Squornshellous Beta vs. Skyman

Bug Buzz as long as he's still floating, Dig as soon as he's not, Chill if you can't do either for some reason.

Bug Buzz / Dig / Chill *3

Ok, we can do this if we use some strategy.

Light Screen first to make sure you don't faint. Then, use Wish and end with a Chill.

A fairly simple arena for the most part. A several-acre field with grass roughly half an inch long all over, and a lake in the centre full of sparklingly clear water that cannot be muddied or obscured, no matter what happens to it. The lake is big enough to comfortably house a Gyarados. There is a mysterious substance diffused throughout the air, water and ground that deals 3% damage per action; this damage cannot be negated or reduced in any way.

Round IX Begin

Roxas the Pichu scratched his bleeding ear. The buzz was still echoing inside his head, sickening him to the point he nearly threw up. Still floating a few feet above the ground, he closed his eyes. He couldn’t let it happen anymore. Concentrating hard, he raised his stubby arms in the air. The latter began to shimmer in front of him, and a screen of pinkish energy fizzled in mid-air and appeared - like a shield of glass, the Light Screen was barely noticeable for the human eye. Smirking, the Pichu raised his gaze to the skies, once more pleading Jirachi for help.

Psal couldn’t see the shield with his eyes alone, but his could feel the energy radiating from it with his antennas. And he didn’t like what he was… feeling. He didn’t know exactly what it was supposed to do, but electric mice don’t create bizarre telekinetically protective screens just for fun, do they? Nevertheless, it wouldn’t stop him from buzzing the hell out of Roxas’ pants until his brain exploded, period. Once more, he started flapping his wings in the most irritating manner. The low whirr quickly became a steady shriek, shaking the air itself and causing severe headaches to the Asbers watching the battle, except for Squornshellous Beta who seemed to be wearing those strange furry headphones I cannot remember the name of at the moment.

Roxas was finishing his priest when the earsplitting Bug Buzz shattered his sensitive tympanums, not the least dampened by the Light Screen. The initial screech had slipped through completely, and he regretted at first – but then, it faded a bit, reduced by the powers of the protective energy, and Roxas calmed down. Still, the buzz kept on invading his head and disturbing his thoughts, but the sound seemed less… aggressive. He tried to ignore it, and curled up into a ball and concentrated on relaxing his mind and body. The white aura enveloped him once more, and eyelids dropped.

Psal suddenly stopped flapping. First of all, he was tired, and second of all, that annoying sunray was back and seemed to give his blessing to the Pichu again. He grumbled for a while, wondering why no god was helping him at all - he was clearly winning this and he deserved their blessing a lot more and he was the most awesomest and he had the coolest claws and-

Bug Buzz – 5% damage, 5% energy
Chill – restored 10% energy
Bug Buzz – 7% damage, 5% energy

Notes:

- The first Bug Buzz was a critical hit, and the second one lowered Roxas’ special defense.

Arena Notes:

- The ground has been torn up, and a large ragged tunnel is situated roughly in the middle of the field. A large swathe of grass between Jess and the water is damp.
- There is a large crater where Frittata used Explosion.
- Below the crater, there is a vast network of small tunnels, some connected to each other.

Round X Begin

Roxas gave a quick look at his foe: the insect was still motionless and dumbly staring at him, as if waiting for him to make a move to resume his infernal screeching. Psal’s compounded eyes were locked on him, and he was twitching impatiently. In the end, the Pichu resigned and closed his eyes and calmed down, using up some hidden reserves of energy as a white veil of light surrounded him. The Nincada did not let him relax for long, though, and within a second he had began send deafening sound waves at the electric mouse, sound waves that the Light Screen made if not enjoyable, at least tolerable.

After the brief chill, Roxas’ eyes widened. The constant buzz in his ears seemed to fill him with bug energy, more than his tiny body could support. His head was booming with thoughts of swarms of ants and bees, of the low rumbling sound of millions of exoskeletons cracking at they trampled over everything. His entire body was glowing a yellowish green by then, and his eyes dazzling with pink and blue flashes. His brain was boiling, his ears were twitching, and soon the power accumulated was released in a kaleidoscopic stream of light. Psal flinched briefly, surprised by the power of the attack usually used by his kind, but nonetheless kept up buzzing like it was nobody else’s business. Roxas, overcame by his rage, fired off a second Signal Beam, which struck Psal with an explosion of green sparks. The Nincada retaliated with yet another tympanum-breaking Bug Buzz. That last attack was enough to finally break the Light Screen, which cracked and crumbled apart in mid-air. Exhausted, the Pichu finally had to land, barely standing.

Round XI Begin

The vulnerable Roxas caught only a glimpse of his opponent before the Nincada buried himself in a split second, making his way through the earth like it was jell-o. Aware an attempt at following him would be obsolete, the Pichu instead decided to simply restore his decreasing energy, and the antediluvian technique of chilling covered him with the infamous veil of white energy.

And then, boom, Psal popped out of his hide to crash into him, accompanied with a bunch of rocks and a shower of soil, only to dive down into earth again. At that point, the creamy halo surrounding Roxas turned in a violent crimson aura as he clenched his fist and braced himself for the hit that was to come. As he predicted, the Nincada resurfaced again, and for the last time. After the swift blow he delivered, the insect attempted another escape, but this time the Pichu grabbed him by the hind legs and started to swing him in all directions, occasionally smashing him on the ground. Several “cracks” were heard as Psal’s exoskeleton endured the shocks, and it took several minutes for Roxas to finally decide to let him go. Well, “go” is kind of overrated, as he stayed in place, his body awkwardly contortioned and with swirly eyes.

Pre-Round

As Psal was recalled and engulfed in a buzzing halo of red light, her trainer pondered over her next choice. In the end, though, her decision was clear: the quicker she would take the Pichu down, the quicker she could move to something else. With that in mind, she lazily threw her next Poké Ball in the middle of the field, and the device burst open.

A very strange Pokémon appeared, bathed in light. It looked like a robot made of claw and kept together by strapped together by metal, however, its dusty body and his armor encrypted with seemingly ancient and unknown letters meant he had been made long ago. To its almost perfectly round body were attached as equally stubby arms and legs, altogether covered with rocky pieces of armor, and as the creature blinked, accommodating itself to the ambient light, it began to move them slowly, and they cracked under the movement. Some kind of seal was keeping the iron straps from collapsing, and wisps of smoke were escaping from under it.

The Golett then turned its emotionless gaze to his foe, and the referee signaled the round open.

Golem barely had the time to raise its arms that Roxas had begun a frenetic dance, covering himself with sharp, blood-red petals that came from Arceus-knows-where. The Pichu was spiraling around, picking up speed as well as flowery weapons along the way. Soon, he was a living tornado of red and orange, and crashed into the Golett before it had the chance to realize what was going on. The artifact was sent rolling away in the dust, its ocular orifices slightly widened in moderate surprise.

When it finally stopped and took the time to stand up and look at its deathly spring-smelling opponent, all it saw was an inanimate, yellow body covered with petals. The ghost-type noticed it was the victor when the red beam engulfed it.
