DarthWaffles vs Eonrider (Ref: Negrek)

2vs2 Single
Style: Set
DQ time: Standard Week
Damage Cap: 35%
Banned Moves: Weather Moves, Attract, Rest, 1 instant recovery/pokemon and 4 'chills'/pokemon.

Arena: Mega-Ultra Box
The Mega-Ultra box is as its name suggests, a box. There is no exit, and no possible way to leave. The box is made of Chucknorrisium, which is completely immune to absolutely everything, so damaging the box is impossible. Thus, Dig is unusable, despite that its not banned. The box quite spacious, almost as large as half a soccer field, and being about 10m high. Therefore, Fly is usable, but you can't fly to a really impressive height.

Effects: Every action, there is a 1% chance that Chuck Norris' aura will amplify on his very own mineral, and may exert increased Chuck Norris levels. If this happens, a Mini – Roundhouse Kick will be delivered to anyone that may be inside the box, including trainers and referees(If it hits them nothing significant happens, save pain). If this hits a pokemon however, it deals 5% typeless damage and moves them to the bottom of the priority bracket that turn.

Whee! Thanks for reffing Negrek.

Hmmm...Lets go, Stamford.

Alrighty, lets get some set-up going on. Start with a Confuse Ray, then follow up with a Toxic to get some damage racking up. Finish it all off with a Stealth Rock.

If at any point the opponent tries to status you, go for a Safeguard before it hits. (That is possible right? If you can't, don't worry about it.) If the opponent Safeguards, replace Confuse Ray and Toxic with Light Screen and Grass Knot repectively.

Mwahahaha, FOIL TIME!

Alright, Relic, statuses are nasty, aren't they. Safeguard. Then, levitating Bronzor can be problematic. Fix it with Gravity. Lastly, We'll get rid of anoying rocks. Wait until it uses Stealth Rock, then Rapid Spin.

Safeguard~Gravity~(wait for Bronzor)Rapid Spin

I can do that, right? Oh, and are we allowed to use HG/SS tutor/egg moves?

How exactly the trainers managed to end up in the Mega-Ultra Box is a mystery. After all, there are no entrances or exits, and even the more exotic means of breaching its thick walls, such as teleport, are mysteriously ineffective. Nevertheless, the three of them have somehow found their way here and stand gawking around at the vast empty space, the imposing silver walls that spring up on all sides and form the floor and ceiling. No one seems particularly worried about being trapped in the gigantic box, though; in fact, two of the trainers immediately square off for a fight and the third wanders over to the sidelines to act as referee. While pokémon are released behind her, she tentatively reaches out and gives the nearest wall a careful poke. It buzzes faintly beneath her finger, humming on the frequency of pure awesome, and seems to actively push back on her arm. The referee raises an eyebrow, then shrugs and turns around to pay attention to the unfolding battle.

In the middle of the box two pokémon have appeared: on DarthWaffles' side floats Stamford the bronzor, and opposite is Relic the baltoy. The two synthetic pokémon aren't the most expressive ever; in fact, if they feel any emotion at all about the start of the battle, they give no indication of it. They simply remain still and quiet as their trainers give commands and remain that way until, at last, the referee gives the signal to begin the battle in earnest.

Round One

Stamford (X) <Levitate>
Health: 100%
Energy: 100%
Commands: Confuse Ray/Safeguard/Light Screen ~ Toxic/Safeguard/Grass Knot ~ Stealth Rock/Safeguard
- Calm and collected.

Eonrider (OO)
baltoy
Relic (X) <Levitate>
Health: 100%
Energy: 100%
Commands: Safeguard~Gravity~(wait for Bronzor)Rapid Spin
- Rotating slowly about its axis.

Before Stamford can so much as think about starting up an attack, Relic's eyes flash blue, and a flickering green aura springs up around its body, promising to defend it against any status attacks Stamford might plan to send its way. Seeing that a confuse ray would be futile, the bronzor sets up its own protective barrier: a golden bubble of light surrounds it, the light screen glinting off the mirrored body of the pokémon it protects.

Relic's next course of action is to ground its inexplicably floaty opponent. Once again its eyes begin to glow blue, though this time the radiance is sustained for a longer period of time--amplifying gravity is more difficult than throwing together a safeguard, after all. The air seems to grow heavy and oppressive with psychic power as the baltoy extends the power of its mind over a wide radius, chipping patiently away at the fundamental laws of the universe, amplifying the effects of gravity to an unnaturally high level. Stamford initially struggles as its metal body suddenly becomes much heavier than before, trying to strengthen the electromagnetic currents running through its body that ordinarily keep it aloft, but it is no use. The strain is too much, and the bronzor drifts gently to the ground, landing on the metal floor of the box with a faint clink.

To make matters worse, Relic's safeguard persists, but there seems to be no vegetation about out of which to fashion a suitable grass knot. At a loss for what to do, Stamford can only rest where it is for the moment and get ready for its next attack. Its own psychic power sweeps out over the arena, picking up small bits of dirt and sand and crushing them into passable chunks of rock. The makeshift stealth rock is then reeled in, and Stamford arranges the little chunks of makeshift stone in a ring around Relic.

The baltoy is hardly impressed. Its usual revolutions pick up speed until it is no more than a blur, a harsh wind whipping up around it as it spins ever faster. The stealth rock is blasted away in all directions as Relic spins forward like a top, smacking into Stamford with a solid "clang." The rapid spin is a fairly weak attack, though; the bronzor hardly looks bothered by it at all, though the loss of its carefully-crafted stealth rock is annoying.

DarthWaffles (OO)
bronzor
Stamford (X) <Levitate>
Health: 99%
Energy: 94%
Commands: Light Screen ~ Nothing ~ Stealth Rock
- Irritated. Protected by light screen (2 more actions).

Eonrider (OO)
baltoy
Relic (X) <Levitate>
Health: 100%
Energy: 90%
Commands: Safeguard~Gravity~(wait for Bronzor)Rapid Spin
- In excellent shape. Protected by safeguard (2 more actions).

Final Notes
- Yes, Eonrider--pokémon can use any attack that they can learn from any source.
- There is no vegetation in the arena to use for grass knot.
- There aren't any rocks, either, so Stamford produced an improvised, weaker version of stealth rock. Not that it mattered.
- Eonrider attacks first next round.

Okay, that worked, didn't it? Relic, now that it's grounded, we can Earthquake it to smithereens. However, if it Protects or does something that means Earthquake won't hit, use Reflect. If you've already used Reflect, use Light Screen. If you've used both, Double Team, 3 clones.

Ughh, that didn't go 100% did it now? No matter, we've still got a good chance to win this.

That Earthquake is going to hurt, isnt it? Oh well. You'll have to take it. But, let's take advantage of Gravity binding Baltoy to the ground, and let loose an Earthquake of our own.

After that, we don't want to take too many Earthquakes, do we? Let's use Imprison to lock it down.

Now that that's over, his Safeguard should be down, so lets throw a Toxic his way.

And that should about do it.

Earthquake ~ Imprison ~ Toxic

Also, I think you forgot to mention how much longer Gravity will last.

Relic isn't done irritating Stamford yet, though. It spins back to the position it took up upon being released, then makes a surprising jump into the air, landing hard and channelling a blast of power down into the metal beneath it as it does so. In response, tremors ripple out from the baltoy's point of impact, knocking Stamford onto its back. The rumble of earthquake is accompanied by a long series of clangs as Stamford is bounced around the floor of the arena, its shiny metal surface acquiring numerous hairline fractures as it encounters the unyielding surface of the Chucknorrisium.

The earthquake eventually dies away, and a burst of psychic energy allows Stamford to rise back to its usual point of balance on its edge. Then the bronzor, too, hurls itself into the air, coming down hard and setting off an earthquake of its own. This time it is Relic sent bouncing and rolling unceremoniously around on the floor, though the clay pokémon is far less susceptible to the effects of the attack than Stamford.

As soon as that earthaquake ends, Relic rights itself and sends another wave of tectonic distress radiating around the arena. Stamford actually finds this one more mild than the first, whether because it had a chance to brace itself for the attack or because it is actually less powerful. Nevertheless, the bronzor is noticeably cracked and battered as this earthquake comes to an end. Desperate to put an end to the baltoy's vicious offense, Stamford picks itself back up and taps into its psychic power, weaving a spell around its unsuspecting opponent. As the imprison takes hold, both the shimmering green of Relic's safeguard and Stamford's golden light screen flicker and die, leaving the pokémon unprotected.

Trapped in the invisible web of Stamford's imprison, Relic finds it has inexplicably forgotten just how to execute an earthquake. It knows it knows how to perform the attack, but it's as though all its recollections have been trapped behind some kind of invisible barrier, foggy and just out of reach. It doesn't help that its commands for this action are rather confusing. Has Stamford done something that means that earthquake won't hit? Well, no, it would, if Relic could just figure out how to use it...

While the baltoy struggles with its attack dilemma, Stamford is busily excreting heavy metals, silvery liquid welling up from the cracks peppering its body. It sends the toxic fluid spattering all over the arena with a quick spin of its body, and Relic lets out a faint noise of surprise as several splotches of the deadly poison splash onto its body and promptly begin to eat their way through its clay.

Commands: Earthquake ~ Earthquake ~ Nothing
- Still feeling pretty good. Imprisoned (earthquake, stealth rock, light screen) for four more actions. Badly poisoned (3% next round).

Terrain Notes
The air in the arena feels oppressively heavy, and both pokémon have been brought to the ground by the sudden intensification of gravity (1 more action).

Final Notes
- Relic's first earthquake was a critical hit.
- Togetic attacks first next round.

Huh. That didn't go awfully well. Nothing we can do about that. Lets get some more stall going on. Hypnosis to start the round off, and keep using it until it hits. However, if the opponent goes under a Safeguard, Substitute or otherwise couldn't be hit by Hypnosis, switch to Payback, always waiting for the Baltoy to move first.

If the Baltoy falls asleep, simply spam Paybacks, unless you somehow start moving first. In which case use Shadow Ball.

Hypnosis/Payback ~ Hypnosis/Payback/Shadow Ball ~ Hypnosis/Payback/Shadow Ball

Sleep is bad, isn't it, Relic? So throw up a Substitute to block it. 15% sounds about right. Then, I want you to Dig down, then come up under Stamford.

- Still feeling pretty good. Imprisoned (earthquake, stealth rock, light screen) for four more actions. Badly poisoned (3% next round).

Relic has no intention of being caught napping and hastily pulls together a substitute. Meager bits of dust and debris that litter the largely sterile interior of the Mega-Ultra Box respond to the baltoy's call, pulling themselves together into a sort of cloud that approximates Relic's shape. Most of the substitute's substance in fact comes from Relic's lifeforce, which binds the construct together with a web of silver lines.

However shabby the makeshift baltoy looks, Stamford knows that it will be impervious to its best hypnotic tricks. The surface of the bronzor's mirrored body darkens as it wraps itself in a cloak of dark energy, then swoops forward, tilting on edge to smack into Relic with the thinnest part of its body. Of course, it doesn't manage to actually hit the baltoy: Relic's substitute spins in to take the blow for its master instead.

As if on cue, gravity weakens in an instant, causing both Relic and Stamford to pop into the air as though released from some heavy burden. Thus it is that Relic must, after taking a moment to get used to the giddy lightness that normal gravity seems to impart on its body, must consciously descend to the metal surface of the Mega-Ultra box in order to start digging. The baltoy balances precisely on the lower point of its body and begins to spin madly, intending to drill its way through the metal.

Unfortunately, Chuck Norrisium is utterly impervious to even Relic's most frantic efforts at digging, and the baltoy can't even scratch its overwhelmingly badass surface. Tired and annoyed, the baltoy stops its spinning even as Stamford zooms in for another payback, blocked as before by the dutiful substitute.

Of course, at that point, Relic can't exactly dig up to meet his opponent, and so it can do little but let itself float again and think up all the ways it could get revenge on Stamford as the bronzor bashes into its substitute with another weak payback attack.

Gravity has returned to its usual intensity, leaving the arena much as it was at the battle's outset.

Final Notes
- As mentioned in the arena description, dig doesn't work here.
- Eonrider attacks first next round.

Quick nitpick, could you explain how three SE paybacks only did 9% damage. iirc, Payback's power doubles if the opponent moves first. I really don't think 9% looks right.

I was under the impression that payback's power only doubled if the user had taken damage, but apparently that's incorrect. I fixed the percentages; I'll edit the text later, when I have more time.

Well, was going to give a very belated DQ warning here, but as Togetic has left the league, it means the DQ actually goes to him and not Eonrider. Therefore, Eonrider wins by default and gets $8, I get $5, and Togetic gets $3, should he ever return to claim it. Relic and Stamford get 1 EXP apiece.
