bulbasaur vs. Byrus (ref: Squornshellous Beta)

Lithium: 45% - 10% - 6% - 6% = 23% and apparently I can't successfully subtract 2. ><

Fixed, and fixed attack boost.

Paralysis is a quarter-speed.

Toxic 'till it hits, then Blizzard. If she sets up a substitute, Blizzard, then Water gun if it still remains. If she Protects or is high in the air, Chill if it's on the first action and Water gun if it's not. If Geier has clones, aim Water Gun on all of them.

Oh, one last thing; I don't think you added the boost from Geier's blackglasses.

Well, bad luck with zap cannon there. Facade until he faints, try a snarl if you're too paralyzed to move.

Round 23 Begin!

Knowing that the next attack will be critical, Geier is determined to attack in the strongest way she can. She leaps into the air, fluttering frantically to propel herself forward on her stubby wings. She tumbles haphazardly through the air, a bizarre motion halfway between flying and falling, hindered significantly by the paralysis that forces her muscles to contract when she least wants them to. She manages to get over to Lithium, hitting the ground only twice, and flies up as high as she can without expending too much energy; her muscles lock up suddenly, her wings stop flapping, and she hurtles to the ground, the bone she wears smashing into Lithium's head.

When she drags herself off him, he seems to be unconscious. bulbasaur recalls him, quickly picking another Pokéball to replace him.

Round 24 Begin!

The white flash of light from bulbasaur's Pokéball forms into a Pachirisu, which immediately begins to run round in circles, chasing its own tail. After a few minutes, it does settle down, turning to face its opponent and ignoring the slightly irritated gaze of the referee.

Suddenly, she charges towards Geier, her body converting to a sort of semisolid electricity as she goes. Hurling herself into Geier's protesting form, she leaps straight through the Vullaby and lands on the ground on the other side. As Geier screeches indignantly, the golden-yellow energy that Oxygen has converted into turns bright red; she suddenly loses what solidity she had, converting to a beam of red energy that beams straight back to the Pokéball on bulbasaur's belt. Another Pokéball opens and, in a flash of white light, a Vulpix forms; Geier suddenly picks herself up, hurtling inexpertly through the air, and slices into Bromine's side with her beak. Bromine whimpers and spins around to look for the source of the attack, and sees only a quickly-vanishing blob of red energy; Geier too has recalled herself to her Pokéball, a Koffing suddenly emerging onto the field in replacement.

Extrasensory all the way :3 If Mollser Torments you, switch the second action for a Zen Headbutt. If he tries to Poison you with Poison Gas or Toxic, or if he tries to Paralyze you with Zap Cannon, set up a Substitute (10). If he has Double-Team clones, Faint Attack, unless it's the second action, in which case, Substitute (10).

Round 24 Begin!

Bromine moves quickly, determined to get the first attack. Tapping into her (admittedly limited) mental energy, her eyes take on a pale pink glow as she lets her mind expand outwards, searching for her opponent's. Finding it, she begins to look around, locating weaknesses and vulnerabilities; a sudden rush of psychic energy to the brain causes Mollser to let out a loud cry, wincing and puffing up in instinctive defense. As Bromine withdraws from his mind, he hurriedly attaches a small portion of his own energy, in a carefully-chosen way; Bromine fails to notice, but Mollser grins, knowing things are going to get harder for her.

Apparently not cripplingly so, though, because she immediately repeats the technique. Breaking into Mollser's mind again, she notices that it's more difficult; it seems to be taking a lot more out of her this time. Still, it's not too hard, and she quickly batters away at the weakest parts of his mind; once again, as she withdraws, he sticks on a bit of his own energy, hoping this time it'll deter her.

Apparently it's not to be, though, as she goes in for yet another strike. This time, though, Mollser doesn't simply attach some energy of his own but breaks into Bromine's own mind, causing her to let out a gasp. His eyes turn deep purple as he works, battering his way into the area of her mind that deals with her life-energy; with a horrible, stinging pain, Bromine feels some of her very life-force being torn away. Mollser, on the other hand, is quite happy with the energy he just stole; it certainly helps go a way towards healing him from those Extrasensories.

Could you add in the notes or status that extrasensory is spited? Since I'm liable to forget...

Chill for a bit. Spite any flamethrowers, heat waves, fire blasts and zen headbutts. Shock wave away any clones. Close your eyes and try and ignore her if she tries confuse ray or hypnosis. Go back to chilling if she's disabled/imprisoned either of your moves or tries to spite one of your moves in return. Also chill if she tries to use magic coat on your spite.

-----

Mostly external circumstances led Squornshellous Beta, in spite of any preparations, to drop reffing the ten-man (more like ten-creature) showdown. You'd expect very few referees to be willing to pick up a battle that long; however, Metallica Fanboy dropped in with a few papers from the Emergency Referee Outpost on a rather short notice. After asking a few questions and writing a few things down, he let the battle recommence.

At first, the two battlers did little more than stare each other down, waiting on a move. At one point, however, Mollser, sensing no intention of attacking from his foe, closed his eyes and just hung around midair, relaxing.

Suddenly, however, his eyelids threw wide open. He felt a strange rush flow through his mind, as though he couldn't possibly bring himself to go loose again. And that was exactly what happened, as his opponent had just disabled the very idea somehow.

While the Koffing shuffled around in confusion, failing to understand what was going on, Bromine seized the opportunity to attack, taking a deep breath, then leaping for aim and spitting up a neat, almost elegant string of flame. That attack's target flinched with the unexpected hit, and managed to float away just before something exploded inside of him.

Not quite appreaciating the idea of bursting without actually trying such, the mine Pokémon awakened Ghost-type energies, his eyes and skull mark glowing purple as he built a mental barrier out of pure anger. That will teach this silly fox something about setting fellows on fire like that.

And for a second time, the Vulpix activated her psychic powers, invading the opponent's head (which is kind of the only thing said opponent has) and detecting a recently stimulated area as that which was responsible for the Spite attack just earlier. Upon making such a find, the next step was to bar the flow of information from there. Yet another attack was Disabled.

Really disliking all this mind hacking, which so reminds him of those painful Psychic-type moves, the Poison-type tried to loosen up and restore some of his energy; however, as before, he found himself completely incapable of doing so for whatever reason. His reaction to this was about as fowl as the gases he constantly emitted.

Thanks MF. You're using Negrek's new damage and energy guide right? Also, hope your word count is building up fast enough.

I'm guessing that by "talking" you aren't referring to a friendly greeting. 'Cause encasing yourself in a sound proof capsule when someone wants to say hello is rude. So, torment twice to make her protect. Finish by mimicking disable.

It took a brief while for the referee exchange to sink in. Nonetheless, when it did, the battle proceeded ownards as per normal.

With the beggining of round signal, Mollser brought up his foe's attitude last round. Reflexively, she put up a forcefield shield around herself, blocking off the sound of the Koffing's voice. Whew! She should definitely get commands like these every single time.

By the time she dropped the shield, however, there was still ongoing speech. To the cue of "yeah just ignore the shit out of what I'm trying to tell you", she put it back up, with a little extra effort, as Protect is notoriously hard to keep up for extended periods of time. Bromine would rather have that hardship than deal with the ranting, however. It was even amusing to watch the angry expressions dance soundlessly.

After letting the barriers fall again -- this time making sure there was a significant interval of closed mouth beforehand -- the Vulpix quickly initiated her next attack, silently moving underneath her fuming (in more than one sense) enemy and letting a small fireball burn just outside her mouth. The resulting updraft of overheated air was comparable to being cooked on a Bunsen burner, although actually doing that in the presence of so many volatile gases would be an idea either incredibly stupid, amazing, or both.

While the landmine Pokémon may have feigned stress over the whole issue, he was actually in a good mood, sort of uplifted by watching his foe struggle so hard not to listen to his beautifully annoying rant. Even the sudden Heat Wave attack didn't quite peeve him. And as such, he still managed to concentrate on trying to figure out the Disable from last round, although doing so a whole round after the last time the move was seen in action turned out rather difficult.

Did Bromine not use up any energy on the protects? Also, guess I may as well point it out now - the icons weren't updated; bulbasaur should have an extra X.

OK, try a toxic first. If she uses safeguard or substitute, then use shock wave. Use sludge bomb next, then chill on your last action. Close your eyes if she tries swagger, hypnosis or confuse ray at any time and fire off a shock wave; probably not fool-proof, but it's worth a shot. Also resort to shock wave if any clones pop up. If she uses disable, then disable that, same goes for any chills she attempts. Fall back on shock wave once again if imprison kicks in and the move you're supposed to use is blocked off.
