Gogogo Lexington. Show this loser who's boss.

Start off with a Sunny Day; follow with a Thunderbolt, and finally use Solarbeam.

If Sunny Day isn't up for whatever reason when your third action comes around, use a Hyper Voice.

Mud Sport. Followed by Rain Dance, then a Hydro Pump if it's raining, or a Protect if it's not.

All is quiet on the outskirts of the city, save for the rushing of water, general Flying-type chatter, and a blaring car alarm in the background. Yep, all is quiet.

Further interrupting the non-existent silence is a subdued 'whoomph', and a flash of bright light; from it a sickly-green young man appears, clutching the robotic arm of a Ralts. He hates Teleporting.

He also was dressed in a black sweatsuit with a large red 'R' on it, along with a gaudy purplish wig. After several minutes of expectant waiting, the referee spots what it is that he's waiting for.

Coming up the river on a rather large round whale is a cross-legged boy in a plastic sunhat, blue shorts, and a white shirt. Both of the assembled ASBers' eyes light up when they spot one another, the boy in the Bug Catcher costume leaping off of his Wailmer and rushing over. They chat amiably for a bit about the wild costume party they had just been to.

In another flash of light and sound, the third participant appears, clutching a League-issued Abra to his chest. The boy appears to have fared better than the referee in the way of teleportation, and quickly recovers. The trainers take their places on either shore of the island, with the referee clambering into a convenient-but-gnarled tree. After a quick-but-awkwardly-executed coin flip and a short spat over its correctness, Sage Noctowl grudgingly pulls out a Pokéball and tosses it.

After a moment of blinding white light, the form of a Mudkip coalesces onto the sandy grass. He smiles in delight as he takes in his surroundings, but soon settles into a loose battle stance.

Kam adjusts his awesome hat and tosses out his choice; this time, the light forms into the outline of a Sentret. She glares at the Mudkip and grins in anticipation for the upcoming fight.

After a brief glance at his clipboard and a sigh (Blastoise knew that they both had Mudkipz and he lieked Mudkipz and he would have lieked a Battle Royale of Mudkipz even more), the referee signals for the battle to begin.

Ooh, Mud Sport? That sounds fun to Keith. He trots rather quickly over to the nearby riverbank and plops himself down in the saturated sand, rolling around in the wet grit and coating himself in the stuff. He stands up again, grinning a bit and covered in goopy sand. This is a good battle so far, as far as Keith is concerned.

Lexington glares condescendingly at her opponent. What does he think this is, a playground? This was a battle; they were supposed to fight. Or at least do something productive. Lexington would just have to show that Mudkip how he was supposed to act. The Sentret bounces up onto her tail, waving her arms at the sun above. The sun apparently takes notice of this, growing brighter than normal and sending down a searing heat. This was apparently Lexington's aim, as she lowers herself back to the ground with a contented smirk.

Well, this is depressing from Keith's point of view. The sun is drying his skin out, and he could swear that the mud around him is beginning to dry as well... Good thing he cand fix it. Keith begins an arcane dance, minute amphibian muscles rippling with effort. The sun just seems to give up after this second demand upon it and decides to go on vacation. Its temporary replacement seems to be a group of angry purple-grey clouds. A downpour begins, increasing the river's speed a bit and making a certain Mudkip much happier. Keith grins for a moment in his cleverness, but then notices something; his beautiful mud-coat is being washed off by the drizzle!

Lexington squeals annoyedly, watching her Sunny Day go to waste. This just can't go unpunished. Taking advantage of the new meteorological conditions, the Sentret sends a coil of crackling blue energy into the sky. Almost immediately a much larger bolt of blue Electric energy snaps downwards from the sky and hits its target; a little blue Water-type who happens to be named Keith. Although his coating of sandy mud has eroded quite a bit at this point, it still offers some resistance to the lightning trying to course its way through Keith's amphibious form. The Mudkip convulses for a moment but recovers and stands back up on all fours. All things considered, it could have been worse and he's glad to have been let off with a bit of pain and a mild-but-throbbing headache.

That's not to say that Keith doesn't want some form of payback, and according to his trainer's orders, he's going to get it. The Mudkip takes in a deep breath, aims his muzzle at the smug-looking Sentret, and lets loose a highly pressurized jet of water. As the Hydro Pump hits home, Lexington is knocked backwards several feet and crashes into the ground, still being pounded mercilessly by the Mudkip's Water-type assault. After a few moments of this, Keith stops firing and Lexington is able to stand shakily to her feet.

Well, Lexington was at least glad that this was a proper battle now. No more rolling around in mud, nosiree. Now it's her turn to respond in kind. Hopping up onto her tail with practiced ease, the Sentret opens her mouth wider than it seems possible and lets loose a wail that would make a banshee's sound like a faint whining noise. Grass is flattened, raindrops fly away from her in a wave, and every car alarm in the immediate area begins imitating the Sentret's scream.

The practical effect of this, of course, adds up to three very painful pairs of human ears and and even more agonized head-fin belonging to Keith. The Mudkip collapses and attempts to hover his fin to no avail. After about half a minute of sustained howling, Lexington finally stops and drops back down onto her legs, leaving Keith to whimper about his poor fin.

With his fin still vibrating maddeningly from that Hyper Voice, Keith has plenty of anger to spend on his opponent, and is glad to here that his trainer has given him the chance. He breathes deeply for a brief moment and then rushes unexpectedly at Lexington, sinking tiny-but-sharp teeth into the brown-furred flesh of his opponent and kicking her wildly, as if he's putting everything he's got into the attack.

Under the barrage of heavy blows and bites, Lexington is quite surprised; she hadn't expected her opponent to recover this quickly. And this rain was just dreadful in and of itself.

Keith lets up in his attack, panting and shaking at his knees. That had felt good, but now he just wants to go lay down in the river and rest or something. Well, at least that Sentret sees to be giving him a breather...

And indeed she is. In a repetition of an earlier move, she leaps up and down on her tail as if trying to get the sun's attention. Reluctantly, the clouds part and reveal Sol, back from her vacation and ready to shine brightly again.

Well, know, Keith thinks, this just won't do! He was being all wet and stuff and know she was going to take his rain away! Well, at least the Sentret wouldn't be drying off anytime soon. A gargling noise can be heard issuing from the Mudkip's mouth for a moment before ...

Lex launches herself towards Keith, making to slam into him. Keith puts up his card, hoping to dodge, but the Sentret reverses direction at the last possible second, slicing into the Mudkip's soft skin and running promptly away. Lexington vaporizes into a beam of red light, and Keith is left to look dazedly at were she just was.

Humming a tune to himself, Kam plucks a Pokéball from his belt, checking the little serial number on the hinge to make sure it's the right one, and pitches it onto the field. It hits the ground once with a hollow bink, and then leaps back into the air, It halts nonsensically in middle of its arc and snaps open, a ray of greyish-white energy zooming out of it and stopping at the ground. The light coalesces quickly into the shape of an acorn, a rather large one in fact. The light disappears, and in its place is left a short, armless Grass-type.

Blastoise, now reclining carefully in his tree, grabs one of his flags and waves it around, signifying this round's start.

Godot shakes himself out of his reverie, smirking somehow without a mouth. This would be easy. Solarbeam plus Mudkip plus Sunny Day equals victory, so far as he is concerned. Relishing the speed the sun has gifted him with, Godot's helmet glows a bright, natural green as the sunlight seems to be drawn towards him. Keith has only enough time to begin his attack, a sparkly coating of rainbow covering him from head to foot, before the animate acorn releases the pent-up solar power in the form of a thick column of verdant light.

For a moment or two, Keith is bathed in a blinding laser of green; soon enough, however, the attack ends, leaving Keith reddened and chapped all over from horrible sunburn. That's not to say, however, that his skin has lost all luster, as the barely-noticeable prismic glow from before has matured into a rainbow covering, seething with absorbed energy. With a pained grin, the Mudkip releases the mirrored attack, a greenish-white beam, almost identical to a Solarbeam, flying from the Water-type to the Seedot. Although silent as ever, Godot inwardly screams in pain as the multiplied-in-power attack rips through his cellulose-tastic body.

Keith, seeking to fix his broken and parched skin, begins painfully limping towards the nearby water. Noticing this and rolling himself back onto his feet, Godot lowers his head, and after a moment a quick succession of yellow, glowing seeds pop out of his cap, each moving almost too fast to track with the naked human eye. Each one, miraculously, hits its mark, all of them slamming into the Mudkip's tender, painful skin and irritating it even further.

Squealing in pain and discomfort, Keith staggers the last few feet to the shore and thankfully dives in, water soothing his skin somewhat. Feeling himself being carried away by the current, the Mudkip begins swimming against it subconsciously.

Godot, meanwhile, begins gathering strands of green energy from the earth around him, flowing from trees, the grass, and even the moss growing on a large rock. The threads of grass-green energy weave together in front of the Seedot, forming a sphere of life energy. The Grass-type stumbles forward to the shore, aiming the attack at what he thought might be the Mudkip. The Energy Ball zoomed away from Godot with a sound akin to a happy Combee, quickly passing into the water with a hiss.

Godot's aim was completely off, of course, due to factors like refraction and the angle and all that, but by some miracle of Mew it heads straight for Keith, who up until now has been happily enjoying the cool water. The Energy Ball sinks into his still-somewhat-irritated skin, burning it again with Grass-type energy. The last of the air in Keith's lungs bubbles out in shock, but it's okay because of his gills.

The Mudkip is getting rather fed-up with all of this sun and green stuff and sun and so he bobs to the surface, repeating his oft-used Rain Dance move but this time in the water. Cumulus curtains obscure the sun once again and pour rain forth anew. Keith continues bobbing around like a cork, happy as the proverbial Clamperl, while Godot feels his chloroplasts shutting down in the absence of sunlight.

The referee holds a flag above his head and tries to scuttle farther into the tree in hopes of not ruining his amazing purple wig.

Keith sighs invisibly, as no bubbles are left in his lungs had to get out already? Come on, Sage, just five more minutes. Still, nothing good ever comes from ignoring your trainer, and so Keith paddles reluctantly up to the riverbed and pulls himself out of the water with dumbfounding speed. At least there's one good part about his orders, the Mudkip thinks as he begins charging headlong at his opponent. It meant he'd get payback for that last attack of Godot's. Moving like a little blue bullet, Keith lets out a little war cry as he crashes astoundingly hard into his opponent, putting every ounce of pain and suffering that he's experienced this battle into the attack.

With a silent scream, Godot flips head-over-nonexistent-heels into a scraggly, half-dead bush. Looking as irate as a nearly-faceless acorn can, the Seedot rolls onto his little feet and dives right back onto the ground, rotating like a top... or possibly more like a drill. In a hurricane of sandy mud and grass, the Grass-type disappears into the ground, leaving a damp and clumpy hole behind him*.

Keith looks as angry as a Gyarados as he prepares his next attack, obviously annoyed at his opponents quick escape. A gargling sound issues from the mudfish Pokémon as a vile mixture of toxins and bacteria boils up in his mouth. He stumbles over to the hole's opening, peering into the forty-five-degree gap in the ground (alliteration is fun!). He vomits up his potion of poisons (see?) into the pit, and the pile of putrid prokaryotic poison-makers soars through the air and into the Seedot's den...

...only to land on the floor of the Seedot's dugout, a foot or two away from Godot himself. Although rain water splatters constantly into the hole, the thick and goopy poisons are gelatinous enough to bear the brunt of the rain. The Seedot's eyes widen in amusement as he allows his own toxinous substances to collect like an oversized dewdrop on his cap. He stumbles forward and begins to climb up his tunnel's incline...

...only to slip forward after running onto Keith's missed Toxic attack. For the second time in as many attacks, Godot flies off of his feet and lands on his negligible face, smearing himself with Toxic and his own attack plopping uselessly onto the ground as well. He groans inwardly as the toxins soak into his body.

Now it's Keith's turn to giggle to himself, delighted at this turn of events. Now that his opponent is indisposed, the Mudkip supposes that it is a good time to set up a substitute. Keith pulls some grass out of the ground with his teeth, mixing it with some handy wet sand from Godot's Dig. In no time flat, he's made a quadruped with a lump on its head that vaguely resembles a fin, an impressive feet for a thumbless amphibian in the heat of battle. He quickly slips a bit of energy into his creation, and begins glowing blue without noticing. Content for now, Keith plops happily to the ground and enjoys the rain plopping on his damaged and chapped skin. The rough copy follows his movements as best it can.

Godot once again rolls into a standing position, nauseous from the Toxic attack. He begins piling mud into a ball, carefully avoiding the puddle of poison. He tiredly pours energy and strength into the slightly-acorn-shaped blob and then sighs, waiting resignedly for more pain.

Keith grins happily, trotting over to his beloved riverbed with his Substitute following muddily behind. He stomps his feet in a sort of riverdance and soon, the water is positively frothing around his feet, throwing up angry foam. It coalesces into a humongous wave and swings forward, slamming into Keith's substitute along the way. The wave slams into the general area of Godot's dugout, depositing Keith and a pile of deanimated mud on the surrounding grass. The water drains into the hole, filling it completely. Before the waterlogged Grass-type's eyes, his Substitute washes away as he himself is slammed hard against the hole's wall.

Godot panics, an age-old instinct filling him with dread despite his lack of a need to breath. He begins to kick to the surface when the hole collapses, sand and grass filling the opening at the top. Having nothing better to do, Godot thrashes around in the water, a pale green glow enveloping him. Aboveground, the sun brightens once again, begrudgingly shining her rays upon the meteorologically disastrous island.

Keith stomps his feet again, this time in anger. He was about Arceusdanged tired of this stupid ugly seedling ruining his precipitational parties. Time for something a tad more... powerful. Keith glows even more blue than he has so far, the chilly white-blue aura flickering. It zooms into the sky suddenly, and not four seconds later large clumps of ice begin to fall from the cloudy sky. The hailstones dig into Keith's flesh, but he doesn't care; that stupid Seedot wasn't going to melt this anytime soon.

Under the ground, Kam's Pokémon once again twists and churns in the water, this time in the hopes of gaining some attacking power (Arceus knows how he'll use it down here). His eyes glaze over, or seem to at least, and when he's finished he's a lot calmer and exudes as much power as can be expected from a waterlogged acorn.

Keith would rub his hands together if he had them. Now it was time to freeze that little... Hey, wait, how was he meant to freeze Godot if he was stuck underground? Hmm... Oh, well, he'd have to settle for freezing the ground above Godot. The Mudkip walks over to the waterlogged area where the hole used to be, dodging hailstones as best he can, and exhales sharply, flurries of snow and crystals of ice flying out from his mouth. The blast of freezing-cold air hits the water-soaked ground and freezes it solid almost instantly, leaving a layer of permafrost on the ground below him along with a pile of clumpy snow.

It seems Godot is having similar troubles with his next command, and his are also caused by the collapsed entrance... Oh, well, he'll have to at least try to escape, or Kam will be very angery. The Seedto kicks his feet, builds up some speed by swimming for a few seconds, and then spins, attempting to drill back out...

And promptly smashes his helmet against an inches-thick layer of permafrost. He would howl if he could, but as it is Godot just floats in the water defeatedly.
