1 v 1
Single Set
DQ time: 2 weeks
Damage Cap: 50%
Restricted Moves: OHKOs
Arena: Capital Wastelands

The battlefield is a simple rectangular arena with a lake surrounding it. However, the field is the site of a nuclear explosion, irradiating the waters and the soil underneath. There is no wildlife within miles of the place due to the heavy amounts of radiation, which has also altered the weather pattern. Therefore any weather moves will damage all Pokemon battling depending on the type of weather (damage will be referee's choice) and the waters have a 50% chance of paralyzing a Pokemon.

Grimdour's active squad: [Venom] Ekans (M) <Shed Skin> - [Storm] Shinx (M) <Intimidate>

Jewel Espeon's active squad: [Ziggio] Zigzagoon (M) <Pickup> - [Glowernight] Spinarak (M) <Insomnia> - [Pansy] Pachirisu (F) <Run Away> - [Pixy] Vulpix (F) - [Psylon] Ralts (M) <Trace>

I'll be using Venom first.

Right, use Glare to make things easy, then use Leer and Bite for a quick round.

Glare~Leer~Bite

Okay, first Ziggio, use Sand Attack to lower Venom's accuracy. To make it even, use Thunder Wave. If you failed to use Thunder Wave before, use it again. If he's already paralyzed, use Dig.

The arena is eerily silent and desolate as Grimdour and Jewel Espeon step onto the wasted island. Both trainers are in quite a hurry to get away from their boats; the trip to the island across irradiated waters was a very unnerving one. The island arena itself isn't much of an improvement, admittedly; the radiation from the nuclear explosion is still very present and a definite worry. It's better than risking a splash from the lake, however, so they do their best to concentrate on the match ahead of them. The two Pokémon they choose to do battle with, an Ekans and a Zigzagoon, do not seem to be quite as perturbed about the arena as their trainers are. They can certainly sense that something about this place is horribly wrong, but Venom the Ekans finds himself rather distracted by the very delicious-looking raccoon in front of him. Ziggio is too occupied with digging a small hole in the ground in front of him to give attention to his fear of radiation or his fear of being eaten--he could've sworn he saw something pretty and sparkly buried in the dirt. He isn't sure what the shiny little trinket he has just recovered is, but it's obviously a rarity in a place like this. He tucks it into his thick fur for safekeeping later. Jewel Espeon might want it... and if she doesn't, it would make a nice addition to his collection of shinythings.

Round One: Begin!

The big, scary purple snake keeps looking at Ziggio as though he thinks the Zigzagoon might taste good, and Ziggio, understandably, does not like being looked at that way. He should probably do something about that. The little raccoon does a quick about-face and scrapes his hindpaws across the ground rapidly, kicking up a respectable amount of dirt and grit and flinging it into Venom's face. When he thinks that he has done enough damage he turns around, expecting to see the Ekans thrashing on the earth in a futile attempt to get the grit out of his eyes without hands to wipe them with. Unfortunately, what he sees is an absolutely livid Venom glaring daggers at him. The snake's eyes are narrowed and watering with pain, but Ziggio can see the fury and vitriol in them quite clearly all the same. Immediately writing off that sand-attack as an incredibly stupid idea (far too late), the Zigzagoon stands rooted to the spot in sheer terror. Satisfied that he's struck the proper fear of God into the wretched little snack for now, Venom stops his malicious glaring long enough to turn away, whimper, and rub at his stinging, blurry eyes with the rattle on his tail.

Venom is unable to make much progress with the junk in his eyes, and so he is forced to move on in spite of his clouded vision and the irritating pain. Besides, he probably doesn't need to clear his eyes out entirely for this; he was already able to scare the bejeezus out of the irritating snack once, so now that the thing is already shaken it should be easy to frighten even further. Venom turns around and glares at Ziggio again, this time doing his best to look more wicked and disdainful than infuriated. This is still rather difficult given the grit rimming his eyes and the tears still trickling from them, but luckily for Venom the Zigzagoon is still sufficiently horrified. He is so horrified, in fact, that he still cannot bring himself to move. All Ziggio can do is whine with fear and hope that Venom's painful eyes will distract him from his hunger.

The flash of yellow and purple that flies straight at Ziggio, mouth agape, quickly dashes all of those hopes; the Zigzagoon squeals as numerous very small but needle-sharp teeth dig into the skin of his rear leg, each tiny fang dripping with searing dark energy. Admittedly, Ziggio probably should have considered himself lucky; Venom was actually aiming for Ziggio's much more vulnerable face. The Ekans is disappointed and a little mad at himself, but he doesn't dwell on it for too long. It's all Ziggio's fault that his aim is off, and as long as he's got a hold on the (rather tasty, now he has him in his mouth) snack then he's going to make him pay for it. Ziggio is too worried about the shooting pains in his leg and the big serpent behind them to count his blessings or think about much else, and so he simply struggles and squeals until Venom finally lets go.

-Ziggio flinched on the third action.
-Jewel Espeon attacks first next round.

Hmm... I guess I should of started with Thunder Wave first. :sweatdrop: At least I got that dollar. xD

Okay, now for the next chain. Okay, I'm going to try Thunder Wave for the last time. If Venom attacks you, use Protect. If he uses a defensive move, use Water Pulse. Then try using Mud-Slap.

Thunder Wave ~ Protect/Water Pulse ~ Mud-Slap

(Btw do I add to the bank now or wait for the end of the battle?)

You wait until the end of the battle. It's just going to keep going up every round anyway, so there's no sense posting every single time the amount changes.

Great round, bud. Now just to make things a bit more in our favor, use Double Team then Disable its last move. Finally, finish off with Poison Sting.

Round Two: Begin!

Venom turns away from Ziggio and sets off around the arena at the fastest pace he can manage, going in circles around his opponent and silently thanking Groudon for the lack of things to trip over thanks to his hazy vision. His speed is not especially impressive, but he still runs enough rings around the Zigzagoon to sufficiently puzzle the frightened little thing--Ziggio is now quite convinced that he can see three big, scary Ekans in front of him instead of just one. Predictably, Ziggio is horribly unnerved by this development. He's got to do something to stop Venom before his advantage becomes too great (or worse)... but the only thing he can really think to do in his petrified state could very easily get messed up by the fact that he can't tell which Venom is the real one. There's nothing else for it--Ziggio simply closes his eyes, hopes for the best and fires off a thin bolt of static electricity that has built up in his body and his fur. Sheer dumb luck allows the thunder wave to strike true, and Venom immediately drops to the floor, hissing and writhing around as he attempts to shake off the incredibly uncomfortable tingly feeling the jolt left behind.

Suddenly Venom and his two doppelgangers are looking much stiffer and clumsier, and Ziggio thinks he might be able to get the jump on his foe this time. It takes a great deal of effort and courage for him to manage it--especially effort, given the fact that his body is not really built for all of these elemental attacks--but Ziggio manages to summon up some water from somewhere deep inside him and spews it out, letting loose with a horrible, frustrated scream at the same time. The high-pitched screeching and the pulse of water manage to strike the real Venom, who continues his pained thrashing; on top of the cramping and stiffness and the dirt still in his eyes (although the water does manage to rinse a little of that away before he shuts them reflexively), the Zigzagoon's screaming has given him an awful, ringing headache. Now he's definitely having trouble seeing straight.

Thankfully enough, Venom doesn't have to move or see very well to pull off his next attack. He slowly rears up again and stares at Ziggio, not really worried about whether or not the Zigzagoon is staring back this time. With a great deal of mental exertion the snake manages to work his way into his opponent's mind. He pauses for a moment after he does this--what was he supposed to be doing in here again?--but then refocuses as best he can and suppresses Ziggio's memory of all that water-spewing, screaming nonsense. Ziggio squirms and shakes his head, unsure of what had just happened. It feels like he's forgetting something, but he doesn't really know what it is.

Ziggio is still quite frightened of his livid, thrashing, hungry foe, but his nerves are starting to settle a little now. Now that the playing field has been evened out a little, he figures he might be able to get away with another bout of mud-slinging. The ground right in front of him is, luckily, quite damp after his previous... whatever he did last round, and so the soil that he kicks into Venom's eyes this time is wonderfully moist and a little gooey. Venom wails and rubs his tail across his face, and his clones beside him blindly do the same; in a fit of rage the snake spits a flurry of thin, poisonous needles in a random direction, unable to tell and hardly even caring whether or not his aim is anywhere near Ziggio. Several of the needles do manage to hit the Zigzagoon and poke him painfully, but they don't do altogether too much damage. Heartened by this, Ziggio can feel some of his paralyzing fear beginning to dissipate at last. Besides, it's kind of funny to watch Venom and his two clones flail around like that.

After a few minutes, however, the Ekans's twitching and thrashing becomes less sporadic; he and his clones take a moment to really relax, and Venom's muscles slowly stop their spasming as they return to normal.

Ref's Notes
-You didn't declare the number of clones you wanted Venom to create, Grimdour, so I defaulted to two.
-Water Pulse confused Venom.
-Ziggio's paralysis faded at the end of the round.
-Shed Skin cured Venom's paralysis at the end of the round.
-Man, all this accuracy reduction isn't working worth crap so far, is it?
-Grimdour attacks first next round.

Ah, right.

This time use Bite, and if both your clones dissipate, use Wrap. If they don't go for Acid then finish off with Mud Bomb.

Bite~Wrap/Acid~Mud Bomb

EDIT: I hate typing after just waking up.

Poison Sting isn't anywhere in your command summary, and you've combined Wrap and Acid into a conditional instead of Mud Bomb and Acid as I believe you were intending to.

Jewel Espeon is disqualified and Grimdour the Desecrater wins the match. Grimdour gets $8 for winning and Venom gets 1 exp. Jewel Espeon gets no money and cannot make or accept new challenges until March 3rd, 2009, but Ziggio gets 1 exp. I get $5 for reffing.
