We should probably be enjoying the show. But instead we decided to have a Pokemon battle. Oh, how silly we are. Still, we get the cool effect of having the songs played affect the fighting.

A random song will be chosen and played at the beggining of the match. Each song has a set duration, and after that goes up, another randomized song plays. No song will be played twice. If all songs are played before the battle ends, the gig ends, but the trainers stay and finish the battle.

- All Nightmare Long (7 actions): All Pokemon are put to sleep and cannot cure this condition. When this song ends, so does the slumber.
- Cyanide (6 actions): All Pokemon are poisoned severely and cannot cure this condition. When this song ends, so does the poisoning.
- Damage Inc. (5 actions): All battlers take 10% of damage.
- Disposable Heroes (8 actions): No status moves may be used; all Pokemon act as though under effects of Taunt for the duration of the song.
- Enter Sandman (5 actions): All Pokemon have their abilities replaced by their Dream World abilities for the duration of the song.
- Fight Fire With Fire (4 actions): All Pokemon are burned severely and cannot cure this condition. When this song ends, so do the burns.
- For Whom The Bell Tolls (5 actions): All Pokemon are healed of status conditions and may not be afflicted with any new ones for the duration of the song.
- Master of Puppets (8 actions): All Pokemon gain a 10% Substitute at no price of health. When the song ends, any Substitute on field vanishes.
- Nothing Else Matters (6 actions): All opposite-gendered Pokemon become mutually attracted for the duration of the song.
- No Leaf Clover (5 actions): No critical hits may be scored and no secondary effects of moves will activate unless they have a 100% chance to for the duration of the song.
- One (7 actions): All Pokemon are struck by an Explosion and may not move until the song ends.

If any band member of Metallica is harmed by a stray attack, Metallica Fanboy will rip your fucking face off.
Other: Whether the teams are randomized or preset will be left for this challenge's accepters to determine.

Round 5 Begin!

Megatherium suddenly lunges forward at lighting speed, darting towards Shurinam. Umbra, Monopole and Shruinam look surpised (in their own way) as, claws gleaming, he slashes at Shurinam. At the very last moment, Shurinam suddenly turns and tries to run away, and for his efforts earns an enormous gash down his side. The wound gushes with greenish-blue blood, Shurinam collapses to the ground, unconscious and dying, and Megatherium begins wiping his claws against the grass, trying to clean away the annoyingly resilient blood. Monopole looks on approvingly, Umbra looks on in horror, and Karkat Vantas recalls his Pokémon, looking furious at his opponent.

The referee just grins.

Well, in honor of a defeated opponent, I will now command Sucker Punch for great effect. Do that twice, Megatherium.

Use Water Pulse instead if you're burned.

At the third action, Yawn.

Round 6 Begin!

Now that he's finally cleaned his claws of that stubborn blood, Megatherium can concentrate on the battle. He lopes quickly towards Umbra, coating his claws in a dark-type energy, and slashes at the Litwick; his claws go straight through his semi-insubstantial body, but the dark energy sears and burns him, and he lets out a scream. Monopole, meanwhile, charges up a ball of shadowy energy; when charging is complete, it's a mostly-formless blob, but still solid enough to launch at Umbra. It explodes in a burst of shadows, prompting another yell from Umbra. After a minute, though, umbra has regained his composure enough to attack: his flame doubles in size as he charges, then he suddenly exhales a burst of searing-hot air. It flickers and distorts the air it passes through, and when it reaches Monopole and Megatherium it prompts two agonized noises: one grunting growl, and one high-pitched beeping. It doesn't stay localized to the makeshift arena, though, unfortunately; many of the surrouding crowd drop to the ground, severely burned; the referee calls the League to get them some medical help.

Angry now, Megatherium repeats his attack, loping towards Umbra and slicing through him with a claw coated in dark energy; this time, though, Umbra manages to stifle the scream, determined not to give his opponent the satisfaction. Monopole, meanwhile, has been charging up another ball of energy; suddenly, though, it explodes in its face, prompting another mechanical squealing noise. Determined to finish the Metang off, Umbra exhales another massive wave of hot air; while Megatherium merely grunts in pain, the attack is too much for Monopole, who drops to the ground, unconscious. Grass King recalls his Pokémon, and the two remaining opponents glare at each other.

Nope, for the same reasons why Tri Attack doesn't.

Anyhow. First, let's cause a major inconvenience. Start with Rain Dance. Follow up with some Shadow Ballin'. Sucker Punch if Umbra is using an offensive attack on the final action (do that on the second action as well if he sets Trick Room up). Sleep Talk if you're asleep.

Take a look to the sky just before you die
It's the last time you will

Blackened roar, massive roar fills the crumbling sky
Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry

Seriously? Shadow Ball? Vigoroth has barely any Sp. Attack compared to its Attack.

Okay Umbra, Obviously start out with Sunny Day, but do it after Megatherium's Rain Dance. After that, use Overheat, it should finish your opponent off. We're screwed if it misses, though, but use Flamethrower anyway.

Round 7 Begin!

Megatherium stares up into the sky and decides it would be better with some rain. He summons up his energy and then roars into the air; many of the crowd around the field leap in shock and move away from the field. In the sky, clouds begin to form; within a few seconds the first drops of rain begin to fall, and a few seconds after that it's turned into a downpour. Umbra squeals, the rain stinging when it hits his flame; he has to do something about that. His eye and flame suddenly flare a bright yellow color and he shrieks into the sky, causing the nearby audience to clasp their hands to their ears; the rain begins to thin out, and it takes a merw few seconds to vanish completely, the clouds evaporating and the sun coming out, along with a noticable rise in temperature.

Megatherium growls, the sunlight actually worse now than when they started. At the same time, Metallica begin their next song in the background; almost immediately after, vague whirls of energy appear in front of both Pokémon, quickly materializing into perfect, if smaller, duplicates of each Pokémon. They look at their clones in confusion, but since they don't seem hostile, they can't be all bad news. Megatherium holds his claws out in front of him, charging up a ball of darkness beteen them; he launches it at Umbra, but her clone leaps into the path of the attack, which explodes into a ball of shadows, making the clone implode on itself and vanish. Umbra glares at his opponent, building up his flame for use in an attack: once it gets big enough, he opens his mouth wide, launching an enormous jet of fire at Megatherium. The Vigoroth clone leaps in the way and burns up, disintegrating within seconds; unfortunately, Umbra's run out of flame for the attack, and so has to stop, his own flame at a much reduced size.

Megatherium suddenly begins a lurching run, charging at Umbra while cloaking his claws in a dark energy. He slashes at Umbra, his claws going straight through the incorporeal being but the dark energy latching on, burning the Litwick from the inside out. In retaliation, Umbra breathes out a tongue of fire at the Vigoroth, causing him to screech and leap back, just as the round draws to an end.

Use Imprison to lock out most of your opponent's moves, then Solarbeam, and finally Flame Charge if it drags on that long. If you are Taunted before you can use Imprison, whack Megatherium in the face with a Solarbeam. If anytime your opponent Rain Dances, switch your damaging moves for Energy Ball.
