2fort is made up of two mirror image forts opposite each other, separated by a water-filled moat, with a covered bridge spanning it. The battle takes place on the bridge and surrounding moat, with waterbound combatants swimming in the water, though land-based battlers can still leap in the water if needed.

The wooden bridge is flammable, but strangely will not burn down or break entirely, constantly seeming to repair itself after a few minutes. There are also two sewer entrances under the bridge, which lead to small rooms with stairs leading to the main bases, though these stairs (as well as the doors into the buildings themselves) are blocked off to the battlers for fear of them torching the intel or something jerkish like that.

At the start of the battle, each trainer will be assigned a team, RED or BLU, and keep the team during the whole battle. A gentle breeze blows through the dry desert around 2fort, kicking up dust and dirt and tossing it into the moat and against the sides of the buildings. The area is still and quiet...quite and odd sight for a battleground as oft-used as this one. The shine of the barrel of a sniper rifle is visible in the upper windows of each fort, however.

But then the beating of the blades of a helicopter break the silence, and the airborne vehicle soon slides into sight, hovering over the top of the covered bridge and throwing down a ladder. The combatants and ref climb down and take their places on their respective sides of the battleground, RED on the left, BLU on the right, and the ref in the middle.

The RED team, commanded by a slender, red-headed female in a long white coat, shiny black boots, dark brown pants, and a large machine strapped to her back, is first to move. She pulls a Pokeball from her belt and tosses it gently, the Chinchou released from within settling into the moat under the bridge.

BLU moves next, this team led by willowy female of unidentified hair colour dressed in a blue pinstriped suit, balaclava, and gloves. She takes a small metal case from inside her coat and pulls out her Pokeball, releasing a Spinarak onto the inside of the bridge.

Orders are issued, and the ref waves his flag, which is...attached to a baseball bat (odd), signalling the start of battle!

---ROUND ONE BEGIN---

Shiia is the first to react to her orders, paddling around happily in the (relatively) fresh water of the moat. She makes an impressive leap out of the cool water to get a good look at her foe. She notes with interest that the spider Pokemon is surrounded by a large swarm of teensy insects, before splashing back into the water. She leaps again, this time charging a weak bolt of electricity between her antennae, launching it toward the Spinarak, who remained motionless, contemplating her own orders carefully; everything but be done right after all.

The spider jolts when the bolt strikes her, however, sending her swarm of insect followers into a frenzy, though they didn't leave their master's side. Niflheim tries to make a move to complete the commands she was given, but her body seizes up on her, and she flops onto her belly, making a low whining sound. Merde.

Down in the moat, Shiia chuckles to herself, charging even more electricity up in her antennae. Another leap out of the cool water so she can get a good look at her target's location - moping on the wooden planks of the bridge, it seems - and she lets loose a sizable wave of electricity that washes over most of the battleground. Niflheim lets out a pained screeching sound as the energy washes over her, legs curling under her body involuntarily; she can't move. Her swarm reacts with a frantic buzzing, and their movement works itself up to a fever pitch.

Shiia is vastly amused by this turn of events; her fishy laughing getting louder and more happy. She leaps out of the water yet again, her antennae giving off a brilliant glow before letting loose a massive bolt of blindingly white lightning, which crashes into Niflheim dead-on, ripping another high scream from her as her legs twitch.

Seething with anger, Niflheim manages to pull herself to her many feet, swarm buzzing furiously around her. She glares around the covered bridge before skittering to the side and up the small wall to peer into the water. There--! She scowls down at the annoying little fish, who makes what can only be described as an 'eep' sound when she realizes that her target is moving.

Niflheim's eyes gleam a briliant red, sending Shiia into a panic; she has no idea what the spider is planning but it is probably very not good. She darts under the bridge as fast as she can, hoping to avoid whatever is coming her way. Niflheim isn't pleased when she realizes that the target of her anger managed to slip away, ooooh no... She lets out a low hiss, glaring down at the water, legs twitching every so often. Shiia, meanwhile, giggles at her luck. She hasn't been hurt at all!

---ROUND TWO BEGIN---

The second round starts off rather quietly, at least at first. Niflheim sits carefully on the side of the bridge, glaring down into the water at her unseen foe. Shiia, however, wishes to shake things up a bit! She comes darting out from under the bridge, leaving an abnormally large wake as she goes. Niflheim is puzzled by this turn of events, but starts to carefully make her way down the side of the bridge.

This turns out to have not been the best idea, when the water in the moat suddenly sloshes to one side, and curls into a large and intimidating wave. The Spinarak stares wide-eyed at the wall of water as it comes crashing down on the bridge, the impact shoving her roughly against the wall. She manages to cling on, thankfully not tumbling into the water, and glare at the now-laughing fish as she swims lazily around the moat.

The bug type decides that the fish needs to suffer. With a low whining hiss, Niflheim opens her mouth and spits out a volley of triangle-shaped spikes that splash into the water haphazardly. Several just barely miss landing on top of Shiia as she squeals in panic at the sudden attack. Eventually, they settle to the bottom, small clouds of purple goo hovering around the sharp spikes.

Shiia shoots the nearest one a worried look, but does her best to avoid them as she surfaces. Scanning for the bug-type, She eventually spots her trying to catch her bearings, perched just under the bridge. the Chinchou paddles over carefully and looks up at Niflheim, and her eyes shine a rainbow of colour before launching a thin, bright beam at the spider. Niflheim squeals in pain as the psychic energy sears her skin, though it's not as bad as it could be, and she is thankful.

But as the bug type goes to order her swarm, who is buzzing angrily (and wetly) around her, she feels her whole body tense up and she cannot say a word. That damned fish will pay for that!

Shiia laughs again, swimming backwards a little so she can avoid anything that may be coming her way while still watching her foe suffer, and--

Ow!

The fish squeals in pain as a sharp spine jabs into her backside, and she jolts forward. The wound stings, but she shakes it off, completely unaware that some of the toxins clouding around the spike have soaked into her small body...

She decides that she should probably get on hurting the bug some more, and opens her mouth, a chilling feeling starting at her fins and spreading through her whole body. The chill collects in her mouth, before bursting forth as a white beam of pure cold, which collides with Niflheim's left side. The water still clinging to her body for the earlier Surf attack instantly freezes over, keeping the spider held fast to the wooden bride.

Niflheim curses her luck silently; she still cannot move.

Start with a Heal Order, do that once as soon as the RNG gods decide to accept that Mareep I offered earlier. Then spam Defend Order. Because I can tell this is going to be a battle of attrition.

Shiia, still laughing happily about the luck she's having in this battle, bobs up and down in the water under Niflheim, a wide smile on her fishy face. She mulls over her orders silently (except for a few giggles), and then takes a deep breath. She holds it for a moment, before letting out a eardrum-shredding sound, eyes squeezed shut. Niflheim, on the other hand, is so deeply engrossed in her angry thoughts that the sound doesn't phase her at all. This doesn't please Shiia; she pouts as best a fish can and swims in a little circle.

Niflheim tried to talk to her little insect swarm again, but her voice still won't come; damn this paralysis! She glares at the fish under her, shivering at the cold of the ice, which is melting quickly under the desert sun.

Shiia turns her gaze back on the spider, mulling over her next order; Toxic. It puzzled her a bit as to why (weren't Spinirak poison types?) but she began collecting toxins in her mouth anyway. After a few moments, she let the disgusting purple goo loose at Niflheim, who winced in surprise when the stuff spattered over her, but otherwise didn't react. She blinked at the goo all over her, puzzled, and watched it leak harmlessly off her body and into the water below. Shiia cursed.

Yet again, the little spider tried to make an order, but, yet again, she froze up. She swore inside her head, trying to make her body co-operate with her wishes, but to no avail.

Annoyed at her failures, Shiia made another move to attack. She shifted back in the moat, wincing as one of those damned spikes scraped along her side, but she pressed on. After moving back enough to give her a running (er. swimming) start, she charged, leaping out of the moat in a cloak of water before ramming Niflheim painfully. The little spider flinched back in pain, eyes squeezed tight and slightly disoriented from the blow to her face.

Shiia, meanwhile, dropped into the water again, feeling triumphant, if a bit tired.

After receiving her orders, Shiia smirked a bit. This was going to be too easy...the spider was a sitting duck up there, and would only become more incapacitated as time went on. She lept out of the water again, launching a wave of electricity all around her, which crackled loudly as it went. Niflheim squealed and tried to scramble out of the way, managing to avoid the brunt of the attack, but it still stung.

Hissing in her own spidery language, Niflheim glared at Shiia darkly, her insects buzzing around her. That horrible little fish was going to pay...perhaps not now, but soon. She shut her eyes, whispering commands to her swam, which promptly sprung into action healing their wounded mistress. That was much better, but she was a bit tired from her body healing so fast...no matter, though. She was ready for anything!

Shiia, unaware of this new development, sprung out of the water again, this time firing twin orbs of light towards Niflheim, and falling back into the water with a splash. Niflheim squeaked again in surprise and managed to react fast enough to toss up a glimmering energy shield before the orbs came too close. The Confuse ray disappeared harmlessly as it hit the protect, which fell shortly after.

Cursing, Shiia glared up at the lazy bug on the bridge above her. So smug, sitting there with her...her bugs, and her slowness, and her shucking off the ice-- heeeey. Shiia frowned. Well that was no good.

But she had bigger things to attend to. The Chinchou started swimming in a graceful pattern, swirling and jumping and preforming an elaborate underwater dance. Overhead, clouds were beginning to gather, but they weren't as thick or dark as Shiia would have liked. nevertheless, it started to promptly rain. When she noticed the drops hitting the surface of the water, Shiia laughed and swam backwards, before letting out a squeal as she sliced herself on one of the spikes again.

Niflheim was paying the rain no attention, and instead concentrating on instructing her swarm to defend her, which they did gladly, forming a living shield about their mistress. She smirked and shook off the last remaining bits of the ice, her smirk becoming a spidery laugh when she felt her body loosen up a bit.

---ROUND FIVE BEGIN---

But before Niflheim had much time to gloat the turn of events, Shiia, angry and rather annoyed at the giant bug, lept out of the water with a hiss, her antennae glowing brightly. A split second later, the glowing lights seemingly detatching from the bulbs, followed shortly by a rippling burst of electricity. Niflheim barely had a chance to squeak before the lights make her vision spin, and the electric shock makes her body tense up. In a rage, she manages to overcome her jerky muscles and exceute the combo, but as she began to gather her mental energies, one of the pretty lights swam through her vision, and she let go of her conentration, the build-up Psychic attack tweaking a few of Niflheim's own pain recepters.

Shiia is quite pleased at this, of course, and paddles about in the water for a bit, peeking out and enjoying teh rain, even if it was beginning to slow now. She giggled as Niflheim struggled in vain to make her aching body obey her, but she was locked in place.

But that was enough of that, at least for now. Shiia did another little spin in the water and lept, gathering icy-cold energy from deep inside her body, letting it gather in her mouth. Any raindrops that strayed too close were frozen solid and fell to the moat with a tiny plip sound. Once she was pleased with the coldness, the Chinchou let the energy off in a might white burst, which quickly concentrated into a beam of blue-tinged white.
