2vs2 single
DQ: 8 days :B
Damage Cap: 60%
Banned Moves: NOTHING (OHKOs, if they hit, make the target hit the damage cap however)
Arena: Cycle of Seasons
But if one were to stay in this area for a long enough time, they will note that it changes rapidly, a full season completing in the same amount of time as one ASB round. The arena starts in the Spring when the battle commences, and the seasons are described below:
Spring: A wide field of short, soft grass, a slow-moving river deciding it in the centre, a small copse of trees that the river cuts through. The field is dotted with small flowers just beginning to bloom. The weather here is Clear and there are no additional effects.
Summer: The arena is green and warm, the sun shining brightly and granting a Sunny Day effect that lasts unless replaced with another weather.
Fall: The leaves on the trees are turning colours and falling, and it's beginning to get cold. The river swells with water and moves faster in this season, and a chill breeze blows. there is a 50% chance that when this arena will come into phase with a Rain Dance in effect. If there is no rain, the weather is Clear, but the chill provides a +1% damage to all ice moves.
Winter: The arena is covered in a good four or five inches of snow. The trees have lost their leaves, and the river is frozen over. The temperature has dropped significantly; all damaging Water-type moves will be classified as Ice in this season. This season comes into phase with a Hail effect in play until replaced by another weather condition. The cold grants a 1% reduction in energy for Ice-type Pokemon to use moves.
Pre-Round Notes
What an odd place. The trainers and referee that were flying high in the sky on League Staraptor notice immediately its oddities, and since they were looking for a good battlefield anyway they head down to investigate. A twenty-minute inspection (read: standing around waiting for something to happen) reveals that the season seems to be changing almost constantly, from spring to summer to autumn to winter to spring again. The wild Pokémon seem to be avoiding this place - beyond a few curious Deerling, who never come in any further than the treeline, just standing there and changing colors as the seasons change - so the trainers pick it as a good battlefield. The trainers take their places at the ends of the battlefield, and Squornshellous Beta distractedly tells them to send out their Pokémon while trying to entice a Deerling - one with particularly sparkly-shiny fur, which actually seems to be somewhat lighter than her mental idea of the species - nearer with some Poffins. Dave Stryder sends out a Psyduck, which immediately clamps its hands to its head and grimaces; Big Red Cherry Bomb sends out a Squirtle. Squornshellous vaguely signals for the round to begin as she gently reaches out to stroke the now-pink Deerling.

Round 1 Begin!
Despite the grimacing, the Psyduck is the first to move, though all that really happens is that his headache intensifies, he squeezes his eyes shut, his psychic energy is released and a translucent, white dome appears around him, shimmering in the dim spring sun. Jacob, meanwhile, begins crafting a Substitute - he spits out a small stream of water, which he imbunes with his own energy; the puddle begins rising up, taking shape and forming into a Squirtle-clone. The watery apparition turns its transparent head towards its creator, then towards his opponent; it then lifts itself up from the sitting position it formed in, and stands directly between them, ready to intercept attacks.
Actually moving this time, Medium opens his eyes, then begins drawing various foul toxins from several locations within his body. Shuddering at the horrible taste that they leave when they mix together in his mouth, he opens his beak wide and spits it at the clone. It hits solidly, and dissolves rapidly into the water, leaving it a pale, translucent purple. Jacob giggles -
actually, he thinks,
it's quite a nice color - and then begins his own move, running out from behind his purple guardian and running towards Medium, where he bites firmly down on the duck's arm with his hard little jaw. The duck screeches in pain and throws Jacob off, but the dark energy stored in his mouth has left an impact, sparking briefly like some sort of dark electricity before seemingly fading away, though Medium and his burning arm can attest that it has not.
Before Medium has the chance to move, Jacob runs towards him, his fist clenched tightly; he swipes at the air mere centimetres from Medium's face, and the Psyduck leaps back in shock; Jacob giggles and then punches the Psyduck in the head with a fist imbuned with dark energy, vastly increasing his headache. Medium tries to retaliate, trying to summon up his psychic powers, but he just can't seem to do it - the energy is always just out of reach. The round ends with Medium quacking in frustration, and with Squornshellous Beta stroking her new friend - which is now slowly turning green. The sun overhead is also brightening, the buds on the trees opening, and the flowers blooming - the air is becoming hotter, summer is approaching.

Damage / Energy Calculations
Light Screen - 3% energy, 1% per action
Substitute - 10% health (Jacob), 5% energy
Toxic - 5% energy (accuracy roll 27, needed 85 or above to miss)
Bite - 7% damage, 5% energy (accuracy roll 38, needed 100 to miss)
Fake Out - 4% damage, 7% energy (accuracy roll 13, needed 100 to miss)
Notes
- Obviously, Fake Out caused Medium to flinch.
- For the record, the Deerling aren't going to interrupt the battle - they're all too scared. The Sawsbuck prefer to avoid this place, the feel of constantly re-growing and shedding their leaves is quite uncomfortable.
