This is.. a very odd battlefield. The battlers start on a kind of raised platform in the middle of a dark city, the platform being about about twenty feet across horizontally and vertically. There are no special effects until after the second round.. and someone turns on the Chaos Engine, somewhere far away. After that, anything is possible, battlers may suddenly evolve or devolve (not permanently), the arena might turn into a pool of fire, flocks of flying cows might crap on the stage, key phrase being anything is possible[/s].

However, none of these effects last more than a round. The referee has the code to the Chaos Engine for this match, so he or she completely controls what happens to the Pokemon or the stage.

Other: Storm Thief!

FFFFF- YEAH~

Alright, who needs the most experience... *sigh* So many choices. Then.. let's go with Ashglade, my male Togepi. This's your first battle, and it's about to get screwy, so hold on tight~

Fun >:3

Pera, gogogogo~

Let's start this out nice. And by nice I mean hit that egg with a Fury Attack. Afterwards, I want you to use Double Team. Finally, if things are going your way in this round, use Return for your final action. If you, er, get your wings punted faaar away instead, go use Frustration.

Fury Attack~Double Team (3 clones)~ Return/Frustration

Alright Ashglade, let's try not to screw over your first battle. Start with Attract, 'cause that's some form of evil, and then use Tri Attack. Use Attract instead if it failed somehow on the first action. Finish up with Shock Wave, or Tri Attack if it failed. Simple~

- Sitting calmly near her trainer.

Two trainers gather within a city, perched upon a square, smallish platform. A single pair of lights illuminate the platform, revealing little but the darkness of the city below. They flicker off as the referee arrives aback a pokemon. He returns his altaria and places the pokeball in this pocket, then beckons both trainers to begin. Dragon is the first to release her pokemon, and sends out a little Togepi. The small pokemon looks around and turns back to his trainer, jumping up and down nervously. RandomTyphoon, meanwhile, summons a small blue pokemon with white cloud-like wings. The swablu chirps excitedly and hops around, her wings fluttering back and forth. She tests them momentarily before awaiting her trainer's orders.

Both trainers issue their orders and the battle begins. Swablu is the first to act, charging forward as her beak is cast aglow. She attacks the little egg pokemon with a furious torrent of attacks. As Ashglade cries out, startled, Pera retreats backwards as Togepi alters his shape to become more attractive. Despite having just been attacked, Togepi is able to create a rather cute persona and Pera is obviously infatuated. She is momentarily distracted by Togepi's cuteness as her opponent begins a second attack. Togepi summons a strange, multi-colored triangle with glowing orbs at each of the three colors. He releases the attack and it spins forward towards Pera, hitting the swablu right on and knocking her back a few feet. Pera jumps back up, determined, and begins conjuring three copies of herself in a circle, creating four identical swablu.

As Togepi examines the four swablu before him, attempting to identify which one is the real one, the four swablu go into action, happily charging towards Togepi. As she moves towards him, Ashglade goes into action, summoning a ball of pulsing electricity above him. As Swablu nears, he releases tendrils of electricity in all directions. The three illusions fade and the one true swablu winces as electricity cackles over her body. Her wings droop, but with determined resolve she attacks Togepi with anger, knocking the baby pokemon down. As Swablu returns near her trainer's feet, Ashglade slowly gets up and inspects her injuries. He turns to his trainer, smiling and yipping excitedly as he turns and looks back at his opponent. Meanwhile, Swablu is smiling and most of her negative energy has faded away in favor of a happy resolve.

two unimportant things it's a 'Sooth Bell' and infutation means the attracted Pokemon has a 50% chance of not being able to attack

if you already knew sorry if I seem out there

Hmm, it seems you've taken the brunt of this 'ere mess, huh, Ashglade? Well, let's show this little mess of clouds what 'cha got. Start with a Thunder Wave. Follow that up with a Dizzy Punch, do yar best to confuse her~ If Thunder Wave failed, use it instead. Finish with a Tri Attack, or a Metronome if Pera uses a non-damaging attack. If at any point Pera uses Double Team, use Shock Wave and kill them all >:3

Mmmm. You're doing slightly better than the spikeball here, good. :3

If you get paralyzed on the first round, go ahead and Facade the hell outta the bugger, then use Refresh on the second round, but only if yer paralyzed. If you're still a limber birdeh, Ice Beam it to pieces.
Last round, use Safeguard if Refresh actually worked, but it it didn't, well, Chill for now :/

The two trainers stood on their respective ends of the battle field, looking a bit bored. Referee Empoleon had suddenly vanished, and the Chaos Engine hadn't even been turned on yet! Sheesh! RandomTyphoon looked at her watch and tapped her feet in annoyance while Dragon just stared into space. After seemingly forever, RandomTyphoon muttered something under her breath and left the arena. She posted a large sticky note onto the beat-up looking E-Ref board, and came back for another long and annoying wait. So of course everybody was happy when a Linoone popped up from nowhere with a pair of referee flags. Well, maybe besides the Linoone, for it materialized about five feet from the ground and came crashing down with a painful thump. "Ugh... Remind me why I'm here again," it muttered and picked up its fallen beret and referee flags. She looked about at the extremely bored trainers and pokemon and sighed. "Well. Round what-is-it, start~"

The Togepi was definitely willing to start. Electricity jumped across his body as he prepared for the Thunder Wave attack. Pera, on the other hand, seemed to be just staring at the Togepi. Well, she reasoned, Trainer person told me to use Facade if I'm paralyzed, but I'm not... And the Togepi is actually kind of cute... So perhaps... If I don't attack...

Let's just say that she was quite shocked (bad pun intended) when a bolt of electricity shot out of the little egg pokemon and zapped her in the face. The electricity wasn't that painful -- however, a strange numb feeling started, spreading from the Swablu's face to her wings. When she realized what was happening, it was too late; the electricity had done its job, and she was paralyzed. Pera panicked and tried to move, but her muscles cramped, and the only thing she managed was to lay in a twitching heap on the ground. The Swablu tried to calm down. What was she supposed to do? Oh yes. The bird focused, and her body started glowing, brighter and brighter as her muscles relaxed. The light faded, and she flexed her wings experimentally. Ah, perfect... Now she can face the cute little egg-thing properly. Although the egg-thing attacked her, it was ok, right? After all, she wasn't hurt. It must have just been a little mistake...

So of course Pera was shocked again when a fist smashed into her face. And another. And another. And another. Ashglade continued the barrage of punches, and Pera was sent sliding backwards by the force of the attack. How... Why... Why is the cute little eggie attacking her? Doesn't he love her? Pera wanted to cry. Or maybe peck the eyes of that stupid egg out. No! Why was she thinking such violent thoughts? Eggie must love her! He must be attacking only because his evil trainer will punish him if he doesn't! Pera tried to talk herself out of hating the Togepi, but she found herself unable to like the egg as much as before.

Pera sighed lightly as the Togepi backed off. She still didn't feel like she could attack just yet... At least her trainer understands. The bird started glowing again, bright green this time, and a faint shield of light green energy surrounded her. She turned to face the Togepi, a little wary. What will little eggie do?

Ashglade seemed content on waving his tiny fingers around. The space around him seemed to ripple, and the Togepi suddenly charged forward and bit the Swablu on the head before jumping away again. Pera squawked in indignation. What was that about? Well, whatever it was, it did not hurt much...

A strange rumble could be heard in the distance and -- hey, what is the referee doing? A strange person (or creature or thing) was talking to the referee, then it handed the referee what looked like a card with something written on it. The referee grinned happily and stuffed it in its beret, and the strange person (or creature or thing) turned into a neon pink schoolbus and fell off the arena. "Oh hey guys, the Chaos Engine has been officially turned on! Congratulations, and have a good night!" The referee called cheerfully and waved its referee flags. "Anyway, round whatever ends!"

A deep rumble could be heard in the distance as the Chaos Engine started doing its magic. Although everything seems quite normal right now, it was quite certain that something was going to happen soon. The referee Linoone seems to be quite excited by the Chaos Engine, for its mood had lifted and she had a huge grin plastered to its face. Then, of course, it could be that the Chaos Engine had tweaked its brain a little and made it act... well, strange. "Lalala~" The referee sang, while juggling its three referee flags (nobody's quite sure where the third one came from), "anyway~ Round what-is-it plus one staarrrrttttt~"

A strange humming sound covered the arena. The two pokemon and trainers found themselves slowing floating away from the platform and, when they stopped, they were hovering about five feet in the air. A referee flag shot off upwards and disappered as a tiny red dot. The referee stopped juggling its flags, "Oh, and by the way, gravity's been turned off for this round. Have fun messing with the rest of the laws of physics~"

Pera was not at all unnerved by the fact that she was now levitating five foot from the ground. After all, she is a flying type, and she does have wings. Although... The Swablu turned her attention to Ashglade, who was panicking as he flailed in the air. Daw... Poor little eggie. The Togepi looked so miserable that Pera couldn't force herself to attack.

Ashglade, on the other hand, was quite bothered by the fact that he is floating five feet from the ground (or platform, if you will), and definitely not too happy about the fact that he's going to have to remain in the air for the whole round. Might as well as get it over with, he sighed, and raised his stubby little hands. The Togepi started chanting omniously, and a circle on the platform started to glow with a deep indigo light. The light intensified, and, with a final yell from Ashglade, chunks of rocks broke away from the arena. A ghostly, blue and purple flame covered the rocks, and they hovered in the air in a circle around the Swablu. Pera only time for a confused "swa?" before the rocks slammed into her.

Chaos ensured. With gravity off, the rocks did not fall to the ground in a nice, parabolic arc like rocks should, but continued on their paths as they bounced away from each other. It's like a huge rock spontainously exploded in mid air, only that the rocks are not falling. Angry spirits could be heard screaming as the rocks whizzled by and headed towards the city, followed by loud crashes and glass breaking. Pera squawked in pain -- after all, she did just get hit by a bunch of flying rocks -- and attacked in, more or less, self-defense. A bright red flame swirled around the Swablu's body, and the bird seemed to spontainously explode. It looked rather similar to the aftereffects of the Ancientpower earlier, but only this time, it was fire. A circle of flames exploded from the Swablu and smashed into Ashglade. The Togepi screamed in pain as the flame scorched his body, and he was sent flying backwards from the sheer force of the Heat Wave. Ashglade tried to steady himself against the attack, but found that he was unable to do so, for he was floating five feet above the ground. So, even when the heat wave had passed, Ashglade was still flying backwards at a considerable speed.

Pera gasped, realizing what she had done. She had accidentally torched poor little eggie! Oh no! Even though the flying rocks hurt a lot, she was sure little eggie did not mean it. Eggie could not have known how much the rocks hurt, and now she had scorched the poor thing! Now look at it flail around in the air! It can't even muster up enough energy to attack!

Ashglade was, yes, flailing around. But no, he did have enough energy to attack -- he just couldn't figure out what exactly his trainer meant by "Lock-On". He was pretty sure it was a move, but he had never seen it before, let alone used it. He settled on trying to stop flying so fast -- although gravity is off, there is still friction, and he was slowing down (if very slowly).

Pera sighed lightly. She couldn't really do anything to help poor eggie... After all, this is a battle. And healing sounds nice right now -- her whole body was bruised and painful from the Ancienctpower. Although there's no gravity, Roosting in the air was still awkward, so Pera (with a bit of work, since there's no gravity) fluttered to the ground and folded her bruised wings. She closed her eyes and relaxed, feeling her body heal itself and the bruises disappearing. Poor eggie... She thought to herself lovingly. He's still flying around out there, isn't he...

Still flying backward at a pretty great speed, Ashglade started charging up a ball of electricity in front of him. It was going to be hard to hit the Swablu, expecially if he's flying backwards like this. At least the bird is not moving anymore... With that, Ashglade let go of the cracking ball of electicity and threw it towards Pera. The ball zigzagged its way toward the bird, but Ashglade found himself in a little predicament. Actually, it was probably not little, since the force of the throw made him fly backwards even faster than before. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction~" the referee could be heard calling in a distance. Ashglade found himself flying higher, too, probably because he had to aim down to hit the Swablu. He cried out in panic and tried to control his flight, but to no avail. With nothing to push off of, the Togepi could only panic as he watched himself getting closer and closer to the edge of the platform. Far below him, the Zap Cannon zipped across the arena and missed Pera by a feather -- Ashglade gasped -- before suddenly jolting back and smacking the roosting bird on the tailfeathers. Pera was jolted awake (pun intended) and cried out in pain -- electricity and flying do not go together -- but, to her surprise, the Zap Cannon did not hurt as much as it should. Some electricity sparked off her and drained into the platform. However, a same, familiar numb feeling began to creep over her, starting from her tail this time.

Another referee flag flew through the air. "ANnnnnnnd round whatever plus one ends~" The referee called cheerfully, "now, ladies and gentlemen and genderless things alike, please prepare for the landing as gravity is turned back oooonnnnnnnnn~" The two trainers and two Pokemon crashed to the ground rather painfully, with Pera thankfully noting her trainer's decision telling her to Roost. Ashglade, however, did not have as much luck and had quite a few more feet than the others to fall. In a nice, parabolic arc like all objects should, the Egg Pokemon landed on the ground with a heavy thud and a yelp of pain.

And so, after a bit of fiddling around, the Linoone managed to hold up its only referee flag (two had flown away during the last battle) , which had enlarged to about the size of a Donphan for seemingly no reason at all. It waved the flag awkwardly, "Round whatever -- I mean, what-is-it plus two sta --" Its sentence was cut off from a very loud rumbling sound. It was coming from above. The two trainers, two pokemon, one referee, and one referee flag looked up spontaneously. Something was falling, and whatever it was, it was falling fast. The object was huge and a depressing black, and as it got closer and closer, the battlers realized that the thing actually wasn't a thing -- it was many, many little things. A few of the faster falling black things hit the referee on the head and bounced to the ground. The Linoone picked it up and examined it. "I knew that I shouldn't have written so much... " it muttered and tossed the thing to the ground. "Anyway, like I was saying, start!"

Yes. Words are, for some unexplainable reason, falling from the sky. They poured down on to the arena like rain and quickly piled up, and the pokemon and trainers had to scramble up the quickly growing hill of words to prevent being buried. The referee, however, seemed content on getting piled under all the words. Ashglade cursed a little at his short limbs -- it was hard to scramble up a pile of words, and his egg-shape did not help. The Togepi decided that thinking about how in the world can someone stand on words, let alone drown in them, is definitely not a good thing to do. It might cause the Chaos Engine to behave... well, more chaotic. He instead focused on trying not to get buried in the heavy rain of falling words and looking for the Swablu. Ah! There she is. The Swablu was also struggling to get out of the torrent of falling words -- with her paralysis, she was already getting half-buried and had to scramble like mad. Ashglade Yawned while still trying to scramble up the pile of words, hoping that the swablu wasn't too busy to see.

Pera did notice the Yawn. Paralysis was making movement very hard -- her muscles cramped, and, too many times she had almost gone down in the pool of words. But look at poor eggie! He must be tired from scrambling up all those words. Pera was starting to feel a little drowsy herself, but shook herself awake. Getting rid of the paralysis was definitely going to help. Her body started glowing, the light shining through the dark words falling from the sky, and the her limbs could, once again, move normally. She moved swiftly then, bursting through the words that had covered her during her short rest. She was starting to feel very sleepy, but there was still one thing left to do... The Swablu concentrated, and a dome of protective energy surrounded her. She looked around expectantly, waiting for an attack. Of course, there's no way little eggie would hurt her, but something strange might appear and attack. The rain of words continued falling onto the battlefield, and, although they bounced off the protective dome, they gradually piled up around the Swablu until she was completely buried.

The Togepi wasn't having a good time either. Yes, he was tired from trying not to drown in the words, but he would have to stop if he has to Chill, and stopping meant getting buried. He's not sure what exactly will happen when one gets buried with words, but instinct told him that being buried is bad, bad, bad. But, orders are orders, and Ashglade found a semi-comfortable spot and rested worrily. He could feel the words hitting him and blocking out the light, but it was nice to rest after all the excitement.

Pera yawned. She was getting so sleepy... So tired... It was nice and dark, too, under all the words... The protective energy faded and the Swablu fell into a slump on the pile of words, asleep. The words formed a little cave around her and did not collapse even after the protect had faded. Pera muttered something under her breath and clacked her beak. She jumped up, seemingly alert, and ran around in circles in the little cave with a bit of difficulty. After she was done, she collapsed onto the words again, still asleep, but now with two more Swablus accompanying her.

Slightly refreshed by his brief rest, Ashglade found himself unable to move. The words had piled on top of him, and he was packed in tight -- he could wiggle his limbs, yes, but he could not get out. The darkness was disconcerting, but, although his body was immobile, his mind was not. Ashglade's eyes started glowing, and reached out with his mind and found a dream nearby. It contained, to his surprise and annoyance, a Swablu dancing around in a circle with... is that Ashglade himself?

Pera whimpered in her sleep. It was a nice dream, it was, with nice bright blue skies and little eggie. Then all of a sudden, it turned dark, and little eggie started growing and growing. The spikes on the Togepi's head lenghthened, and the egg gained a row of vampire teeth. The sun seemed to have been ripped out of the sky as the dream quickly deteriorated into a nightmare.

All of a sudden, the rain of words stopped. The arena seemed to have changed completely -- a huge layer of black text covered the surface, tall enough so that even the buildings in the city were completely buried. There was a dead silence as the two trainers faced each other, both their pokemon and the referee buried under the debris. A rumble sounded, louder and louder, then all the words disappeared, leaving the two trainers, pokemon, and one neon pink schoolbus falling through thin air. The neon pink schoolbus seemed to realize that it was not supposed to be there, for it sprouted wings and flew out of the arena as quickly as a schoolbus could. The two pokemon and trainers, however, fell to the ground with a thump while cursing gravity. It seemed like a miracle that the trainers and pokemon survived the fall, but it was all in a day's work for the Chaos Engine. The referee, however, was unharmed as it waved the referee flags (which have shrunk to normal size but multiplied by a factor of pi) "And so round whatever plus two ends!"

Pera and her clones were still asleep, although bruised by the rough landing. Ashglade was not much better off, but at least he was awake.

And so another round starts with the referee waving (or attempting) to wave her ever-changing referee flags (they have now shrunk to normal size, but had turned into two bright red fish. Actually, they might not even be flags and just two random red fish the referee happened to pick up.) The ever-familiar whirl of the Chaos Engine could be heard in the distance. There was a small tinkering sound, and a neon pink schoolbus materialized in the middle of the field, right between the two battlers. The referee blinked, a bit confused. The neon pink schoolbus was appearing a bit too frequently to seem chaotic; but of course, this is chaos we're talking about here. Chaos can do whatever it wants and it would still be called chaos, because, hey, what's the chance of a neon pink schoolbus apperaing three rounds in a row in a regular arena?

With a wave of the flags and the (not) mandatory shout, the battle begun. Pera muttered something under her breath, still asleep. The two clones followed. Pera's peaceful sleeping face suddenly contorted in seemingly anger and she snarled angrily. Of course, Ashglade couldn't see her from behind the neon pink schoolbus, but he could hear the Growl and felt a tinge of fear. Even asleep and fluffy, the bird might cause some problems... It's best to procede with caution. The Togepi's body sparked, and jolts of electricity shot out of the egg pokemon. The electricity jumped along the ground and under the neon pink schoolbus, and Ashglade soon heard a satisfying squeal as the bolt hit its mark. Pera shuffled uncomfortablly, still asleep, as her two clonesdisappeared in a spark of electricity.

The bird muttered something again and lifted her cotton wings. With a few flaps, she lifted off the ground and lifted off, drifting higher and higher into the sky while still snoozing. Ashglade watched, amused. How can the bird still fly when it's asleep? As the bird turned to a mere speck in the sky, Ashglade had another question: How was he going to hit the bird when he can't even see it anymore? Well, either way, he was going to try; he was pretty tired, yes, but he's pretty sure he can still use another attack before he should Chill. Calling up the ancient spirits again, he summoned them to go after the bird. Groans of complaint could be heard as ghostly rocks trailed after the swablu, before simply giving up and falling to the ground. The spirits did not seem to be in good spirits today; getting thrown into a large city accidentally could do that to anyone. Ashglade sighed and plopped down on the ground for a quick rest.

There was a large gust of wind as a blue speck fell out of the sky at an extremely high speed while muttering something under its breath. Ashglade yelled out in pain as the bird smashed into him, beak first, then simply stayed on top of the Togepi as the bird continued to sleep away. Pera cooed gently, seeming having a nice dream for once, as Ashglade struggled out of the mess of feathers. He sat down, annoyed, and tried to rest again, although now he felt as if there's a whole through his body from where the bird had hit him, even though the attack had only caused a large dent in his shell and did not pierce all the way through his body.

The referee yawned and waved its referee flags, which had turned back into normal, regular flags. "Round end, yay. That was boring. And, oh, you can leave now." The neon pink schoolbus turned on its engine and dutifully drove off the arena again. "Try to be more interesting next time, will ya?" The referee called after the retreating back of the schoolbus.

And the referee turned into a cake.

Dragon (OO)
Togepi
Ashglade (M) <Serene Grace> @ Sooth Bell
Health: 67%
Energy: 31%
- Attack -1

Random Typhoon (OO)
swablu
Pera (F) <Natural Cure>
Health: 73%
Energy: 27%
- Attracted (moderate)
- Asleep (1 more action)

Notes:
  • Pera used Growl, Fly (up), and Fly (down) with her Sleep Talk.
  • The neon pink schoolbus did nothing besides existing.
  • There are even more holes on the battle field now, as well as some rocks littering about.
  • Chill did not gain as much energy as it should because Ashglade got hit by a Fly and it hurt. A lot.
  • AncientPower missed because Pera was Flying. And the die said 32 so no stat boost for Ashglade.
  • I blame school.
  • You should know who's attacking first next, but I'll say it because it's a formality and stuff: Dragon is attacking first next round.

Loooooks like we're kinda winning kinda losing, huh? And nuuuu Linoone is a cake ;_;
She'll turn back though, hopefully :3

Okaaaay looks like we're up first now, let's come up with a BRILLIANT STRATEGY SO WE CAN WIN OKAY Start with a Dream Eater if you go first and teh birdeh's still asleep, attack her energy! If she's awake, spam Yawn. For that next action where Pera's going to be awake fer sure, go with Yawn if you haven't yet, otherwise go go go Chill. Fiiiinish with another energy Dream Eater if the Swablu's asleep, if not go with Thunder Wave! Yes!

Dream Eater (energy)/Yawn~Yawn/Chill~Dream Eater (energy)/Thunder Wave

I'VE GOT A LUVVERLY BUNCH OF COCONUTS, THERE THEY ARE ALL STANDING IN A ROOOOOOW~
