Arena: The Great Library

The Great Library is, as the name suggests, a large library. Very large, in fact. Roughly three Wailord long by three Wailord wide, and the roof appears to be infinitely high. The walls are lined with bookshelves, and in the very center there is a very large, decapitated frog statue, though it doesn't do much. There are also three treasure chests lying around, but they contain nothing of interest - a scarf, a hat and sunglasses. These items do nothing bar make the Pokémon's FASHION, MANGRIT or COOLNESS (respectively) go up. This has no effect. It does not take a full action to open these chests, so a Pokémon could be ordered to "open the chest and then use Water Pulse", for instance.

Now, these books are something special. A Pokémon can spend an action reading one in order to add three moves, randomly selected, to its movepool. This can occur up to twice, at which point the Pokémon has too much new knowledge. They are also very old, rare and valuable, so nothing can be used that will destroy the bookshelves. This is basically limited to burning or soaking them, since they are hardbacks and therefore resistant to force. Also for the love of Jebus please don't read the one with erotic fanservice about the queen

Other: Also, for the duration of the battle, Karkat Vantas looks like this, and Squornshellous Beta looks like this. Probably not going to affect anything, but eh.

Karkat Vantas' active squad:
- Kappa (Male Marshtomp - Torrent - @Water Stone)
- Surinam Shitfucker (Male Croagunk - Dry Skin - @Rocky Helmet)
- Lunosa (Female Grimer - Sticky Hold - @Black Sludge)
- The Heckler (Male Murkrow - Super Luck - @Red Card)
- Esperanza (Female Ledyba - Swarm - @Eviolite)
- Concrete Beater (Female Dwebble - Shell Armor)
- Machina (Genderless Golett - No Guard - @Earth Plate)
- Vitamin C (Female Ferroseed - Iron Barbs - @Lucky Egg)
- Almighty Electric Flounder (Female Stunfisk - Static)
- Optica (Female Deino - Hustle - @Exp. Share)

Squornshellous Beta's active squad:
- Ni Wá Wa (Genderless Baltoy - Levitate)
- Strigiformes (Male Hoothoot - Insomnia)
- Bactrian (Female Numel - Oblivious)
- Namahage (Male Duskull - Levitate - @Reaper Cloth)
- N-Gon (Genderless Porygon - Trace - @Up-Grade)
- Romeo (Male Nidoran - Poison Point - @Moon Stone)
- Juliet (Female Nidoran - Poison Point - @Moon Stone)
- Han Tang (Genderless Bronzor - Levitate - Signature Move: Move Swap)
- Brick (Female Eelektrik - Levitate - @Thunderstone)
- Raqs Sharqui (Female Litwick - Flash Fire - @Dusk Stone)

I rest fairly assured that there are some signature attributes out there that the system's limitations have made me miss; inform me if such is the case.

The flip of eleven Canadian quarters dictates:
- Squornshellous Beta sends a hoser out first
- Karkat Vantas sends another hoser out and talks to it aboot what it's meant to do
- Squornshellous Beta gets free healthcare
- I ref once the northern lights are out, eh

Okay, this isn't that hard. Stat-boost and stat-lower.

If he tries to attack, use Struggle Bug... UNLESS the move is Gyro Ball (or Hypnosis/Confuse Ray), in which case Smackdown.

Once he's hit the ground, Bulldoze all the way.

Struggle Bug/Smackdown/Bulldoze x3

Calm Mind twice, then Hypnosis. Since we're not attacking it directly, it shouldn't be able to actually act, and since we're slower than it, it won't Smack us Down. I hope.

Calm Mind ~ Calm Mind ~ Hypnosis

I thought Pokémon acted according to their opponent's actions, not their commands! D:

> Karkat: Be God-Tier John.
> SB: Be Grimdark Rose.
>MF: Be a gigantic dinosaur.

Sadly, the third one of these commands did not work, for some reason. Thus, the referee settled for just being an average Prospitan. As per standard procedure, he then reread the rules for the match and gave the signal to commence sendouts.

One of the battlers to take the stage was an hexagonal, metallic being of notably fire engine red color, contrasting with the blue eyes. Its opponent was an orange crustacean, mostly hidden into a rocky shell.

With another signal given, the battle began.

Concrete Beater first took a look around, but decided that there would be more benefit in simply beating the opponent instead of concrete. So, for the first strike, it started to flail around, to no immediately apparent avail. It was something of a slightly disturbing sight, in fact. Unfortunately, the attack’s target was deeply focused, with eyes closed and barely paying any attention whatsoever to the display. Noises managed to briefly capture its attention, though, and it couldn’t help but feel rather disturbed.

When Han Tang’s eyes opened fully again, it was to cast a disconcerting glare. Capturing the foe’s eye contact, the Bronzor started to spin. Spin, and spin, and spin, and spin. In an extremely boring way. When the opponent was already starting to feel sleepy, that was when the final blow would be landed. A psychic wave was broadcasted from the mirror Pokémon’s eyes.

Having been warned about Hypnosis by her trainer, however, the Dwebble saw the attack coming and managed to close her eyes just before it was too late. The eye contact’s breaking also meant the falling apart of the entire move.

Shaking off the minor sleepiness earned from watching the spinning relic for too long, the hermit crab used Rock-type powers to heft a chunk off the tiled floor, which she threw right on top of her enemy. The heavy floorpiece easily bound the levitator onto the ground, despite its best attempts to lift off.

It was only then that the Concrete Beater noticed, that beheaded statue over there is probably made of concrete.

FFF-

Well. We need to get back into the air, so... Psychic to levitate it into the air and keep it from doing much and hopefully damage it somewhat. Then, keeping it there, Skill Swap twice so's we can get back into the air. Because technically you'll be gaining Levitate.

Psychic + Skill Swap + Skill Swap
