Well, he said he was going to take it... And he never really did. I'll ask him if he still wants to ref it, or if I can.

Let's go Dave & Sollux.

Dave:
Thunderpunch Suijin three times, but if he Protects, Detects, or is about to use Counter, use Dragon Dance. If either Flaress or Suijin try to inflict a status on the first turn, use Detect.

Thunderpunch @ Suijin/Dragon Dance/Detect ~ Thunderpunch @ Suijin/Dragon Dance ~ Thunderpunch @ Suijin/Dragon Dance

Sollux:
Trick Room first, then use Safeguard, and then let's use Heal Block on Suijin.

Alright, here we goooo~

Flaress:

Use Fake Out on Sollux. We cannot let him use that move. Then use Will-o-wisp for a guaranteed burn. And finally, finish it off with a cruel Hex!

Fake Out @ Sollux ~ Will-o-wisp @ Sollux ~ Hex @ Sollux

Suijin:

Let's use Yawn. Since our opponent said if we tried to status on the first turn, I'm pretty sure we're safe. Then use Scald on Dave twice. If it burns the first time you use it, however, use Iron Defense on the next.

Yawn @ Dave ~ Scald @ Dave ~ Scald @ Dave/Iron Defense

Flaress looked around her, not feeling at all at home in this environment. So much water made a Fire-type like her cringe. And speaking of cringing, the fox charged at one of her opponents, the floating one. The levitating organism made no move as the fox charged him. The Vulpix made a big show of attacking with the power of an Explosion, spooking the Solosis, and then, with a deke, hitting the Psychic-type with only a small amount of damage. Suijin saw the weak attack his partner performed, and decided grudgingly that he was most likely not going to accomplish much more. He let loose a long and wide yawn. However as he looked over at his target, the Scraggy, Dave, he saw that the Pokemon had assumed a wicked fighting stance. However, this yawn did not require the Scraggy to pull off an insane acrobatic dodge. He just focused on NOT yawning. Soon he felt the pull of drowsiness leave him, and he could relax again. Suijin stared at his opponent in disgust, and Dave just smiled with all of the happiness of a bully. Sollux meanwhile was not able to quickly recover from Flaress’s shocking display; making so very little was displayed on that action.

Flaress, happy that her technique had worked how her trainer had anticipated, decided to keep up the good work. She began to generate a few blue flames in front of her, and she tainted these little burning motes with some ghostly energy she had picked up from her days of directing curses at people. She sent these slowly moving flames towards Sollux, and though they moved at a snail’s pace, Sollux made no effort to dodge these flames, and the Solosis simply let the flames strike its gelatinous coating. A burn mark was left, but thanks to the Pokemon’s ability the Sollux would not feel any pain. Dave saw the un-enthusiasm being displayed by his partner and decided to get the battle moving a bit. The Scraggy charged forward across the deck and soon his body was crackling with electricity. Suijin began to sweat a bit as he saw his opponent come closer. The Scraggy delivered a jarring punch, sending some electricity the Squirtle’s way. Suijin screeched as the punch threw him backwards, where he bounced off of the ship’s railing.

Suijin growled as his opponent back away slowly. Suijin did not like being punched around with such force by his opponents, and he planned to get back at them. As if he was preparing any other Water-type attack the Squirtle began to fill his mouth with the liquid. But as he let the water swirl around he began to heat it. As it started to burn his mouth he spat a burst of the water at his opponent, the fluid steaming as it flew through the air. Dave recoiled as the attack struck his skin, and he growled in return to Suijin’s exclamation as the boiling water started to drip off of him. Sollux actually decided to make a move at this point. He generated a force field of energy that surrounded both he and Dave. The energy shield was only visible thanks to the pale green aura that shone around the two Pokemon, slightly sparkling in the light from the sun. Neither Suijin nor Flaress knew the effects of the force field, but they didn’t want to take any chances.

Flaress’s plan had worked perfectly so far, and so with not a care in the world she began her next attack. Using another tactic the Vulpix had learned from her days of being one who cursed on a daily basis, she began to chant one of her old hexes, hoping to cause some real pain, though she was a bit rusty when it came to inflicting pain in that way. However, the effect worked perfectly, and for the first time Sollux responded to stimulus and cringed as the foul spell inflicted him with a horrible pain. Dave, enraged at the pain inflicted upon his partner decided it was time for him to start attacking again. He once again charged forward, letting electricity channel all through his body. With his other hand holding up his trousers he once more delivered a fierce jolting punch that sent Suijin careening backwards again.

Suijin, already tired of the battle, once more began to flood his mouth, letting the water’s temperature start to skyrocket again. Once more he left the liquid in his mouth until the water was about to start hurting him, and he rocketed it out of his mouth, searing through the air and hitting the Scraggy once again. Dave began to panic as he saw the water begin to make a mark on his arm, but was amazed as the mystical energy field surrounding him seemed to cure the ailment instantly. He was starting to respect his partner much more now, and he was still more amazed when the Solosis responded, having read his thoughts. Now Sollux used his Psychic power to send a “freeze” over his two opponents. None of the Pokemon on the field understood the effects of this attack, but Dave had learned that his opponent might not look like much, but he was capable of much more than he had previously expected.

Alright. First, use Brick Break x3 on Dave. However, if Sollux at any time attempts to use Trick Room again, use Bite on him in hope for a flinch. If you are Tormented, use Iron Defense on the next action/s. If either Protects, make 2 clones using Double Team.

Flaress was to start off the round again. She had very closely observed Sollux when he had conjured up the mystical force field used to block their status-inflicting attacks, and now she was grateful for this as her trainer had ordered to perform the same manoeuvre. Flaress summoned up a barely visible energy shield around her and her partner, once again barely visible except for the twinkling green aura that displayed the rough shape of the force field. The two Safeguards seemed to meld together almost, creating what one would interpret as a 3-D Venn Diagram. Suijin, now happy that his very useful partner had helped their cause along, normally would not have been able to perform an attack before Dave had struck him, but the Scraggy had curiously decided to back off and let Suijin work. Well, Suijin was not going to pass off such a gorgeous opportunity, so he charged forward at Dave, this time going for a physical approach. He delivered two quick punches that rattled the Scraggy slightly, but he didn’t seem to mind at all, having once again assumed a fighting stance.

As Suijin prepared to hit with his third and final blow, he was stopped short as his opponent grapped his fist right before he made contact and, taking advantage of Suijin’s lack of balance delivered a much mightier onslaught of six gut-wrenching punches with double the power of Suijin’s blows. The Squirtle squealed out in pain as he was pummelled, but Dave quickly let off, and the Squirtle was allowed to back up again. Sollux had watched this entire exchange, and he finally decided to use a damaging move against Flaress. Sollux summoned up his wide tracts of Psychic energy and sent a mightily powerful blast of energy at his Vulpix opponent. Flaress had not expected this Solosis to actually damage her, and so she was taken off guard as the energy lifted her off her feet, and then quickly nocked her back down onto the deck of the boat again. She groaned as she pulled herself up, not having been aware of the potential of her seemingly harmless, floating opponent.

Flaress now had many intentions to inflict much more pain than was needed against Sollux, but first she had much more pleasant business to attend to. Flaress thought of herself as a very attractive Vulpix, and it was now time to demonstrate this pure sexiness in front of the dear Sollux. She began to prim herself, making the sheen of her fur stand out immensely, batting her eyelashes, and whipping around her tail with a mild seductiveness about it. Sollux had originally seemed quite unemotional, but one could see beneath the cytoplasm his small face blush. Flaress saw this, and realized that she had somehow accomplished this amazing feat of getting an emotional response from the Solosis. Suijin was now once again presented the opportunity to attack before Dave, but for the life of him he couldn’t remember what he was supposed to be doing. All of those attacks his trainer had ordered were swirling around his head, so he really had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. Finally he decided not to waste all of this time, and he simply chose one of his commands. Running forward, this time at Sollux, the Squirtle sunk his jaws into the soft jelly-like outer coating of Sollux’s body., his teeth coated with dark energy. The distracted Sollux was slightly put off by this sudden onslaught by his other opponent, but when he looked around the Squirtle looked just as frustrated, feeling that he had most likely used the wrong move. Because of Suijin’s failure, Dave had nothing he could possible do in the situation, so he kept up his fighting stance in anticipation.

Now Sollux was starting to feel worried that he had two opponents to worry about, neither of which were nice to him. Well Flaress was a seductress in disguise, but she had still hurt him quite badly last round. And now it was his sole duty to prevent any more pain from reaching him. Sollux concentrated and, using his great fountain of Psychic energy he created a giant yellow shield that stretched through the safeguard and seemed to shimmer in the air between the two teams. Flaress seemed to recall seeing the attack in her previous experiences in battles, but she couldn’t quite remember what it did. Well, there was nothing better to do than just see what would happen. Once again she began to cast a magic spell that she knew from her past. This time however, she had to work extra hard to send the hex on its way, and when the curse finally made its way through to Sollux, she realized that the power of the attack had been decreased significantly. She sighed. She remembered what Light Screen did now.

And for the third time in the round Suijin was given the glorious opportunity to attack before Dave, even though by now he knew the only real reason was so he could retaliate with a wonderfully powerful Counter. But once again Suijin had no idea what is trainer was asking him to do. So. Many. Commands. He once again selected an option, and with a turn of the tail he began to run forwards and backwards at an insane speed for a Squirtle. As he ran more copies of Suijin began to appear on the battlefield, two to be exact. As he continued to run the Squirtle copies became more defined, and soon there were three identical turtles standing before Sollux and Dave. The Scraggy was once again at a loss for what to do, and just let his arms droop, cursing his opponent for not ordering a conditional command. Sollux had by then realized that his opponent was not accomplishing anything, and that it was time for him to attack for the both of them. Once again he summoned up a fair bit of psychic energy, and he sent this powerful blast at Flaress, once again blasting the poor Vulpix off her feet and back down onto the hard surface of the deck, jarring her once more.

Flaress had been commanded to wait for a while before performing her attack, so Dave was given a perfect opportunity to attack first that action. He started to dance around the deck of the boat madly, not being much of a graceful Pokemon. However, his hasty twirls and unbalanced jumps still resulted in a proper finish, and as soon as he waddled back to his position the first few drops of rain began to fall from the sky. In a matter of seconds the entire arena was being pelted with a horrible downpour. Suijin did not feel at all miffed by this, actually happy that his opponent had given him the opportunity to perform his own attack much more powerfully. He called upon the powers of the ocean, and soon the waves the boat was floating on started to increase in size. Flaress was incredibly unnerved by the makings of a gigantic storm that seemed to be appearing. Soon a gigantic wave loomed over top of the boat. Suijin and his clones jumped off and into the cascade, and soon that had swum up to the top of the wave. The torrent crashed onto the deck of the boat, completely immersing the three Pokemon still standing there. Dave and Solosis were protected slightly by the Light Screen, but Flaress took the full force of the attack. Immediately afterward the waves calmed down again, and Suijin, clones following obediently, returned back to the deck.

As the water drained away Sollux shook himself like a dog to remove the water clinging to him. He now felt that the small singe on his membrane had nearly disappeared, which was a relief as that ailment was about to hurt him much more. Using his stores of psychic energy, the Solosis prepared to alter his own primary attribute. As soon as Dave breached the water, Sollux connected them mentally, and using an odd technique they both felt their inner beings change immensely. Dave felt his lust for blood decrease a bit, but he felt much more protected. Sollux felt that he was much more open to the air, and his burn was now hurting much more, but he wanted to destroy his opponents much more. As Mawile’s two Pokemon went through a great changing, Flaress pulled herself out of the water unceremoniously. She growled at her partners, and the Squirtles turned their heads away in shame. Suijin wasn’t trying anything like that again. Flaress stared up at the horribly dark grey clouds. That would not do. She summoned up the true source of her fire-type heritage, and she called out to the sun. Soon the rain began to come down slower, turning into a small shower. Then rays of light began to shine in through gaps in the clouds. With a great flash the clouds broke open and sunlight poured in, heating up the arena greatly. Dave glared at Flaress as his team’s strategy was ruined. At the exact same time the Safeguard surrounding the team disappeared, adding to Dave’s great luck.

Well, not to fret, Dave could very easily return the arena to its present state. He began to dance again, using moves that would make a dance instructor scream in frustration, but still getting the desired effect. The clouds returned and covered the sun up once more, and rain began to fall again. However, Flaress had been expecting this, and she once again called for the sun again. Just as the monsoon really started getting going again the rain began to wither, and the light of day broke through the clouds. Soon the sun was shining brightly once more. Dave and Flaress were now both frustrated that they were accomplishing next to nothing. Suijin was also distressed as he began to dry up in the furious heat, but he had to keep performing. All of the Squirtles ran forward at Sollux, sweating immensely, and delivered vicious bites, their teeth sinking into Sollux’s tough cytoplasm. Suijin recoiled at the horrible taste, both of the gelatinous substance and the dark energy that his fangs were producing. Well, if Suijin was put off, Sollux was beyond that point. The Solosis had been greatly affected by the Bite, and he was just shaking off the dark energy when he realized he had to attack. Well, he wasn’t going to be able to manage it. No Thunders coming from him that turn.

Dave sighed. He had never been good at dance at all, and now his opponent had forced him into a stalemate that forced him to do exactly that. Well, at least his opponent was just as bored as he was. He began to dance once more, now much less enthusiastically, which made his moves more bearable to watch, as sad as it is to admit. Though he knew that he was not really accomplishing anything in the way of Sollux’s attacks, the Solosis was happy to find that because he had constantly been pelted with water his burn had subsided. Flaress of course responded once more, and had the sun come out of the woodwork, shining brightly for all to see. Again. The referee, in a moment of sadistic glee, turned on his iPod and had it play “Here Comes the Sun”. Well, at least he was admitting he was bored. Suijin did also not like these weather changes. He kept thinking he was going to get relief in the wonderful rain, and then he was back in the desert, fighting to survive. Well, maybe that was an exaggeration. He charged forward at the unsuspecting Dave, and this time he finally connected with a Brick Break. His first punch shattered the Light Screen barrier as well, while the second and third strikes hit full on. The Scraggy cringed as his body was used as a punching bag.

Sollux realised at this point that him and Dave had done next to nothing in the current Round. Well, this Solosis was determined to change that. A few clouds still remained in the sky after the last Rain Dance, and Sollux started to channel his almighty attack from there. This time he began to use electrical energy for his attacks, not his usual Psychic powers. Soon the small cloud began to turn a menacing shade of grey, almost black, and one could see sparks of electricity dart across it. Though the cruise ship was now sailing calmly, the cloud still gave the appearance of a horrible storm. As Sollux finished pouring energy into this cloud Suijin looked up and noticed this floating death-mass. He swore in the Squirtle language as a brilliant yellow bolt of electricity came down and struck him perfectly. Solosis had had no trouble with angling the attack in the not so helpful weather, and he rejoiced as he saw his opponent twitch in pain. He had even managed to hit the correct Squirtle, the two clones disappearing as their master was revealed. There, now his team had actually done something. And at the same time the Safeguard surrounding the opposing team wore off, too late for any paralysis from the Thunder though.
