Listening to The Rite of Spring in all its fantastical, heart-attack-causing glory is one thing. Seeing it performed in a ballet - which, according to some, was the real reason for the riot at its premiere; its ballet was just as strange for the time period as its music was - is completely and utterly discomforting and almost scary.

Before I link to the recording, I must give you what I knew about the ballet beforehand, so you can have the same horrified reactions I did at certain points.

I knew the ballet was about a girl dancing herself to death as a sacrifice to ancient Russian pagan gods. And I knew the names of each individual movement:
Part I: L'Adoration de la Terre/Adoration of the Earth
    1. Introduction
    2. Les Augures printaniers/Augurs of Spring
    3. Jeu de rapt/Ritual of Abduction
    4. Rondes printanières/Spring Rounds
    5. Jeux des cités rivales/Ritual of the Rival Tribes
    6. Cortège du sage: Le Sage/Procession of the Sage: The Sage
    7. Danse de la terre/Dance of the Earth
    Part II: Le Sacrifice/The Sacrifice
    8. Introduction
    9. Cercles mystérieux des adolescentes/Mystic Circles of the Young Girls
    10. Glorification de l'élue/Glorification of the Chosen One
    11. Evocation des ancêtres/Evocation of the Ancestors
    12. Action rituelle des ancêtres/Ritual Action of the Ancestors
    13. Danse sacrale (L'Elue)/Sacrificial Dance

With all that in mind, here is the recording I watched of the ballet, and according to what I know of French and the ballet itself, this is actually the original 1913 choreography.

There was a moment in the second act at which I literally muttered, "Shit. Shit." I wonder if you will pick up on which moment that was?

Also I don't care about riots starting in NYC or LA 'cause I don't live there. A Philadelphia riot might hurt me, though...

And Wall Street doesn't care about sentiency, they just need people to buy stuff.

And I'm sure the W3C will take the proper preventative measures.

Now, as for the VMWare, Inc. company...

That shall not be spoken of.

<Music_Dragon> well, it's a bit more complex than that.
<Eifie> yeah, I'm not so sure how much of that is real
<Veheeyem> Just imagine for a second though
    <MF> people, you're being irrational
    <Eifie> that's not a natural age
<Veheeyem> whoa take it easy, what's the root of all this negativity?
