• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

[PHP] Syncing main site and forum

As part of a revamp I'm enacting at my site, I'm introducing a few new features. What I want to do though is have them as interactive and user-based, and it just seems clumsy to have to sign up to the forum and sign up to the site separately. So I was wondering if any of you could give me any pointers for how to effectively sync the main site and the forum. I'm using MyBB for the forum, btw.

Thanks a lot!

have the site look things up on the same tables as the forums do?

depending on how well mybb's internals are documented, this might be something of a pain, but certainly easier than having the forums look stuff up on the site's tables.

If they're on the same domain, then a user will automatically be logged in on both.
