Oh, just pointing out, Glucinum has solid rock, so it should probably have softened the blow a bit.

Good job Shardik! Now buff yourself up with two swords dances, then sock him with a focus punch. If he does happen to wake up early though, launch another seed bomb instead.

Round 7 Begin!

Observing his sleeping opponent with some interest, Shardik knows that he has plenty of time to make his move. He begins a strange, frantic dance, spinning and twirling, dashing his claws together and building up his energy; it takes several full minutes before he finishes, and when he finally does he nearly collapses, exhausted but exhilarated, and full of newfound fighting spirit.

Suddenly, Shardik crouches down, keeping as still as he can, and begins concentrating his energy into his fist. It's a few more minutes before he does anything more, but when he does, it's dramatic: he leaps forward at a massive speed, tearing towards the little pond and, reaching the edge, leaping into the air, his fist suddenly glowing intensely bright. Over the point where Glucinum is, he turns in midair and launches himself (somehow) down into the water. He hurtles at a massive speed down through the water, smashing into the sinking Tirtouga; the impact rings out with a resounding smash; and the impact sends Glucinum hurtling down and Shardik hurtling back up. Shardik shoots straight out of the water, while Glucinum smashes into the bottom; the impact jolts her awake, and she looks around, noting her cracked shell. She comes up to the surface to glare at Shardik, who is lying on the grass, dripping and spluttering.

Oh sweet, the damage cap won't prevent us from knocking her out this round. So! Use seed bomb all the way, but chill if Glucinum protects, detects or uses bide and use earthquake if she's underground.

Round 8 Begin!

Shardik is quick to act this time, quickly scooping up another seed and imbuning it with his energy before hurling it at Glucinum. It hits, explodes, and breaks free yet another fragment of the Tirtouga's shell. Glucinum screeches and, suddenly, dives underwater, out of sight of everyone else in the area; when she resurfaces, she's tailed by another Tirtouga. Or is it she's tailing another Tirtouga? Shardik isn't going to let the exact details worry him. Instead, he takes the seed he's already prepared and hurls it at one of the Tirtouga, hoping that it's the right one: his hopes are met when the seed smashes straight into the turtle, exploding violently and disintegrating her clone in the process. From here the sequence of events repeats itself almost exactly the same, with Glucinum diving down and reappearing with a duplicate, Shardik hurling a seed at them - this time, though, it actually goes straight through the duplicate and skipping across the water; it still explodes in Glucinum's face, though, and this proves to be more than Glucinum can take: the blow knocks her unconscious, and she begins to sink. bulbasaur quickly returns her, already considering her replacement.

Pointing out that Seed Bomb should have done more than 12% damage each, seeing as Shardik's attack is now at +4. And as a result Glucinum should have probably been knocked out in two actions.

Go, Bismuth! Let's honour Glucinum with Retaliate, then Focus Blast for the rest of your actions. If Shardik Protects (it's a green shield), Swords Dance, and if he makes clones of himself, Aura Sphere. If he tries to Taunt you, use Retaliate if he does so on the first Action and Focus Blast if he does so on the last two actions.

Round 9 Begin!

To replace his fallen Tirtouga, bulbasaur calls forth a Riolu, who appears on the grass in a burst of white light.

Almost immediately, the new combatant darts towards her opponent. She tackles him to the ground and then begins pummeling at him with fist and foot, quickly and badly bruising him from head to toe. The battering continues relentlessly for almost a full minute, and then Bismuth suddenly stops and steps away. Shardik lies there and groans, and his bruises slowly begin to change color; the vague blue color faintly visible through his fur begins to change to a bright red, and that same color suddenly coats her fur too. He leaps up, charging at Bismuth, and smashes into her side in a massive tackle; hurling her to the ground he batters her remorselessly with all the force she delivered to him and more. Slowly the red glow begins to fade, and as it vanishes completely he seems to come to his senses, getting up and walking carefully away.

Bismuth, seemingly far more resilient than Shardik, leaps to her feet almost immediately and holds her hands out in front of her, her palms facing Shardik. A tiny spark of red energy begins to form in front of them, growing rapidly until within about five seconds it's the size of a basketball. Releasing her control over it, she allows it to hurtle toward Shardik, who can't dodge in time. It strikes him directly in the side and explodes violently, hurling him backwards. He staggers quickly to his feet, less hurt than he figures he should be, and ensures that Bismuth can see him before yawning widely, simeltaneously giving off a strong hypnotic signal. Bismuth catches the yawn and begins yawning herself, but tries to ignore it and concentrate on the battle.

Shardik, meanwhile, is beginning to feel the effects himself, it seems. He lies down, resting his head on his hands, and nods off into a light sleep. Bismuth, briefly shaking off the drowsiness, holds her hands out in front of her again, charging up another sphere of energy. As she goes to release it, though, the drowsiness returns stronger than ever, and her eyes droop for a second; she forces herself awake again, but too late. The sphere hurtles away into the sky, disappearing from view, and Bismuth can resist the weariness no more; her eyes close and she falls limply to the ground, just as Shardik awakes.

Round 10 Begin!

Shardik observes his sleeping opponent with some interest. Maybe, he thinks, I could follow that example and have a rest of my own? He lies down and rests his head on his hands, quickly nodding off into a light sleep. A few minutes pass by as the ref idly doodles on a pad of paper she withdrew from her bag, and then the Teddiursa begins to stir. He pushes himself up, stands up and looks about, rested and refreshed.

Suddenly, he hurls himself towards Bismuth, and begins punching and kicking at her with as much force as he can muster. The sleeping Pokémon flinches and whimpers under the assault, then suddenly her eyes snap open; she leaps upwards, hurling her fist into Shardik's chin with incredible force and actually throwing the bear bodily into the air and away from herself. This much done, her eyes slide closed again and she topples over, once more asleep.

Warily, Shardik picks himself up and staggers back over to the once-more-immobile form, feeling pain shoot through her jaw with every move she makes. She reaches Bismuth and, warily, begins once more to deliver a barrage of blows, all the time prepared to get away should the Riolu wake up. Her preperations, it turns out, are not entirely in vain, when the Riolu wakes once more. This time, though, she doesn't even attempt to land a blow, instead simply looking round and checking out the situation.

Hmm, let's do this, Bismuth. Iron Defense, Focus Blast, then, if at any point in this round Shardik created a Substitute, Focus Blast again; otherwise, Force Palm. If Shardik Protects on actions two or three, Feint that same action and push your remaining commands back. If Shardik tries to put you to sleep by Yawning on actions 1 or 2, set up a Protect shield.

Round 11 Begin!

Knowing his opponent isn't going to do anything in particular for a while, Shardik opts to rest once more. He lies down and rests his head on his arms, almost instantly drifting off into a light sleep. Meanwhile, Bismuth has her eyes closed, carefully concentrating on the steel-type element she doesn't quite have mastery over yet. A light silver aura slowly engulfs her, flickers, and goes out; she growls and shakes her head, trying again. This time, the aura completely coats her, and when she opens her eyes it slowly fades away; when she presses gently on her arm she discovers, to her joy, that the skin is significantly hardened.

Shardik begins to stir, opening his eyes and starting to heave himself upright. Quickly, fearful of the attack that might come, Bismuth throws her hands up in front of her and channels her aura into a protective shield; a shimmering green hemisphere materializes around her, and she grins, safe and sound. But really, it looks like she had nothing to worry about; the groggy Teddiursa yawns a couple of times, but seems to be making no other move.

Dropping her shield, Bismuth suddenly leaps towards Shardik. Though slightly hampered by her toughened skin, she still manages a respectable pace as she runs, and she holds her hand out in front of her. Focusing her energy once more, she forms a glowing 'bubble' around her hand, which she smashes into the Teddiursa's side with an incredible force. Shardik grimaces, but stands his ground; then he grabs hold of the Riolu's arm, hauling her in, and begins battering at her with anything she can. Bismuth is powerless to escape the barrage of punches, kicks, scratches and other miscellaneous wounds, and so is forced to simply wait there and take it until Shardik releases her. She immediately retreats, grateful indeed for her newly hardened skin.

- There's a massive crater in the ground, connected to the river and having filled up to make a little pond.

Well, it seems like you'll go first, so that's a good thing. However, considering your luck as of late, I don't want to risk the 30% chance of missing with Focus Blast or the 25% chance of being hit with Double Team. Instead, let's Substitute (10). And... well, if Shardik is still alive after that, Substitute (10) again and Endure.

Round 12 Begin!

Bismuth knows that she'll soon claim victory. She holds her hands out in front of her again, concentrating hard to force her aura to manifest; a hazy Riolu-shape materializes out of red energy, slowly solidifying until it's just about opaque. Grinning, Bismuth sits back and lets Shardik attack, which he does willlingly: he throws himself at the Substitute, thrashing around madly and slicing his tiny claws through it repeatedly. While the clone's constituent energy does dissipate into the environment and the clone itself vanish, the effort is more than Shardik can handle; he keels over, exhausted, and lies unconscious on the ground. With a grim expression, Byrus recalls his Pokémon and considers the replacement.
