blazheirio889 vs. Grass King

Okay, either way you'll be using the same attack three times. Swift if its a Fire or Water type. If its a Grass, Ice, Dark or Electric type, then use Fire Punch. Finally if its a Psychic, Ghost or Rock type or it doesn't change types, then use Faint Attack.

Swift/Fire Punch/Faint Attack x3

Solarbeam followed by Flamethrower. If you don't think there's enough light or whatever to use Solarbeam at full power, though, use Energy Ball instead.

If Espionage is fire, grass, psychic, or ghost, though, use two Shadow Balls.

Either way, end the round with Trick Room.

Arena: Evolution Stone Cave

Our battle today takes place in the most sparkly, shiny, impossible place ever; the Evolution Stone Cave. The cave is pretty big, with enough space to comfortably fit a Wailord, and with a ring of deep water surrounding the arena. No Wailords are allowed, however. The thing that gets everyone about here though, is the millions and billions of bits of shiny evolution stones embedded in the ground, ceiling and walls. Though these bits are pretty small, if you took a piece out it wouldn't count as an evolution stone so don't try that. Also scattered around the cave are gems, all shining and glittering in some unknown source of light.

The pure power of the evolution stones is pretty concentrated here. Every round, the Pokemon have a 95% chance of changing types; from whatever type they are to either Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Rock, Dark, Ice, Psychic or Ghost. All abilities of the Pokemon remain the same, ghosts can still phase or turn invisible, flying types can still fly. All effects dispel after the end of the round.

Pre-Round

As the red beam disappears, engulfed in the mechanical dragon’s wide open beak, a second one zaps out of her eyes, concentrating to finally form a small candle-like Pokémon. The Litwick blinks and looks around, trying to spot her opponent. Although it is near impossible to detect, a vivid red zigzagged line reveals the position of Espionage, who sighs in anger and reluctantly takes back her original color.

Round VIII Start

Unsurprisingly, the walls blazed again like gigantesque torches (no more synonyms durrr), enveloping the battlers in swirls of photons. Their skin shimmered and flickered and finally changed colour and texture again, to the surprise of at least one of the Pokémon. Chir Batti’s waxy white coating suddenly turned deep black, and her eyes began to glow the same way as her flame. Meanwhile, Espionage’s scaly epidermis seemed to liquefy as it took on a light blue shade.

Espionage, much more used to skin changing than her opponent, didn’t wait a second before immediately charging. Her clenched fist burst out in fire as she ran to the Litwick, and she jumped up to finally punch the candle Pokémon from above – at least, an attempt to do so. As soon as the fire from the Kecleon’s hand made contact with Chit Batti, her own flame instantly doubled in size and irradiated an intense heat, which inevitably drove the reptile away - she scurried off to escape the living inferno, her eyes twitching in all directions. Chir Batti used this perfect opportunity to charge a crackling ball of green energy, and as Espionage turned back to her, she fired it off like a bullet. It flew straight to her chest and exploded in sparks, and as she cried in pain, the green energy engulfed her entire body from the impact point, covering her skin in a grassy overcoat.

The Kecleon (albeit very dizzily) on her feet and once more rushed forward, her clenched fist flaring, and delivered yet another powerful punch directly in the Litwick’s face. Even she had used all her possible might, her hand stuck in Chir Batti’s waxy body like it was… well, actual wax, while the flames disappeared inoffensively, as is they were absorbed by their target. Espionage, raging, withdrew her fist before burning herself on the searing candle. Chir Batti, laughing evilly, took a deep breath and released a stream of purple flames, and they washed over the Kecleon’s vegetal-like body, leaving black and smoking marks all over it. Once more, she adapted herself to the new condition almost instinctively, and as the smoke vanished in ink-dark mists, a blazing orange replaced the limey colour of her scales.

Espionage, noting Fire Punch was actually a quite mediocre attack to use against a Litwick, decided she had had enough of it. Instead, she braced herself for the incoming attack, raising her arms in a fighting stance, and looking straight into Chir Batti’s gaze with both her eyes. The Litwick, meanwhile, was paying zero attention to her foe’s awkward stare and instead close her eyes and used her modest powers over the spirit world to call upon Dialga’s powers. She recited a very low and sorrowful incantation in an ancient language, and as she did time itself slowed down, slower and slower until it was so slow it actually went backwards. Satisfied, Chir Batti looked at the others with amusement as they stared in awe at their hands like they were all really high.

Did you take into account the Flash Fire boost when calculating Flamethrower's damage?

Edit: Wait no nevermind, Flash Fire doesn't work the same in ASB. Only +10 base power what D:

Okay so I may have forgotten about Flash Fire (or did I? Mwahaha). But fear not Espionage. Now if she turns into a Rock, Dark or Ice type, then hit her with a Drain Punch. If she is anything else, ero, Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Psychic, Ghost or Ghost/Fire type, then use Foul PLay. Finally, if she Protects, then use Hone Claws.

Acid Armour before Espionage can strike. Then, if she's Water, Rock, or Dark type, throw another Energy Ball followed by Flamethrower at her. If she's Grass or Ice, Flamethrower, then wait until she attacks and give me a 20% Substitute. Finally, if she's Fire, Electric, Psychic, or Ghost, go ahead and lob two Shadow Balls at her.

Round IX Begin

The cave did its job again, and soon Chir Batti had taken on an entirely different form – the flame atop her head was now blueish-white and seemingly absorbing thermal energy around it rather than irradiating it. Espionage, though, stayed as flamey as before – her scales were still orange and searing.

With the bizarre time-twisting effects going on, the Litwick’s wax hardened in a split second, now considerably thicker as an acid of some sort seeped over it to fill its pores. Espionage, meanwhile, was struggling to move forward – she had the feeling she was swimming through mud so such the Trick Room was slowing her movements, finally, though, she reached Chir Batti and was able to deliver a swift punch in her chest, cracking the hardened wax and sucking some of her life energy along the way.

Now confident her shiny new wax armor would be able to live through Espionage’s offensive, Chir Batti began to summon the shadows of the cave, and they began to gather in wisps before the Ghost-type to form a shimmering ball, and once it got big enough, (read: she thought she couldn’t hold for much longer) Chir Batti hurled it at the Kecleon, who was actually still trying to overcome the sickening pressure of the field effect. The ghostly projectile struck her on the shoulder and slowed down her already difficult progress, and as the ominous energy seeped in her skin, her scales took on a purple color, and her whole body seemed to fade out of existence – except the red zigzag, of course. Still, Espionage kept on and punched the Litwick directly in the face for a second time, draining her of another bit of health.

Clearly, that Kecleon was annoying – not only she had the guts to hit Chir Batti in the face repeatedly, but she was also fooling around copying her wonderful and exclusive ghost-type! Insulted, the ghost-type (the real one) gathered yet another ball of shadows, and angrily shot it forward. Once more, it seemed to burn in Espionage’s skin rather than striking it like a bowling ball would’ve done, and the reptile screamed in pain as her newly ghostly scales were seared by the dark energy. She didn’t wait for her foe to enjoy her victory long, though: she didn’t hesitate a second and counter attacked with yet another Drain Punch that plowed through Chir Batti glaciated wax and, once more stole a bunch of life energy from the Litwick tiny soul.

Shouldn't Chir Batti have +2 Defense in her status?

Anyway, grah Drain Punch. How about we make a nice, big 20% Substitute before Espionage can get us. If she tries to Snatch it, though, breathe a nice Fire Blast at her as a reward. If she is Fire, Water, Rock, Psychic, or Ghost, though, give her another Shadow Ball.
Next, take some time to Chill behind the safety of your sub. Flamethrower if Espionage tries to Snatch again, if she is Fire, Water, Rock, Psychic, or Ghost, though, greet her with a Shadow Ball.
Last action, it's time to do some damage. Fire Blast by default, Energy Ball if she's Fire, Water, or Rock, wait and Payback if she's Psychic or Ghost.

Substitute (20%)/Fire Blast/Shadow Ball ~ Chill/Flamethrower/Shadow Ball ~ Fire Blast/Energy Ball/Payback

Okay if Chir Batti is Ghost-type or doesn't change type, then start off with Shadow Claw, then use Role Play and finish with another Shadow Claw.

Otherwise, start off with a Fake Out to stop that sub, then Role Play to get immunity to her fire-attacks, unless she is Dark-typed, in which case Focus Punch. If you're Psychic or Ghost type, finish off with Thunder Wave. Otherwise finish with Drain Punch.

Round X Begin

The cave further signaled its presence, and again the battler’s forms changed. Chir Batti’s flame became in a matter of seconds a crackling bunch of sparks, and Espionage ethereal skin took on its grassy appearance again, much to the Kecleon’s despise. It was clearly not a tactical advantage to turn vegetable in front of a (albeit sporadically) fire-type.

Nevertheless, she rushed head first into the battle again, speeding forward Chir Batti like a living rocket and lightly slapping her on the nose. Not even the time distortion could affect her light-fast movements, and the startled Litwick completely lost her concentration upon the hit and the fireball she was forming between her stubby arms faded into nothingness. Soon after realizing what exactly had happened, Chir Batti frowned in a childish anger, trying to fold her arms then failing then just flailing around whining before finally sitting in a corner, her waxy back facing the confused Espionage. While she seemed to be doing an astonishing amount of nothing alone in her corner, the Litwick was actually meditating, slowly recovering some energy for further use, the electricity atop her head shining a serene cream white. The Kecleon, meanwhile, was trying her best to copy her foe’s movements, the way she absorbed the flames around her to use them as fueling energy. Altering the composition of her scales, she mimicked the very essence of Chir Batti’s ability for her own use.

Having restored enough energy, the Litwick turned back to face her foe, a detonating mixture of flammable gazes already starting to gather in her flame pouch. She took a huge breath (nearly impossible for a thing with such small lungs has she had) and blew an enormous fireball which spread open to revel the Japanese symbol for “fire”. The blazing projectile flew towards Espionage, spinning, and she made no movement to avoid it. It struck her like a cannonball, and exploded in embers. The Kecleon’s scales shone orange and in an instant, the Fire Blast was absorbed completely by Espionage, the very power of the attack now seemingly burning in the Pokémon’s eyes.

Chir Batti tiny eyes widened in fear, and before she could stomach what had happened, she was hit forcefully by Kecleon’s shining fist. As the time flow seemed to revert to normal, globes of life energy seeped out of Chir Batti’s mouth and into Espionage, and the blazing reptile grinned widely, filled with heart-racing satisfaction.

Of course, Flash Fire. OTL Seems to be more trouble than it's worth. That's it, when I'm evolving you, you're going to have Flame Body, you stupid candle.

Anyway, thicken up your defenses with another Acid Armour. If Espionage tries to Snatch it, or is preparing a Focus Punch and you are not resistant or immune to it, drive a Shadow Ball into her face instead, or, uh, Energy Ball if she's Dark, Rock, or Grass.

Then, just Chill twice. If Espionage tries to Focus Punch and you are not resistant or immune to it, throw more Shadow Balls at her. Again, Energy Ball if she's Dark, Rock, or Grass.

Also, if you can't use your primary offensive option for whatever reason, just default to the other.

Acid Armour/Shadow Ball/Energy Ball ~ Chill/Shadow Ball/Energy Ball x2

psst LoTF could you keep a chill/direct healer counter somewhere?

Okay Thunder Wave first. Then Hone Claws and finish up with a Flash. However if she is immune to Flash though, use use Double Team, and about 5 clones should do it.

Round XI Begin

Aaaaaaand guess what the cave did its job again. The walls bloomed to life as the gems shone in ALL THE COLORS, and the battlers were engulfed in light and- wait oh no wait check that out. Espionage had apparently been spared by the mineral magic, and had kept her grassy overcoat. Now that was perturbing. For Chir Batti, though, everything went as normal; she changed type all of a sudden and blah blah blah, flame getting icy and light blue and blah. The referee was getting quite annoyed at the lack of ways to describe the events, and as he scribbled them down on his reffing notepad (yes that is actually what referees do) the notes began to get quite random due to the general annoyance / laziness of their author. Oh well.

But now that tiring part was done and the real things could begin. Espionage didn’t lose a second, she started to form a small yellow sphere within her hands, grabbing the energy from the “general energy sack” all normal-types seem to have. The Kecleon then jumped up and threw the sphere to the ground in a touchdown fashion, and it exploded on contact. The burst created a small discharge and a wide shockwave filled with electric currents, and it swept the room, engulfing Chir Batti all the while. The candle Pokémon, while feeling a bit stiffer and somewhat dizzy, was still a candle after. And paralyzed or not, candles tend not to give much of a damn when paralysis strikes them. So a damn Chir Batti did not give, focusing on the density of her armor, again filling ALL THE PORES with a strange acidic mix that solidified when it entered in contact with the cool air.

And then for a moment both battlers began to be completely oblivious to the presence of their adversary, each of them sitting in their corner and doing their own things. Espionage started to hone her claws meticulously, sharpening the edges carefully until they shone under the rainbow light of the gemstones. Chir Batti had other plans, namely taking a nap. She closed her eyes and took it real cool, just laying there, surrounded by a white halo and restoring her lost energy.

After a while, when she considered her claws honed enough, Espionage stood up and glared at the Litwick. Unfortunately, the latter was still in state of deep meditation and was totally unaware of it – which, sadly, Espionage didn’t notice. Instead, she pumped her torso with might and began to glow like a living lantern – I swear, it would’ve made the stars in your eyes pee in jealousy. The Kecleon was so bright both the trainers and the battlers saw a vague, bright Kecleon form blocking their eyesight for the two weeks following the events. However, Chir Batti, eyes still tightly shut, didn’t see it. At all.

When the Litwick finally opened her eyes and looked curiously around, what she observed was pretty bizarre if you asked me. An angry chameleonic vegetable staring at you while your trainer madly rubs her eyes screaming “GO AWAY ANNOYING KECLEON” is a quite disturbing view.

Espionage saw her skin grow rocky and edgy again, while Chir Batti’s malevolent aura faded, and the candle-like Pokémon’s presence felt more serene, like her mind alone could stop air itself from fluctuating. Her flame became pinkish and hypnotizing to look, and for a moment the Kecleon found herself to be somewhat dazed by it, but only for a short while – she quickly shook her head and concentrated on the battle that was apparently going on.

Espionage sought briefly for shadows to gather around her, but she soon enough realized she was actually in a cave and shadows weren’t missing at all. She raised her hands before her eyes and swift strings of sheer darkness streamed out of the far corners of the room to form a bubbling ball of agitated energy, which grew in size at an alarming pace. Finally satisfied, Espionage threw her arms above her head, still firmly holding the projectile in her small clawed hands, the hurled them forward. The black sphere flew lazily toward the Litwick and crashed down on her with a sickening “splurt”. The ghostly force hissed as it seared the waxy skin, but unfortunately for the Kecleon, Chir Batti was lucky enough to avoid any permanent burns.

As the last wisps of smoke faded around her, she was revealed to be completely motionless. Her eyes were tightly shut, and she seemed absorbed in some kind of intense state of meditation, completely oblivious to the world around her – the only slight movements perceptible around her were the translucent waves of pinkish light flying up in thin streams atop her flame. Espionage utterly ignored her foe’s weird tactic and rashly summoned a second shadowy blob. Soon enough, it was getting wild between her hands, and she shot it forward before it could explode in her face. It raced through the cavern and slammed into the Litwick relatively violently, washing over her like an energy-absorbing fireball.

All of a sudden, Chir Batti woke up, her eyes shining with an alarming purple, and in a deep, guttural voice, she called upon the deity Dialga. While everybody else failed to detect anything, the Litwick clearly felt the time flow around her shift and distort, and soon enough Espionage’s fast-paced movements were reduced to those of a paraplegic turtle, while Chir Batti was hoping around so fast she became a blur.

Before Espionage could ever blink, the psychic-type had raised a pinkish aura around her once more, sharpening her mind and raising her mental defenses. The reptile, meanwhile, had finally moved and before the Litwick could say “oh hello my name is Chir Batti” she ate a third Shadow Ball in the face.
