Arena: Rainwater Crater
The battle will take place in the crater of a volcano that had become inactive and ended up filling up with rainwater. However, this crater is very small, so it only provides room for baby and basic-stage Pokemon to battle comfortably. As stated, it is filled with water, but there is a small island in the middle and large trees, whose roots are entangled among each other, grow from the murky water. The island, by the way, is floating, so if a swimming Pokemon dives, he/she will see that there is lots of empty space underwater (except for near the mountain's walls, where the trees' roots are), with moss-covered rocks at the very bottom. The battle may progress to the outside of the mountain, should any Pokemon able to fly or float choose to move to a roomier space. However, this leaves you more vulnerable to the attacks of the Pidgey, Taillow, and Starly. Each round, there is a 10% chance that, for one action, a flock of bird Pokemon may fly by overhead and "release their droppings" onto the battling Pokemon below. Somehow these droppings always land in a Pokemon's face, which may deal 1-2% damage, depending on where exactly the droppings land (such as in a Pokemon's eye (ewww...)) and how sturdily built the Pokemon's face is. For example, a Shieldon will take less damage than a Clefairy. This will also decrease a Pokemon's accuracy by 1.


.:Pre-Battle:.

Within an inactive volcano, rain water gathered to make a small lake with a single speck of an island in the center. The Ref sits on the crater wall with a pair of binoculars and an umbrella so she didn’t get covered in bird droppings. She then spots two trainers appear in the crater and send out their pokemon. She sees that both trainers send out two pokemon each. The ref gulps and hopes that she can ref her first double team battle perfectly. All four pokemon stand on the island, an Eevee and Dratini on one side, and Swablu and Shinx on the other.

:Round One:

Blade nods at his commands and runs forward towards Swablu and kicks up the sand on the island into the bird’s face. Princess shakes her head from side to side, trying to get the sand out of her eyes with no success. Glaring at the pesky Eevee she starts to generate a light green barrier, surrounding both her and Shimmer within the boundary of the barrier. As Princess finishes her first command, Wing opens her mouth and emits a high pitched noise directed at Shimmer, but to her surprise, Shimmer stands unfazed by the attack due to the Safeguard that her follow team mate created. The Shinx can’t help but grin at the Dratini’s failed attempt to harm her but knows that she has to get back to work and not continue to be smug towards the opponents. She walks towards Blade, replacing her smug smirk with a sweet smile and doing a subtle hip swing with approaching the poor Eevee. She whispers into the Eevee’s ear about how she finds his fur coat soft and well kept, and how she can’t help but find his deep eyes enthralling and beautiful. Blade lowers his head and chuckles softly, a blush showing through his brown fur.

Blade watches his new sweetie walk back to her teammate, hearts floating in the air around her. As he sits there in awe and love, Ruieko slaps her forehead and shouts out his commands for a second time. Blade jumps up from her voice and remembers what he must do. He whispers an apology to his sweetie pie and runs over to her. He runs right up to her and smacks her with his tail then runs back to Wing’s side. Princess laughs at the baffled Shimmer, teasing her on how her new lover boy just bopped her with his tail. Shimmer just scowls at her and tells her to attack already. After a few moments of bickering, Princess sighs and starts to gather poisons and impurities within herself and flies over to Blade, purging herself of the impurities onto the Eevee’s head. Blade shutters, covered in deep purple goo, a slight pain hurting where the goo hit. Wing shakes her head and sighs, telling the Eevee that he should try to wash that off later before it gets worse, but not to worry about the Swablu for much longer. Wing starts to concentrate on dropping her body heat and collecting the innate coldness within her, focusing it into a single beam of icy fury that is shot towards the poisoning Swablu. Princess squeaks loudly as she is thrown back by the beam of ice, shivering from the sheer cold of it. She silently thanks the Poke’gods that her Safeguard worked in the first round so that she can’t get frozen. Shimmer glances at her team mate, an un-nerved look on her face. She calls back to Princess that she’ll get the nasty Dratini. She bolts forward towards Wing, charging herself on the run with the static electricity in the air around her. She brushes up against Wing as she passes her and returns back to her friend. Wing growls, her muscles getting very stiff from the attack.

Blade glances at his partner and mutters a few kind words of how his sweetie didn’t mean to be so mean to them, of how his Shimmer is the gentlest creature around. As he continues this tangent, Wings giving him the “Are you out of your mind” look, Ruieko shouts out his last order, but to her distress it falls on deaf ears for Blade is too wrapped up in telling Wing that Shimmer is the most amazing creature among this green planet, shuttering ever so often from the pain of the poison. Princess laughs at the scene before her. The silly Eevee, so hung up on Shimmer, but Blade wasn’t her target this time but the paralyzed Wing. Princess closes her eyes and calls up the hidden force of her Altaria parents within her, collecting it into a ball in the pit of her stomach. Once the force got too much for the clouded bird, she releases it, a purple pulse spreading outward on the field. Blade jumped up over the pulse and Shimmer ducked down low, but Wing wasn’t as fast as she could be and was hit square in the chest with the attack. Wing was flung back on the island, taking her time to try to right herself. While Wing tried to do that, Shimmer took this chance to attack. She runs forward towards the Eevee, whom was still talking about how much he adored Shimmer and slams into him, sending a current of electricity into his body. She then backs off and returns to her partner’s side, a smug smirk on her face. Wing growls as she finally gets up, hissing as her muscles ache. Ignoring the stiffness, she drops her temperature once more and creates a beam of ice, aiming at the Swablu once more. Princess flays to the ground from the attack, shivering for the cold once more.

The pokemon look at their repective trainers and nod, each glaring down their opponents on the other side of the field. Blade giggles a bit, winking at his sweetpie. He dashes with all his speed towards Shimmer, giggling madly as he does. Shimmer steps back a bit, trying to quickly charge himself up for her attack but failed when Blade start started to tickle her belly with his tail. Shimmer squirms on the ground, trying not to laugh as the Eevee tickles her mercilessly. Blade finally falls back at bit, letting Shimmer breath after tickling the breath out of her. He then shiver a bit from the purple gunk that sunk into his skin earlier. Shimmer gets back to her feet, a giving Blade a quick glare, This will not stand.

Maia snickers at her partner, settling down on the ground. She makes herself comfortable and starts to relax, feeling her energy slowly return to her system. As she chills out a bit, Wing on the other side of the field shakes a bit to loosen herself up a bit. Wing’s skin starts to itch, causing her much discomfort. She wiggles around, slowly sheading her old skin and the problems away with it. After her skin was off, she felt much better than before. She then remember her trainer’s orders and starts to dance elegantly, her body twisting in tune to a song she hummed to herself. After she danced, she opened her eyes, a feeling of strength and better mobility making her smile peacefully to herself. Her eyes rest back onto her opponents, a new gleam in her eyes.


Blade skips back over to Shimmer, nuzzling up to her. He starts to comment on how beautiful her fur looked in the sunlight filtering from above, about how her eyes sparkle when she smiled. He curls his tail around the now flattered Shinx, telling her that she too beautiful to fight in such a place as this where birds fly over by to drop their droppings on all of them. Shimmer backs away a bit from him, telling him that she had something to do at the moment. Blade smiles as he watches her walk off, shivering a bit from the poison in his body. He glares at Wing, vowing to have revenge on the bird for doing this to him.

Shimmer ran over to her team mate, going over the battle plan for this round. After a brief briefing, Maia closes her eyes and once again forces her body to drop it’s temperature. All the icy energy within her body is then condenced a ball in the back of her throat. She opens her mouth and shots a beam of frozen energy at Wing, knocking over onto her back. Wing slithers back into a standing position, hissing back at the two schemers. She shakes the ice on her body before it could cause her more problems in the future, she then glared at Shimmer and starts to gather icy energy within her self as well. She aims a beam of frozen energy of her own at Shimmer, knocking her clear off her feet. Shimmer gets back to her feet and growls, her eyes into deadly slits. Shimmer bolts over to Wing, summoning the toxins within her body and gathering them into the back of her throat. She runs at Wing’s left side, only to fake her out by darting to her right and spew the purple ooze onto her. Shimmer falls back, glaring back at Wing with a smirk. Wing shakes, trying to get the gunk off of her as best as she could, feeling it sinking into her body already. She lets out a low hiss, glaring at two before her.


Blade lies on the ground, his heart pounding loudly in his ears. Though Shimmer badly hurt his friend, he couldn’t help but fall for her grace and beauty. He felt a bit sorry of her when she was hit with Wing’s Ice Beam, wishing that he could go over to her and comfort her. As his mind wanders, Ruieko yells his commands at Blade but finds that she is yelling to deaf ears.

Wing lets out a annoyed yell, vowing to beat some sense into that Eevee when she was done playing with the opponents. Without the help from Blade, She starts to draw the electricity in the air into her body, then releasing it into the air. The bolt of electricity arks into the sky beautifully before falling, aiming at Maia. Dust fills the air where the bolt struck, blocking the view of pokemon and trainers alike. As the dust clears, Wing swears under breath as she sees the faint green glow surrounding Maia. She then shakes, feeling sick for all of the sudden from the purple gunk before. Maia grins, sticking her tongue out at Wing before turning to her partner Shimmer. Shimmer nods, speeding towards Wing, cold energy pouring from her mouth and through her fangs. She rushes over to the Dratini, hardly waiting to sink his frozen fangs into her, when she trips on a rock and falls flat on her face. Wing laughs, wiping a tear from her eye as Shimmer get back to her feet. She looks away from the laughing dragon and blushes, embarrassed by her clumsiness.

Well, you've done pretty good so far. Let's see here...Wing is a big problem, yes. So. You will start of by using an Agility + Sing combo. In other words, while using Agility, you will be Singing as well.

If Wing plans to Protect against your combo, replace it with Agility on the first action and Safeguard on the second.

Either way, on the third action, I want you to use Dragon Pulse on her for your final action. If she Protects, use Mist.

Shimmer

Well, um...this round didn't go so well. Anyway. I want you to start by using Thunder Wave on Blade. That should get him out of the way for a while.

So by now, Wing is either asleep or about to attack. If she attacks Princess Maia with a super-effective move, use Protect and jump in the way. Or just transfer your Protect shield to Maia, either way. Otherwise, try another Ice Fang, obviously on Wing.

Finish up by making a 15% Substitute that protects both you and Maia. If that's not possible, or if Wing is asleep, use another Ice Fang on Wing.

@moon-panther: Both my Pokémon are female. You referred to Shimmer as a male on several occasions. Also, I want you to make sure that you know how to ref combos before reffing this round. This command set and this reffing should help.

Blade, it doesn't seem like they'll be paying much attention to you so I want you to use Protect and jump in front of Wing, but if you can't muster the will to do so or Wing’s got it under control then use it to protect yourself. Next, take the time to Focus your Energy. And finally, this will be your chance to attack Maia even though it won’t be effective against her use Skull Bash.

Wing, seeing as you’ll be taking on quite a beating for this next round it would be best use Bide but if Blade fails to protect you try to Chill. Now, if Blade has protected you or Maia’s attack fail and you’re still awake keeping storing energy with Bide until you aren’t able to hold it anymore. However, if Maia’s attack does work and you’re asleep use Sleep Talk then Snore, of course try not to hit Blade.

~Round Three~

Wing settles herself down on the battle field and curls into a tight ball of blue and white. She closes her eyes and awaits for the attacks to come. She makes a silent prayer that she will survive through this intact. She then lets out a soft hiss as her earlier poison started to sting her insides where her muscles met her joints.

Shimmer, paying no mind to the Dratini ball, starts to charge herself up with high volts of electricity. She looks at her target and grins Mercilessly at the love stricken kit called Blade. She charges at the Eevee, crackling with electricity, and leaps at him to spend volts through his body…only to collide with a green shield that covered Blade’s body. Shimmer lets out a enraged growl and glares at the Eevee inside the bubble.

Blade looks at his sweetheart with confusion, his heart slowly tearing in between his ‘Love’ for Shimmer and what he saw before him. She was glaring at him with such hatred and scorn. He shivers from her icy glare and the previous poison from before, both attacking him relentlessly.

Away from the soap opera drama of Shimmer and Blade, Princess starts to move around to increase her speed. She forgets the plan of why she needed to get faster and starts to run around in a circle to loosen her muscles to give her more speed…when she trips over her own feet. Embarrassed, she lets out a high pitched squawk and tries to get back on her feet despite her stubby legs.


Blade looks at the object of his affection, studying her silently as his bubble of protection evaporates into the air. The radiant glow to her was no longer sparkling, her obvious grace and charm were gone. She didn’t seem all that desirable anymore. In fact, she was too wrathful and unloving to deserve his time. Fuelled by the emotion of scorned love, Blade starts to focus all his energy to prepare for his next attack to come. He tries to ignore the sickening feeling of poison trying to crawl up his throat.

Princess on the other hand, after finding her composure, starts to summon up a barrier of her own. She hops into the air and flies over her team mate, creating a curtain green energy that envelopes both Princess and Shimmer. Princess then lands back on the ground and fluffs out her feathers, happy that she was able to pull this action off without a hitch.

Shimmer, now cloaked in a green energy of protection, turns her attention to the Dratini ball to the left of Blade. She laughs darkly as a icy power brews up in her fangs. The teeny-tiny dragon was so scared to fight that it curled up into a protective ball, most likely crying for her mommy at this very moment. Shimmer grins and leaps at the dragon ball, plunging her iced fangs into her tender flesh. After her icy attack, she backs off to a good distance and laughs at the now shaking ball. Little did she know that the shaking was from the pent up energy that was beginning to grow within the dragon, as well as the sting of poison.


Blade, now with clear eyes, zeros in on his target in this part of the round. He lowers his head and charges at Princess like a bull at a rodeo. Before she could even retaliate, Blade rammed into her with the full force of the attack with the sickening sound of hollow bones cracking where Blade slammed into her. He pulls back and runs back to his side of the battle field, feeling sorry for the damage he caused to the small bird. He wanted to cause some damage, but he didn’t want to break anyone’s bones. He winces as his insides cry out in pain as the poison claws at his insides.

Princess picks herself up and winces at the pain in her body, silently cursing the Eevee under her breath. She stumbles forward in pain toward the dragon ball, drawing the inner dragon-like strength in her blood to create a ball of purple light in her beak. She then releases the ball into a wave of dragon energy at the Dratini, taking out her pain and anger on the curled dragon with every ounce of power she could put into the Dragon Pulse.

Following her team mate’s example, Shimmer leaps back onto the Dratini ball and sinks her fangs once more into the tender flesh of the dragon. Instead of waiting for her fangs to gather the icy energy like before, she allows the energy to flow from her body to Wing’s through her fangs. She grins when she sees the dragon shake violently, thinking that the end for her was near.

Then Wing’s entire body begun to flash white, pulsing, sending off a strong force of energy. Wing lifts up her head and lets out a savage howl, the white light that enveloped her bursting out into a violent wave of pure energy. All the pain she endured this round rebounds off of her and slams into the body of one of her opponents. Once the attack was over, the dust cleared to reveal the unmoving form of Princess Maia. At the sound of a whistle, both trainers wait as the ref makes her way to the island to make her ruling. A quick check-up and the Ref announced that Princess Maia was unable to continue the battle. Wing let out a relieved sigh, shuttering as the poison attacks her insides once more but paid no mind to it. All she knew was that it was her and Blade against the nasty Shinx that bite her twice in the same round with Ice Fang.
