Skyman vs. Zapi

Wait, wouldn't each of those ominous winds only cost 8% energy? Because that's what I got, using Kratos' calculator.

Last night when I checked, I'm pretty sure it said 9.
...but now it's being really strange, because at first it said 8, and then after pressing 'calculate' a few times it said 9...?

edit: I did it manually and got 8, so Sky is right.

I think it was some glitch that if you had the 'STAB?' option checked before, and then unchecked it, it would come up as 9 instead of 8. No idea why, but oh well. Anyway, commands.

First of all, Taunt her if she tries to chill at all. If she doesn't, Icy Wind on the first action, and Venoshock on the rest.

Taunt / Icy Wind ~ Taunt / Venoshock ~ Taunt / Venoshock

Alright, let's go out in a blaze of glory!

Chill first to make her taunt you. Don't worry, you'll still be able to get the chill in since you're faster, it'll just cause her to not freeze you first. Then, use Brave Bird all the way.

Good job, Star. You did far better than I thought you would.

Round VIII Start

Star knows how worn out she is. She can’t help but wanting to always give more of herself in battle, even if it means nearly killing herself in the process. She wants her trainer to be proud of her so badly…

And now the fatigue is taking its toll.

She knows she has to stop, and forces herself to the ground. She engulfs herself in a white aura, restoring energy, her tail still twitching involuntarily – she’s a Starly, after all.

Persephone seizes the opportunity. She starts insulting Star like there was no tomorrow, rejecting all her anger and hater to the bird. Usually, she would have reacted immediately, trashing at the Gastly like crazy. This time, however, Star is in another mind state. She had reached what we could call a level of plenitude, and none of Persephone’s verbal attacks would reach her.

All of a sudden, Star opens her eyes wide and the creamy white aura around her turns into a violent red. She soars up like a bullet, and soon she is only a red dot in the blue autumn sky. High up, Star finally closes her wings, and dives down to Persephone like a rocket and with the sound of a military airplane. The Gastly has the time to make an obsolete attempt at evading before the Starly crashes down on her, smashing her to the ground violently. She repeats the process multiple times – fly up, crash down, fly up, crash down. Persephone tries her best to defend herself from the barrage, spitting venom while Star dives on her, but she seems oblivious to the world around her. Recklessly, she continues to slam on Persephone like it was the only thing ever worth doing.

Only when Persephone starts to realize she can do nothing to stop the bullet that was her opponent, Star’s reddish tint fades, and her wings flap slower. Ultimately, she has to land, and as soon as her feet touch the ground, she falls off, head first.

For a moment, Persephone just stays still, staring in astonishment at the Starly, and realizes she had won.

- The grass around Persephone is rotten and decayed. The few feathers still lying there have turned black.
- Small puddles where Star’s substitute melted.
- The area is covered by a thin icy coat.

Per team. I had forgotten to make that clear.

EDIT: My orders:

Thunderbolt all the way to KO her, unless she decides to do destiny bond. In that case, use Encore to show her how much we love her doing that. Then, on the next action use Thunder Wave. Finally, end it with Nasty Plot. If she tries to use curse on you, then Protect, but never twice in a row.

Well, all you can do at this point is try to Rest. If you're still asleep on the next two actions, Snore; if you wake up at any time, Giga Drain all the way.

Skyman recalls his brave sky warrior in a flash of red light, and without a moment of hesitation sends out his other Pokémon, a smaller, cuter version of the well-known mascot of Pokémon. The Pichu squeaks happily, releasing numerous tiny sparks from his cheeks.

Round IX Start

Persephone looks at her foe in disdain. She was opposed to that ridiculous thing? Arceus, how could that laughable yellow mouse do even a small amount trouble? She continues to stare at Pika, incredulous. Finally, she decides not to bother with that and closes her eyes, surrounded by a pink veil of energy. Suddenly, all of her wounds and bruises start to disappear, washed off by the pink aura. Pika looks at his foe in astonishment, and tries not to bother. Listening to his trainer, he launches a large amount of electricity from his cheeks, and the thunderbolt crashes on Persephone. Surprisingly, the Gastly doesn’t wake up. She frowns – that resting trance seems to leech off a lot of her energy, though, and she has a hard time keeping the pink veil up when battered with thunders.

Still deeply asleep, she opens her mouth wide. Pika, well aware of Gastly’s vicious habits, raises his arms in case a snake would come out of it or something – who knows what the soul of a dead person could summon. He patiently waits for a horrible scenario to happen…

“RRRRRRRRRRR….!”

The incredible rumbling sound comes out of Persephone’s very body, making the earth shake and Pika’s ears twitch. The startled Pichu releases multiple discharges out of surprise, and sparks start to rain on the battlefield, exploding on Persephone (and around her trainer) like a myriad of tiny meteors and lighting up the referee’s sorcerer hat. Persephone keeps on snoring like a madghost, as if nothing happened, until her snoring fades away into a painful panting. Soon, she is unable to produce any sound other than a weak grumble. She releases a last, low sigh before landing, completely exhausted and still in a deep slumber.

Let's see what Johanna can do~ and wait, don't I order first this round?

Okay then! Dragon Dance twice to up your stats, then Dragon Claw. If Pika protects or uses charm on the last action, Dig (down); and Protect if he tries to use charm at any other time.

Alright, lets make this be quick.

Use charm twice. Then, on the last action, use Nasty Plot.

Round X Start

Johanna the Axew stared for a moment at her bright yellow foe. The Pichu stared at her in return, and for several seconds nothing happened. All the participants could hear was a faint breeze blowing through the plain. All of a sudden, though, Pika widened his eyes and they became all watery in an instant. Following her trainers commands, Johanna quickly summoned a green energy shield in front of her, and the opaque glass blinded her, subtracting the dragon from her foe’s irresistible glare. Slowly, though, it was becoming harder and harder to keep the Protect up, and Pika wouldn’t want quitting being cute and all. The Pichu was just sitting there, waiting for the Axew to reappear. Soon, Johanna had to release her tiring hold and the shield shattered and vanished, leaving her exposed to Pika’s horribly softening mimics. Johanna couldn’t help but let out a terribly betraying “D’aaaaaww… so cute…”, and her own eyes became all watery out of cutenessoïa.

His job done, Pika focused on his next move. He began thinking about really disturbing and horrible thoughts, adding a good deal of dark energy to the mix. Soon, his mind was sharpened and ready to deliver pain, but all of those unhealthy schemes were hidden behind his adorable face, and Johanna knew nothing of it. Instead, she listened carefully to her trainer, who insisted she had to hit the Pichu with a draconic slash. But how could she hurt that oh-so huggable plushie? Reluctantly, she accepted the fate and disdainfully approached Pika before lashing him with a very light swipe, and shivered out of shame, running back to her side of the field in tears.

Round XI Start

Johanna stared at her trainer in astonishment. How could someone even think about jeering at such a cute little creature?! This short yellow fur, these little pink cheeks, those huge watery eyes! How could anybody resist to such a concentrated formula of sheer cuteness? But Zapi was coldly staring at her, and it was evident that he was far from affected by Pika’s unresistableness.

The Pichu meanwhile, began generating a small amount of energy within his cheeks. Johanna quickly noticed the sparkles and grew quite worried it could be bad news. For a moment, she stopped thinking about his cute looks and yelled a bunch of unnameable insults at the fuzzy rodent. The Pichu immediately stopped building up energy and stared coldly at his dragon-type nemesis, blinded in a red-eyed rage. Completely ignoring his previous orders, he jumped to Johanna and started lashing her quite recklessly and violently, however it was far more impressive than damaging. Johanna finally found a way out of this cockfight, and gazed, horrified, at the mad mouse. Definitely, he wasn’t as cute, now.

She had to find a way to defend herself against that fuzzy monster, and what is a better defence than attack? (Clever link here) The Axew closed her eyes and focused, then started dancing, or what we could call dancing; the violent and erratic movements were far from graceful. Johanna, though, didn’t give a damn about it and was feeling sharper and stronger after she had performed it. She puffed her torso in pride…

…Only to be slammed against by a Pichu who was once again ignoring his usual commands. Pika kept on trashing, delivering series of heavy punches, kicks and lashes, more often than not hurting himself in the process. The outrage kept on going for several seconds before Johanna roared in anger, pushing him backwards. Pika didn't stop his barrage of attacks there, though, and as he was far enough from Johanna, he launched a terrifying amount of electricity at the red-eyed dragon. The shock was so intense, the Axew found herself thrown backwards. She took a few moments to get up - a bit surprised, but fine. Annoyed by the cocky rodent, she lunged forward and lashed him with her mandibles sending him rolling, curled up in a ball.

Notes:

- Since Pichu and Axew’s speed stats are very close to each other, I gave Johanna a 1/3 chance of outpacing Pika, and she did on actions one and two.
- Pokémon with no options of attack (without being specifically ordered to do nothing) will use Struggle by default.
- Charm wore off over the round because Struggle is not a charming attack to use.
- Thunderbolt was a critical hit.
- Taunt also wore off at the end of the round.
