I'm sorry for subjecting the battlers to one round of even more horrible prose

Forgot to mention this, and you're probably aware of it at this point but you have a DQ warning in your battle against Dragon. The official DQ time is around 11:30 AM tomorrow morning but I'd be fine extending it for a couple of hours or so, since I forgot to send you a VM about it.

I suppose that does make sense, but the only problem I'm seeing here is that Mistral is innately faster than Azuraine. There would be no need for Mistral to wait to see what Azuraine will do. It doesn't matter what Azuraine could do - Mistral doesn't need to know that to act. Both Pokemon go to attack; Based off of Dragon's commands, If Mistral moves first, she'll use Captivate. If she sees Azuraine moving first, then he's either using Protect or a priority move, and she'll react accordingly (Dragon Dance in the first case, Captivate in the second, since Dragon didn't specify.). I see no way in which Azuraine could pull off a sub before Mistral acted.

The chill point was cleared up, and I guess it doesn't work with infatuation. Current failure percent is still 50%, although it'll decrease to 25% on the fifth action (I ref severity levels dropping every four actions undisturbed).

And yes, that's pretty much how I saw it going, once the inevitable betrayal finally occurs.

    On the previous two questions:

I'm not entirely sure. Chill is characterized by having the Pokemon enter a relaxed state; however if the Pokemon is unable to enter that state due to exterior factors the move would simply fail. I'll post to the question box for clarification but my gut instinct is no.

The attack decrease wouldn't be put back into effect. Even when attract subsides it's highly unlikely that Azuraine would feel any type of fear towards Mistral. Most likely just anger.

My understanding is that Protect doesn't require the opponent to wait, because the Pokemon using Protect will almost always go first. Dragon's commands are essentially: "Use Captivate, but if he protects (which would happen before Mistral would even be able to use Captivate) then use Dragon Dance instead."

As far as the unreachable part, I think that's implied to refer to the later actions - since Mistral would move first (unless the protect happened), there's no way that Azuraine would be unreachable on the first turn.

Well, Mistral is much faster than Azuraine, and I don't see anything in Dragon's commands that would make Mistral wait. Even the Dragon Dance condition specifically excludes substitute. So, in short, no. Mistral would still move first.

I thought avalanche was just straight ice? If not, I still view Avalanche as needing a source, unless the Pokemon using it is capable of generating ice/water. I suppose pieces of stage could suffice for rocks, but Dragon conveniently got rid of all the water. A comet might work, although I have no idea how Azuraine would bring one to the stage or influence it, even if it was fairly close by.

EDIT: Wait, Azuraine can use Ice Beam. The rocks are still the main issue, though. The use of a comet still might still work.

blazhy told me you've been having issues connecting due to winter hell, yeah. Don't worry about it. I'll try to keep your battles reasonably on schdule until everything's working properly there.
