Pokémon Registration Office

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

erm, Question: How is Tyrogue's evolution handled? Like, if I wanted any specific evolution of his, would I just say which one, or what?
You should be presented with the option to pick any one of tyrogue's three evolutions once it has enough EXP to evolve.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Approve, thanks~

And a body mod, if you please. I hope this doesn't sound as outlandish as my previous attempts were...

Body Mod said:
[Mintleaf] Snivy (F)
Ability: Overgrow

Body Mod: Minty Leaves

Mintleaf's original owner had bred her to a single goal: to make Mintleaf's leaves give off an entrancing aroma, and give an exhilarating fresh mint flavor when chewed. The breeding entailed crossbreeding Mintleaf's mother and father with the plant species Mentha × piperita, commonly known as the peppermint plant. The breeder succeeded, and as a result Mintleaf's leafy growths taste quite exhilaratingly minty. The leaves can be chewed for +5% energy, at the cost of 2% damage. The aroma given off can be smelled by opponents, and there is a 10% chance that an opponent can come forth and chew Mintleaf's leaves of energy at any given time during battle.

Effects: Mintleaf can chew her own growths to gain 5% energy, subtracting 2% damage to Mintleaf. Opponents have a 10% chance to do the same.
Thanks! I hope this doesn't fail too miserably...

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

@ Arylett and Indigo: don't put things that need approving in quotes. When an approver comes along to deal with them, the already-quoted bits get deleted by the quote button.

:[ I was going for weak to make it not overpowered.

[Holly] cottonee (f) Prankster
Signature Attribute: Tough Love

Holly grew up in a very large family; she had to fight just to get the briefest glimpse of sunlight, and often-times her siblings would even scatter around leaving her out in the open to predators. She quickly learned how to take the offensive, rather than the natural cottonee way of tricking the opponent that came so naturally to her siblings. As time went on, she became more and more brutal, using both her species pranks and her own brand of physical strength; she was not a gentle pokemon.

Effects: Holly loses some less physical attacks in exchange for more offensive ones.

Loses: Round, Natural Gift, Helping Hand, Attract, and Charm
Gains: Counter, Revenge, Retaliate, Payback, Destiny Bond

Destiny Bond seems an odd move to gain. I don't really see what it has to do with physical strength.

Whoops, forgot about that.

[Mushroom] Paras (Female) <Effect Spore>
Signature Move: Parasite

Mushroom has always been a easily scared, and a little clingy. Maybe she just wasn't cut out for a life of battling. Then she managed to find a way around it.

Common knowledge is that Paras host easily visable, parasitic mushrooms on thier back. They have learned to live in a semi-symbiotic relationship, with the mushrooms drawing some energy from Paras to survive, and Paras use the spores from the mushrooms to defend themselves.

Mushroom has found a way to mimic this symbiotic lifestyle for short periods of time. She can latch onto one of her allies in battle and share with them her knowledge and power. Alas, this also has some negative side-effects.

Bug / Status / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: 95% / Target: Ally / Energy: 3% + 1%/round / Duration: Until KO'ed
Effects: In a battle where Mushroom has one or more allies, she can be commanded to latch onto one of her allies, and form a symbiotic attachment. This means that Mushroom and the Pokemon she latched on to are considered as one Pokemon, with a maximum Health and Energy of 200% each. Mushroom dontates all of her health and energy to her ally upon latching on. Her ally also becomes able to use all of Mushrooms Special and Status attacks. Her ally also gains Mushrooms ability in addition to their own, and has their base speed reduced by 10. All atacks made by her host have their final damage multiplied by 1.8, rounded down. Her new host also takes an extra 1% damage from Poison, Rock, Bug and Ice attacks, as well as an extra 2% damage from Fire and Flying attacks. Mushroom cannot be ordered to unlatch from her knew host during the duration of the battle, nor can she attack on her own. Mushroom will only be classed as KOed when her host is. Finally Mushroom cannot latch onto any non-organic allies, such as Magneton or Metang.
Usage Gap: Once per battle
I can't shake the feeling that this is overpowered, but considering the host and Mushroom would in effect be one Pokémon up against two, it seems pretty reasonable. Approved.

That's. A good point. The idea was to have it be a little bigger than him, but I guess I sort of got carried away. (Riolu are two and a half feet tall? They look so... Human-like. XD) Here's version 2.0.

[Eidolon] riolu (M)
Ability: Steadfast
Signature Attribute: Swordfighter

Eidolon is not an average riolu, for one reason and one reason alone: He has a sword. He was born in Iron Mountain, which is an ancient cavern on an island, and where you find ancient caverns, you find tombs, and where you find tombs, you find treasure, and armor, and, most importantly at the moment, swords. His is about three feet long, which is average for a sword, but riolu are two foot four. Of course, riolu are also famed for never giving up, which, although rather cheesy, helped here. A few years later, he got captured by Mendatt. Now he has a sword. And he hits people with the sword, because that's what swords are for.

Effects: Eidolon's sword, and the strength he needed to be able to use it, makes him capable of incredible feats of power. Unfortunately, it's size makes him completely unable to move at the speeds he otherwise would.

When Eidolon is sent into battle, his attack is greatly raised (+2), and it cannot be lowered below -4. However, all of his moves with a speed priority of zero have a speed priority of -1 instead. As well as that, using his sword Eidolon can use the moves Night Slash, Psycho Cut, and Slash, but due to the weight of the sword, he cannot use the moves Bullet Punch, Detect, Feint, Quick Attack, and Vacuum Wave.

This better any?

You could probably get a few more than three moves if you're getting rid of six, but if that's all you want/can think of, I guess this is approved.

Since removing lots of damaging moves wouldn't really make sense, I mostly removed some moves that Frillish can't learn but Alomomola can. I also realized that Alomomolas can already learn Shadow Ball, so I fixed that as well...

(Prijetnja) Alomomola [F] <Hydration>
Signature Attribute: A Ghostly Past

As a young Alomomola, Prijetnja did not see all of the allure of helping those in need. While all of her friends would go off on their “healing classes”, Prijetnja would travel off towards the local Frillish Colony. Here she learned the ways of the ghost fish, and the culture of the Frillish. Though she could not phase through things, or have connections with the dead, she appreciated the culture of the Frillish much more than her own. Thus, it was to her horror when her colony, after being attacked by a rampaging Gyarados, had been decimated in one of her absences, and there was nothing she could do. She watched as her friends and family died around her, not knowing powerful enough healing techniques. Unable to live with the shame of being an Almomola that could not heal, she left her ravaged colony to look for a new life.

Prijetnja drifted through the vast oceans for weeks, falling into hysterical hallucinations caused by pain of loss, hunger, and loneliness. After over a month of this, poor Prijetnja came upon a beach, and she lay there in the cold sand, wanting to die. If not for Levijatan the Golurk finding her mere hours later, she would have passed away like the rest of her colony. Levijatan dragged Prijetnja to Ampharos, his trainer, and they dabated what to do with this poor specimen. At this point the Alomomola opened her eyes, and she saw the Golurk, and knew she had a new plan of action. Prijetnja had always felt more intone with ghost-types, and now she wished to become one.

She spoke with Levijatan, and the emotionless golem agreed to the seemingly impossible task. The two performed what at best could be called experiments, transferring ghost-type energy in to Prijetnja. It was a horribly painful experience, but the Almomola lived through it. After working for over a day straight, Prijetnja had become what she always dreamed of being, a ghost-type. Really all that had changed on the outside was the fact that she was now a dark purple colour, and her eyes a blood red. But on the inside she felt like an entirely new person. She could harness new moves, have connections with the dead of her colony (albeit small ones), and even float above the ground if she tried hard enough. All in all, Prijetnja finally felt that she had a reason to live.

Effect: Prijetnja is Ghost and Water-type. She also has the ability Levitate, but as this is not her natural ability she loses 2% energy/round. This means she can battle on arenas that would not normally support Water-Pokemon that cannot manoeuvre on land. The experiments that were done on her by Levijatan weakened her slightly mentally (as did the time floating at sea), so she will start the battle with –1 Sp. Def. However, because she is now Ghost-type, she gains +1 Sp. Atk to start the battle, as Ghost-types are formidable in that stat category. She also goes through the following move changes.

Lost Moves: Aqua Ring, Heal Pulse, Psychic, Helping Hand, Return, Healing Wish, Aqua Jet, Wake-Up Slap, and Mirror Coat

Gained Moves: Hex, Ominous Wind, Shadow Sneak, Curse, Dream Eater, Nightmare, and Hypnosis

Hope this works now.

Approved.

Gah, I made it worse. Like Meet the Robinsons, KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

[Mr.Turtle] Squirtle (M) Torrent

Sig attribute: Asthma
Mr. Turtle is an asthma patient, just like his Trainer. It happened when his owner was a baby, and his house was being remodeled. Both inhaled one to many wood shavings, and got afflicted by asthma. His allergy is usually activated by normal means, such as sand, pollen or wind carrying any of these things. However, being taught by a movie to keep moving forward, his special attack is increased by 1.

Effects: Mr. Turtle's asthma has a 30% chance of being activated each round when hit by one of the following moves, Abilities or situations: Sand Stream, Sandstorm, Sand-Attack, Sand Tomb, Dig (if hit by sand), being hit by sand, Sweet Scent, Petal Dance, any wind move that carries pollen and/or sand. Once Mr.Turtle's Asthma is activated, he will recieve a -3 in Special Defense that cannot pass the +6/-6 limit. and has a 45% chance of sneezing (flinching) per action. This can only be removed if a healing move (Recover, Heal Bell, Refresh, etc.), and it and all of its effects are removed for the rest of the battle. In addition, he gains a +1 Special Attack that cannot pass the +6/-6 limit because of the catchy catchphrase of the movie.

Approved.

Here are 2 sig moves that are only good in double battles.

[Atlas] Bronzor (Heatproof)

Signature Move: Blue Portal

Description: Atlas is a very special Bronzor; it was MADE at a company called Pokéture Science to test their hand held portal device, capable of making a doorway that you can enter anywhere and leave anywhere. Using this device, Atlas can make a Blue Portal, which is linked to P-Body's Orange Portal.

Type: Psychic / Stat: None / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: 100 / Target: Whatever it hits / Energy: 15% / Duration: Until another portal of the same color is shot
Effects: Atlas launches a Blue Portal. When used with P-Body's Orange Portal attack, it creates a doorway exiting out of the other portal.
Usage Gap: Once per round.

[P-Body] Elgyem (Telepathy)

Signature Move: Orange Portal

Description: P-Body is a very special Elgyem; it was MADE at a company called Pokéture Science to test their hand held portal device, capable of making a doorway that you can enter anywhere and leave anywhere. Using this device, P-Body can make a Orange Portal, which is linked to Atlas's Blue Portal.

Type: Psychic / Stat: None / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: 100 / Target: Whatever it hits / Energy: 15% / Duration: Until another portal of the same color is shot
Effects: P-Body launches a Orange Portal. When used with Atlas's Blue Portal attack, it creates a doorway exiting out of the other portal.
Usage Gap: Once per round.

Both approved.

[Gemini] Elgyem [♂]
Synchronize

Signature Attribute: Keeping an Open Mind

Gemini, like most every elgyem in existence, is pretty telepathic by nature. His brain is an open book mixed with a radio operating on all channels mixed with another bad simile. Willing minds open up to him with ease, and his own mind is always open. In addition to this, Gemini is gifted with the Synchronize ability, granting him the ability to psychically copy his discomfort onto the opponent. During a freak accident with a rotom, a microwave oven, and some tinfoil, however, Gemini's ability and natural penchant for open mind-to-mind communication have been warped and twisted to create a rather special capability in battle.

Gemini is even more connected to his opponents (and teammates) than ever before. The extremely open mental communication that goes on in his presence can cause all sorts of strange effects; random abilities from pokémon in the area are transferred to him or others on the field, or stat changes and status afflictions can be removed from one to another, again randomly.

Effects: Gemini and all other pokémon currently participating in the battle will gain a random ability from their teammates, opponent's teammates, or 'ambient' pokémon that live in the area. This happens at the end of the first round in which Gemini participates, and once every two rounds afterward. The effect is nullified if Gemini faints, is withdrawn, or otherwise loses all mental function (sleep does not count, being turned to stone by the arena does). Gemini can not cause anyone to gain the ability Wonder Guard. Transferring abilities causes Gemini some fatigue, deducting 2% energy for each pokémon that gains an ability.

Furthermore, when abilities are transferred, Gemini's stat changes and statuses (even attraction, if the opponent is the opposite gender) have a 50% chance to be copied onto all or none of the affected pokémon. Since the statuses are psychic in nature, fire-types can be burned and steel-types may be poisoned.

Approved.

Arylett Dawnsborough said:
[Novale] Growlithe (M) <Intimidate>
Signature Move: Arkra Nova

From being stuck in that volcano for so long, as previously mentioned, Novale has gained immense fire power. With hard work and training, his trainer managed to teach him how to unleash most of the fire he emanates in a massive burst of searing heat.

To use this attack, Novale channels all of the heat from his sizzling fur. Several tongues of flame come outward from his body as he begins to gather up all of his energy. A ring made of immensely bright red fire forms around the tongues of flames, connecting them and surrounding him. Then he unleashes it. The tongues emanating from his body let go of the ring of fire, and it spreads outwards quickly and destructively, striking all targets in the vicinity, friend or foe, until it slowly dissipates. In doing so, he temporarily sheds the intense heat from his body and loses his ability to use more intense Fire-typed attacks. But retains his heightened weakness to Water-type attacks and Rain Dance.

Type: Fire / Stat: Special / Base Damage: 11% / Accuracy: 95 / Target: All / Energy: 9% / Duration: Two actions; one to charge up the energy and one to unleash it.
Effects: After the move is used, Novale loses most of the positive effects of Red Hot; his 1.1x bonus (but also does not get the 3% energy addition of Fire-type moves over 40 base power). He also loses the 1% damage subtraction from opponent Fire-type attacks and Water-type moves below 35 base damage do super-effective damage and no longer do neutral damage. These effects linger for 4 rounds. However, he still takes 1.2x more damage in addition to STAB and super-effectiveness from Water-type attacks above 35 base damage and still gets his Special Defense/Defense lowered in the Rain by 1. This attack also does not get the 1.1x bonus from Red Hot when used, due to him shedding the very heat that powers up his Fire-type attacks in the first place.

Arkra Nova also has an 8% chance of inflicting a burn.
Usage Gap: Once per battle

Approved.

The breeding entailed crossbreeding Mintleaf's mother and father with the plant species Mentha × piperita, commonly known as the peppermint plant. The leaves can be chewed for +5% energy, at the cost of 2% damage.
I assume the 2% damage always comes from Mintleaf rather than the chewer, but as it is it could be interpreted as the latter. Rephrase that.

Is the chance of an opponent chewing her leaf calculated each action or each round, and does it take the opponent a full action to do so?

(also, I believe this sig move got skipped over a while back.)

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

I was going to, but I ended up getting rid of priority moves based on speed and getting critical domain 2 moves that are the same type as other moves riolu can learn. I could probably take vacuum wave out of there, since it's more based on distance, but I'm not really sure what it does. Anyways, I'll add more when it evolves and gets more access to stuff.
Anyways, Hurray! Time to add that to my profile.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Accelgor (Female) <Hydration>

[Cherufe] Slugma (Male) <Flame Body>
Signature Attribute: Toxic Body

Most Slugma have lineages that are generally balanced, although they tend to contain many Slugma and Magcargo of course. This means that they tend to hatch made of lava. Cherufe, on the other hand, has a family tree that contains pretty much only the Slugma and Magcargo needed to cause him to be born the same species. Pretty much the entire test of his lineage is composed of poison-types: Grimer, Muk, Koffing, Weezing, Gulpin, and Swalot can all be found there in fairly large quantities, a couple of generations back you can find Trubbish, Garbodor, Roselia, and Roserade; if you go back far enough you can even find a variety of grass-poison types, like Victreebel, Venusaur and Amoonguss. All this has had an effect on him: instead of lava, he's made of foul, viscous poison. This, obviously, has a few effects on his battle performance.

Effects: Instead of fire-type, he is a poison-type, with all the weaknesses and resistances this offers. He also loses several of his fire-type moves, instead knowing their poison-type equivalents. Because his body is similar in composition to Grimer and Muk, he can access their ability to use Acid Armor to blend in with sludge or poisonous pools. Finally, he loses his Flame Body ability, but instead, all contact moves involving him (that is to say, attacks that he makes or the opponent makes on him) have a 15% chance of mildly poisoning the opponent. This effect can stack, up until it reaches severe poisoning.

Moves lost: Ember, Flame Burst, Lava Plume, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Flame Charge, Overheat, Incinerate, Will-O-Wisp, Inferno, Heat Wave
Moves gained: Acid Spray, Venoshock, Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot, Clear Smog, Acid, Poison Gas, Sludge Bomb, Sludge, Smog, Poison Sting, Toxic Spikes

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

[Skywing] Starly (m)
Ability: Keen Eye
Signature Move: Vacuum Pump

Skywing spent many years under the care of Fire Fighter Dave, of the Johto region. This man, unlike traditional fire fighters, forsook Water Pokemon (water actually being a very inefficient way of putting out fires) and instead worked with Flying Pokemon.

Learning that fires need Oxygen to burn, and thus could not exist in a vacuum, Dave taught a variety of Flying Pokémon a very dangerous and controversial move; Vacuum Pump. By flapping their wings at incredible speed, these Flying Pokémon could literally suck the air from a fire, killing it instantly. This move, however, was greatly taxing on the Pokémon, using it actually put them in pain and exhausted them greatly.

Dave was forced to release his Pokémon under grounds of cruelty, but Skywing never forgot the move. He knows how effective it is in battle, because not only can he defeat all forms of fire attacks with this move, but by removing the oxygen from a foe's Pokémon's immediate area, it becomes much harder for them to attack, or even move.

Type:Flying
Stat:This move deals no damage.
Base Damage:This move deals no damage.
Accuracy:100%
Target:One Pokemon (or many, if they are close together).
Energy:This move uses up all of Skywings' remaining energy bar 1.
Duration:One attack
Effects:Vacuum Pump nullifies any Special fire moves that are used against Skywing immediately before the move is used. It also greatly increases the energy the target must use, doubling the amount. Skywing looses all his energy except for 1 point, meaning that no matter his energy, it will always be reduced to 1 upon using this move. Because of the great strain this move has, Skywing looses 5% health.
Use Gap:This move cannot be used twice in one battle.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

I was bored. I've had a cold for the past few days. When I'm sick I get bored. When I get bored I do stuff like this.

[Saliasteio] Minccino (M)
Ability: Technician
Signature Attribute: Appletastic!

Once, when Saliasteio was a little boy, he had an apple. Yes. He had an apple. No. I'm not going to repeat it again.
And he liked it. He liked it very much. As a matter of fact, he liked it so much that he had another apple. And than another. And than another. And than he decided that he would just pick a bunch and snack on them constantly for all eternity. And so he did. And so. He. Did.

Saliasteio is always holding an apple. When he finishes it, he gets another one. From hammerspace. Where else.
The apple counts as a hold item, and conveys the combined effects of Leftovers and a King's Rock. (It really hurts to be hit by an apple. Believe me. I know.) However, every round his apple has a 5% chance to be an Smushie Apple, which prevents the aforementioned effects for one round and causes his energy to decrease by 5%.
If he's holding an item when sent into battle, or his apple is removed by Knock Off, Switcheroo, Embargo, or another move that removes or replaces held items, he goes into APPLE FURY!, during which he does 1% more damage and spends 1% more energy, after all other calculations are done. However, every round he has a 5% chance to go cry in a corner over the sadful sadness of losing his apple.

Yeah. It's ridiculous. Hurrah.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

[Deadly Red] Corphish [♂]
Shell Armor

Signature Move: Pistolshrimped

Deadly Red's most immediately-noticeable feature is his gigantic right claw. He was born with this odd genetic abnormality, and is quite proficient at using the oversized claw in both battle and everyday tasks. And although most people would guess (correctly) that his giant claw gives hims a huge attacking advantage, many would be wrong in guessing why: Red's claw can be swung forward in a fraction of an instant, superheating the air or water around it and forming small pocket vacuums that almost reach the heat of the sun for an instant. The loud shockwave produced by this swift movement is short-range, and the superheating inconsequential, but it's enough to add that extra oomph to the strike.

Normal / Physical / 10-14% / 85% / Single / 7% / One Action

Effects: Pistolshrimped deals damage and is a priority-one move. The sound wave produced by the attack does an additional 4% damage to the target if they don't have the Soundproof ability or something similar to block the noise with. It also has a 20% to make the opponent flinch, due to the intense, very sudden nature of the attack.

Usage Gap: Five Rounds

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

[Mushroom] Paras (F) <Effect Spore>

Signature Attrribute: Tropical Subspecies

Mushroom was born and raised, Valencia Island is where she spent most of her days, chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool. Even shooting some b-ball outside of the school.

That's right Mushroom originates from the Orange Islands, and as such, she like the other Pokemon that live in the Orange Islands, have
adapted to the different climate.

Mushroom is much more used to the sun and warmer weather, and so these can affect her a little differently.

Effects: When Sunny Day is considered to be in effect, Mushroom has her Attack and Special Attack boosted by 1, due to her adaptions to work better in the warm sun. Also, due the climate of her birthplace, she is a tad more resistant to heat, and as such, takes 1% less damage from all Fire-type attacks. However, she is much more affected by the cold, and all Ice-type moves deal an extra 1% damage against her, and she also recieves -1 in both Attack and Special Attack when Hail is considered to be in effect.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Cocoa [Cyndaquil] ♀
Blaze

Signature Attribute: Chocolatey Goodness

Cocoa is, as her on-the-nose name implies, a huge fan of cookies. Further evidence includes her rotundity as well as the giant cookies with holes in them that she wears on her back. Whether they be chocolate chip (her favorite) or full metal (discontinued, due to several dental complaints), Cocoa is a friend to everything chewy, moist, and filled with lots of sugar. This has led to two things: One, Cocoa is rather plump for a cyndaquil, and two, she hatched a convoluted scheme to get her life smelling as much like her favorite treat as possible.

At her request, her trainer whipped up a batch of chemicals in his chemistry set from when he was five; when loaded into the gigantic fake cookies on her back, the mixture begins to evaporate and gives her the faint, constant scent of baking chocolate chip cookies. When the fire on her back flares through the big cookies, the chemicals react instantly with the combustion and produce an intense aroma of slightly-burnt cookies that covers the area, covering up any other smells and making her very, very happy.

Effects
: Cocoa constantly smells of baking chocolate-chip cookies. Furthermore, when she lights her back on fire (while executing a move or when ordered to do so at the cost of 2% energy per round), the cyndaquil emits a much stronger scent that has a wide range of effects. Odor Sleuth automatically targets her and only her when used, due to the fantastically overpowering scent that wafts from her. All opponent pokémon are put under the effects of a Sweet Scent attack, and abilities or attacks like Stench are completely neutralized. Making contact with her while she is flaming has a 30% chance of causing the next attack performed to fail as the attacker is caught up in the wonderful smell. Pokémon species that can at some point in their evolution have Gluttony as an ability have a 50% chance of this happening instead.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

[Conkussion] Timburr (F)
Ability: Guts
Signature Attribute: Courage

Most Timburr get enraged when they get a Burn or are Poisoned, but not Conkussion! Conkussion has the ability to both use the thermal energy otherwise causing damage when burnt to attacking power. She can also convert the toxins into an elixer to restore her energy. Conkussion also takes no damage from status effects.

Effect: No damage is taken from Burn or Poison, and beneficial effects are added.
  • Burn All physical attacks do 5% more damage as longs as Conkussion is Burned.
  • Poison Restores 5% energy to Conkussion every turn she is Poisoned

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

... That doesn't actually have a downside, you know. You should probably add one.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Also it doesn't have much of an explanation for why he can do that. But I guess this is an approver's job, so.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

[Machina] Golett X (No Guard)

Signature Attribute: Haunted Clay

As we all know, Golett are little automotons that are alive thanks to the burning energy of their souls. Machina is no exception, but he's a tad different from all the other Goletts.

In a practice battle with Youngster Joey, Machina was ordered by his trainer to create a Substitute to protect against a barrage of String Shots. Machina did so, and at first nothing out of the ordinary occurred; the clone jumped in front of all of the string.

The odd thing was that as the string covered the Substitute's body, it appeared to get... slower. As the round ended, Kam pondered to himself why the Substitute was affected by the attacks.

The clone then turned to him and asked why he wasn't being given any commands that action.

~~~
Effects: When Machina uses Substitute, the effects of the attack are rather... different.
First of all, it takes him an additional 3% energy to summon a Substitute.
Instead of summoning a body double, Machina instead summons a combat drone (we'll call him Jason).
After the end of the round he is created, he will be treated like a regular Golett. He is not immune to poisoning, burns, stat-boosts/lowerings, or anything else that he would be immune to as a substitute. Opponent attacks will still target Jason before Machina, and he can still be destroyed if he takes enough damage.
Jason can do anything he wants free of energy, but at the end of the round his life force will drain away and he will crumble apart into a pile of bricks. (Jason!!! D:)
~~~

This is balanced because Substitute is a very useful move. And Golett can't learn Explosion, so no suicide bombers. (Although... why would anyone command Jason to explode?)

[Soldier] Rufflet (male) <Sheer Force>

Signature Move: Screamin' Eagles

Soldier is a fighter by nature, and has been trained to work as a team. He fancies himself a leader of sorts, even if he's not the oldest of his squad, and will act as such. He's very fond of giving orders, and even if it may be a bit embarrassing to get screamed at by a little fluffy bird, there's just something invigorating about being incited into a patriotic charge at the foe.

And so Soldier takes great pride in his loud cries, screaming out a challenge, order, or pep talk of sorts to his team who can hear him.

Soldier tends to give a different sort of cry depending on how healthy the enemy is, so there are a few different effects his screams can have over his teammates. In case there are foes in multiple domains of the attack, the highest domain takes effect. All status boosts last as long as normal boosts would unless otherwise noted, but they will wear off if Soldier faints or the Pokemon becomes depressed or upset. All effects are applied to Soldier himself as well. The effects do not stack: if he uses it again, the old boosts are replaced by the new ones.

100%-51%: Buff Banner - Soldier screams a challenge to the foe, before encouraging his allies with a bugle-like warcry. This grants a +1 to the Attack of all allies, and they are treated as if under the effects of Focus Energy for one action after this attack is used. After using this attack, Soldier takes 2% recoil every time he makes a physical attack for 3 actions.

50%-26%: Battalion's Backup - Soldier orders his allies to not let their guard down, threatening to 'strangle them with their own frilly training bra' if they let him down. This grants all allies +1 to Defence, and they are treated as if they gained the ability Battle Armour for two actions, at the cost of a -1 to Attack and Special Attack.

25%-1%: Concheror - Soldier encourages his allies to glory in the defeat of their foes, causing them to regain 2% health each time they land an attack on a foe, for 3 actions. Soldier takes a -1 Speed penalty for the same amount of time.

Type: Fighting / Stat: N/A / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: -- / Target: All Allies withing hearing range / Energy: 5% / Duration: one action
Effects:
Buff Banner (100%-51%): + ATK to all allies, Focus Energy effect for 1 action. Soldier takes 2% recoil for using physical attacks for 3 actions
Battalion's Backup (50%-26%): +1 to DEF, treated as if having Battle Armour Abiliy for 2 actions. -1 to ATK/SPATK
Concheror (25%-1%): Regain 2% Health every time they land an attack for 3 actions. -1 SPD penalty to Solider for 3 actions
Usage Gap: 6 actions

Justin Beaver [Bidoof] (F) Unaware

Signature Move: Internet Sing

As Justin Beaver's name suggests, she likes to sing. Specifically songs from the internet. So her trainer found a way to make use of this ability. He attached a vocal transmitter to her so when she sings, things occur. Each song has an equal chance of being sung.

Want you gone: As Justin Beaver sings this song, choose a Pokemon. For the rest of the round, that Pokemon does not exist.

Still Alive: For the rest of the round, Justin's health cannot go under 1%.

Sound of my dream: All Pokemon fall asleep, and gain the Nightmare status.

Sandstorm: A sandstorm starts. In addition, for as long as it is up, all Pokemon get +1 Attack and Special Attack.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger: All Pokemon randomly get +1 Speed, Attack, or Defense, or they get a +6 in a stat of the ref's choice.
