[Open]The Sundering of the World[OOC]

Reports flooded in from Kanto. Strange green meteors striking various cities. Large, flaming stone beings, roughly 12 feet tall, emerging and razing all in their path for a brief moment before collapsing suddenly into a mere pile of black rocks.

It didn't end there, though, as hordes of otherworldly beings emerged from underneath the Celadon Game Corner. They were ruthlessly cruel warriors, red-skinned, wielding axes and swords. Of course, for a world which has barely known war, the demons overwhelmed the mortals, though a valiant fight was put up by trainers and their Pokemon.

However powerful Pokemon proved to be fighting the demons, they were overtaken by sheer numbers, with more and more flooding into the world.

Meanwhile, in Lavender Town, Pokemon Tower rattled. Graves stirred. And finally, the rotten remains of deceased Pokemon arose from their burial sites and began attacking anything within sight. They were much easier to fight than the demons, after all these were still Pokemon. However, trainers ran into a problem, each loss simply added to the enemy's ranks.

Eventually, warlocks arrived and added their demonic magicks to the fight. The Burning Legion gained ground. Most disturbing, though, were reports of Team Rocket members siding with the invading hordes. Some of their Pokemon wielded powers far beyond those of normal ones, demonically charged. Some turned out to be warlocks themselves. And others were simply blinded by promises of power.

As Kanto fell, the cities of Johto began an evacuation of their populations. As they fled, however, a threat emerged in Mahogany Town. A portal emerged within the town. Through it arrived a race of similarly red-skinned warriors, though of a different breed. Orcs. They cut through any resistance and tore their way across the continent. The Lake of Rage swirled and bubbled. It's waters slowly became colored red. The Gyarados of the lake were observed to possess green eyes and proved unnaturally powerful, even for Gyarados. People and Pokemon swimming in the lake at the time developed similarly glowing green eyes and became uncontrollably angry and strong.

People from both regions piled onto anything seaworthy at the major ports. They sailed south, towards Hoenn, seeking safe haven. The majority arrived at Slateport, Hoenn's major harbor, and were put up in camps.

Now that they saw the full might of what they faced, the cities of Hoenn sent out calls to any trainers. They were asked to convene in Slateport, where a plan might be devised to try and land on Johto or Kanto's shores and hopefully regain ground from the Legion.

The Burning Legion, however, has other plans. They are biding their time, infiltrating Hoenn to soften the humans before the full invasion. Unknown to the humans, their agents are scattered across the land, subverting and manipulating the locals and slowly corrupting humans and Pokemon alike.

Worst of all, the legendary Pokemon are nowhere to be found...

After three failed invasions of Azeroth, the Burning Legion has discovered another planet to invade, the Pokemon world. Though they have found initial success, humanity and Pokemonkind are both beginning to get their act together.

People from all walks of life (assuming they haven't fallen under the Legion's influence) have come together with their Pokemon to defend this world. Refugees from Johto and Kanto have joined natives of Hoenn in preparing for what they hope is a counter attack on the Legion. While they might have personal motivations, everyone ultimately has the same goal, to prevent the scouring of all life on the Pokemon world.

- Bad grammar is inexcusable. Everyone on this forum expects it.
- And all the other typical expected etiquette applies, read this if you don't know what that entails.
- For convenience's sake, Pokemon characters can talk with people.
- If you read my lengthy introduction, you can probably guess that you can't have legendaries on your team.
- You can have two characters, but please only one trainer per person (subject to change).

Name: Tobias Akarou

Gender: Male

Appearance: A tall, pale man with dark-colored hair. His clothing of choice is always very "high-class": A dark grey, almost black long-coat, with similar colored pants and wide-brimmed hat. Besides that, he constantly wears a pair of white gloves, a blood-red tie, and his eyes are a similar colored red - this is the only sign of his "corruption"

Personality: You could describe this man as a result of what happens when a pokemon Trainer decides to take a Darwinist outlook on life. His mantra is "those who bring the greatest of battles are the ones that deserve to live," and he applied this to his fights even in his earliest trainer's years. He's applied it even now to the invasion of the legion; it is his genuine belief that the trainers are not capable of defending themselves, and will be wiped out in the face of this new force. He enjoys his fights and pulls no punches to push the abilities of both himself and his opponents to the limit. If he finds a fight dissatisfying, however, there's a chance that he will forfeit the match, or will drag it out a little further to see if their is some hope for a satisfying victory.

Homeland: Unova

Occupation: Former trainer. Nowadays, the Legion use him as an assassin

Background: As mentioned before, Tobias believed very near the beginning in the idea that only the strongest and most battle-loving trainers were fit to survive in the world. When he first received the Venipede, at the age of twelve, there was a time when he genuinely thought that the insect would not survive in this world - that changed when he saw how violent of a fight it put up against a Pawniard that he encountered. From there, four years passed Tobias traveled Unova, catching that same Pawniard, along with a Tynamo, and a Golett. Those other two were gifts from opponents that agreed with his demeanor, and gave him a Cover fossil and a Larvesta egg, respectively (though to this day, those two have been the only people that ever agreed with him). Once he had fully evolved and sufficiently readied this team, he challenged the Pokemon League, as any other trainer would.

Tobias lost that day, but by choice. He was so utterly disgusted by how big of a disappointment the Champion was in battle - the Champ's first pokemon went down in a single attack that he didn't expect would KO it - that he forfeited the match. After that day, Tobias traveled all of the world, challenging any opponent that he found worthwhile, and thoroughly trouncing any opponent that he considered a waste of his time. His underhanded methods, along with his tendency to go completely relentless in any battle, earned him the nickname "Jackal," and any trainer that was forced to fight him in a tournament dreaded the thought. This went on for the next eighteen years, during which point his entire team reached high levels, and his beliefs never wavered.

When the invasion occurred, those that knew Tobias thought - even hoped - that he would stand against the Legion, and in doing so, would be a powerful fighting force for the humans. This didn't happen - in realizing that the Legion would overpower the humans easily, Tobias decided that he would fight on the newer side. Finding the nearest Legion members, he willingly submitted to their corruption, and in doing so retained his entire personality.

Well, most. The corruption has slowly been making him more savage, as in he'll attack humans during a battle, not just pokemon. What effect, if any, that this will have on his outlook remains to be seen

Appearance: Jericoh is tall, and wears khaki pants along with a white T-shirt and a matching khaki vest with lots of pouches. He keeps his unruly brown hair underneath a pith helmet. His glasses are usually around his neck, but he puts them on to examine things more closely.
Personality: A little awkward socially, Jericoh chose to be an archaeologist so he wouldn't have to deal with people. Well, living people. Jericoh is intelligent, and often curious.
Homeland: Hoenn
Occupation: Archaeologist and Pokemon Trainer
Background: Born in Lavaridge Town, Jericoh spent much of his childhood in the Route 111 desert. Always intrigued by the curious structure left behind, Jericoh quickly found his passion was the past.

[Veris] Veris was once a fossil that Jericoh found in his explorations. Now one of his best pokemon, Veris has no application to Jericoh's job other than brute force.

[Bes] Mainly for wild pokemon protection, Bes also assists Jericoh by moving certain things with its mind powers.

[Karactus] Karactus is Jericoh's friend, mostly. She doesn't get a lot of training.

[Scarab] Caught in the Safari zone, Scarab helps Jericoh break through walls and destroying other forms of obstacles.

Name: Axe

Race/Species: Fraxure

Age: 13 Pokemon years

Gender: Female

Appearance: . That would be the appearance of a Fraxure, but Axe's tusks are slightly smaller.

Personality: Axe is irritable and argumentative - not only that, but she'll hold fast to her opinions and beliefs until she is forced against a wall and practically attacked for not changing her mind. She'll keep her beliefs until all evidence possible is thrown against her and no evidence she can provide will support her mind. She is very persistent and likes to physically spar as well. She mainly prefers physical attacks to special attacks and will use non-attacking moves only if she thinks they'll be a good help against her opponent. With her solitary nature, she's not inclined to making new friends and doesn't like striking up conversation or asking questions. If there's someone she already knows, though, she'll stand doing things or working on projects with them if it doesn't involve too much interaction.

Homeland: Johto

Occupation: In summary, she was a solitary Pokemon in Dark Cave but managed to arrive in Slateport fairly well considering how little she knew (or cared) of humans.

Background: Axe has lived her whole life in Dark Cave, resulting in her eyes taking time to adjust to bright light and lowering the quality of her overall vision. Axe has a weak right eye and cannot usually focus on any one object unless she closes one eye or turns her head to the side. She's always had an independent nature, so as soon as she was able to watch out for herself around 12 years old, she struck out on her own. Around this time, she took a dislike to humans, although she wouldn't attack them on sight. She mainly disrespects them because they develop the world with their machines and not enough of them pay a lot of attention to the world around them. Normally she wouldn't see much of what happened outside, but it was easy to detect the troubles going on with the Orcs and such. When she saw what was going on with the Pokemon world, she was able to smuggle herself onto a ship to Slateport. She snuck in posing as a Trainer's Pokemon, and she didn't really like acting as if she was friends with a human, but as soon as she was given the chance she hid herself as far from the humans as she could be while still trying to stay close to the outside. Axe doesn't get seasick, but she likes being outside, especially near water. As long as she doesn't get soaked, she's fine.

Axe stayed on the boat for as long as it took to get to Hoenn. Multiple times she tried to eat something in reach, but she only succeeded once, and thus was hungry for most of the ride. As soon as she arrived in Slateport, though, it was hard to get any food, so she'll start this roleplay without having eaten for two days.

Gender: Male
Appearance: Hunter has straight, black hair with a streak of red running along the side that is a bit longer than your average buzz cut. He has a light shade of tan as his skin tone and has a set of two green eyes that sparkle on the darkest days. He is built, as you can see his muscles when flexed. Hunter has no facial hair whatsoever and is quite tall, as he is currently 6'1''. His casual wear is usually a black, no-sleeve shirt and some red basketball shorts. On colder days, he wears a gray and black striped jacket along with black jeans. Additionally, he wears no socks and black shoes.
Personality: Hunter is your average, plain, constant-sighing guy that always has something negative to say. However, Hunter will not hesitate to laugh, though his laughs usually come off as creepy. Changing his attitude is a problem, unless you're a close friend of his. He loves being pessimistic around optimistic people. Despite all this, he can still be a humourous person, but Hunter rarely shows this to anyone. All in all, the guy isn't that bad, but he is usually set to his mood in a situation, it usually being pessimistic, serious, or creepily content.
Homeland: He is a native of the Hoenn region.
Occupation: Though his brother left on a journey to become a "Pokemon Master," Hunter has never been into that sort of thing. He just likes traveling and viewing great sites with his few Pokemon. In spite of this, he just worked at Mossdeep's Space Center as a front desk clerk. He was not highly paid, he hated his job, and everyone hated him. Simple as that.
Background: Hunter was born in Hoenn and only had two years to enjoy the life he had; his brother left on his journey and his father perished in a mining accident. He has only seen his brother once since his departure, though that occasion assured the two would never cross paths again. Hunter, though pessimistic, usually was a go-with-the-flow type of guy, following anything that was a coincidence or pleasure for him. His mother works 16 hours a day, so Hunter mainly bonds with his few Pokemon. However, Hunter has only battled a trainer once, and that battle was against his brother. Although his brother had trianed immensely, he was no match to Hunter's strategy. He lost and personally told Hunter they would never meet.

Aju (Manectric) - F
Captured as an Electrike, Hunter and Aju are almost like twins; Aju loves to be creepily sarcastic. With a strong variety of moves and a speed unseen by most, Aju is an excellent battler, usually being Hunter's first choice.

D.J. (Umbreon) - M
A lonely Eevee, Hunter quickly befriended it and soon captured it as well, only for it to evolve that night when walking back home. Though having been befriended by Hunter, D.J. still prefers solitude in almost all of his activites. This Umbreon practically resembles unter's serious and thoughtful side.

Drake (Dragonite) - M
Originally captured to help Hunter travel around the region, Drake backfired that plan. Though Hunter's vigorous training allowed Drake to evolve quickly, Drake has transformed into the exact opposite of Hunter's expectations. Loquacious, eager, and humourous all describe Drake's peculiar personality. Because of these attributes, Drake often annoys the other members of the team due to their different attitudes.

Personality: Carefree and energetic, Hilao is prone to cold, sarcastic streaks lasting from hours to weeks.

Background: A reborn Elemental. Born and raised by parents in the town of Fortreee, Hilao headed to Slateport to see why his regular training partner, Wionna's Alteria, had suddenly stopped training with him, and what the big fuss about demons was.

Name: Rosaleen Lily Varens

Age: Veinticinco.

Gender: Female

Appearance: Rosaleen is a very homely looking woman, with long brown hair and hazel eyes. She's very pale and skinny, as well. She wears a long-sleeved black shirt with a tiny hole in the left shoulder and skinny jeans. Her shoes are covered by light brown boots. She wears black eyeliner and grey eyeshadow along with a silver necklace with a Noctowl pendant.

Personality: Rosaleen is always doubting herself and thinks she has to be whatever she isn't. She strives to be the best and everything, and is a bit of a perfectionist. However, she is very friendly and a very good worker and trainer, since she puts a lot of effort into what she does. She enjoys simple things like tea, eating, and relaxing with her students and Pokemon. She 'falls in love' very easily.

Homeland: Unova

Occupation: A worker at the Day Care on Route 3 in Unova, she specializes in taking care of the 'special needs' children. She once was a traveling trainer when she was younger and has a badge to prove it.

Background: Rosaleen's parents died when she was young. She was adopted by her mother's brother as an infant, though he too passed away before she was barely two years old. She was raised by her abusive aunt and cousins, and her daily ritual as waking up, making dinner, getting her female cousins dressed, and then having a book thrown at her when she messed something up. She left home to move into a house along Route 3, and became a teacher at the local Day Care when she was eighteen. Ever since then she's been enjoying her job and life. She was once engaged, as well, though was stood up on her wedding day and ever since has been strange when it comes to relationships.

After coming to Hoenn for a vacation, she was mistaken to be one of the Kanto/Johto citizens that were attacked and has been living in a tent with her three Pokemon.

Pokemon Owned:
[Powderpuff, female] Rosaleen's first and favorite Pokemon, she loves her dearly and enjoy spending time with her. Powderpuff is very quirky and friendly as well, and is somewhat hyper.

[Tutty, female] Tutty is the bravest of Rosaleen's Pokemon, and is very brash and violent. She's not afraid to go against orders or ignore what Rosaleen says. However, she is somewhat of a clown and likes to play cruel tricks.

[Shelly, female] The weakest one of the team. When Rosaleen caught her, she hoped she wouldn't get a useless Pokemon. Unfortunately, she did. Now she's stuck with her, and she tries to be as nice as she can to her, though her dislike for her shows very often. Shelly is very relaxed and cool, never getting worked up about anything. She's quite lazy as well. One of her strong points though is that even though her attacks aren't strong, she can withstand powerful attacks.

Gender: Male

Appearance: He is more of a light-purple color with pink spots, though other than that he is quite normal-looking. He also wears a sack on a string on his neck, and something is inside of the sack. He has no idea what it is, though it's a gift from his partner.

Personality: Owens is like any other Nidorino. Territorial, fierce, and aggressive. Though he is nothing but independent. That's probably why he gets so attached to other Pokemon, as he is now with Axe. He follows her around, though their personalities clash, her being solitary and all, but she's the only one who he feels he can hang out with.

Homeland: Oblivia

Occupation: A Pokemon Ranger's partner Pokemon, though now alone.

Background: Owens has been a partner Pokemon for as long as he can remember. His partner, Zach and him were on their way to Hoenn when they were separated in the confusion of everyone traveling together. They both boarded different boats, and even though they were heading to the same place, they have not found each other yet.

Other: If it's alright with Mad MOAI, he likes to follow around and hang out with Axe.

Mad MOAI and Cheatmaster: Looks good.

Sweetie Belle: I would like an explanation as to how and why she went to Hoenn. You're lucky I can count in Italian. Sort of.

Appearance: however, Carrion has scars, and his right claw is larger than usual.

Personality: Carrion is rude and tough. However, his priorities are straight, and is willing to help the people. He is determined not to enjoy it, though. As it is, Carrion is only 50/50 on helping them. All of them complaining about "the end of the world" and how "they're all going to die" isn't helping their case, either.

Occupation:... he's a bully.

Background: Carrion was picked on as a Corphish. Badly. All of his rage built up one day, and forced him to evolve into what he is now. Carrion also isn't particularly into humans in general because they never helped him in his times of need.
