Dragon vs Cryptica

Exdeath

Back again (maybe for good this time)!
2vs2 single
DQ Time: Three weeks
Damage Cap: 20%
Banned Moves: Weather Moves, Infatuation, Chills 8/Pokémon
Arena: Someone Else's House- Henesys City

Someone Else's House is a secret area in Henesys City, on Victoria Island. The arena is a plain flat field, with a floating platform hanging around ten feet in the air, above the battlers' heads. All around the circular area are ladders leading up to the floating platform. Pokémon can start on the top or bottom platform, but four-legged Pokémon have no way of getting to the top from the bottom. There is a 5% chance of the Mushmom appearing each round, doing each of the battling Pokémon 20% damage. The Mushmom goes away after attacking, and must appear once during the battle, maximum two times.

As of the release of Platinum, five machines with special motors for Rotoms were also released, and having a Rotom, Dragon snapped them up. Static was rather amused by these, destroying whatever Dragon would let it with the lawnmower, or burning things with the toaster oven. After a while, Static got bored of the new machines, and wanted something new. Calling up a friend, Dragon found someone with enough mechanical know-how to make a motor similar to the motor in the machines, and got them to make a new device for her destructive Pokemon.

Static was incredibly pleased with the chainsaw form, and uses it just as often as any of his other forms, if not more often. In its chainsaw form, Static is about two and a half feet long, with a metal blade that has jagged edges. The blade is connected to a sphere and box with the motor inside, and can't spin. Basically, a chainsaw.

Effects: Static has the chainsaw form added to the other forms it can become, and can choose to be a chainsaw at the beginning of a battle. Its form exclusive move is Flash Cannon, which can be used like any other move.

Machop, you say? Then I need to get some Flying types let's go go go with

[Static]Rotom(X)
Ability: Levitate

You can start out in... Fan/Flying mode~ This round will be simple, I guess <3 Air Slash x2, and finish up with Charge Beam. Let's try to raise SAtk~

Air Slash~Air Slash~Charge Beam

btw thanks for taking this, Prettzel~

Toko, this might be kind of tough, but I have an idea.

First, start out with Scary Face. You might get a bit of an advantage doing that. Afterwards, go ahead and use Payback. You ought to have taken some damage by then. Then use Foresight.

Scary Face~Payback~Foresight

Someone Else's House is a strange, warped area of Victoria Island. A platform appears to hover in the air, oblivious to basic laws of physics. The house that is this place's namesake appears to be fairly normal until closer inspection; the supposed door and windows are actually merely painted on to give the illusion of a house. In fact, Someone Else's House is not safe; strange monsters lurk about in the shadows, attacking anybody foolish enough to linger here. Certainly, this is not a place where any sane person would want to stay.

Naturally, you can expect to find trainers here.

Dragon stands under the floating platform, gazing around boredly and checking his watch every so often. Some time later, a figure appears in the distance, coming towards him. Cryptica jogs up to Dragon and the two wait for a referee to appear. They wait for a long time....a very long time. The two are just about to give up and leave when somebody finally appears. Exasperated, the two take their places on the opposite side of the arena, and send out their pokemon immediately, having given it plenty of thought beforehand. Cryptica sends out Toko the machop, who looks around apprehensively, unsure about this latest arena. Dragon responds with Static, a Rotom currently in some sort of electric fan. Static doesn't mind the arena half as much as Toko, instead looking forward to the battle. The trainers issue their commands, and the battle begins.

Round 1

The blades of Rotom's fan construct begin spinning rapidly, steadily building up speed; a patch of extremely fast wind builds up steadily in front of Static. Toko stares at Static's activity, confused—what's that ghost doing? He is taken off guard when the Rotom strikes the patch with one of its arms, creating a blade of wind that flies at Toko; the machop is bowled by the air slash, falling over backwards and now sproting a sizeable gash on her chest. For a moment, he simply lies on the ground, wincing in pain and shock; Toko is too rattled to think about making ugly faces for the moment.

Static chuckles lightly, amused at Toko's reaction. Silly little fighting type. Well, if it worked so well the first time, then what harm is there in repeating it? Toko hears the fan starting up again, and swallows his pain. He's got to make that dressed up appliance pay. A thin black glow surrounds the machop; undeterred, Static cheerfully follows through with his attack, the blade of air slicing across Toko's cheek. This time, the machop is ready. The black glow pulsates, fed by the pain that Toko has suffered. Static looks at Toko nervously and backs away. Maybe he should retreatohgodhe'scomingatme! Toko rushes Static, kicking and punching it form all angles in punishment for his pain. The machop cannot sustain his attack for long, however, and soon Static breaks away, startled at its opponent's sudden ferocity.

Still, that doesn't mean it should let up. The rotom concentrates, drawing energy from the air around itself and from its own reserves. The rotom pauses for a moment to aim before firing at Toko. The brilliant multicoloured beam slams into the machop's side. Unfortunately for Static, Toko has taken so much damage already that he barely feels the charge beam; the machop is dulled to the pain. Static doesn't mind terribly, though; there's quite a bit of residual energy from his attack within him, which could lend power to future attacks. Toko is already working on his next attack; a small red beam shoots out from his eyes, and the machop trains it on Static. The rotom is abruptly shunted into the physical plane, and no longer has an extended conciousness. Its newly physical state causes him to be forced out of his fan, which falls on its side, no longer possessed. Static pouts unhappily, miffed at this turn of events. That was totally uncalled for, and being solid is highly uncomfortable. Toko, for his part, is pleased—he knows that he'll now be able to hit Static with some proper attacks, and not with that 'dark energy' nonsense.

-Cryptica attacks first next round.

Moving first and moving last, it's not my forte to think too deep before going into battle. I'm impatient that way.

First, go with Focus Energy. You might be able to get in better attacks that way. Afterwards, use Revenge; it'll probably be more powerful than Payback, but it works just about the same. Let's hope that Rotom attacks.

Last, I've decided on Scary Face again. Hope it works this time.

But if the Rotom ever uses Confuse Ray or Thunder Wave, go with Encore. I'm evil that way.

'S gonna be a long battle DD: Clearly I made this challenge when I had no idea what the hell I was doing.

I'd like you to Snatch that Focus Energy away, since we're awesome like that, yup yup. >:3 If you can't do that, go with Shadow Ball, why not. Next, you can go with Toxic, heheh, and finish up with.. Thunderbolt. If we're lucky, we'll get a crit hit, what with that *theoretical* nice Snatched Focus Energy~

Snatch/Shadow Ball~Toxic~Thunderbolt

If you and Cryptica both want it, I could change the damage cap for future rounds.

Prettzel seems to be stuck under a very large block of sorts. A name tag floats underneath the block, spelling out "Writer's Block" in chunky yellow letters for the world to see. Dragon tried clicking on the block to see if it would disappear, but the dialog box that popped up only said "...." Not very helpful indeed. The trainer sighed and walked to the glowing portal, exiting the hidden street. A scream could be heard through the portal as angry Iron Pigs attacked Dragon. Cryptica just waited.

After seemingly forever, Dragon materialized in the portal, noticeably bruised. Behind her was a Linoone carrying two bright red referee flags in its mouth, somehow managing to curse without dropping the flags. Dragon walked back to her side of the battlefield while the Linoone walked in front the Writer's Block. It stood up on its hind legs and took the referee flags out of its mouth. "Round start!" It yelled, waving the referee flags.

Round 2

Static sighed. It liked the fan it was in! It was a nice fan, and that annoying muscle thing had to make it into a solid. The Rotom surrounded itself with a dark aura of energy. Stealing (or, in this case, Snatching) the muscle thing's next move would probably annoy him enough. Either way, revenge was imminent. Toko, on the other hand, was feeling quite satisfied. Now that the weird blob is solid, he could hit it more properly... But first, time to power up. Focusing his mind, Toko concentrated --- only to find his focus broken as the dark aura around said weird blob suddenly reached out and sucked away his energy. Static crackled evilly, feeling much better. The surroundings became much clearer, and it could focus a lot better, which was pretty great considering that it was still solid.

Toko wasn't too happy, considering the fact that his chest wounds hurt and his little energy boost just somehow disappeared. Stupid little blob, ruining his battle. The Machop focused on the Rotom, preparing himself for whatever the plasma ball is going to do. If that thing attacks, then...! Static only grinned and spat out a dark purple blob of nasty stuff that had been stuck in it when its trainer tried to toast some bread and Marmite while not realizing that the toaster was occupied by a sleeping plasma blob. The burnt bread and Marmite mix, complete with delicious carcinogens, hit the Machop right in the chest. The poison sunk into the open wounds and Toko hissed with pain, before lashing back at Static. His fist connected with the surprised Rotom and Static was sent flying back, before it stopped itself in midair and hovered back angrily. Static wasn't really used to being solid, and it was definitely not used to getting hit by a fighting attack. Toko winced in pain as he felt the poison sink into his body. Pain is good, he told himself as he stood up again.

Static was still cracking evilly. This will show him! Now the stupid muscle thing will know what was coming when he tried to drag it, the great and mighty Static, from the ghost world to this one! Mwahahaha... Uh. The Rotom focused the electricity making up his body into a single source and sent it flying at the Machop. The dazzling electricity flashed through the air and shocked the living daylights out of Toko. The Machop slowly picked himself up, dazzled and cramped, but still alive... Leftover electricity jumping off his skin, Toko glared at the Rotom, his face contorted with pain from the poison and the electricity. Static stopped in mid crackle. That Machop is scary! What in the world! It decided that it should watch out a bit...

The Linoone reappeared from the portal (nobody was quite sure when it had left), now wearing a pointy mage hat instead of its beret and sporting a shiny Maple Staff instead of its referee flags. "Round end~" It exclaimed, waving the Maple Staff about while the battlers stared at it in envy.

*waves Maple Daggers at you* LINOONE IS A MAPLER~

Alright! Start with a Thunder Wave, but if he tries to Protect/Detect/Safeguard and is ahead of you, set up a 10% sub. Uh.. if you haven't set up a Sub do so now, if you have, Charge Beam. If he Protect/Detects, set up a Reflect. Finally, if you've used Reflect use Psych Up, otherwise go with Reflect now.

And watch out for that Mushmom! ;O

Just 'cause, you can try a DynamicPunch first. We'll hope luck is on our side and the 50/50 accuracy works well. Of course, not everything is supposed to work out right, and if it doesn't work, you can back it up with a Karate Chop.

Also, you can learn Toxic by TM, so follow up with that :)

"Ack! Please refrain wave sharp and pointy objects at the referee!" The Linoone yelped, ducking before the excited Dragon could accidentally lop off its head with its Maple Dagger. True, people can't hit another in the Maple Story world, but it was still better safe than sorry. The Writer's Block did not budge and just said "...." as usual when Dragon clicked on it, so the trainers and Linoone promptly ignored the block and the referee stuck underneath. "Anyway, round start!" The Linoone subbing as a referee said, waving its shiny Maple Staff in the air, which now had two red referee flags tied to the top.

Round 3

Static, being a blob of plasma, was, of course, faster than the blob of muscle, even if a bit scared. Although the Rotom wasn't too keen on attacking the muscle blob at the moment (that face it just made a while ago was creepy...), it still quickly charged up a small jolt of electricity and sent it flying towards the Machop. The shiny, sparkly, and, if one looked closely, pixel-ey bolt struck the Machop in the chest, the electricity quickly jumping around and paralyzing him. Toko growled, mostly in surprise at his muscles' suddenly tensing up but also a bit in annoyance -- after all, he was already poisoned, and now this? Anger consumed him, and Toko concentrated all his power into his fist. His fist started to glow brightly as if he had just equipped some sort of shiny glove or something, and the Machop ran forward, intent on punching the daylights out of the Rotom. Static only crackled manically; after all, a fighting type can't hurt it, since it's part gho -- crap. Static quickly pulled its fan out of the raging Machop's way before it could get crushed and managed to dodge the attack. Toko's Dynamicpunch smashed into the ground and, surprisingly, left no marks. Then, of course, this is the Maple Story world, and attacks never leave marks on the ground. Toko growled again, this time in pure annoyance, then suddenly bent over in pain as the poisonous Marmite mix from before started to eat away at his wounds again.

Screw Marmite! Screw it all! Ahhhh! Toko seemed to have lost it. The Machop yelled and tensed the muscles in his hands (which was pretty easy, considering the fact that he's already tense from the paralysis) before lashing out at the Rotom -- only for him to hit something... strange. He removed his hand, only to see that his target had managed to escape again: a blob of glowing plasma that was most definitely not a rotom stared up at him, seemingly grinning with its shapeless mouth. Behind the Substitute, the real Rotom and its fan grinned at the Machop, protected by the Substitute Static had managed to make by frying some air molecules with electricity to ionize them, causing them to --

The referee was promptly whacked over the head and quickly apologized for ranting about physics.

The Machop still seemed to be spazzing out, probably due to the pain at his chest and the fact that his attack had failed to hurt the Rotom yet again. Static, however, was more calm now -- it could feel the effects of the Foresight fading slowly and was pretty confident that it won't be stuck in the physical plane for a lot longer. Humming some weird tune to itself, the Rotom reached out with its mind and found Toko's. The Rotom quickly copied down the Machop's mental state (not very reassuring) and physical state (slightly better), and felt much more confident about attacking the Machop now. No more hiding and being not very speedy for Static~ Yay~

Meanwhile, Toko had managed to secrete some poisonous extract that probably contains Marmite from the looks of it and spat it out at the Rotom, only for the Substitute to jump into the way. The Toxic slopped uselessly over the Substitute, which did not seem affected at all. Ugh. As if to make the situation worse, Static was finally freed from the Foresight's hold and slipped back into in the ghost plane. The blob of plasma buzzed happily and recombined with the fan it had been trying very hard to protect, now free to fire flying attacks again.

JFKSGNLAFNKLGNFSJHJFSK not good. I have somewhat of an idea though...

First. PAYBACK. GET ALL THAT PAYBACK. MWAHAHAHAHAHA okay, I'm done. *ahem* So, first go with a Payback on the substitute if you can... and that'll probably make it go away so after that take a break with another Foresight, and then a Revenge to duplicate the first attack with a different type. HOWEVER if the Rotom uses a status move or one that does no good if repeated, definitely Encore. If you have to use Encore on the second action, use Payback again instead of Revenge.
