Hello. This RP borrows elements of Final Fantasy for use in a world of my creation.

Welcome to the continent of Roapuria. It is inhabited by a collection of races, divided into a collection of countries.​

Physical Map

The Races:

Humans: A bipedal species. Generally intelligent. They are second in technological development, and are a both rural and urban race, able to adapt to many climes. Humans are found doing just about anything.

Viera: Viera are much like humans, but possess traits of rabbits as well, with long, fuzzy ears which stick upward, flexible limbs, and long feet. Their hair is usually silver, and their skin more tan than that of humans. Their eyesight and hearing are far greater than that of humans, and they can even listen to the voices of the spirit world. Their lifespans are up to three times longer than those of humans. They primarily live in the forests, withdrawn compared to most of the other races. Viera society is heavily gender-segregated, with men and women living in entirely separate settlements much of the time. Men tend to be more reclusive than women.

Moogles: Moogles are a small, furry species, with long ears in proportion to their body size, wings, and a brightly-colored 'pom-pom' sticking out of their head. They are very intelligent, and the most technologically advanced race, having constructed the first airships and firearms. Complex engineering is the field of moogles, who possess more hand dexterity than humans. They live similar lifestyles to humans, but are less adaptable. They are found most often in cities in the south of the continent.

Nu Mou: The nu mou are a short and squat race with elongated, somewhat canine faces, long, droopy ears, and long tails. The nu mou are very intelligent as well, but in contrast to the moogles, live a rural, traditionalist lifestyle. They tend to keep away from the other races, preferring to stay out of the way, and as such are mostly mysterious to them. The nu mou are the most skilled magic users on the continent, and are also skilled at taming beasts of the wilds.

Bangaa: The Bangaa are a reptilian race, with long faces, scaly skin, long ears, and powerful, tough limbs. It is very difficult to tell between male and female bangaa until they start speaking. They are physically powerful, and about as smart as the humans, in general are quite similar in manner, though not so even-tempered. Bangaa live about twice as long as humans, and have acute senses of hearing and smell. They have a distinct guttural voice, a product of their not-as-developed vocal chords, which makes magic very difficult for them. They make up for this in physical prowess and skills in battle.

Gria: The Gria appear to be draconic humans, appearing as a humanlike race with horns, dragon wings far better at flight than moogle wings, and a tail. Like humans, gria are well-rounded, proficient at magic and physical battling, their flight giving them an edge in battle. The gria appear to be an entirely female species.

Elvaan: As the name suggests, the elvaan are similar to elves of our mythos, with a mostly human appearance, except that they are typically a bit taller and have pointy ears. They are competant warriors, though their isolation from the mainland made their fighting strategies appear old-fashioned. However, the elvaan have most likely been fighting more than other races in their past history, as the islands were once many small elvaan states vying for total control. Today, they stand as one, the only race to have once state for itself besides the mithra. They are proficient in physical fighting and white magic.

Mithra: The mithra are a feline race, with long, thin tails and cat ears. They live in relative isolation from the rest of the continent, inhabiting steppes far to the east. The mithra are thus relatively unknown except to their only neighbors, the gria. Though they are one state on the steppes, the mithra homeland is fairly decentralized, with the central government hardly interfering. This leads to their race having a general sense of freedom, and they are the most adventurous as well. Female mithra greatly outnumber males, which leads to almost all adventuring mithra to be females.

The World:
Political Map

Galicia: Tan on the map. Galicia is the largest country on the continent, populated entirely by humans. 25 years ago, though, she owned only a quarter of the lands Galicia currently owns. They, other human kingdoms, were conquered in succession, the other human kingdoms unable to stop them. Many reported otherworldly horrors during the human wars, but such rumor were quickly squelched following the annexation of Galicia's neighbors. About 3 years ago, Galicia invaded the countryside of of Algarve to the west. Galicia is primarily steppes and plains in the west, with a forest covering the northernmost end, and forested in the east, broken by a few smaller mountain ranges, with a chain of hills and mountains separating the two halves.

Algarve: Olive with tan stripes on the map. Algarve was an area of self-ruled towns and villages in the north, with lawless, but peaceful wilderness separating them, and sparsely populated jungle in the south. The area was tranquil, conflict between towns never resolved through violence. Algarve was populated by nu mou, with humans growing more common closer to the border with Galicia. The northern half of Algarve is mainly steppe, with some jungles in the northern-central areas. The southern half is wild jungle, though nu mou do populate a few coastal areas with small, pastoral settlements. The whole of Algarve, since the invasion 3 years ago, is claimed by Galicia. However, the occupation only covers the northern steppes and the eastern coast, allowing resistors to base themselves within the jungles.

Sjaelland and Jylland: Orange-red and brown on the map, respectively. Sjaelland and Jylland are the two gria countries. They are closely related, though attempts at union have usually failed due to rivalries. The two have fought in the past over land, especially the island of Svalbard to the north, which is abundant in resources. However, peace has prevailed recently, as the two states become concerned about Galicia. The geography mostly plains, broken by mountains in the western end of Sjaelland, and hilly terrain in the east of Jylland, near the border with Windurst. The southern ends of both countries are covered by large swaths of large-scale farmland.

Windurst: Gray on the map. Windurst is the nation of the mithra, who are mostly in their element here. Small communities dot the landscape. The country exists in isolation with the rest of the continent due to it's thin and mountainous border with Jylland being it's only connection. Little of the continent's politics have affected Windurst, leading some to say it should be disconnected from the mainland altogether. However, many mithra comes out of their homeland to explore the rest of the world. The country is mainly steppe, the natural enviroment of the mithra, but forested in the northeast corner. Most farming occurs in the north along the forests.

Neapolita: Yellow on the map. Neapolita covers the southwestern corner of the continent. The country is largely populated by the moogles and humans in the western third, bangaa in the central third, and more humans in the eastern third. It is the result of many political agreements, and it's structure is largely divided into three entities, representing the three regions. Traditionally, the humans and moogles living in the west are traders, living in large technologically advanced cities, while eastward the bangaa and humans lived in traditional tribal structures, though some migration is occuring nowadays. Though Neapolita hasn't been involved in a war since it's creation, it is considered a military equal to Galicia, due to the combination of strengths caused by the diverse population. The western third is a mix of forests mainly in the south, and some steppes in the north, and jungle in the northernmost fringes. The central part of the country is mostly desert, with some steppes along the coast. The east has veru rugged terrain, mainly hills and mountains, with a forest making a path from the desert to the neutral steppes.

Elendia: Green on the map. Elendia is home to the viera, and aside from some who go out to see the world, the only place to find them. It isn't actually one country, Elendia is actually a collection of small states, all locally run. The whole region is forested, with some mountains in the northwestern corner. Next to no outsiders are allowed inside, shrouding the area in mystery.

Ragusa: Pinkish red on the map. Ragusa covers the eastern fifth of San d'Oria Island and the island of Corfu to the south. It is the youngest nation, started by human and moogle traders and adventurers who moved to the area, pushing elvaan authority out. The country is now fully independent, though sometimes at odds with the country of San d'Oria. The geography consists mostly of steppes, with a forest covering the peninsula to the north. Corfu is covered by forests. The country is populated by humans, moogles, and remaining elvaan. It functions as a republic, with close ties to Neapolita, from which most of the country's population came from. Ragusa got rich off trade between the elvaan and the mainland, strategically positioned between the islands and the mainland.

San d'Oria: Gold on the map. San d'Oria is a monarchy with a long past, arising from elvaan wars that led to the union of the isles under the rule of San d'Oria. It's population is all elvaan. The country is mainly forests and steppes, and steppes and jungles on the northern island of Madeira. It is almost always at odds with Ragusa, though war never comes due to the support of Neapolita for Ragusa. The country itself has been slowly decaying since the independence of Ragusa, as imported goods became more and more expensive, and dissent rose against the monarchy. However, no open revolts have started yet.

The Great Jungles: Dark green on the map. These two jungles are the largest on the continent. They are nearly unpopulated by sentient beings, with the people who do live there being devoid of all civilizing traits. They have historically posed a boundary between the north and the south, causing the one end to become isolated from the other.

The Neutral Strip: White on the map. Also known by such names as the Wild Plains/Steppes, This largely steppe area has historically been the only land route between north and south. It is a vital trade artery, and there are some settlements here and there, but after large wars, the bordering nations have decided upon leaving it neutral. It is frequented by bandits, who terrorize the caravans for their very valuable goods.

The Story so Far:

Roapuria faces an era of conflict following a period of relative peace. The human empire of Galicia has conquered all of her neighbors. All of her victories have been suspect, though, and many think this is more than wanton imperialism. Many refugees report otherworldly monsters emerging before Galician armies, which could easily sweep away most opposition. History records a similar feat being done centuries ago. The world was nearly torn asunder, and as such, the people of the world sought never to perform such dark rituals ever again. Worse than that, though, are the reports from Algarve. Not only have the monsters been spotted there, but many say that nu mou are dissapearing. Reports of kidnappings by the Galician occupiers are widespread. Human residents, however, are largely untouched unless they cause trouble. Many theories have been raised as to why. Some claim Galicia's leadership wants to rid the world of non-human residents. Others say the dark god Galicia serves requires non-human, or even specifically nu mou sacrifices. The gria states, Sjaelland and Jylland, are on high-alert, while the southern states are concerned, hoping this is just a northern atrocity. Many volunteers from the south have gone off to the north, though, whether to help the Algarve resistance, or to help the gria prepare for the inevitable invasion.​

- Keep sexual content to a minimum.
- Keep grammar at an acceptable level. No chatspeak and such.
- No unnecessary one-liners. Don't just post a one-liner for the sake of it, but you don't have to fluff up a post if you're in one of those 'one-liner' situations.
- If you haven't read the forum rules, get out of my sight.

Gender: Gria are female only. Almost all mithra leaving Windurst are female, you have to be able to convince me in your form if you want to be a male mithra. Male viera outside Elendia are rare, so I'll allow a few depending on how many people we have.
Age: Make it appropriate. Recall that viera live three times longer than people and bangaa, twice as long. On the other end of the spectrum, you've got to be 14 or older.
Home Nation: Make sure it makes sense.

Race: Viera
Gender: Female
Age: 49
Home Nation: Elendia
Job: Red Mage
Appearance: She stands at around 6 feet without her high heels on. Her skin is light tan, and her ears are white. Her hair is a dull silver. Typically seen wearing an outfit close to that of most viera red mages, a sleeveless red dress, cut high up the thighs, black high heels over socks that go up a bit past her knees, and a fedora with a white feather stuck in it. Her rapier is sheathed and hanging off her hip.
Personality: Agnes is strong-willed and independent, but usually open to teamwork. She might, however, come off as mean-spirited or disdainful to strangers, especially humans, whom she holds in contempt.
Background: Agnes was, like everyone else, born and raised in a typical village in Elendia. After years of training, she left her home to become an adventurer across the south of Roapuria. Agnes often freelanced in the neutral steppes, though, offering her services as a protector of caravans, fighting off bandits and the like. She paid no attention to events in the north. However, recently spirits of some of her ancestors have called out to her to do something about it.

Appearance: Tall (as Moogles go) and somewhat thin, Mark has a royal blue puffball and even-larger-than-normal ears. His wings, a dark blue, are also large, as are his feet. Mark's fur is creamish-white, and each hair has a bluish-tinted tip. He has a black nose, which usually has his glasses on them.
Personality: PO
Background: Mark was born in Neopolita, but at the age of two months was brought to Ragusa, which he has always called his home. Mark learned to sing and play his instrument, a flute, from an old trader in his village. He recently left home, intent on helping with 'the northern situation' as his parents called it.

Appearance: Vai has dark brown hair, and black wings. Her skin is somewhat tanned, and she wears dark clothes. Around average height for a Gria.
Personality: PO'd~
Background: Vai has led an average life, up til now. She grew up in Jylland and eventually left at fourteen years of age. Vai is a traveler, never staying in a place for too long. And if I can have a second character, they're already together.

Job: Raptor
Appearance:She has light yellow eyes with completely black pupils, similar to a cat's. Like all Gria, she has wings and tail (which are all dark green) and small pale yellow horns on her head. She wears baggy purple pants and a plain purple shirt. She has a golden ring on a chain as a necklace, which she never takes off. She prefers to go barefoot, though she carries shoes with her most of the time. Her hair is bright green and goes down to her elbows. It's always one long braid, with a red ribbon. She occasionally carries a huge purple star with stars engraved into the blade, though she obviously doesn't need to use it much. Because of an injury in a battle a few years ago, it's difficult for her to walk for very long and running is downright painful, so she's forced to fly everywhere. The upside of this is that she can fly for much longer periods of time than most Gria.
Personality: Calm and level-headed, she's excellent at strategizing for battles and the like. She loves to have friendly fights with other people, and thinks of swords more as toys than deadly weapons. Despite seeming apathetic about most things, she's extremely serious when necessary and is very determined to the point of stubbornness. Titanya is very dangerous and somewhat violent when angry enough, though she will (probably) not ever lash out against anyone on her side. She is a bit shy and generally somewhat of a recluse, she has a hard time talking and relating to other people.
Background: Titanya had a normal childhood, growing up in Jylland. After studying swordplay and a lot of practice, she joined a clan when she was 15, where she and others went on adventures fighting monsters and other clans. She was extremely happy and soon saw her other clan team mates as family. About two years ago her clan was in a vicious battle with another clan, during which spine was damaged and leaving her partially paralyzed. Titanya does not like talking about how exactly it happened very much. Unable to travel and fight with a clan, she went back home and has been peacefully working alone on the farm she'd grown up on ever since.

Name: Ahli Khues
Race: Mithra
Gender: Female
Age: 31

Job: Thief

Appearance: What does Ahli Khues look like? Such a simple question with a far more time-consuming answer, all because she is just never able to make up her mind. Every day, she walks into some city or another under the guise of a completely different person, sometimes even of a different race and hardly ever repeating these personas, so that she can "mix it up a bit". At night - or whatever other time she deems appropriate, namely returning to her current "home" - however, she flies her true colors as the notorious Mithra thief she really is.

Her hair is parted evenly down the middle, the left side curly and short, barely long enough to cover her emerald feline eyes, and dyed a vibrant green, while the right side is pitch black, like the cat ears peaking out through the two-toned mass and her flexible tail, and grown down to her chest. She wears a very form-fitting shirt of dark cloth, usually accompanied by a heavy leather vest marked with twisting red lines, ragged shorts held in place by a belt, latched onto which are a pair of ornate daggers, and sandals firmly tightened around her feet. She has a particular penchant for jewelry, especially rings of strange and exotic design, and can almost always be found wearing at least one such article on her person at all times.

Personality: Ahli's obsession over disguises, though helpful and overall necessary for one in her profession, is something she has great experience with thanks to an extensive career in acting while still living in Windurst; as a result, she knows not only how to appear as someone else, but also how to be someone else. There's something about the idea of being a thief, however, that she is drawn to, not necessarily the rewards, but the thrill of living life on the edge, a test of her skills. To make up for the fact that she has almost no training in combat with any real weapons, she throws on an aura of inhuman malevolence so excruciatingly terrifying that most of the people she comes across can be intimidated into submission - which is all the better for her conscious in the long run; she can't stand the thought of her actions bringing any lasting physical harm to anyone.

Background: Born in the northern forests of Windurst, Ahli was relatively alone for much of her childhood, with neither siblings nor neighbors of her age to call friends. In this seclusion, her imagination grew particularly pronounced, and the pretend games children played so often became all the more real to her. Later on, in school, she took up an interest in theater, filling in her old desires to become that which she isn't, although this was hardly enough for her, for, when you really get down to it, she was still the same normal girl inside.

So, setting out to the inner depths of Roapuria, Ahli forged a new identity for herself, one that would bring excitement to her otherwise dull lifestyle. She used stealing not only as a source of income, but also to get that sense of transcendence which she sought. She currently resides in a small shack (read: leaking, freezing, falling apart at the seams, and all-around crumby, but fitting that cozy kind of nature which people such as Ahli so desire) on the southern boundaries of Galicia, close to the border of the Great Jungle.

Seriously though, unless there are massive amounts of posting that take forever to read, I won't suddenly disappear from this RP, being obsessed with Final Fantasy as I am.

Name: Giath
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Home Nation: Algarve
Job: Black Mage

Appearance: Looks like an average black mage, with a large witch-like hat with a large brim, shrouding his face. His face, however, has red eyes instead of the average yellow. He wears a puffy black shirt and brown leather pants. He has a large dark-blue cape that occaisonally shrouds the rest of his clothing.

Personality: Giath is somewhat quiet, but quite intelligent. He has a slightly darker sense of humor than most, and he often is sarcastic and has a tendency to be rude to people who are older and outrank him. He tends to be arrogant about his magic abilities, and often defensive if someone corrects him.

Background: Giath was born to two well known criminals, known for robbing and killing many throughout Algarve. Only years after Giath was born, his parents were arrested and executed for their heinous crimes. Giath was then raised by an old, wise, and powerful Black Mage who trained Giath in how to use magic. Because of this, Giath has become extremely talented in using Black magic. When Giath was 15, the powerful mage died.

After the mage died, Giath began travelling the world, training his magic, with hopes to be the most powerful mage in all of Roapuria. Giath eventually returned to Algarve, shortly before the invasion. When Galicia invaded Algarve, Giath became arrogant and sure of his abilities, and attempted to take down the army. Unfortunately, when he and an opponent both cast an equally powerful Flare spell at each other, Giath was knocked out for days.

When he awoke again, weeks later, he found himself imprisoned in Galicia. He discovered then that he was unable to use any of his powerful magicks, such as Flare. Enraged, he eventually escaped from the prison and has since roamed the lands, searching for a way to regain his lost magic.

Other: I kind of based the forgotten magic part on Tellah from FF4. ^^;

And yay~ First and so far only human character.
