Sprite Triathlon~ Congrats to Xikaze and Aethelstan!!!

Attention all Spriters!

I have created a spriting contest in search of the best. The rules are as follows:
~ You must compete in all three events.
~ Transparency is recommended; however, it is not necessary. If the transparency skews the image, leave the white background.
~ Serious competitors only.
~ Don't signup if you can't do all the events.
~ Plagiarism = IMMEDIATE disqualification.
~ All sprites should be saved under either a .PNG or Bitmap file.
~ On the first two events, tell me the two sprites you used.
~ I am NOT looking for perfection.
~ If you find that someone has used one of your sprites, please contact me ASAP.

The events:
~ Splice 2 (35 Points): I'm looking for cleanness of the sprite, accuracy of the recolor, and the body and parts blending in nicely. Creativity in selection is important too. I dont want to see a Voltorb and Electrode (an extreme example, but a decent one.)

~ Recolor (15 Points): Looking for cleanliness overall, the outlines being recolored as well too. Blend the colors of the Pokemon's pallate with the body of the other. If you use a custom pallate, tell me what you used. Be creative.

~ Scratch (50 Points): This is a huge chunk of your score, so TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Cleanliness is big here as well as being able to tell what Pokemon it is without you telling me. I will check your sprite against the game sprites.

The awards:
~ 1st Prize: Honorary Status at my sprite shop, and a "Top Spriter" Banner with your sprites on it.

~ 2nd Prize: A "2nd Place" Banner with your sprites one it.

~ 3rd Prize: A "Participant" Banner (of course with you sprites on it.)

In the event of a tie, the 1st and 2nd place will be determined by who did better in the scratching category.

Splice 2 (35 Points): 31/35
-Recolor Accuracy (10 Points): 8/10
Your recolor appears flawless, although it is tough to tell since I don’t know what you used other than Skarmory. I think it’s Meowth, so I don’t know how you got the salmon color. Other than that, you did great here.
-Blending of the Parts (10 Points): 9/10
Again, great job here. I’m starting to think you used Persian for the tail. Your features blend in beautifully.
-Creativity and Cleanliness (15 Points): 14/15
Your creativity is great, but if you did use Meowth, I would have liked to see the coin. What is the little thing on Skarmory’s head? Overall, you did great.

Recolor (15 Points): 13/15
-Recolor Accuracy (10 Points): 8/10
What did you use for a palette? That’s where you lost points. The recolor is extremely accurate, so great job there.
-Cleanliness and Creativity: (5 Points): 5/5
Very clean, I would have liked to know the palette you used. Overall, I really liked the sprite.

Scratch (50 Points): 45/50
-Telling which Pokémon it is: (30 Points): 28/30
All I did was look at it to know it was Absol. However, I don’t think it could fit in with the game sprites. Your sprite is great though.
-Cleanliness and other: (20 Points): 17/20
Like I had said, I don’t think it could fit in right with the game sprites, but it’s a decent sprite. I like the repose.

Very well done on the recolor. I like putting in the black spots. You should have recolored the baby.
-Blending of the Parts (10 Points): 8/10
I like the baby, but it looks sloppy there. You should have removed it completely. Other than that, great job.
-Creativity and Cleanliness (15 Points): 12/15
The only reason you lost points is for the baby. Otherwise, great idea.

My personal opinion on this is that you should have used less pink. Maybe the pink on the claws and the red “necklace” colors should have been used.

Very creative. I would have liked the eyes recolored.

I knew it was Electivire. However, I was thrown off by the misproportioned body.
-Cleanliness and other: (20 Points): 15/20
It’s a clean sprite, but the body isn’t proportioned correctly. The arms are triangular and the legs are ultra skinny. You got the fur though.

AMAZING performance here. The sprite overall is great, and the recolor perfect. Good job.

Everything is great here. I just don’t like the thing sticking out of Gallade’s chest. I would have left the “hump”.

I would have like both head things on Gallade. Very creative though. Great job in the first category.

I originally thought it was Riolu posing as Lucario until I read the description. I wasn’t thrilled by the baby format, and it was very risky.

Just looking at it I immediately knew it was Miltank. Nice repose.

Fantastic job on the sprite. It’s obviously Torkoal. It looks like it could fit in with the game sprites.

The only reason you lost points is because I would have liked to see SMOKE!

Potentially last grade, so currently Xikaze and Aethelstan are tied for 1st.

I looked at both tied cometitors scratching, and since they were tied, I gave the win to both of them. Prizes will be PM'd.
