Oh god, another plain white room. Ampharos was tired of the places, they creeped him out. And of course, he was with sreservoir again. These arenas seemed to have ties with res… The two Cleffas were completely matched in speed, so it was completely luck that Star got the jump on her opponent. She waggled her finger rather hastily through the air, and Eurastar backed off, realizing it wasn’t the smartest idea to be focused on her own move when she could be hit by literally anything. As soon as Star finished her Metronome summoning, she was instantly thrust into the psychic world, where she could see the true aura and the soul of her opponent. She focused on the mental manifestation, and began to try and remove any shrouds of darkness from the soul. But, there were none, so that tactic didn’t work all to well. As she backed away she realized that she could still feel the presence of her opponent’s soul, making her moves all the more easy to hit with. But, Eurastar hadn’t yet done anything to make it harder to hit her, so this was also an obsolete fact.

Eaurastar realized that she now had an opportunity to pull ahead of her opponent on the first action of the match. How wonderful it would be if she could pull out something like a Blast Burn or Megahorn on the first turn. With these happy thoughts in mind the Cleffa waggled her finger in a much more dignified fashion than Star. Sadly, this did nothing to make the chances of her getting a good move any better. Eurastar waited expectantly for something amazing to happen, but her pleas were not answered. With a few seconds gone nothing had happened, and she was beginning to feel that her attack had failed. However, just as she was about to try waggling her finger again, she felt herself start to glow with a pleasant blue radiance. She gasped, was this the opening act for a spectacular Aeroblast or something along those lines? As it turns out, it wasn’t, and afterwards the blue light faded away, Eurastar feeling exactly the same. She grumbled to herself then, realizing her attack had gone to waste.

Well, Eurastar was not going to be able to live if she gave up the opportunity to attack to her obviously much weaker opponent. She swooped in (figuratively) and did the finger gesture a millisecond before Star could prepare herself. Eurastar smirked; she was making her opponent angry already. Oddly however, as an attack was generated Eurastar found herself completely unable to attack, being held back by some supernatural force. Star stared back at her opponent for a while, wondering if she had somehow become paralyzed, when she decided that what better time for her to get her own attack in. She waggled her finger painfully slowly, aggravating Eurastar. Star liked the reaction, and returned the previous smirk. From the metronome she felt all of the power willing to come out from inside of her in one massive attack. She was nearly laughing with glee. What better time to use an insanely powerful attack than in the beginning of a match where her energy was instantly replenished. The frozen Eurastar could see how gleeful Star was getting, and couldn’t help shutting her eyes, preparing for the worst.

Star squeezed her eyes hut, knowing that she was going to be nearly exploding with the amount of energy inside of her. The power was trying with all of its might to get out of her. With a scream she let loose the gigantic blast… Which turned out to have the power of a Water Gun. Only a small pulse of energy was released from Star, which sailed over and hit Eurastar right in the forehead. Eurastar would have laughed at the complete failure of Star, had she not unfrozen at that exact moment. The attack she had just been hit by seemed to have given her new energy to attack with, and so she raced forward with a sort of maniacal lust. She lashed out quite aggressively at Star, hurting the physical part of her, and further damaging her mental state after her failure of the current action. Star dejectedly let the blows hit her, compacting the pain, trying not to feel it. Soon Eurastar felt that she had left her mark, so she backed off. She realized that she had attacked much longer than she normally would have, packing on even more damage it seemed. Star had not noticed, as she wasn’t trying to focus much on her opponent in her current state.

This left the door wide open for Eurastar, so she didn’t need to rush at all to beat Star to the punch, er, wag. As soon as her finger stopped moving she felt herself start to lighten, her outer fat layer melting away into nothingness it seemed. She looked at her opponent, and realized that this Cleffa was feeling the same effects, as they now both looked as though they had been deprived of nutrition. As soon as the Cleffas felt their skin start to retract to fit their new bodies they felt the cushioning return. The insulation seemed to surge back into their bodies in the same was as it had disappeared. In the thirty seconds this took, the two Cleffas went through what could have been life-changing transformations and then morphed back again. All in all it was an interesting experience, but Eurastar realized that this had done almost nothing for the battle, at least in her favour. Star would rejoice in the fact that her opponent had failed to do anything significant once more. But Eurastar was going to get her, and soon.

It was true; Star now felt quite happy that her opponent had failed once more. Maybe she would be able to make up for her weak move of the last action. It had been so weird filled with all of that energy, then releasing only about a fifth of its power, and letting the rest melt away. Well, it had not been the desired effect. Now as Star wiggled her finger she felt the air around her crackle with electricity. It looked like she was generating an electric attack, and from the size of the current she could feel, it was not really a significant one. But, at least there were no electric attacks she could think of that could fail to use up all of their destined power. From nowhere a gigantic yellow web appeared before Star She flinched slightly, but soon the arachnid’s home was sailing towards Eurastar, seemingly magically. The web hit the Cleffa like a net, tangling her up in the strands. She flinched much more than Star had as the electrical currents surged through her, causing a fair bit more pain than her opponent’s previous attack. Even as the electricity stopped coursing through her body she was still tangled in the webbed mess, making her feel considerably clumsier. Star rejoiced as she realized she now had the definitive speed advantage.

Star now had the undeniable speed advantage over her opponent, as Eurastar continued to try and extract herself from the yellow web strands stuck to her body. Star needed not to hurry at all, and she sent a few prayers skyward before she performed the classic finger-wagging gesture. As she finished this a small blue ball of of energy began to form in her mouth. She felt her tongue and the roof of her mouth develop a slight layer of frost as the ball expanded. She opened her mouth wide so that her struggling opponent could get a view of what was coming her way next. Before a brilliant beam of blue and white energy erupted from Star’s mouth and raced straight for Eurastar. Lenegendaryseeker99’s Cleffa had no hope of dodging this beam, and as it struck she felt a horrible chill sink through her skin. She screeched from the freezing feeling, and quickly shook herself to prevent permanent freezing, but the cold feeling was still fresh in her mind. Eurastar hissed as she realized how dangerous a battle like this could be. In contrast, Star was quite happy that she had managed to generate a powerful attack on her first try.

Eurastar herself decided it was time to strike back with a powerful move of her own, or at least she hoped so. She waggled her finger hesitantly, hoping for something good to happen. In an instant she was spitting insults at her enemy, making Star feel quite angry. Eurstar kept talking about how weak her attacks were, how nothing was fazing her at all. “Why don’t you show me something that actually hurts then?” Eurastar provoked the other Cleffa, and Star happily obliged. She ran forward on her small little legs as fast as she could, hoping to inflict some real pain, show Eurastar who was the boss. But, the other Cleffa had provoked Star herself, and obviously she was expecting an attack from Star. As res’ Cleffa ran forward trying to simply tackle her opponent, Eurastar dived out of the way at the last moment, then stretching out a leg to trip the disgruntled Star. Star went flying through the air, hitting the floor of the odd room hard. Star was surprised, as the floor had felt much less painful earlier on. Was the room messing with her as well? Just her luck.

Now Star planned to actually attack, no smart little opponent provoking her to go on some mad dash at her that has been anticipated the entire time. No, she would inflict some real true pain and not get fooled. She wiggled her finger through the air in an aggravated sort of way, hoping for something good. Out of nowhere began to drop eggs, eggs as big as her, seemingly from the ceiling of the room. They were not painful or rock hard, no that dropped beside Star herself, not doing anything to Eurastar, her enemy. Tentatively, she picked up one of the monster eggs, which were miraculously light, and tried to see if any weapon came along with them. Unable to find a way of inflicting pain, she decided that the next best course of action was to break one. She lifted it up as high as she could, and then slammed it down on the ground. Out of the cracked shell came a golden liquid that seemed to illuminate the room (if that was possible with a room that was of the brightest white). Star touched the fluid, and since it caused no pain to her, decided that this wasn’t to hurt Eurastar either. With nothing left to do she threw caution to the winds and started to drink the substance. As soon as she drank it she felt her pain start to disappear, little by little. Realizing that she had found a way to heal herself Star began to hurriedly crack open more of these magical eggs. One food frenzy later and she was perfectly healed, ready to serve up some damage once more.

Eurastar had seen the display and the happiness that her opponent was now expressing. How wonderful that was, just smashing. Hopefully her next attack would be a Hyper Beam or something, anything to get her back in the match. With dreams of Fire Blasts whizzing through her head Eurastar waggled her finger, eyes squeezed shut, not wanting to jinx the moment. Well, she did get an attacking move, but not the most prominent. Star just looked up as a giant mass of purple… stuff rained down on her. She was soon covered in sludge that stung her very much. She tried to brush it off, but the stuff seemed to stick like glue, preventing her from removing much of it at a time. She hissed as the toxins from the sludge began to seep into her bloodstream. In a last ditch effort to avoid poisoning she grabbed one of the broken eggshells and began to scrape it against her skin. Amazingly, this seemed to do the trick. As the sludge fell of her skin it became a much less solid liquid once more, settling in a small puddle. Star made sure that she was not going to walk though that any time soon. The egg shells around her ended up in this pool, and soon they were floating on it like lilies on a pond. It certainly was a unique sight.

Well, Star wasn’t going to take that lightly. What business did her opponent have covering her in such a disgustingly cruel substance? None, that’s what business she had. Star was determined to do some good hard damage this turn, no matter what Metronome gave her. If she got a status move she would make it into an attack. Somehow. Star waggled her finger again, this time with a nice melodic feel. Maybe if she played nice, the metronome gods would reward her. Well, she got her wish, to some degree. From the same magical source of materials that the sludge had came from a gigantic avalanche of rocks rained down upon the opposing Cleffa. Eurastar screamed as she was covered with boulders that dug into her skin. Soon she was in what could be described as a makeshift, yet painful, rock tent. She gingerly extracted herself from the pile of rocks and stared over at her opponent who was now clearly winning. Now it was personal.

Eurastar waggled her finger once more, hoping for something that would even out the battle again. She could admit that she had gotten an early lead that she hadn’t exactly deserved, but now nothing was going her way. As she performed the ever-repetitive metronome ritual she was pleading that she would get a Hyper Beam, no matter what the chances. Please, please, Please! Well, to make a long story short, she didn’t. As she finished the gesture nothing happened that suggested a super powerful attack that would knock Star’s proverbial socks off. No, at first nothing happened, and the battlers were caught in an awkward silence. Soon however, a shimmering wall of light appeared in front of Eurastar, growing clearer and clearer as the seconds ticked by. Soon a brilliant wall of golden light separated her and her opponent. Both Pokemon were familiar with the move and knew it wasn’t an actual wall blocking them off, just an illusion. However, Star knew that half of her attacks would now be impeded, the screen of light causing them to lose most of their lustre and power. Eurastar was still disappointed that she had not generated a Hyper Beam, but beggars couldn’t be choosers.

Star was still as happy as ever; though she knew in a battle like this the tables could turn in an instant. She waggled her finger nonchalantly, knowing that it would be horrible luck if one of her own moves turned on her. As she finished the motion she began to hear a faint buzzing noise. As the seconds passed the sound magnified until it forced the two Cleffas to cover their ears. Soon Star looked up and she beheld the origin of the noise. From above a horrendously large cloud of vicious insects was descending upon the field of play. Both Cleffas screamed, neither of them very big fans of such tiny nuisances. However, Star was spared from the attack as the bugs chose to attack her opponent rather than her. Eurastar screamed even louder as she saw this, and she tripped in her haste to get the hell out of there. She had a vain hope that her light screen that had been erected would cause most of the bugs to disappear, but she was not that lucky. The bugs made their way through the protection without suffering any ill effects. They flew forward at Eurastar and began biting her maliciously. Eurastar had ran out of breath and could only sit there, waiting for the pain and the itchiness to end. As she opened her mouth to take in air a few of the bugs made their way down her throat, causing her to choke. Soon the insects decided they had better things to do, and they went about their business, leaving poor, pained Eurastar to just sit there moaning on the ground.

Eurastar had only one thought going through her mind. Get me out. She wanted nothing more than to just return home, sit by the fire with her trainer and forget about this horrible day. But this was a battle, and she could do nothing but keep fighting until she fainted. Or, her opponent did. It was a horrible situation that presented no way out. At least she had the same realization as Star, knowing the battle could change course in an instant, making her the victor, making everybody happy. She got up with a look of pure grit and determination on her face and performed the metronome gesture in a way that broadcasted her feelings towards Star. Her malice, her spite, her vengeful hatred. Star was actually kind of scared of this display, but she managed to return the fierce stare right back at Eurastar. Eurastar was not fazed though, as she was the one who was going to win. She just knew it. From the metronome came a brilliant beam of rainbow colours that emanated straight from Eurastar herself. The beam raced forwards at an angle almost, looking like it was going to miss Star. Eurastar groaned at her luck before stopping short as the beam just clipped Star on the way past. Miraculously, the beam seemed to the same amount of damage. Star felt her skin chill as the beam struck her. It was not quite as sever of a feeling as what the Ice Beam had done to Eurastar, but it was fair damage nonetheless. She still felt fine though, as she still had the outright lead.

Well, same old, same old. The gesture used to summon up a random attack was used for the umpteenth time in the match to nobody’s surprise. Star was now as bored as any other by what the attack was, and so she performed the action with no emotional assistance whatsoever, just following orders. From the magical gesture came what felt like a burst of wind. As it blew by her Star knew that she had somehow managed to mess up. Like the Aurora Beam that had come her way, the attack was on an angle, and it wasn’t turning over. It just kept going on the wrong line. As it passed through the Light Screen (losing some power in the process) Star’s fears were confirmed. There was no way that the attack was going to strike Eurastar, it was going much too far left. Thus, Eurastar felt the same sensation as Star had, though not quite as powerful thanks to the light protection. Just a little bit of wind passing her by, not doing anything to her, just going about its business. Well, to Eurastar, it was better than the damn insects.

Now Eurastar realized with some glee that the battle was coming back to her! Get in one powerful attack here and she could be right back in this. Unlike her bored opponent Eurastar wiggled her finger with a new enthusiasm, praying once more for an attack that would absolutely dominate her opponent. Well, the attack she got had an impressive name at least, but it was nothing special really. Eurastar began to charge up power letting her physical strength get channelled into her fist. Then, with the most savage war cry a cute little pink… thing can muster, she charged forward at her opponent, hoping beyond hope that she gets a critical hit or something to bring the battle even closer to her little paws. Speaking of her paws, Eurastar delivered a massive punch right at Star’s jaw. She had gotten a little extra help in the momentum department, having jumped clean over “Lake Toxic Eggshell”. It looked almost like a cartoon watching Stra’s head spin sideways from the impact, though no little teeth or droplets of blood went flying as is customary in such programs. Star certainly felt the full brunt of the attack, and realized that maybe her lead was disappearing faster than it had come about.

Now Star realized that she needed to get back in this battle fast. Her opponent was once again matching her shot for shot, and she needed that to end. And neither of them had gotten a particularly awesome move yet. Maybe it was time for that annoying streak to end. Now she gritted her teeth as she performed the metronome wag, feeling the pain once more. Maybe she could get another healing move, that would work. But no, Star was given the most interesting move she could have possibly gotten. As the attack finished she began to run forward at her opponent, not sure exactly what was going to happen. As she ran she seemed to expand slightly, her puffiness becoming more and more large. As she got to Eurastar she didn’t punch her, kick her, slap her, or do anything lese normal. No she grabbed her. But not like she would hug a person or even suffocate a person. She had grabbed her relatively weakly. Eurastar had no idea what was going on, but she began to scream as Star’s legs began to grab her as well. The now larger than usual appendages were wrapping around her, and she was starting to feel quite pained. Now even Star’s head had wrapped around Eurastar, successfully suffocating her. Eurastar didn’t exactly feel like she was suffering much pain, it was just so awkward. Finally Star began to relent and she could breath again. Star herself didn’t exactly feel fine and dandy getting that close to her opponent, and she blushed slightly as she returned to her side of the field.

Well, Eurastar was feeling better and better, even though she was now very embarrassed. Even the referee was holding back giggles as he had watched that scene. He had scene Metronome generate some weird stuff in the past, but that was definitely the most odd. Newt time he was the referee for one of these matches he would not stop the battle until Clamp had been performed once more. Now however, it was Eurastar’s turn to hopefully, finally get a Fire Blast, a Hydro Pump, a Blizzard, Leaf Storm, Hyper Beam, SOMETHING that looked awesome. She waggled her finger while she pleaded at the same time, maybe the gods of the RNG would listen. But even as she pleaded she realized that it was not to be. All that seemed to happen was her head clearing. All of her pointless thoughts were removed and she could simply think clearly about performing her attacks. But more importantly, making them stronger. She was disappointed that the battle was still without anything spectacular, but she realized that this was probably going to do her better in the long run.
