1v1 Single
DQ: 5 days.
Damage Cap: 40%
Banned Moves: OHKOs, Non-Secondary Healing.
Arena: Bowl Ridge

A red clay ridge in the shape of a bowl, about 250 feet from one side to the other at the top, and about 150 feet from bottom to top. Water is pooled at the bottom. There are handholds on the otherwise smooth walls. Earth-and-Rock type attacks take 3% less energy to use. If you can use you're imagination, there are surely ways to power up attacks using the shape of the field...

Blastoise428's Active Squad: [Titana] Aron (Female) Ability: Rock Head, [Napol] Abra (Male) Ability: Inner Focus, [Obtis] Zigzagoon (Female) Ability: Gluttony
Shining Eevee's Active Squad: [Ema] Ralts (Female) Ability: Synchronize, [Rose] Chikorita (Female) Ability: Overgrow

First, Blastoise428 sends out, then Shining Eevee sends out and gives orders, then Blastoise428 gives orders. Afterwards, the fun begins.

Okay, Rose, let's go!

[Rose] Chikorita (Female) Ability: Overgrow

This battle's only just begun, Rose, so let's start small. Lull that little Aron asleep with Grasswhistle. If she won't fall asleep, blast her with an Energy Ball. If you get her asleep, however, set up a Leech Seed on her. Finish up by recovering any damage you've taken with Giga Drain. Then that'll be it for now, Rose.

Grasswhistle ~ Leech Seed/Energy Ball ~ Giga Drain

Use Metal Sound to drown out the sound of Grasswhistle, Defense Curl, and then run up the side of the crater ten feet and try a Rollout.

Round One: Begin

As the early morning sun rises slowly over the Bowl Ridge arena, specks of minerals glitter in the sunlight amongst a sea of rusty red. Rocky footholds and smaller ridges jut out of the side of the arena. The sides of the arena steeply slope down to the center, where a pool of water ripples in the gentle breeze. The azure pool reflects the bright, clear blue skies above, but it is impossible to see the bottom, the water clouded with canyon dust. The air is fresh and cool at this time of day, a refreshing atmosphere for the two trainers squaring off on the battlefield today. Standing upon one of the small ridges just near the edge of the water, Blastoise428 summons his first Pokemon, an Aron, while his opponent, Shining Eevee, calls out her Chikorita. Titania the Aron paws the ground energetically, her bright blue eyes peering through her silvery gray skull. Rose chirps responsively to her trainer. Like Titania, her red eyes flit back and forth, scanning the unfamiliar environment. After their trainers call out their respective orders, both Pokemon grow tense as they stare into each other's eyes.

A leaf delicately unfolds out of one of the several green gems on Rose's neck. The breeze breaks the bond between the leaf and her body. Deftly, the Chikorita's vine catches the leaf in the air, also extending from another of the gems. Curling the leaf into a thin tube, Rose guides the leaf to her mouth. Just as the first trill resounds from the whistle, the violent rasping sound of metal against metal loudly interrupts her. Titania, seemingly immune to the cacophany, bangs and scrapes her two forelegs together in a mind-numbing, earsplitting noise. Rose's breath trembles as she tries to blow into her Grasswhistle; her efforts are in vain. Titania's Metal Sound effectively drowns out any sense of melody in Rose's mind, forcefully wrenching her concentration away. Seeing Rose's expression cloud in desperation, the Aron slowly grinds to a halt. The scraping of metal echoes faintly in the bowl, its memory lingering on for a few seconds.

Briefly stupefied by the noise that just grated in her auricles, Rose teeters disconcertedly on her toes. She shakes her head furiously, by this method she manages to successfully clear her head. Taking a breath, the Chikorita focuses the life energies, causing them to materialize. Her vines extend some fraction of a meter away from her body to channel her energy. A gyrating ball of verdant light gradually takes shape in front of her, as her vines carefully guide its shape and movement. Meanwhile, a few meters away from her, Titania grasps her head with her stubby legs. Her body curls up into a ball, concealing her black underbelly. The Chikorita releases the Energy Ball at Titania just as her head ducks under. Green, snakelike ribbons of light slither into the black pockets dotting the Aron's skull, much to her discomfort. The energy nearly propels the Aron to the edge.

Feeling the dangerously sloping ground beneath her body, Titania lets out a panicky squeal as she throws her weight back up the slope. Straining, she struggles to obey her owner. Titania opens her Defense Curl slightly in order to climb up the wall. However, to her liking, the going is made easy by the numerous small rocks poking out of the dusty rock, perfect for her to climb. Just as she feels satisfied with her progress, a sudden weakening in her muscles causes her to wheel around in surprise. A strange green light enshrouds her back legs. Through the light, the Aron catches sight of Rose a few meters away, pulling the energy away from her muscles. Angered and ready to retaliate, the Aron again curls up into a ball. She lets go of the footholds, letting gravity take her body downwards. Gaining momentum as she tumbles down the slope, her body bounces on the occasional unevenness of the bowl's surface. Rose's eyes widen in surprise as the gray blur gains speed. The Aron barrels forcefully into Rose, knocking her into the ground. Red dust flies into the air as Titania swerves across the ridge.

Titania, use your momentum to roll up the side of the ridge to power up an Aerial Ace. Then, use Rock Tomb to trap that Chikorita. Rock Polish if she's trapped, and if not, use a Stealth Rock.

Momentum-powered Aerial Ace~Rock Tomb~Rock Polish/Stealth Rock

Okay, Rose, if Titania gets within 1 foot of you while attempting Aerial Ace, use Vine Whip to immobilize her. If Vine Whip fails, use Counter. Otherwise, use Leaf Storm. If Rock Tomb, the move you will be Countering, fails, instead of using Counter, use Grass Knot. Then, use Solar Beam if you had to use Leaf Storm. Otherwise, use another Vine Whip to knock away the Stealth Rocks.

Vine Whip ~ Leaf Storm/Counter/Grass Knot ~ Solar Beam/Vine Whip

Let me know if this is too confusing. >>;

Sorry about being very late with replies- I'm a bit busy, but I will try to avoid my own DQ.

I am assuming "using Vine Whip to immobilize" means grabbing Titania in mid-air and holding her- is that correct? If so, it will still take quite a bit of energy to hold her up while completing the other moves. Also, Solar Beam normally takes up two actions because it needs to charge up as well as fire. I don't know if you want to change this. If Rose has to use Solar Beam on her last action, then the actual firing will extend into the next round.

Oh, I had forgotten one part involving Vine Whip. I also wanted Rose to pull her in close and keep her on the ground. With Solar Beam, I do want it to extend into the next round.

In ASB, it usually can be executed in a single action.

Round Two: Begin

The early morning breeze is fresh and cool, heightening both Pokemon's senses. The Chikorita paces towards the bowl's wall, watching the Aron's trajectory. Meanwhile, Titania drives her momentum forward up the slope. Small clouds of red dust rise and fall behind her along the faint trail she has created. Gravity tugs at her heavy steel body, gradually pulling her upward climb to a halt. Poised to attack, Rose warily eyes Titania as she rolls across the red dirt. She raises her vines high in the air, ready to seize a good opportunity to stop the Aron in her tracks.

In compliance with her trainer's orders, Titania forcefully launches herself off the side wall. Rose momentarily loses her bearings when she notices the upside-down Aron hurtling towards her, unsure of where to grab the bumpy Pokemon. Instinctively, one of her vines shoots out in the general direction of the Aron. Like a lasso, the green, ropelike vine slaps around Titania, winding under her stubby right leg and over her left shoulder. The Chikorita's vines, however, cannot fully prevent the Aerial Ace. Titania slams into Chikorita, flying straight into the ground. Rose tightens her grip on Titania. Like a snake, the vine slithers around Titania's hard body, the tenacious coils stretching themselves. However, Titania does not seem to be perturbed by the vine around her waist; her metal exoskeleton prevents the Vine Whip from actually strangling her, and most of her body is still free.

Believing that she had just succeeded in incapacitating her opponent, the Chikorita quickly accelerates the growth of leaves on her body, sprouting from her head and the jewels at her neck. The small leaves break off of her body in droves. A greenish natural energy propels the leaves through the air. Titania closes her eyes nervously, feeling the leaves and natural energy pummel and scrape the vulnerable parts of her body. She pounds the ground with her steel feet, forcing the red dirt and pebbles into the air. Red earth and rocks rain upon Rose, much to her surprise. Her legs, buried knee-deep in the heavy debris, kick feebly in an attempt to escape.

The Chikorita grimaces now, knowing that she overestimated her own power over the Aron. She begins to concentrate on gathering the solar energy from the morning sun above, her large head leaf emitting a bright glow. Meanwhile, still in the embrace of Rose's vine, Titania attempts to scrape the extra debris and sharp edges off her metal armor. Rose winces as the Aron carelessly grinds her hard legs into the vine. However, the vine provides a perfect channel for the solar energy accumulated. Focusing now, Rose releases a burst of solar energy through her vine. Although much of her natural powers had been depleted by the Leaf Storm, the Chikorita still deals a harsh blow on Titania, who writhes from the burning pain of the Solar Beam.

Round Three: Begin

Rose, strained by the intensity of her last two grass attacks, musters up her willpower and enery for the next series of moves. A thick layer of rubble still covers her feet and immobilizes her lower body. Nevertheless, through her focused efforts, a translucent dome composed of golden light materializes; inside it, the Chikorita's eyes are narrowed in concentration as she carefully directs her energy evenly into the Reflect. Her lone vine trails outside of the dome, loosely clinging to Titania's steel body. Unperturbed by her confinement, the Aron concentrates on her own offensive. Summoning a strong wind, she feels her elemental powers magically well up inside her. The strong wind comes at her bidding; in its path it sweeps the rust-red dust in a whirling sandstorm around both Pokemon.

Struggling to build up her mental strength, Rose begins to erect a second barrier of light. The flat structure glimmers brightly, like glass, and stretches from the bowl's wall to the edge of the water. Meanwhile, Titania makes a strange gurgling sound. She coughs up a bubbling, dark liquid from some of her special internal glands. Grimacing at the disgusting taste in her mouth, the Aron spits the Toxic at Rose's feet. The immotile rubble is an easy target for Titania; the purple liquid seeps easily though the spaces between the rubble. The Light Screen wavers for a moment as Rose writhes in pain, her feet buried in the poisonous debris. The Chikorita is beginning to feel a bit dizzy from the drain on her mental energy, as well as the boiling pain of toxins invading her body.

A sinister energy begins to flicker across Titania's metal leg, snaking across it like grayish-purple smoke. Opposite her, the leaves unfurl slowly at Rose's neck. Accelerating the leaf growth and defensive shields proves a difficult job, but the Chikorita manages to ready her Magical Leaf. The vine trailing from one gem has grown lax; Rose's concentration has evidently moved on to more important tasks. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Titania carelessly kicks off the deadweight. Plunging through the shields, she passes through the shiny Light Screen easily, but the Reflect significantly cuts back on her velocity, like the sensation of passing through Jell-O. The barrage of energy-charged leaves are irritating as well. Finally, inches away from her target, Titania swings her leg at Rose's body, dealing a fierce blow into the Chikorita's underbelly.

Round Four: Begin

A whirling red sandstorm now sweeps through the clay ridge. The rounded shape of the arena keeps the wind in its path; the sandstorm shows few signs of abating. The maelstrom of sand is almost blinding to both competitors. However, while the sand has little effect on Titania, Rose's delicate leaf and skin are roughly scraped by the whirling debris. Bruised by the harsh blows dealt by her opponent, Rose starts off with a counteroffensive of her own. As she begins to concentrate some of her attention on her Counter, her Light Screen wavers, and its brilliant light dims. The Chikorita hesitates for a moment, caught in a dilemma. Only half-prepared, for a moment, she is unsure of whether or not to continue to maintain the barrier or fully turn her attentions to Counter.

Titania, confident and determined, has no scruples about blasting the Chikorita. The Aron senses and gathers the energy from the surrounding area, molding it into a reddish-brown sphere in front of her head. Swirling patterns of dust form under the shifting energy as they respond to the elemental power within. Squinting in the whirling sand, Titania manages to catch a glimpse of bright green, at which she promptly releases the Secret Power in a bright beam of light. At Rose's feet, the Secret Power blasts some of the scattered leaves from her previous Leaf Storm attack. Rose is both surprised and relieved to not have to attack this round. Her Light Screen brightens to its original luminescence, but Rose is still panting from the effort of preparing a Counter attack.

Not certain whether her attack hit or not, Titania wisely follows her trainers' order to increase her defenses. She wills her organs to produce more hormones, which gradually circulate throughout her body. The hormones stimulate her skin to produce a silvery, wet substance that spreads over her entire body. The liquid iron easily slides into the nooks and crannies of her armor, effectively guarding the sensitive bits of black, scaly skin. Meanwhile, Rose again accelerates the growth in one of her leaves. Taking the thin leaf to her lips with a vine, the Chikorita blows a soothing, slow melody on her instrument. The high-pitched notes sweetly carry through the air and effectively cut through the lower-pitched sounds of whirling sand. Soon, Titania feels fatigue and temptation tug at her willpower. Her muscles sag, and the Aron lays her head on the ground in a deep sleep.

Approaching her opponent cautiously, Rose reaches out with her vines. The sensitive tips feel the sand around her feet, helping her avoid the larger pebbles in her way. Shielding her are the glass wall of reflect and the Light Screen, both shields looking fainter than before. Coming across the now-familiar, steely form of the sleeping Aron, Rose stops in her tracks. She can faintly see something silvery-gray in her vicinity, its body moving rhythmically up and down. The Chikorita knows she can't miss now; she gladly takes a sharp, powerful swipe at Aron's body, whipping the ground from beneath it. Although the move is harder to execute with the opponent in a supine position, Titania groans from the impact, wriggling uncomfortably in her sleep.

Round Five: Begin

The whirling of wind seems to be growing weaker; Rose notices now that she can identify her surroundings without searching blindly with her vines. The Chikorita's narrowed red eyes open up slightly, peering about curiously. Instead of retracting her vines, she extends one of them towards the holes in Titania's armor, where her black skin is exposed. A greenish glow surrounds the vine, the vine working as a physical conductor for the life energy travelling through it. The Aron squirms in her sleep, looking uncomfortable and tired. Much to Rose's surprise, the Aron takes a vicious swipe at her vine. The jagged edge of metal grazes painfully past the delicate appendage, causing Rose to instinctively pull back her vines as fast as possible.

The shimmering barriers guarding Rose simultaneously fade into nothing, leaving the Chikorita defenseless. Grimacing, the Chikorita reluctantly admits to herself that she should not underestimate her opponent. Feeling greatly energized, Rose paces around her opponent, determining the best angle from which to launch her next attack. Plucking a gem from her neck, she tosses a Leech Seed at Titania, flinging the seed into the air with a flick of her vine. A small plant begins to unfold from the seed; its tiny, white roots creep over the steel armor of the Pokemon. Titania begins to twitch in her sleep, irritated by the itchy sensation of plant appendages slithering over him. The Aron kicks the dirt viciously with one leg, causing it to fly into Rose's face. Rose whines loudly as the dry dirt stings her eyes.

The remainder of the red sandstorm visibly dies down now. A small zephyr of wind sails by then fades into still air. Her eyes bleary and clouded from the Mud-Slap, Rose barely notices a difference. She can still hear Titania lightly snoring in her sleep, and the energy transfer from her little parasite plant momentarily calms her down. Coughing up some organic material, she spits the tiny seeds at the Aron. Many of the seeds scatter in the dirt, missing the intended target completely. The few seeds that do hit Titania just bounce off her metal armor. A painful noise assails the Chikorita almost immediately, throwing her off-guard. Stumbling back to her feet, she faintly recognizes the discordant sound, a disturbing grating noise coming from the Aron rubbing her forelegs together. Amazed and irritated at the capabilities of the sleeping opponent, Rose steps backwards cautiously, waiting for her next orders.
