Style: Set
DQ: Standard week
Damage cap: 60%
Banned moves: OHKO's; each Pokemon limited to one direct-healing move
Arena: Witches' Province

A magical corner of the world, inhabited primarily by witches and warlocks. The arena itself is in the center of a typical forest, with your standard-issue witch's cottage just on the arena's outskirts. Puffs of multicolored smoke have a habit of escaping the cottage's chimney, and can cause hallucinogenic effects on Pokemon that inhale them (which will be primarily or solely Flyers, since the smoke isn't heavier than air). This causes them to be moderately Confused but have random stat boosts to any combination of Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, and Accuracy which are cumulatively equal to +6.

The arena itself, being so infused by magic, has some odd effects on Pokemon battling within it. At the end of each round, one of the following effects will occur:
18% chance that one Pokemon will receive a +2 boost to one stat (either Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, and Accuracy) (3% each stat)
18% chance that one Pokemon will receive a -2 penalty to one stat (3% each stat)
12% chance that both Pokemon will receive a +1 boost to one stat (2% each stat)
12% chance that both Pokemon will receive a -1 penalty to one stat (2% each stat)
5% chance that one Pokemon will be given the effects of Magic Coat
5% chance that one Pokemon will receive Magic Guard in addition to its normal ability (this lasts for one round)
5% chance that Magic Room will go into effect (this is a Trick Room-like Gen V effect that removes all effects of items)
5% chance that one Pokemon will receive Magic Mirror in addition to its normal ability (all stat-lowering moves are reflected back to the user) (this lasts for one round)
5% chance that both Pokemon will recover 40% Health

Round 5 Begin!

Mirrorong Gohma's attack from the last round, Norway cloaks herself in a bright white light, then launches herself at her opponent; she collides with her with such massive force that she is thrown backwards herself, landing awkwardly but scrambling upright quickly. Gohma, having been thrown over by the attack, picks herself up and begins absorbing sunlight rapidly, her bulb working overtime to produce energy; after a few seconds of this, she has recovered a large portion of her vitality.

Shaking her head, Norway shakes off the disorientation that the Double-Edge left her with, then begins another, cannoning into Gohma once again; by some fluke, she manages to hit her in the mouth, which due to the burn is massively painful. As expected, the two Pokémon are thrown backwards by the attack; when Gohma gets up again, she ponders using Curse, but realizes that she'd probably mangle the incantation and summon some otherworldly demon, and so she instead concentrates her energy into her mouth area, whereupon her skin becomes drastically thicker and tougher.

As Norway repeats the Double-Edge once more, both she and Gohma are thrown backwards once more; as she scrambles to her feet, though, she stares at Gohma, who doesn't seem to be getting up. Although she hopes that it means she has won, she highly doubts it; indeed, close inspection reveals she's just napping.

Several minutes later, after Norway has gnawed on various trees and gouged interesting patterns into them, Gohma stirs, then awakens, feeling refreshed. At that moment, a brilliantly golden sprout grows out of the ground, growing rapidly and becoming a tree, which drops two golden fruit before withering away to nothing. Each of the Pokémon siezes one of the fruit; then, after several nervous bites, they find it to be delicious, devouring it. A sudden warmth spreads through their bodies, and they feel refreshed and ready to fight.

(cough cough, Gohma's healings counter should have gone up by 1 at the end, for Synthesis)

Okay, Gohma, your primary objective is to Growl loudly whenever she tries to Chill. Barring that, use Bullet Seed, unless she has a Substitute up, in which case attack it with Razor Leaf. If she uses something (like Protect) that would block damaging attacks, default to Growl.

Growl/Bullet Seed/Razor Leaf x3

Chill three times. Just do your best to cover your ears and block out the growling. Even if you can hear some of it, it shouldn't cancel out the chilling entirely.

Round 6 Begin!

Norway assumes a comfortable position and lies down, and remembering the orders of her trainer she flattens her ears against her head, beginning her meditative sleep-trance. Gohma's face contorts grotesquely, and from deep in her throat emerges a guttural growl, distorting the air it passes through before reaching Norway; the Rattata stirs uncomfortably in her sleep but fails to wake up, most of the sound removed due to the Rattata's closed ears.

Twice more Gohma attempts the same attack, and twice more the move fails to wake Norway up. As Gohma despairs of her ever waking to continue the battle, a bolt of green lightning flies out of the chimmney of the little cottage, striking Gohma directly. She checks herself for injuries, but none seem to be present - to the contrary, her eyesight seems considerably better. Norway finally stirs, waking up just as the round draws to a close.

Sorry for the delay; still too distracted to strategize. Taunt unless she protects/finds some other feasible way to stop that, in which case chill; then just do your best to keep chilling afterward. If for whatever reason you're completely unable to chill on the second and third actions (as in incapable of carrying out that order, not just because its effectiveness would be reduced by being hit), flame wheel on whatever action is relevant.

hello, taunt failing again, how are you? I am fine. GTFO.

Chill on the first action if you can manage it before she Taunts (unlikely); also Chill if/when Taunt wears off. Body Slam whenever you're taunted.

Round 7 Begin!

As the trainers and referee finally manage to shake off the disgusting glop that earlier emenated from the cottage, Norway begins shouting insults at Gohma, putting dark-typed energy into his words in order to prevent the failure of the move that happened twice before. This turns out to be successful, the words catching Gohma's attention and the energy clouding her mind, and within seconds she can think of naught else but beating Norway to a pulp. She charges forward at top speed - which isn't much, due to her stubby little legs - and leaps into the air, launching herself at the Rattata. She lands with a thump, and then immedeately jumps off and runs back, preparing to circle around.

Norway groans and decides not to bother getting up, closing her eyes and going to sleep, just as she did last round. Gohma, having completed her circle, launches herself at Norway once again. She lands hard, disturbing Norway's sleep severely but not waking her up, and then jumps back immediately for another circle; when she leaps at Norway, it once again fails to wake her up, and she jumps back, and suddenly her mind clears, her irrational rage fading. She stops running, and a loud 'blorp' sound suddenly emenates from the cottage that she had forgotten about, causing Norway to leap awake in shock. A very large bubble suddenly squeezes its way out of the chimmney, and floats down to Gohma, who it envelops. Norway gapes at its reflective sheen; suddenly, it bursts, leaving Gohma coated in a silvery, reflective coat.

Chill once, follow up with Leech Seed, and Chill a second time. If she does something to block Leech Seed, revert to a Chill and roll the Leech Seed over to the next action {in which case the chill-if-she-blocks-it clause still applies}; if she somehow blocks you from Chilling (even though Magic Mirror should reflect Taunts), then Mega Drain her for energy.

Round 8 Begin!

Ignoring the shimmering reflectiveness that now coats her opponent, Norway leaps up and runs at the sparkling Bulbasaur, ramming the plant-toad-thing in the side as hard as she can. Gohma growls in irritation but then settles down, lying her head against the ground and going to sleep.

Norway looks at the sleeping Bulbasaur for a few seconds before deciding to follow suit, lying down in a comfortable indentation in the ground and slowly falling asleep. Just as she does, Gohma wakes up; seeing her target a sitting duck, she concentrates hard, bringing a seed to the opening of her bulb, then launching it at the sleeping figure. It hits its mark, and immediately bursts open into a tiny bundle of vines, which rapidly begins growing, fueled by Norway's own energy. Tiny orbs of glowing light begin streaming from flowers that open as the vine grows, the energy flying over to Gohma, who happily absorbs it.

The pain of the vines beginning to embed themselves into her skin wakes Norway up, and she leaps in shock when she realizes that she has been once again Seeded. Bristling in rage, she leaps up and charges at Gohma, once again headbutting her - this time directly in the face. Gohma growls and staggers backwards, all thoughts of a peaceful rest forgotten. Norway giggles at Gohma's dazed appearance, noticing suddenly that the quality of Gohma's sheen has changed - rather than irridescent, it is now a golden, reflective coating, flickering in the light of the energy streaming from the vines' flowers.

Magic coat is a one-turn/action effect, not a screen. Also, since it is just magic coat as opposed to an actual fifth-gen thing like magic mirror, I'm assuming that the current TCoD/fourth-gen rules/mechanics still apply to it, correct? (Because otherwise I was sort of wondering why you had both magic mirror and magic coat...)

EDIT: Which is not to say that Jack can't have magic coat last as long as a screen if that's what he'd actually intended; that just isn't the move's usual behavior.

No, I meant it to act like the move would, I just didn't know how long that lasted.
