Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Lord of the Fireflies vs. Blastoise Fortooate (ref: Squornshellous Beta)

Plume.

You know what you have to do.

...

SING. BE A SUPERSTAR.

So first, you will approach Nikola (let him grab you on the belly, not the back) while singing a delightful PERISH SONG. After that, since he will be VERY close you, use Sing, and it should hit with a better accuracy since he's JUST IN FRONT OF YOU. Finally, use Mud Slap (Since he grabbed you then fell asleep he should be on the ground by now), or Sing if it failed on the second action. Oh yeah, if you have any status by the end of the round, use Refresh on the last action instead, but if Nik is not asleep use Sing in priority.

Perish Song ~ Sing ~ Mud-Slap / Sing / Refresh

BTW Squorn, does Perish Song count as a OHKO move? If it does, I'll change my commands.

Arena: Underground Forest

Several meters under the sands of the Sahara desert grows an otherworldly forest. Nourished by an underground river and lighten up by rays of sun coming from various holes in the vault, this forgotten ecosystem is the home of various plants and animals that live in perfect harmony.
The battle will take place in a vast and mossy plain, in the middle of this huge underground forest. The plain is divided in two halves by a river, wide enough to contain two Wailmers side by side. Since the current is quite strong, battling in the river will cost additional energy. The opposite half can be accessed by a wood bridge dammed by generations of Bibarels, however if the bridge is hit by a strong attack it may break apart. Sharp rocks are scattered throughout the arena, and one must be careful not to fall on those. The vault is high enough for any Pokémon to fly. Tall trees are also scattered on the plain, and home of various bugs and other arboreal Pokémon.

Effects:

-- Due to the high humidity rate, all Water moves will deal an additional 1% damage and all Fire moves will deal 1% less damage after all calculations, and every mushroom-y Pokémon will gain a permanent +1 boost in special Defense, which isn't erased by Haze and co.
-- An action spent in the river will cost an additional 1% energy for water-type Pokémon and 2% for other Pokémon.
-- A Pokémon thrown against a rock will take 3% rock-type damage.
-- A Pokémon thrown against a tree will take 3% bug-type damage for disturbing its various inhabitants.
-- If the bridge is hit by an attack with 120 base power or higher, it will fall apart and the user of the move will be attacked by a horde of Bibarels that will deal 10% Normal-typed and 5% Water-typed damage.
-- At the beginning of each round, one of each of the following events will happen with equal possibility:

1. A bunch of Combee will fly around the battlers and give some Honey to each, restoring 5% Energy.
2. A Tropius will land near a random battler, offering a banana. The banana restores 5% Health.
3. A group of Jumpluff and Whimsicott will fly on top of a random battler, dropping cotton spores. The affected battler will be considered under the effects of Cotton Spore (-2 Speed) and Cotton Guard (+3 Defence) for the rest of the round.
4. A Nosepass will come rolling around clumsily. It has a 50% chance of hitting a random battler, dealing 5% Rock-Type damage. It will then feel terribly sorry and to catch up it will try to shield the hit Pokémon. For the rest of the round, all attacks aimed at the shielded Pokémon have half of their original accuracy.
5. A Slowpoke will come out of the river and activate the effect of Trick Room for the rest of the round. If Trick Room is already in effect, its duration will be extended by three actions.
6. A Luvdisk will swim to the battlers in the river and give them some help. Each battler currently in the river will regain 3% Health and Energy and will be cured of every status except infatuation.
7. A baby Kangaskhan will come running to the field and will sit there for the rest of the round. If a battler uses a damaging move that is wide-spread or has a chance to expand anywhere else than on the target, the baby will be hit and the mother Kangaskhan will arrive at very high speed and will strike the meanie with a terrible punch, dealing 10% Normal-type damage. Ghost-types are affected by this attack because the said Kangaskhan has the ability Scrappy. She will then flee with her baby.
8. A very noble and snobbish Ninetales will come out of the forest and will brag about the merits of Fire-types. Every Fire-type on the field will gain a +1 boost in Attack and Special Attack because of their increased confidence. This boost is permanent and can only be removed through the use of Haze and other boost-altering moves.
9. A group of Sneasel will appear out of what seems to be nowhere and steal the battlers’ item. If no item is hold, they will deal 4% Ice-type damage the Pokémon instead. The items are recovered after the battle, unless they are consumable (Berries, Air Balloon, Battery, etc.).
10. A lonely Shedinja will appear behind a random battler and transfer some Ghost-type energy. The battler gains the ability Wonder Guard for the rest of the round.

Round 12 Begin!

As Blastoise Fortooate sends out his next Pokémon - a Pichu with a metal-colored coat - a Nosepass suddenly rolls through the arena, arms and legs tucked in to make it as round as possible. The battlers turn to stare at it in confusion, but nothing comes of it - it keeps on rolling right out of the battlefield.

Shaking his head at the randomness, Nikola begins moving. He runs on all fours over to a tree near Plume, then seems, illogically, to run straight up its trunk. In actuality he's using his tiny retractible claws, but no-one can see that. He disappears into the foliage and noises begin to eminate forth, but Plume ignores them. She begins singing a long, complicated song, and the notes, when she finishes singing them, don't die away as normal notes do, but instead hang in the air, waiting for more to join them. The song reverberates around the arena, building in power, gathering strength; even after Plume finishes the notes seem to remain, still building even in the absence of a singer. Suddenly, out of the tree, a Pichu comes flying, ejected by the Beedrill within; he lands right on top of Plume's Substitute, extending his claws into its surface to cling on.

He grins, being in the perfect position for his next attack. He flickers and sparkles for a few seconds, before loosing a massive blast of electricity into the clone beneath him. It also arcs over his metal-encrusted coat and stings him, but he gets over it quickly enough. Plume, meanwhile, is singing another song, this one much sweeter and lighter than the other; mingling with the other song in the air, it quickly takes effect: Nikola's eyes droop, slowly closing until he suddenly drops off the Substitute, smacking into the ground with a thump.

Now that her opponent's asleep, Plume feels far more relaxed. She flits over to him and, finding a sufficiently damp patch of dirt, scrapes a clod of it up, flinging it into Nikola's face. He flinches just a little, but otherwise seems unaffected, sleeping on peacefully. Suddenly, though, Plume erupts into hellfire once again; she screams, the sound mixing with the Perish Song in the air, and doesn't stop until the fire dies away, several minutes later.

Grab her - 3% damage (Nikola), 4% energy
Perish Song - 6% energy
Thunderbolt - 16% damage, 1% damage (Nikola), 7% energy
Sing - 5% energy (accuracy roll 11, needed 70 or above to miss)
Mud-Slap - 3% damage, 3% energy (accuracy roll 43, needed 100 to miss)

Notes
- From what I gathered, the tree's inhabitants were Beedrill. It's not really possible to make friends with them. RNG says she still managed to grab Plume, though - or rather the persistent Substitute.
- Sing hit, since it was used at close range.
- I figured that since Nikola's eyes were closed, Mud-Slap wouldn't be able to lower his accuracy.

Arena Notes
- This round, a Nosepass rolled in but didn't hit anyone.
- There is a strange song echoing around the arena... two more rounds until Perish Song takes effect.

Round 13 Begin!

Outside of the arena, that same Slowpoke yawns again. The trainers stare at each other as time once again agonizingly twists itself up, completely messing up how each one moves.

Plume, now moving at lightning speed, begins darting and leaping around, working her muscles in a variety of ways designed to exercise and strengthen them. Due to the bizarre way time now is, though, it seems to have the exact opposite effect: she slows down until it seems she's moving through treacle. Nikola, on the other hand, begins muttering in his sleep, then suddenly gets louder and louder until he's shouting at the top of his lungs; it echoes around the cavern and gives pretty much everything within a horrible headache, but Plume seems to be excluded. Her Substitute, on the other hand, seems adversely affected: it's clutching its cottony wings to its head, trying to ward away the sound. It seems like it's almost falling apart, even.

Even seemingly moving through treacle, Plume still manages to move first. She closes her eyes and casts her mind out in ripples, ignoring the barely-conscious mind of her clone and focusing in on Nikola's. She tears a portion of his energy from him, a pink aura showing in the physical world to evidence it. She gratefully absorbs the energy, feeling it refreshing her. Nikola begins muttering again, and suddenly leaps up, still asleep, and begins shaking his fur madly; a cloud of iron filings fly out and then, grouped together by the residual electromagnetism, clump together in a rough Pichu-shape; the thing drops to the ground then, bizarrely, begins moving round, leaping back and forth in a hyperactive manner.

Once again, Plume expands her mind out to try and find Nikola's. This time, though, she runs into a problem: there seems to be a massive, iron wall around his mind. She frowns, and just batters at the wall pointlessly; she suddenly realises she can drain energy from it. She does so, and a large portion of the iron-filing creature suddenly collapses to the ground, leaving it half a Pichu. Meanwhile, after a brief period of muttering, Nikola suddenly falls into a deeper sleep, remaining that way for a few minutes. When the ref moves to end the round, though, his eyes suddenly snap open and he leaps to his feet, darting glances at the area around him to figure out what's happened.

Suddenly, time untwists itself, leaving things as they once were. Then, once more, Plume erupts into hellish fire, burning up from the inside out.

Two things:

1. Swablu has a base speed of 50 and Pichu is 60, so unless you give a 5 point boost for each stat raise, Plume should outspeed... no?

2. Why do I have to order first again? (It can't be because of Trick Room because it wears off at the end of the round).

Those tow things don't really matter though as they will both faint soon.

Lawl. Mirror Move it just for fun (on the first action, wait until he charges) with a Dragon Pulse in between. If you can't do it, though...

Round 14 Begin!

Just before anyone can do anything, that very same Nosepass rolls through the arena again, circling around Plume for a few seconds before rolling out of the other side of the arena. The Pokémon stare at its retreating form in some puzzlement, but shrug it off quickly enough and turn their attention back to the battle.

Nikola suddenly begins sparking, electricity arcing over his metal-infused fur in little white leaps. He grins, gathering more and more of his energy, while Plume concentrates her own energy as much as she can. Suddenly, drawing on the energy she'll develop more later in life - when she should eventually evolve into an Altaria - she bursts into bright red flames, her eyes changing to a pure red color as she charges towards Nikola. His clone leaps into the way, and she smashes straight through it - it collapses, dispersing everywhere in a cloud of iron filings - and straight into Nikola himself, throwing herself against him as hard as she physically can. He squeals, nearly unable to move under the massive barrage, and a tiny ball of white energy suddenly forms in his hand; he hurls it wildly, hoping to hit Plume, but it goes wide, flying into the air and exploding into white light. As Plume keeps up the barrage relentlessly, being consumed from the inside-out by the flames, Nikola releases his charged energy, a small bolt arcing between the Pokémon; it strikes directly, and the jolt seems to bring her to her senses. The glow in her eyes fades, and the flames slowly die away; looking very ruffled, she flutters away, trying to calm herself.

Suddenly, though, something happens. The song that has been echoing eerily around the arena for several minutes now suddenly grown in intensity, becoming louder and louder and louder in a matter of seconds, until everyone in the arena is curled up on the ground, clutching at their heads. Suddenly, as one, all five scream: the song has suddenly become a song of pain and death, and the combatants feel as though their brains are exploding inside their skulls. Plume's clone suddenly disintegrates into nothingness, though no-one notices, preoccupied with their own troubles.

All around the cavern, Pokémon scream and drop to the ground, clutching at their heads to try and fend off the pain. The referee, incredibly, manages to take her hands off her ears to reach for the Pokéballs on her belt; she brings out a Reuniclus and an Electrode, the Reuniclus almost immediately clutching at its own head. It looks inside the trainers' minds to see what to do and suddenly, its eyes Electrode's, and the trainers' glowing a bright blue color, the sound vanishes for all of them; shocked, the trainers look at the referee, who stands up shakily, grins, and mutters "Soundproof and Skill Swap".

Around the arena, though, the song is continuing, if unheard to the trainers; as she recalls the Reuniclus and the Electrode, suddenly the song rises in tone once more, and now it is a song of death and doom. The Pokémon scream all the louder and suddenly fall silent, the song having finally been too much; it fades away, its purpose served. The trainers recall the Pokémon, and the referee calls the League for a large-scale Pokémon pickup.

- Present healed Plume. Or. Would have had it not missed.

Alright, I shouldn't do this, but MARS THE SHROOMISH is up.

make me proud

just a side note: how are exp points (or happiness points) calculated when Perish Song is used?

Okay, Mars. Be predictable and use Spore until she's asleep. If she moves first and tries to use Double Team, Safeguard or Substitute, Snatch it. If she's already asleep or otherwise immune to sleep, use Body Slam on the first two actions, then Leech Seed.

Spore / Snatch / Body Slam ~ Spore / Snatch / Body Slam ~ Spore / Snatch / Leech Seed

Okay, Quetzal, let's hit hard and fast. Fly as high as you feel comfortable for each attack, away from the mushroomy thing if you can. Throw down a Twister to mess up the spores, followed by a Heat Wave. End with Ice Beam.
