[OOC/Sign-Ups] More Than Human [CLOSED]

Myths, legends, fiction and fact are full of tales of a hero, or a group of heroes, overcoming a great evil to free their homes, their people, or their world. These brave heroes come in all shapes and sizes; some fight for the sole reason that they wish to defend something, some were chosen by the gods or fate, some want some kind of reward...but they fight on the side of good. They cut down swaths of evil minions and monsters, hunting for the one (or ones) that are the cause of their suffering. They usually succeed.


But you never hear about the other side. The dark empire taking over the planet, the demon trying to kill the hero's family, or perhaps the rival gang. These groups or individuals are rarely characterized, or sympathized with. How do the soldiers in the villain's army feel about this repression or destruction? Do they support their master entirely, or were they forced? They have lives, a family perhaps, and individual personalities. We rarely get to see this side of things...



You are part of this army, the vast collective of Pokemon working to suppress and destroy the human race. The motives of your master, the charismatic and secretive Ninetales named Abijah, are relatively unknown to you unless you happen to win her favour and rise through the ranks. All you know is that the human race is a blight upon this earth, and they must be destroyed or enslaved.

It has been nearly five years since Abijah and her followers took control of the world, after several slow years of building a vast army and meticulous planning. They set up base in Goldenrod City, taking over the Radio Tower for their headquarters. Humans have been forced to give themselves up as slaves or die, and Pokemon reign supreme. There are tales of humans hiding out in the wilds around the city, planning to fight back, but the attacks so far have been few and far between, and the humans are barely armed and pose little to no threat. Abijah wishes to crush these movements before they can gain footing, but if there's on thing humans are good at, it's hiding...

Name: Abijah Lyssa
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Species: Ninetales

Personality: Abijah is a cold and calculating creature, mostly seeming serene in any situation. Though, if angered, she will fly into an explosive rage that few can calm her from. She is charismatic and manipulative, and a tad sadistic, and she speaks with an eerie quality to her voice that can unnerve most. She looks down on humankind, as if they were dirt of pond scum, and is immensely prideful, as well as incredibly intelligent. Her temper and pride are her downfall, and she has a tendency to fly off the handle at messengers who bring her bad news. She enjoys torturing captive humans, keeping them alive as long as she can while she plays with them.

She can sometimes, however, have a brief period of almost eerie sweetness, however, though these times are rare. She usually only gets this way when her army has secured a particularly exciting, important, or bloody victory.

Appearance: [Picture coming soon] Abijah is a Ninetales, and pretty much resembles one in all aspects. She has a fluffy coat of soft yellow-cream fur, nine flowing tails, a thick mane of fur, and slender limbs. Her ears are a bit longer than normal, however, and her belly is rather large; she's in the final stages of a pregnancy. She wears a lot of jewelery, among them three blue stud earrings per ear, two gold necklaces, and a red scarf tied around her neck.

Name: Max Eadwig
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Persian

Personality: Max does his very best to be evil and cruel to everyone he comes across, except, of course, his superiors. To them, he's a bit of a kiss-ass, spitting out complement after complement in an attempt to gain favour. This has, so far at least, worked, as he is quite good at fueling Abijah's vanity and as such was promoted quickly. Despite his high rank, he's clumsy and a terrible battler, and his strategies leave much to be desired.

Appearance: Max is a bit odd looking, for a Persian. He has the same body shape and overall appearance, though his tail is a bit short (the end was hacked off in a battle, leaving him with only about six inches left). He has large brown patches over a great amount of his back and head, and what remains of his tail is a dark brown as well. His face has large splotches of the dark brown colouration as well, mostly over his eyes and his lower jaw, and his ears are the usual black. Hie eyes are a pale blue, and his teeth are rather yellowed, but still in very good working order.

Species: Lopunny

Personality:
Despite what his charming exterior might say, David is a cold, and rather cruel person, but also calm and well-mannered. Being a man(mon?) of authority as well, David does a lot to uphold his and the Empire's image. The only true moment where he warms up is around his mate, Abijah.

In contrast to what many think, David does not look down on humans per se, but he is incredibly bound to the opinion of his people, and if it makes the people happy that humans die, then he will do all that is in his power to make sure that the humans become extinct, because the people wants it.

That said, David isn't unreasonable, in fact chances very high he's more reasonable than his mate Abijah. However, to David, the opinions of the people are held in a much, much higher regard than his own, so it hardly ever matters what he thinks about a subject.

Appearance:
David looks a lot like the average Lopunny, a very feminine-looking brown and cream coloured anthropomorpic rabbit with large floppy ears and thin arms. However David's eyes are icy-blue, almost white, rather then the usual red. The usual warm smile of his kinda has been exchanged with a cold, stoic expression as well.
He wears a long, purple scarf and have a thick iron chain wired around his left arm, which he uses in combat to place larger power in his attacks.
(Plus it looks kinda cool)

Name: Tanya Weriman
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Species: Vaporeon

Personality: Very cheery and bubbly around friends, but very serious around strangers or when need to be. She joined the Empire because a special someone was in it. She treats Fanagg, her "special someone" differently; she tries to keep calm around him, but ends up embarassing herself.

Appearance: She has a nick in her left (our right) fin. Her fur is shiny (not as in altered color but like a sleek wet shiny), and lighter that normal. Her eyes are piercing amber instead of whatever color they are. Her neck-ring thing is barely shiny, like silver, and the yellow on her fins barely shines, too. In general, she is shinier/sparklier than the normal Vaporeon.

Her gait is tall and proud; she often stands on tiptoes around Fanagg and pays extra attention to her posture, but ends up toppling over (again, embarassing herself) Her posture isn't the best, but it's okay. She is also slightly skinnier than normal, but also slightly shorter (hence the whole tiptoe thing)

Tanya was raised by her trainer, Misuteri, who was close friends with someone named Linda Shimfissle, who also had an Eevee, Fanagg, around her age. She overheard them talking one day. She can only remember part of the conversation;

"Maybe, its a far-off idea, but, maybe, Tanya and Fanagg are both Eevees..."
"Yes, yes they are. If you're planning on Tanya to evolve into Espeon, and I plan on Fanagg to be a Jolteon..."
"It's settles then. Tanya and Fanaag shall have kits when they're old enough!"

Tanya had almost screamed at that moment; she, at age 3, had a childish crush on Fanagg. Then she realized; the kits would probably be sold. And Tanya didn't want to be an Espeon; she had always dreamt of being a Vaporeon.

She then snuck into Misuteri's bag in the middle of the night, and found a Water Stone. the glowing of her evolution woke Misuteri, who also had Linda staying the night. Misuteri then started to scream in rage, and immediately released Tanya. "Go!" her former trainer had screamed, bringing Fanagg running out. His eyes were wide as, tail drooping, Tanya walked out, leaving behind her old life.

Not long after Fanagg left his trainer, and found Tanya in a nest she had made herself in a tree trunk. He told her he was going to join the empire, and after thinking for a few days, Tanya dcided to follow.

Name: Zenshe (tsen-shee)

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Species: Wormadam (Trash Cloak)

Personality: Zenshe is pretty neutral towards the concept of violence. Although she does enjoy sparring, self-protection and the like, she will not randomly pounce on some passerby that happens to be within striking range. She feels somewhat frightened of Abijah -- not only because she is super-weak against a Fire-type but because the Ninetales also seems to want no one to get in her way. Zenshe is protective but is slightly afraid of being right there on the front line controlling everything, mainly because she has somewhat low self-confidence and does not think herself a good leader compared to other Pokémon. She feels slight pity for the humans but also has a distaste for them and how they carelessly treat the world.

Appearance: Zenshe evolved with the Trash Cloak, so she basically looks like a big bright pink puffball. Of course, she does have a head, which is a half-spherical lump at the top-center of her heart-shaped body. She also has a long snout resembling a smooth tree branch and a curly antenna at the top of her head.

Name: Fanagg Shimfissle
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Species: Glaceon

Personality: He's very paranoid and prone to fainting when panicked, though he tries to keep himself calm and often goes to his 'happy place' when he feels he's about to pass out. He's an all-over fearful guy, though he tries to act tough by defying orders or talking back to his superiors. He also dislikes Abijah greatly, mostly because he's scared of her intelligence and fears that one day she'll use it against him or Tanya to put him back into place.

He's also found a soft spot for Tanya, which has formed into a strong feeling that he doesn't understand very well.

Appearance: A normal Glaceon, really. Except for a necklace that hangs around his neck by a previous owner. The etching on the necklace is a lightning bolt, since the owner, Linda Shimfissle, wanted him to evolve into a Jolteon at first.

Other: He has strong feelings for Tanya, who he knew before joing the Empire. They were raised as Eevee kits together and became close friends, and their owners agreed that they could easily breed them for pure-bred Eevee kits when they became older. Upon hearing about this, Fanagg thought that his and Tanya's kits would be sold(if they ever had them) or given away, which started his hatred for his owner.

When Fanagg evolved from Eevee to Glaceon, Miss Shimfissle was enraged since ever since she was a little girl she wanted a Jolteon. Seeing that Linda was angry, and dissappointed, in him, the newly-evolved Glaceon decided that that was it and turned his back on the owner. He joined the Empire, and Tanya was soon to follow.

Gender: Female
Species: Gabite

Personality: Kamai is a very serious person. She rarely tells jokes, and hardly smiles. She isn't really grumpy, or depressed, it's just that she finds most things are not funny. She is very considerate and thoughtful, deep down. She is very proud, especially of her skill at digging. She loves underground caves and caverns, especially warm, humid ones. She will avoid a fight if she can, but if not, she will fight without mercy. She would rather not have joined the Empire, but has decided that it's better for personal safety then going alone.

Appearance: Kamai looks for the most part like any ordinary female Gabite. She is a blue, bipedal creature with a red chest and a white belly. She has sharp teeth and yellow eyes, along with a claw on each hand and two for each thigh. She has a fin on the end of her tail, two rocket-shaped appendages on each side of her head, and a dorsal fin on her back. She does seem to have a slit in her dorsal fin, but at close glance, one would notice it is shorter than a male's, and more jagged, a small nick she got from a sharp rock years ago.

Species: Ariados

Bio: When you have insomnia, you're never really asleep... and you're never really awake. Nothing's real. Everything's far away, everything's a copy. This describes the majority of Jacobin's life.

Jacobin might have been a very lovely, sweet, normal pokemon; he probably was as a young spinarak. But that was all lost long ago, if it ever was that way. He couldn't remember.

His thoughts are liquid; they are slow and sluggish, then suddenly moving at rapid speeds, so fast, he has too much energy he has to move move move and then slow again... so slow. But he doesn't sleep. Never sleeps.

Thoughts that would occur to most pokemon never occur to him. His pattern of thinking is completely obscure. He has no definition of morals, no black or white or gray at all, and the entire concept is alien to him. He doesn't think in a linear fashion; his thoughts are random, non-sequitors, popping into place and making themselves comfortable.

He has no 'breaks' in his thoughts. Nothing that stops him from doing anything that comes to his mind. Because his thoughts are so rapid and changing, there is no way for him to try and control them. He doesn't know how. He just acts.

Appearance: As he is perfectly in the middle-ages of his years, his colouring has grown a bit dull, he's losing a few hairs; but otherwise he's in perfect form. Appearance-wise, there is nothing terribly unique about him.

Well, both are Eeveelutions, so maybe at the Daycare center they were raised together so that when they became older they could breed pure-blood Eevee kits. Something like that.

Age: 10, though age is largely irrelevant in his case.
Gender: None, considered male.
Species: Porygon-Z

Personality: Nicknamed "Twitchy" for his frequent inexplicable spasms, this particularly glitchy Porygon-Z has behaved oddly ever since its last software update, which was only a couple of years before the violent uprising Abijah led. Although he happily obliges whenever ordered to kill (or do anything else for that matter), he insists that he is incapable of harming any human being and that he is, in fact, programmed to place the needs of humanity before his own. This self-contradiction has, so far, not caused any actual problems for the Empire, but Twitchy's ideas of servitude and benevolence towards mankind - not to mention his man-made nature - has made him very, very unpopular. It doesn't seem to bother him much; while he seems capable of actual emotion at times - a manufacturing error, he would have it - he is, overall, as unfazed by everything as you might expect a computer or robot to be.

Fortunately, Twitchy has two redeeming qualities that make him too useful to kill off (though, frankly, they've probably considered doing it anyway): his unwavering loyalty and his battle prowess. Twitchy always obeys orders, a valuable quality in times of war (of course, he may not always interpret them correctly, but that is a separate issue entirely... right?) - and when ordered to fight, he is very capable, somehow wielding every imaginable element against his victims like some terrible force of nature. Watching him in battle as thunderbolts, swaths of psychic energy and beams of ice cut through the air, some people begin to realize that there's something genuinely dangerous - or useful - behind that extremely annoying façade.

Appearance: Twitchy is a lively creature, fluttering around like an oversized red-and-blue hummingbird, turning his head in every direction and suffering spastic fits regularly. When his "I am here to serve humanity"-attitude fails to earn him a Fire Blast in the face, his irritating inability to stop moving about for as much as a single second inevitably does. (Curiously, "stay the fuck still" is the only command he seems unable to obey.)

While battles have scarred paws, singed furs and crippled legs elsewhere in the army, Twitchy remains impeccably shiny and undamaged - how exactly he manages to stay so neat is a bit of a mystery.

It seems I stuffed everything into the personality department.

Name: Alice, or 'Aura'
Age: 17
Gender: female
Species: Lucario
Personality: Peaceful and passive, Alice prefers to be not fight, and instead helps the Empire by locating humans and stopping infiltrations by using her aura powers. Due to her passive nature, she often is racked with guilt after she is forced to fight or locate a group of humans when it seems obvious that their punishment will be death. However, she still supports the Empire in itself, or at least convinces herself that she does, because she believes that humans were wrong and stupid to train pokemon. When she is alone though she wonders if pokemon now are doing the same thing instead of bringing justice and peace as she convinced herself and was told, but she then shuts down that train of thought, either by making an argument supporting the Empire, or telling herself it will do no good to have those types of thoughts now, as she had already joined the Empire and telling someone these thoughts would be treasonous and silly. She likes to be addressed as Alice by her friend s, but goes by Aura as many times she had her name forgotten by comrades she did not know very well, and when she was once called 'Aura seeker' she realized it was obvious that even though she was important not many people knew her or her name, so she went by Aura for the sake of simplicity. She prefers to attack on the special side as she feels its less violent. Alice has few friends, and is often berating herself to open up to other people.
She mainly works in scouting parties to make use of her aura sensing powers, and when in a battle she she mainly avoids trouble, sometimes earning the scorn of her teammates to to her cowardice and unwillingness to fight.
Appearance: Alice is thin, primarily due her often losing her appetite after a fight due to guilt. She has few marks, due to rarely fighting, and when
she does fight, she doesn't use physical attacks. She does have some scars though, the most notable a burn mark near the horn on her chest. Her feet are worn due to her constant pacing when faced with a problem. Her eyes are a reddish brown instead of the normal crimson.

Age: 23
Gender: female
Species: Espeon

Personality: Lizzie is shy, unassuming, quiet, and perhaps best of all, unquestioning of the Empire. This is not because she necessarily agrees with the Empire, but she is terrified of what could happen to her. As a young single mother, she knows that she needs to protect her pups from danger. She doesn't like to make friends and only wishes to protect her family.

However, around Tanya, Lizzie is more relaxed, though still fearful of what would happen if misfortune would befall her too, just like what happened with the others she loved. She is also fearful of Fanagg's personality, though she wishes nothing but the best for her friend.

Appearance: Lizzie is cat-like, with fox-like ears, fur tuffs underneath them, a red gem in her forehead, a forked tail and purple all over like any other Espeon. Where she differs is in a X-shaped scar on her snout, a memoir from a battle she doesn't like to talk about. One of the prongs in her tail is also shorter than they tend to be.

Other: When Lizzie was young and foolish, she had fallen in love with a Lucario. They had shared a trainer and were very close. This was before the takeover, of course. The trainer was attacked and had naturally tried to defend herself with Lizzie and the Lucario, but as soon as Lizzie had been hit deeply in the face, she fainted. By the time she had naturally revived, the trainer was dead and the Lucario almost dead. She could've done something then, but her fear and sense of failure pushed her to run away, into the city. She had her pups while hiding within Goldenrod. To this day, she refuses to acknowledge what happened that day, buying into the Empires talk completely.

Fun Fact: Imitator came on iTunes while I was writing this. It was oddly ironic, in a way.

Ketsu, do you mind if Tanya help you with your pups, like maybe is over protective of them too, and helps Lizzie out when needed? I think it would be cute =P

Also @NightDaemon: Is my bio acceptable, does it seem right? I made Misuteri and Linda friends, and kinda explained things a little more. Does it sound okay and parallel to Fanagg's backstory?

Name: Grizmot (the 't' is silent)
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Species: Raichu

Personality: Grizmot is gruff and quick to act, taking orders silently; he may think that they're pointless or stupid, but he'll hardly ever speak out against an order. The Raichu is also a pessimist, assuming the worst of people (humans, especially), including himself.

When he does speak, Griz is sour and cutting to his peers, although he generally avoids sarcasm. To his leaders, he presents a respectful (although emotionless) face and equally short, clipped replies with a 'sir' or a 'ma'am'; they aren't generally monosyllabic, though.

Appearance: Grizmot, on first sight, brings to mind the word 'feral', as well as the words 'compact' and 'not-well-cleaned'. Only the first two are actually apt descriptors; Griz actually keeps himself rather cleanly, if not smooth of fur. His teeth poke slightly over his bottom lip, and a ragged cut is torn into his sharp tail. Griz's fur is a darker shade than most as well.

Grizmot is a rather large Raichu specimen, closer to three feet than two and a half. The Raichu generally prefers to run on all fours. His body, although thinner than that of a baseline Raichu, is muscular and lean. When he's angry, the Raichu allows his electrical aura

Other: Grizmot had an incompetent, rude trainer who was borderline abusive with his Pokémon. The cretin took out his losses on his team, although the blame was his (pichu vs geodude? seriously? this wasn't a cartoon) Thus, Grizmot has no sympathy for humans and thinks that any good ones are too rare to care about.
