• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

    Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

    Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Welcome, player! Glad you decided to visit Long-Eyed Field today. Long Eyed Field is a simply massive tract of land, stretching far as the eye can see. Adventure is not only restricted to land, however. There is a massive dome of pressurized air, a shallow pond, buzzing forests, and more.

How does it work?

You recieve one Poke Ball as soon as you enter the fields. Due to the many Pokemon living in this habitat, you aim in one of four directions: North, South, East, or West, which must be specified in your original post, along with the Pokemon you want to use to capture it, and the area you would like to visit. The Pokemon you recieve are randomized. Some areas, depending on their placement, would need a Pokemon with certian moves (i.e. Rock climb for a rocky-hilled terrain) in their movesets to access. Items are scattered liberally, and you may just stumble upon one.

The Bug Habitat: An area of tall grasses, alive with the sound of buzzing. This is one of the more common terrain tred, what with the mutiple Bug types. A few Grass types migrate here from time to time. Of course, with diet concerns, and the fact that a lot of said Grass types are pure grass, well...I don't think about that and neither should you.
Cost? 2$*

Required? No moves.

Common Pokemon: Venonat, Caterpie, Weedle, Metapod, Kakuna, Silcoon, Cascoon, Wurmple, Paras, Pineco, Kricketot, Burmy, Combee, Ladyba, Ledian, Yanma, Nincada, Spinarak, Turtwig, Grotle, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Treecko, Grovyle, Cherubi, Seedot, Cacnea, Tangela and Surskit

Rare Pokemon: Scyther, Heracross, Ninjask, Shedinja, Cacturne, Leafeon, Carnivine and Skorupi.

The Sandy Pit: A stretch of dry, coarse sand alongside the Bug Habitat. Many Ground and Rock types lurk in this area, the majority underground. For this reason, Dig is required to really get down and dirty.

Cost? 3$*

Required? Dig.

Common Pokemon: Sandslash, Diglett, Cubone, Phanpy, Hipopotas, Trapinch, Gligar, Wooper, Baltoy, Geodude, Nosepass, Bonsly, Lileep, Shieldon, Aron, Lairon, Sandshrew, Swinub, Piloswine, Claydol Rhyhorn, and Onix

Rare Pokemon: Graveler, Cranidos, Steelix, Larvitar, Probopass, Sableye

Hawkeye Pond: A shallow pond, Hawkeye Pond requires, surprisingly, no Water-types to actually get out there, seeing as the deepest parts in the middle of the pond happen to be waist height. Fish pokemon leap in and out of the water occasionally, and some lurk around the shore.
Cost? 3$*

Required? None.

Common Pokemon: Squirtle, Wartortle, Goldeen, Krabby, Corphish, Lotad, Lombre, Psyduck, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Marril, Feebas, Totdile, Croconaw, Mudkip, Marshtomp, Magikarp, Buizel, Shellos (both sides), Omanyte, Staryu, Barboach, and Slowpoke.

Rare Pokemon: Dratini, Gyrados, Floatzel, Gastrodon, Starmie, Blastoise, Swampert, Feraligatr and Omastar

Neutral Clearing: A just-cleared field with no grass whatsoever. It seems to attract Normal types quite frequently, due to it being a perfect place to suit their nature.

Cost? $4*
Required? None

Common Pokemon: Rattata, Raticate, Clefairy, Meowth, Persian, Porygon, Snorlax, Munchlax, Skitty, Delcatty, Slakoth, Teddiursa, Snubbull, Aipom, Igglybuff, Cleffa, Furret, Sentret, Linoone, Zigzagoon, Buneary, Loppuny, Glameow, Spinda, Azurill and Bidoof.

Rare: Smeargle, Dunsparce, Purugly, Stanler, Girafarig, Lickitung and Castform.

Sky Dome: A tall and slim dome of naturally occuring pressurized air. Fly is needed. The rules for this area are slightly different. Instead of the usual North, South, East, and West, you go up. You can go up five stages normally. A sixth stage is avilable with rarer ones, however due to height, an oxygen mask is needed which cost an extra dollar.

Cost? 4 dollars normally, 5 dollars with sixth stage and oxygen mask*

Required? Fly

Common Pokemon: Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Zubat, Golbat, Spearow, Fearow, Duodo, Dodrio, Farfetch'd, Hoothoot, Noctowl, Natu, Xatu, Murkrow, Skiploom, Delibird, Wingull, Swablu, Chatot, Drifloom, Starly, Staravia, Tailow, and Mothim

Rare Pokemon: Tropius, Skarmory, Togetic, Pelipper, and Areodactyl

* Per encounter. Meaning if that, for example, you decide to go South three times in Hawkeye Pond, this amouns to nine dollars. Would like to make this clear.
Start treading! :D

Right then.

Blastoise:
You chuck your ball west, your bulbasuar eagerly following suit.

*SMECK* The ball hits a Lombre, straight on the head! It's caught and you pick up your new partner.

Lorem Ipsum;

You wade farther into the lake, roughly notrth. Your Piplup seems roughly at home, splishing around. You spot movement! You toss the ball and...

Zapdos;

You trudge through the water, duly noticing your Mudkip dragging his headfin through the thin layer of mud at the bottom. It seems to have stirred up a Pokemon, and you throw your Pokeball at it.

Barubu;
You, like many others here, tred though the lake, this time making your way south. A pink head bobs out of the water. It's a Slowpoke, his eyes lazed and vacant. You toss your ball and-

*pock* the Slowpoke was caught!

Zapdos;

A repeat, huh? You're a bit more familiar with the terrian now, and you look all over west.

Bugger. Nothing came up. Guess it's not your lucky da-hey wait.
However, a light blue plate is visible, which you pick up and dust off. Huh. This might be useful.

Obtained Splash Plate.

Ruffledfeathers;

A newcomer to this pond you cautiously make your way east, spotting a slightly disgruntled boy. Hmm. You carry on anyway, Charlie clinging to your head; there's no way he's going to get wet, after all. You see a tail bobbing in the water; then a blue mouse belonging to said tail. Grinning, you chuck your Pokeball.
