Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Pathos vs. Ampharos

That's what I thought, but just confirming. Chill thrice then Caber. You should finish ahead of him then, as you're already in the lead points wise (especially after the impeding Double-Team) and you'll recover more energy than he will. We won't win the battle, I think, but you'll get your two EXP points.

Chill x3

Good game Pathos/Moo

3vs3 single
Style: Set
DQ: Standard week
Damage Cap: 50%
Banned Moves: OHKO's
Arena: Outside the Battle Arena

The battle takes place right outside the Battle Frontier's Battle Arena facility, out in the open air. The immediate area is covered in nicely manicured grass and a few flowers. The Arena building itself is surrounded on three sides by water and a small pond sits on the other side of the battlers, so water moves can be used and Water-types that need to swim can do so. The battlers cannot move away from the immediate area, so heading towards the plaza or another facility is forbidden. Maps of the general area can be found on this page.

Since this match is happening so close to the Arena, it seems such a shame not to follow Greta's rules... or, at least, a variation on them. As such, both battlers will send out their Pokémon and attack for three battle rounds (a total of 9 attacks per Pokémon) before the ref calls a halt. After the three rounds both Pokémon are recalled and unable to continue in the current battle, and their current health, energy and status are noted for later. Both trainers will then send out their next Pokémon and continue for the next three rounds. At the end (which should be nine total rounds), the health and energy of all Pokémon is totaled and whichever trainer has the highest score wins.

The following rules also apply:

-If a Pokémon has fainted, either due to HP loss OR energy loss, the battle stops right where it is (even if it has not yet been three rounds) and both Pokémon are recalled. Fainted Pokémon DO still count toward the final score, but as either their health or their energy is at 0% they won't add anywhere near as much.

-If, at the end of the three rounds, a battler is afflicted with a status condition, that condition detracts from their final score as follows:

Paralyzed, Burned, Confused: -10 points
Poisoned, Attracted: -15 points
Asleep, Frozen: -20 points
If the Pokémon has more than one status condition, only the first one they were afflicted with detracts full points; all others afterwards only detract five, no matter what they are.

As an example of how scoring works: Trainer A sends out a Treecko and Trainer B sends out a Turtwig. Treecko and Turtwig battle for three rounds; Treecko finishes with 64% HP and 72% energy and Turtwig finishes with 71% HP and 59% energy. Treecko has also been poisoned by Toxic. Both Pokémon stop battling and so their scores would look like this: Turtwig (71H + 59E = 130), Treecko (64H + 72E - 15 [poison] = 121). Therefore, Trainer B (Turtwig's trainer) would have the lead with 130 points over 121.

As far as TCoDASB battles are concerned, experience is determined like this: all Pokémon get the usual 1 experience point for being sent into battle, and if one Pokémon actually knocks another out it will get the 1 experience point as normal. If neither Pokémon faints at the end of three rounds, the one with the lower score (Treecko in the above example) is considered knocked out for the purposes of experience, so Turtwig would get the extra 1 exp.

Other: Only first stage/baby pokemon may be used (no non-evolving pokemon).

Caber was neutral about his new strategy. It didn't involve beating up Mal in any way, which was completely horrible! He needed to pay for what he did to him, because that electric type was a cheater and just a jerk. The fact that his trainer was letting him go by unpunished was infuriating! And yet... he was getting pretty tired; if he tried to move he might just freeze up again. Those things always seemed to happen to him... he curled up as instructed, clutching his log like a pillow and falling asleep. Snoring slightly, he began to dream about beating up the elekid. In his dreams, he was the winner...

On the outside, the current "winner" was preparing for an attack that wouldn't come. Mal was speeding around the arena with an extreme agility (at least compared to his opponent), leaving trails of illusionary clones behind him. When he finished, significantly more worn out than before, he looked at the mirror images of himself and smiled. Let's see him attack me with these! He thought triumphantly. A quick glance to his foe revealed that it didn't seem like that would be happening; despite his wasted effort Mal continued to be smug.

In fact, when Caber got up Mal took it as a challenge. He began to prepare a possible counter; was he actually going to attack physically after what occurred last round? It seemed that it wouldn't, as all the little fighting type was doing was shaking restlessly. He couldn't move, he was itchy and needed to scratch his back! Why couldn't he move? His attempt at rest was completely foiled by a horrible, terrible itching sensation. Sitting there irritatedly, Caber became even more riled up when Mal decided to taunt him with a peaceful rest that only seemed to highlight his pain. He even made an exaggerated motion of scratching himself!

Finally, after horrendous minutes of agony wherein he could not move but had to do something, the timburr was able to take control of his body enough to scratch. Raking his fingers against the aggrieved spot (it was swollen and pink; normally there for timburr but abnormally inflated due to injury), he eventually was able to doze off once more. His dreams became less related to the battle at hand after this, though it was vaguely related to becoming a strong conkeldurr and carrying strong iron beams with which to pummel weak little electric types. Even though he had gotten rid of most of his grievances, it seemed that he would have an immature perception of electricity for quite a long time.

And so the two battlers slept, the rest of the round spent with little concern for action. Eventually time was called, and the ref walked up to both pokemon carefully. After prodding them awake (they had recieved a not-very-friendly shock from Mal due to this), the cureent referee totaled the score. Despite Caber's many statuses, it seemed that he had emerged as the victor by no less than one point! Angry, Mal turned his back on said recorder and Caber gave his foe a weak, crippled punch. Even considering the power included, the intention was clear and both trainers had to recall their pokemon before another unauthorized round took place. Afterwards, Mai announced that Pathos was actually the one with the glory; something that Mal would had wanted to hear very much.

Notes:

So, so late. :(

Calculations:

Chill- worked= 0% damage, 10% energy (to Caber), no accuracy/critical roll (cannot miss; does no damage) and paralysis roll 44 (needed 18 or under to activate).

Double team- worked= 0% damage, 9% energy and no accuracy/crit roll.

Chill- failed= 0% damage, 0% energy and no accuracy/crit roll. Paralysis roll was 8, needed 18 or under to activate.

Chill- worked= 0% damage, 10% energy (to Mal), and no accuracy/crit roll.

Chill- worked= 0% damage, 10% energy (to Caber), and no accuracy/crit roll. Paralyis roll was 76, needed 18 or under to activate.

So! The prizes!

Caber the timburr gets two experience points and Mal the elekid gets one. Cheryl the bulbasaur gets two experience points and Sivasac the wailmer gets two. Edyta the tentacool gets two experience points and Anatina the psyduck gets one.

If I'm not mistaken, Pathos gets $24 and Denryu gets $9. I recieve $8 and so does zeKieranator.

Despite my consistent lateness, this battle was fun to write! Overall a hopeful start. Now to find another battle to neglect e-ref! For some reason picking up a battle of my own seems intimidating...

(Plus, e-reffing yields much more money!)
