fuchsia city. Carter's grandfather, who still seems to be nameless, was a master with the poison type. One day, anly a few days before his passing, Carter received a Grimer from his grandfather, whom he called Dexter. This was when Carter was about nine. A few days later, his grandfather died, so Carter and Dexter were sent to live in Celedon, just up the way. He has lived there ever since. (there will be stuff on why he's mad all the time, but)

Info: Dexter is Carter's first ever pokemon, which he recieved from his grandfather.

(Amelia) Fearow (Female)

Info: Amelia was an easy capture for Carter and Dex, and she is one of Carter's most loyal pokemon, along with his team's second in command.

(Hugo) Hypno (Male)

Info: hugo, Carter's third pokemon, is in charge of punch-based moves, and the mastery of sleep abusing.

(El Toro) Tauros (Male)

Info: El Toro actually isn't Carter's pokemon, technically. Receiving him from dubious actions that shall not be mentioned, El Toro isn't very fond of Carter, and often disobeys.

Personality: Around more aggressive people, Arylett takes a passive role. But around more passive people, she'll take a more aggressive stance. Her personality revolves around avoiding people and seeing if they are "threatening." If a person is not deemed threatening, she will tend to exert her will upon them and act more like the leader of their relationship. She will say opinions freely to these people, albeit not bluntly. If she is particularly close to them too, she will tend to act kindly and warmly towards them, giving them her undivided attention and affection.

This is rare, however, as most people are more aggressive than Arylett. She is in general a passive person, especially around strangers. She has extreme bouts of shyness and anxiety, and does not talk so much. Most of the time, she hides her intense anxiety around such people, and attempts to take on a casual, calm demeanor around them, forcing herself to make eye contact.

Her passive demeanor though hides a very emotional and completely irrational nature within. If pushed enough, she will show her extremely vicious and fiery temper. But this usually takes a lot, as Arylett tends to be a patient person in most cases.

Appearance: In terms of body, is very short at around 5 feet tall, has tannish skin, and long dark brown curly hair and dark brown eyes. The hair is usually quite frizzy, and her most recognizable feature. In terms of clothing and accessories, she wears glasses on her eyes, a white tanktop with red symbols on it, a red long overshirt over that, and red pants with a black belt holding them up. She also wears a black, polka-dotted scarf, a golden neck with a small ruby on it, and sandals. Lastly, she usually carries around an overlarge red-and-white purse slung around her shoulder. Biography: She was born in Johto, in Goldenrod City, and moved to Kanto quite recently, only two years ago to Viridian City. A normal and standard childhood... minus the fact that she was extremely sheltered and coddled by her parents to the point of gaining her signature anxiety of new things.

The idea of traveling out alone, being guarded by nothing more than a few creatures through various terrains was a frightening thought to her. She had managed to capture a very small amount of Pokémon around Goldenrod before coming to Kanto, training and taking care of them within the boundaries of the city and its nearby routes, but never actually went on a journey of her own. Of course, eventually, her parents got sick of her staying at home and urged her to get a job. And so, she got a job with the Pokécanisters.

(Novale) Growlithe (Male)
Info: Arylett's first and favourite Pokémon. She had always wanted a Growlithe since she was young. Arylett has a tendency to immediately turn into a girly mess of squealing whenever he does something cute. Very impulsive and protective of his trainer.

(Roxanne) Nidorina (Female)
Info: Captured near Goldenrod. Roxanne is quite sly, but also intelligent. She tends to be one of Arylett's calmer Pokémon.

(Flarrai) Pidgeotto (Female)
Info: Her only Pokémon caught in Kanto. Hyperactive and often bounces all over the walls. Naturally, Arylett finds it a bit stressful to control her.

Other: I like my self-inserts, man, daha.

Dislikes: Bikes, bikers, being woken up early by his sister.

Personality: Cheery, upbeat, and carefree, Chris is a person who makes it almost impossible to not smile. He always has a joke for the situation, and is ready to think up more at a moment's notice. He even acts carefree in battle, but that's because he has a secret battle plan of some sort.

Appearance: Chris wears grey three-quarter length trousers and a camoflauge shirt, covered by a black fleece. He wears a grey and white trilby hat on his head. He is tanned, a result of living in Hoenn before immigrating. He also wears brown hiking boots, giving him an odd appearance. His hair is a dusty blond and his eyes are greenish brown.

Biography: Born and raised in Hoenn, Chris lived in the small town of Rustboro, where he graduated as Dux from his primary school, before moving to Kanto aged twelve. He did very little traveling in Hoenn and decided that he would travel in Kanto. He had journied with his younger sister, but she broke her arm and was sent home, whilst Chris moved on to Garret and Silph, helping them advertise their newest product.

The first Pokemon Chris caught in Kanto, Buzzy is easily confused and often fails to see the point of Chris' actions until they take effect.

Jess - Clefairy - Female
Chris caught Jess because she reminded him of his sister with the same name. She is a suprisingly competent battler.

Personality: A sociable teen who is extremely talkative and humourous. Travis is as impatient as he is hungry, as he is known by his friends to stuff his stomach before anyone can chew a crumb. Despite his usual optimistic attitude, the 17-yeaar-old is quick to defend his friends in an arguement although he is truthfully resentful towards arguing.

Appearance: He has a buzz cut coloured with a blonde shade. Travis has a light tan skin tone and a smile that blinds all. Toned blue his eyes are, and he often wears plain coloured shirts, usually being either black, grey, or white. His casual wear is either black skinny jeans or black or grey basketball shorts for warmer weather. He is in shape, with visible muscles when flexed. He hates socks. He is tall, about 6'1" to be exact.

Biography: Born and raised in the bustling city og Goldenrod City, this child was usually traveling around the city (and eventually the region) with his mother who was a reporter at the time. With his father passed away on his second year of living, the duo isolated themselves to the quiet town of Lavender. However, his mother eventually recovered and began working as a business woman in Saffron City. As he has still not recovered from his father's passing, he was then still very solitary and isolated himself. Because of these emotions, he often spent time in hotels in Saffron away from his mother to plain think. Eventually, while at a roulette, he met a couple guys and girls (whom he actually does not know; they parted after that one night) who opened his heart, converting him into the humourous person he is today. Travis can still be very emotional about his past life and usually refuses to speak of it with anyone.

Vasko - Drapion - Male
Left to by his father in his will (His father is native to Sinnoh). Vasko is rather old and becomes tired easily when in battle. To counter this weakness, he has a wide arrangement of powerful attacks. Vasko often becomes involved in fights with Clyde over everyday things such as food, where to go, etc.

Glace - Glaceon - Female
Obtained as an Eevee in a gambling match, glace had an unusual evolution occuring when exposed to a NeverMeltIce (Hey, I need an excuse!). She is logical and the peacemaker of the group, but she herself has a short temper. A quick battler who prefers to confuse opponents with extreme celerity and a powerful sneak attack.

Clyde - Granbull - Male
Clyde is shiny. A unique feature of his is a puff of hair spotted between his ears. Clyde often resists his realization of his crush on Glace. To let his emotions out, he usually becomes involved with Vasko in arguments. How he was obtained, not even Travis knows, as after being knocked out at a casino, its PokeBall was sitting next to him under a craps table.

Other: Because of his constant acts of humour, he often slaps people to break tension during either awkward moments or whenever he is given the "silent treatment." He is heterosexual, as he has had no curiousity for any other sexuality in his years of living. Actually, he is quite exceptional at playing Poker. Travis can eat anything anything and not get fat. His mother actually worked up the ranks, they are on the bring of "rich", so he has access to many things modern people would not have.

Appearance: He wears gray jeans and a white collard shirt, sleeves rolled up to the elbows. Carter is about 5'8" and has wild brown hair. Usually sporting goggles as well, Carter holds up his pants with black suspenders. His eyes are about as colorful as his outfit, as they are also a dull gray. Carter carries his things in a gray messenger bag, usually at his side.

Biography: From a very young age, Carter lived with his grandfather in fuchsia city. Carter's grandfather, who still seems to be nameless, was a master with the poison type. One day, anly a few days before his passing, Carter received a Grimer from his grandfather, whom he called Dexter. This was when Carter was about nine. A few days later, his grandfather died, so Carter and Dexter were sent to live in Celedon, just up the way. He has lived there ever since. (there will be stuff on why he's mad all the time, but)

Info: Dexter is Carter's first ever pokemon, which he recieved from his grandfather.

Info: Amelia was an easy capture for Carter and Dex, and she is one of Carter's most loyal pokemon, along with his team's second in command.

(Hugo) Hypno (Male)

Info: hugo, Carter's third pokemon, is in charge of punch-based moves, and the mastery of sleep abusing.

(El Toro) Tauros (Male)

Info: El Toro actually isn't Carter's pokemon, technically. Receiving him from dubious actions that shall not be mentioned, El Toro isn't very fond of Carter, and often disobeys.

Name: Aida Marie Kesler
Age: 17
Likes: Competitive battling, martial arts, the color white, being awesome
Dislikes: Contests, whining, lazy people, the color blue, racism and ignorance

Personality: On the outside, Aida keeps a calm and cool disposition, rarely reacting to anything or just answering people with a simple "cool" or "oh". However, once she gets into battle mode, she becomes a completely different person and starts acting up. She becomes very energetic when fighting and tends to yell and scream a lot, usually whooping an hollering if she wins or groaning and moaning if she looses. She is also somewhat smarter than others her age, and is very mature. She doesn't take kindly to immature younger people.

Appearance: Aida has very, very short strawberry-blonde pixie-styled hair, and is considered very masculine-looking. This has prevented her from getting very many boyfriends, and many people often label her as the stereotypical butch lesbian. She's Caucasian and has very pale, almost translucent skin. Her eyes are very strange, as they are blue with a brown dots scattered about the iris.

Aida's clothes are a simple brown tee-shirt with a white scary-looking Primeape as the design and holey jeans. She often walks around barefoot, though will wears light brown boots if she has to. She also has braces and bands, and wears almost no jewelry except for a belly-button ring.

Biography: Raised by a rowdy and gypsy-like family, she was born literally in a mobile home while her father was driving around the region. She's been on the go her entire life and was homeschooled from an early age. She was a distant child growing up, having no firends and only an immense family, being the second-oldest out of seven siblings. Most of her siblings were adopted, and she and her oldest brother are the only biological children of their parents.

Aida got Outie for her thirteenth birthday, when he was just a Tyrogue. Outie became her first and only friend, someone who would actually listen to her and follow her around. When she was fourteen, Outie evolved, and started realizing that she had strange feelings toward her Hitmonchan. It was then that she started to have a Pokephilliac relationship with her first Pokemon, much to her father's disappointment, as he was a preacher and devout believer in the God. Her mother didn't really care, as she just wanted her daughter to be happy, though her father 'freaked out', and Aida ran away the same night. She still writes to her mother, but not very often.

Info: Outie was Aida's first Pokemon, and he has a very, er, strange relationship with her. He is very protective and loyal to her, always following orders and often giving other people wary glares. Also very jealous when Aida hangs out with other male humans or Pokemon.

(Faline) Stantler (female)
Info: Aida traded an old Chansey she had caught for Faline a while back, when she was around sixteen. Faline has gotten used to Aida, but still will disobey commands sometimes or act out against her.
