Round One, Act Three
Edward limps a little ways away from Grizzle, heavily favoring his now-quite-bruised right side, but as before can do nothing more than glower at the bear. His target is, once again, Penicillin, as he lets rip with a searing arc of dark energy. Penicillin hadn't even bothered getting back up after the skull bash laid him low, focusing just on keeping his wheezing breath going, and so isn't knocked quite as far by the attack as he was the last time. The dark pulse is still far from comfortable, though, and the frail meowth isn't sure how much more he can take.
Nevertheless, he has to try. Taking the dark pulse as impetus to finally raise himself back to his feet, Penicillin rolls onto his stomach and slowly clambers upright, wobbling unsteadily in the foam. The battle has left him charred black in the front and bleeding from the long, black-edged lacerations left behind by the dark pulses. If his sickly form was an unsettling sight before, it's even more of one now, and Grizzle, who has been sneaking along after Edward, is considerably put out when he realizes the half-dead meowth's eyes are on him.
Penicillin lets out a gurgling battle cry and runs right at Grizzle, who decides he wants none of this and flees at top speed in the other direction, scattering foam blocks every which way. Penicillin's pounce nets him nothing but air, and he spends a few seconds flailing around and gnawing on one of the mosh pit's blocks before he realizes his target is long gone. At that point, what is there to do but lie around contemplating failure once again?
Penicillin isn't the only pokémon suffering through frustration at the moment. Far below, Mole-estation! still finds herself without a target for her earth power attack. From the depths comes the low, persistent grinding of Gorouna's continuing rock polish attack, but Mole-estation knows she has no hope of hitting the geodude from her present location. There's really nothing she can do but sit and fume, conserving energy by not firing an attack doomed to fail.
Rachel, on the other hand, is quite content. It hasn't gotten the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with any opponents yet, but on the other hand no one has been bothering it, either. To increase its chance of passing unnoticed, the staryu sets out to shrink itself, core momentarily glowing a deep red as energy pulses through its limbs. In the next instant the staryu collapses to around half its original size, now quite comfortable in the cracks between bits of foam even as the contents of the mosh pit shift around it to fill the hole left by the staryu's sudden minimization.
Above, the battle rages as fiercely as ever. Acionyx is moving carefully towards Nyasha, wary of the gooey morass of melted foam that surrounds the exeggcute. The light screen doesn't bother the skelitten in the slightest, and he passes right through it as he reaches in to snag the egg he snacked on before. Its shell already badly cracked, the exeggcute egg puts up even less resistance than before as Acionyx bites down hard, shattering even more of the egg's defenses and further overwhelming it with burning dark energy.
Acionyx doesn't have a ton of time to stand around chewing on his egg, though. Ganondorf breathes another flamethrower at Nyasha, and the skelitten is forced to drop the exeggcute and scram if he doesn't want to catch a faceful of fire himself. That Nyasha's light screen greatly reduces the amount of fire that actually reaches the fragile eggs it covers is cold comfort, as is the fact that the houndoom's aim is a bit off and only about half the attack actually strikes the barrier at all; Nyasha is still in desperate straits, nigh-cooked and struggling to keep a reign on all her panicked heads. It doesn't help that Nyasha can't see any way to go about executing her last command this round. Not a Creeper is nowhere to be seen, and even those of Nyasha's eggs that have burrowed a little ways under the foam see no sign of the lileep. Wherever he's gone, Not a Creeper is out of reach, and so Nyasha has nothing to occupy herself with save self-pity and pain.
As it turns out, though, Nyasha is to be spared further roastings this round. Sheila turns her fire on Penicillin as before, and Anmi forgoes flame altogether, instead creeping up behind Fondue and horking a foul green slime all over the squirtle's head and neck. This is far from a pleasant surprise, and Fondue squeals, falling face-first into the foam while Anmi scarpers.
Unpleasant though the toxic attack is, at least Fondue has a way to deal with it. There will be no sitting around moping around wishing she had a target for her own slime this action--it's time to do something productive! Ignoring the sting of the poison seeping through her skin, the squirtle releases a wave of energy from her internal reserves, driving poison that had only just started seeping into her bloodstream right out again. The toxic slime coating her body dissolves, and Fondue, feeling perhaps unreasonably pleased with herself, is quick to vacate the area where she had been standing and which is now dappled with splashes of noxious goo.
It's Tiamat who seems to have inherited Fondue's previous target woes. The vaporeon would certainly get a kick out of soaking a rock-ground type with her most powerful water attack, but unfortunately Gorouna is nowhere in sight. In fact, in the midst of all the foam, visibility is reduced to more or less the half inch in front of her nose. Tiamat swims awkwardly through the blocks and balls, slipping deeper into the pit but without a lot of direction. Gorouna could be
anywhere, after all--and little does the vaporeon know that the geodude isn't even
in the pit anymore. Ultimately, Tiamat gives up her search in disgust. She's nearer the bottom of the pit now, but it's impossible for her to tell how much farther down she'd have to press to actually reach it, and where she might find Gorouna even if she did.
Grizzle, up above, is having a better time of it. He managed to evade one mucous-dripping meowth's angry flailing, and Edward is again defenseless, an easy target for the teddiursa's brick break attack. Grizzle can't help but feel a bit proud when he has the much larger, rather intimidating persian doubled over and snarling with pain. His triumph is ultimately short-lived, though; he is completely unprepared when Eevee rushes him from the side, head lowered, and sends him flying with a powerful skull bash attack. His attack done, Eevee stumbles to a halt, then lets out another great sneeze. He can feel it--he's definitely coming down with something, and he has the uncomfortable feeling that it's whatever that disgusting, drippy meowth has.
Great.
The round isn't over just yet. In the middle limbo of the mosh pit's cushiony filling, Not a Creeper is quietly moving forward with his stat boosts. Once again the lileep gathers a great chunk of energy and shoves it out into his muscles to join the first, further buffing himself up. His untested substitute glows just before his face, content to sit and wait for the time when its master will enter the fray and it will be called upon to defend him.

Terrain Notes
The foam around Nyasha is melted and scorched into a slowly-congealing, plastic-y mess. There are traces of toxic fluid near Fondue.
Final Notes
- I was a little lenient with command interpretation this round. It's okay to have multiple possible, contingent targets for an attack, but if it starts getting out of hand your pokémon will be confused in the future. The person I'm talking to knows who they are.
- The arena's accuracy drop started to mess with things in the last action. Penicillin's facade missed, and Ganondorf's flamethrower was a glancing blow.
- Go ahead and send in your commands.
