The "soft wind" definition is what people most often know, but fewer people know that it was the name of... a dirigible I think. And even fewer people know that Zephyr is in fact a figure in Greek mythology-- he symbolizes the west wind, the gentlest and most favorable for sailors. The other winds are Borealis (North) and Australis (south), and I don't know the east. :/ He's also a servant of Eros.

So! Now you can know when people ask you. :P Have fun, and try spriting.

I had too look up etymology- a rare occurence for me :)
I'm afraid I still didn't know it, but I ended up checking it out. I know zephyr refers to a soft wind, but I wasn't sure why (I'm vaguely interested in languages and roots). It's actually pretty cool. Still appropriate, to me at least ;)
    Thanks for the welcome!
Oh yeah, and sorry for making you're head explode.

Many other places on the internet I go by the name of Zephyr. It's not a particularly uncommon name or anything, and you're definitely not the first other Zephyr I've met. (That makes two of you impostors, you and Zephyrous Castform... uh.) It's really no problem or anything, just I'll always do a double take when I see your name under "most recent poster," so...

Please tell me you know your name's etymology? Also, welcome to TCoD. :3
