[SIGNUPS/OOC] The Amityville High School of the Strange and the Supernatural

Welcome to the Amityville High School! The school is positioned on a hill at the edge of Amityville, giving it a nice view of the calm town. The school only invites students, and pays for all the costs at the exchange that the students live there during their three-year studying period. The school building is a beautiful, old place, over two hundred years old.

That is about all the information given to the public about the school, and that is for a reason. behind the patterned stone walls, decorated by angels and demons alike, hides a much darker reality than is to be believed. The seemingly innocent high school only invites students with supernatural abilities, and is not only a school, but also a training ground for the students to hone their powers.

However, things are even darker than they seem at first.

Okay, so my latest attempt to start a RP didn't gather much attention, much to my own dismay, so I decided to use another idea, which I got from another RP started long ago by an old friend. It is similar to Cherry's Questing but this RP is a fair bit darker.

So, some useful RP rule-thingies to look over before posting.

Name: Neku Felixtro

Age: 16

Gender: ♂

Appearance: Neku is average height for a 16 year old, with an orange t-shirt and blue jacket. He has a red headband holding back spiky black hair. He wears basic blue jeans and sky blue running shoes on the lower half of his body. The blue jeans are held up with a black belt and red star shaped buckle. An amusing thing about Neku is the black cat ears coming out of the top of his head and the black tail coming from his behind. His right ear has a golden loop through it. His eyes are sky blue. He also has a paw tattoo on the back of his hand.

Personality: Neku is very cat like in the fact he does many cat like things, like clmb tall trees, being rubbed on the stomach and purring a strange times. Other than that, he is a great guy to be around and a good friend. He is willing to stick up for his friends and make plenty of them, so much in fact he's afraid of being alone. Just make sure that, when he makes his nails really sharp, to run because he will go into a frenzy and destroy anything in his path.

Abilites:He has the balance and agility of a cat, as well as the abilty to transform into a black tiger with orange stripes. He can also make his nails razor sharp in his human form and go into a frenzy. In frenzy, he's crazy fast and strong and wont' give in until he's out of energy or you knock him out.

Other:Any sort of water will cancel any of his abilities. (except his natural balance and agility)

Oh dear God let's go ahead and screw up

Name: Armin Faith

Age: 16

Gender: ♂

Appearance: Fairly tall for his age, but also quite thin. Grey eyes and dark brown hair. Always smartly dressed - slightly too smartly, seeing as he usually wears a light blue or shirt with a black tie, and tight black trousers. Occasionally wears a trilby.

Personality: Proud of himself and his powers, but doesn't really give anyone else a chance. He hates listening to people go on about themselves and has to work his own personal experience in to every conversation.

Abilites: Armin can control time to a certain extent. He can't go backwards in time and stop people from being born and all that jazz; he can slow it down. However, this comes with a slight side effect - he ages at the normal rate, even when time is not at its normal speed. As a result, he ends up older than he actually is, if that makes any sense at all.

Other: His tie is the source of his powers. If it is removed, he can't slow time down (and if time is already going slowly, he can't put it back to its normal rate).

Well that didn't go too badly.

Name: Skylar Hunt

Age: 17

Gender: ♂

Appearance: Skylar's decently tall, but not overly so. His most shocking feature would be his hair, which is a dynamic dark red color and droops past his ears. Skylar's eyes are a bright blue. Most of the time, he wears a maroon and gray striped hoodie, and is almost always wearing the hood. He normally wears dark-colored slacks and black sneakers.

Personality: Skylar's mostly modest about anything he does right. His self esteem is decent, as he's able to accept compliments without cause. He also usually doesn't talk unless talked to, but is very sociable in normal conversations. When he's angry, it's quite obvious, as he'll snap at everyone and anyone who tries to speak to him, or even gets close enough to him. His temper will eventually disappear if left alone long enough.

Abilites: Skylar has the ability to manipulate electricity stored in his own body to a certain level, such as creating electric force fields or firing bolts at enemies. The more electricity he uses, the more powerful and varied his attacks are.

Other: The electricity that is built up inside his body has a limit and will eventually run out. If this happens, he can take electricity from any surrounding energy sources and use it as his own.

Name: Alex Umbraise

Age: 16 and a half

Gender: ♂

Appearance: Alex is awfully small for a 16 year old; he's about the size of a seventh grader. His skin is deathly pale and he is deathly thin, due to him refusing to neither tan nor eat. His fingers are spindly and thin, giving the illusion that he just came out of someone's nightmare. His hair is average-length and pitch-black. Alex's irises are blood-red and large, while his pupils are average size. Alex is often found in a dark blue oversized jacket, grey sweatpants, and no shoes, preferring to go barefoot. He often has a green two-subject notebook and a pencil in his hands.

Personality: Alex chooses to be a listener, rarely speaking and mostly using hand gestures and paper and pencil to speak; even though he has a voice, it sounds like a little girl's, so he barely uses it. He is very curious and enjoys sneaking around for no good reason. When given an order, he will perform it word for word as it was given to him.

Abilities: Alex is able to manipulate shadows to his will. He can create illusions, disguise himself, and use them to create energy for his body instead of eating food.

Other: This should be fun~

Name: Nicholas Sloan (Or Nick.)

Age: 16 (And a third! :D)

Gender: ♂

Appearance: Though there is nothing special about him, it should be noted that he has scruffy dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes. He stands at a little over average height, with broad shoulders, and usually wears some kind of polo shirt over a t-shirt, and jeans. He has rectangular wire glasses with the corners rounded.

Personality: Nick isn't one to talk much, but if you can get him going, he'll hardly stop. He can be sarcastic at times, and makes more than a few remarks he doesn't really mean. In truth, he's actually very kind, but he rarely helps people, simply because he can hardly approach someone. However, whenever you call him shy, he tends to get defensive.

Abilites: Nick has the power to create what he calls 'Shades.' He can only make about Four of them at a time. They are humanoid creatures that appear to be partially transpartent shadows with glowing eyes. They seem to have dark-feathered wings, though they never use them. These Shades serve as combatants in Nick's place, and, being connected to his mind, do his bidding as he would if he had the fighting prowess. The more of these creatures there are, the less damage they can take. If there is only one, it's like fighting a very strong opponent, but because there is only one, you can track them easily. Four weaker ones are harder to watch, and depend more on strategy than the lone Shade. When they are destroyed, they dissapate, and their normal strength is transferred to any other Shades, or, if only one remains, it returns to Nick.

Also, Nick can manifest the Shade as a part of him, almost as a kind of armor. Say he manifests the Shade's arm onto his, that arm will have all the power of a Shade, but his shoulder joint will recieve great strain. This ability allows him to get more involved in combat, but he puts himself at greater risk for injury as a result. When he does this, even some human features are changed. Such as his eyes, in which case the iris becomes yellow, with a bold, black line.

Name: Reginald "Reggie" H. Bradley
Age: 17
Gender: Male

Appearance: Reggie is not overly muscular, but he's strong. A little over six feet, his usual dress is out of the ordinary. Almost always wearing a vest and tie, his style is very Roarin' Twenties. Something he never leaves without, however, is his fedora and pocket watch. Reggie gets his clothes made custom, so they fit over his wings and tail. His skin has a strange green tint to it, and his eyes are a deep violet. Reggie's red hair is relatively short, and he also sports a goatee. He keeps his books (as Reggie is an avid reader) in a worn-out messenger bag to his side. You wouldn't notice at first (and some people never do), but his teeth are abnormally sharp. He is also usually wearing protective goggles on his forehead, for when he takes flight or is in the metal shop. Often shoeless as he is, Reggie's feet are clawed.

Personality: Reggie is smart, and can work his way through a room or party. Preferring to rely on his wits rather than his abilities, Reggie sometimes stumbles while training. He's nice, but people who don't already know him wouldn't know because his appearance is intimidating. The students who are mechanically inclined like him, however, because Reggie is a semi-human welding torch. Mostly, he's lonely.

Abilities: Being half-dragon, his abilities are as follows: flight, fire breath, unusual strength, thick skin, sharp vision, and Reggie is charismatic to a draconic level. He can juggle pretty well, too.

Name: Anya Butler
Age: 16
Gender: ♀

Appearance: Anya is of small stature, best described as being cute for being how tiny she is. She has brown eyes and slightly curly, honey blonde hair that ends a bit past her shoulders. Anya’s skin is an olive tone and her body is a tad on the curvy side. She likes to wear bright, frilly clothing, which is mainly what her whole wardrobe is made of. Mostly, she wears a salmon pink colored dress that is knee length and puffy around the edges. Over that around her middle, she has a brown belt and she also wears a black jacket. As for shoes, she wears black boots.

Personality: Anya is usually a very sunny girl. She tends to be quite girly and flirtatious sometimes, more flirty in a manipulative sense when she wants something from said person, but also tries to curb those tendencies. On the inside, she is actually smart, despite not showing it all of the time. Fortunately, she also has a more reserved, quiet side, which only is shown for more serious times. The rest will be played out.

Abilites: In some ways, Anya has the power of a phoenix, but is still only learning how to use her abilities. Due to this, she can create fire to an extent. However, instead of how a phoenix dies and comes back to life, she can rapidly regenerate wounds inflicted on herself. This means, morbidly enough, that it's not uncommon for her to lose an appendage and have it grow back. It is possible for her to die. The downside to this ability is her head is her weak point. If, for instance, she were decapitated, she wouldn't regenerate, she would just die.

Other: This RP needs more estrogen. c:

Name: Eris Thanos

Age: 16

Gender: ♀

Appearance: Tall and frail, Eris looks fey at the best of times - in the right lighting, she looks absolutely ethereal, and not in a good way. Her features are sharp, with dark eyes that have a tendency to flash a silvery-grey if she's feeling particularily emotional, or using her abilities. Her hair is a dull black, and kept long, reaching her waist. Swirling black tattoos cover her arms and legs, with a twisted torque-like one around her neck, a strand reaching up to her jaw.

Personality: Eris is a darkly mocking person, and it's easy to get stung by her words - she heaps sarcasm on anyone around her without discrimination, and doesn't seem to know - or care - when to stop. She likes to rile other people up and see the consequences, and is always dancing back and forth, pushing and prodding just a little more to see what happens. She is easily bored, and hates when nothing is going on - she demands that something happen, and if she has to be the instigator, so be it. She follows people she finds interesting, and isn't shy about focusing her attention on someone. It is never romantic, but almost an urge, and it's those unfortunate targets that she shows the least restraint with, needling them and testing them with a malicious sort of glee. She doesn't usually care about scaring people, but she doesn't genuinely mean harm either.

Abilities: Eris is a walking nightmare - her presence inspires unease to downright terror when she doesn't bother to rein it in, and when she wants to draw attention to herself, she can make anyone in a radius of five metres witness horrible visions - hallucinations of themselves dying, feeding off of their fear and growing stronger and more tangible. If kept up for too long, the hallucination will become self-sustaining, and has the potential of warping into reality, though Eris has never pulled it off for long enough. She can also petrify others with fear. She doesn't eat as much as most, drawing energy off of other people's dreams.

Other: She has no control over darkness, but rather an affinity to it, and her powers have rather flashy visual effects when she uses them. Her eyes glow silver, and her tattoos become shadows that twine around her. the more she uses her powers, the further the tattoos spread.

Name: Annalise Concannon
Age: 17
Gender: ♀

Appearance: The most noticeable thing about Annalise is her medium-length hair that is completely dyed teal. She is of average height, around 5'5" I'd say. Annalise posses a fairly average figure, not athletic-like but not a heavy one either. Just normal. She has big, dark eyes and a few sparse freckles on her face. She wears vintage-looking, black, "hispertish" glasses. And yes, without the lenses. Annalise is usually seen with very "trendy" clothes. (a.k.a "Hipstery" :P) A lot of long sleeved or buttoned up tops. Short skirts with long socks/stockings or dark, tight pants. She's always seen wearing pink/black plaid shoes and a mustache necklace always drapes her neck.

Personality: Annalise is a very analytical person who likes to herself. This is a result from a combination of being sort of shy and her be living she's smarter than a lot of people. She is often seen with her headphones blanketing her ears; often being played loudly. You'll probably hear a lot She & Him and Bright Eyes by standing around her. Miss Concannon is interested in various creative things such as art and music. She enjoys sewing and playing tunes on her 1950's martin ukulele (that I would kill to have :P) she picked up at a garage sell. She likes to keep to herself, passing the times by sketching on her arms with one of the various colored pens she keeps in her pockets. Despite being fairly intelligent she has a bad habit of not sleeping causing her to fall asleep during class.

Abilities: Annalise's powers aren't very... threatening to say the least. She may not be able to mend the shadows or bend fire with her very will. BUT. She possess a photographic memory. Down to he very last detail. She can remember the weather. The certain color of people's clothing. How many dishes were in resting in the sink waiting to be washed. You get the idea. As well as knowing her own memories like the back of her hand she can identify and even change the memories of other people. Although she is not very good at this and feels that its morally wrong to do so. Annalise also posses the power of mind control. Though this is a new, budding ability it is fairly powerful. She can make others (including nearby animals) to do things for her. Attack, defend, cause amnesia and things of the like. One final thing she knows about for now is that she can temporarily make others black out. This won't last for long; its basically the equivalent of getting smacked in the back of the head without the possible vision damage.

Name: Zephyr (Zeph) Terrance

Age: 16

Gender: ♂

Appearance: He's very casual, wearing just a plain black long-sleeve shirt and ripped jeans. His skin tone is very Mediterranean and his eyes are a shocking light blue, almost white. Not that you'd ever see his eyes, considering they're ALWAYS behind very dark sunglasses. His hair is generally messy, since he never combs it, and is black with dark blue streaks through it.

personality: He's soft-spoken, and distrusts most everyone. His family was murdered when he was young, so he has good reason to distrust. His uncle called him a freak and sent him off to this school, which leaves him slightly bitter inside, although he tries to hide it behind a smile. He may seem cold sometimes, but he's just trying not to get close to anyone again. He feels alone and is partially depressed, but he tries to hide it.

Abilites: He messes with the fabric of space, basically. The extent of his powers, along with his mastery over his powers, are unknown. (Although this has possibility of being a broken power, I won't let it become one :3)

Other: He's blind. His other senses have sharpened due to his loss of sight, and along with his abilities, it almost seems as if he isn't blind at all. But don't be fooled, he can't see squat XD (maybe he'll be able to 'see' by using his powers to see the fabric of space, I haven't decided yet :p)

Okay, listen here. There is nothing wrong with your forms themselves, those are fine. What concerns me is your choice of powers. The RP will be combat-heavy and your choice of abilities put you at the risk of being seriously underpowered.
You can keep your abilities if you insist, but I urge you to change to something more useful in combat against other supernatural powers.

When that has been resolved you are accepted.

If I may ask - would intensifying any sort of reactions to Eris' presence help at all? Inflicting waking dreams on people around her, or petrifying them with terror - would those work?

I tried messing around with it the best I could.

If you have anymore troubles I could just change the overall theme of her powers. :D It wouldn't be any trouble.
