• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    Everyone's racist

I figured this is relevant and unlike the Avenue Q song it isn't brought up in every single conversation that has to do with racism (in fact I can't even find the studio version on the youtubes). ... yep that's all.

    Everyone's racist

I lived in NY when I was a kid and now live in Israel.

    Everyone's racist

Subconscsious =/= unconscious, and I don't believe either exists.

    Everyone's racist

I have to disagree about generalizations (based on race or anything). If you eventually learn they're incorrect, that's good, but they are a form of racism. Like (I think) I said before, I also don't have any concept of those generalizations. I never even heard that 'Asians are nerds' until #1...

    Everyone's racist

I agree with those lines of thought aside from, obvious by this point, that most people = everyone. And now I'm becoming repetitive, so.

    Everyone's racist

Ah, but that's the problem. Your line of thought is assuming people do think something. Mine is they don't necessarily. Therefor, like for example atheism, my line of thought is the default. So you must have some evidence, a reason, to assume that every person (or most people, at least) think...

    Everyone's racist

"Most people" works just fine. I'm... honestly not sure what you're saying here. I assume that by inverse you mean opposite, and by that you mean that I assume no one is racist, which is a ridiculous assumption, so I'm confused. Also your quoted posts make just as little contextual sense. I'm...

    Everyone's racist

But what you're doing there is a form of generalizing.

    Everyone's racist

But how can you possibly know how every person thinks? Every person?

    Everyone's racist

I'm not disturbed at your apparently racist thoughts so much as your conclusion that everyone must think this way. It's a nice way of comforting yourself, but it's just false.

    Everyone's racist

Dude, wtf. No, I haven't thought any of those. Seriously, wtf. Yeah, I'm at a loss for words. :|

    Everyone's racist

Sorry, but no. Not everyone racially stereotypes. Personally, I'm not even aware of what the racial stereotypes are, so I certainly can't assume them when meeting someone of a different race. I find it ridiculous that people think they can make such wide generalizations. 'Everyone' doesn't do...

    Everyone's racist

But, opal, how do you know that everyone is racist? I mean, I'm pretty sure that I'm not. I don't want to say with certainty that I'm not because I'm not sure what evidence you're using to say that everyone is, definitively, racist... but it seems just as ridiculous to say that everyone is...
