Arena: Final Destination
no items, Fox only

A decently stage floating through space, passing through places that make pretty backgrounds. A pool the size of a wading pool has been installed under the main stage for this battle, though it's inaccessible. There's vents surrounding the stage where water can be drawn up from the pool for attacks.
Arena status: A star has fallen on the center of the platform.

-----

As the Final Destination fluttered away from the starry sky, the arena illumination would have started to become precarious. Instead, however, it was much too bright, with the fallen star that had fallen over Always casting light. Much less than it ordinarily would, of course, since standing so close to a fully lit star would probably be blinding; still plenty, however.

Just as the Ducklett finally managed to squirm away from under the Draco Meteor, there was business to deal with. She managed to narrowly avoid the initial lunge, but could do little against it as Storm pinned her down and delivered a furious beating while ranting about ice.

After multiple knocks, though, the duck Pokémon managed to break away from the Frustration attack, taking flight a few meters above the platform, which moved slowly enough to be accompained by air easily. She tried to heft up a bit more, and then dove straight down into her foe, landing with audible impact.

The two battlers took a standoff, waiting to see if either one dared to make a move... And alas, both were recalled into their Pokéballs.

Windragon's new sendout was a small critter that stood tall atop her large tail, light brown fur giving off an exceptional lustre. She was immediately recognized as a shiny Pokémon, and glared at the humans as though she'd been expecting them to figure so out faster.

In response, blazheirio889 released a round, pink Pokémon with multiple floral patterns, casually floating above the platform and casting her red gaze all around, as though she sought something.

At that point, all three Pokémon for the battle had been sent out. No new fighters would join this brawl; it was down to who was around.

Auto-Musharna, yes. At least we're taking one evolution from this!

And what do you know, super-slow dream tapir is somehow faster than Sentret. Just barely, but! Why don't we throw up a medium Substitute for some protection, first. Then two Charge Beams.

If Java manages to break your Substitute and attempts a Super Fang, Protect. If there are clones, just sweep the Charge Beam about, and if Java is inaccessible somehow (Protect, Detect, what have you), Calm Mind.

-----

A glint of light suddenly lit the Final Destination. The platform traveled through a swirl of interstellar clouds, the high speed movement at one point causing the fallen star to drop out of the way. In these conditions, the final battery of sendouts faced off.

Rem immediately pieced together a series of scrap materials, assembling from it a likeness of herself. With a puff of dream smoke mixtured with life force, the decoy came alive, floating carefree as its master.

Immediately with its calling, it felt a wicked shift coming over. With a perfectly timed move, it managed to mostly get away from Java's fist, which glew with pure Fighting energy. Easy stuff for psychics to deal with.

The Sentret found this to be an extremely dirty sort of move. How dare you dodge my wicked awesome punches? Seething with anger, she continuosly attempted to pin the Substitute down with bodily charges, mostly unsuccessful on account equal parts of the premonitive dodgery and of the fact she didn't have terribly much weight to throw around.

Speaking of charges, though, at one point, the Munna kicked up Electric-type energy, charging up from static electricity on the platform, then firing a couple of jolts. By the second one, she'd gathered enough power that it could be used for more than just voltage.

Just before the end of the round, the shiny Pokémon did manage to finish off the decoy; it wasn't quite satisfying with the real enemy still standing there just insultingly, though.

Whaaaat I can't math properly :V Fine you know what.

Super Fang 'til it hits, then just Hone Claws. If Rem Yawns, or uses Hypnosis then Protect. If she tries to use a Substitute to take the Super Fang on the first action, use Double-edge instead.

A large Substitute ought to be able to tank that Double-Edge nicely. Then... man, Charge Beam doesn't seem to like me much... Just use Psychic twice.

Should Double-Edge crit and send your Substitute towards an early demise *preemptive fist shake* create another Substitute, this one small, and... hmm, just use Future Sight, I suppose.

-----

The Final Destination floated in through the interstellar clouds, reaching a spot a few meters above an ocean, lit up by a setting sun just under a cloudy sheet. The two final battlers faced off against the orange-yellow light, adquiring an unusual shade.

Showing insistence, Rem gathered up the pieces of her shattered decoy, hoarding a few more materials along with it. Once more piecing it together and giving it to life, the new Substitute was even bigger than the previous one. Java hurled recklessly against it, only to find the attack only grazing again. After slamming facefist into the ground, she snarled a couple of curses.

Calmly muttering a quip about watching one's mouth, the Munna unleashed her psychic powers, using telekinesis to hurl the opponent around, slamming her on the platform. Enraged by this slight, the Sentret leapt with assistance from her oversized tail, her tiny teeth briefly extending into glowing tusks as she bit the Substitute savagely... To very little effect.

Pouting, the shiny Pokémon settled back and started foiling her claws against one another. Only before she was once more put through a loop of kinetic slams, however.

Question: how do you handle stat boosts?
Each 1+ in offensive stats boosts respective damage by 1%; each 1+ in defensive stats lowers respective damage by 1%; Speed boosts confer 10 points to base Speed; Accuracy boosts confer 10% additional accuracy to all attacks.

And the opposite applies to stat reductions in all cases.

Okay whoops, forgot to command... Right then, Rem, why don't you just use Psychic, Psyshock, and Psychic? Pre-empt any Super Fangs with a quick 10% Substitute, unless you already have one. And in case of clones, sweep around a Charge Beam. If you can't hit Java for whatever reason, also Charge Beam.

-----

Waves rose and fell over the ocean below, making splashing sounds that added a soundtrack to the battle (although the referee would take a Metallica song over that any day).

With no hesitation, Java used her tail to catapult herself over the weakened Substitute, easily shattering it at the cost of not having the most comfortable landing ever. As with before, Rem started to attack with telekinesis, using it to slam her foe against the ground over and over again.

After that attack, the Sentret took ready, carefully studying her opponent's face. Seeing the slightest shift, she darted ownards, about to land an opportunistic jab. Even this sort of trickery wasn't safe from the Munna's precognitive abilities, however; she managed to dodge again (although it meant giving away a weak spot to salvage a weaker one). After that, she unleashed a linear psychic wave and let it become solid, using it as a battering weapon until it faded away.

As with earlier, the shiny Pokémon made her sudden move as soon as it would be disruptive, and again, she had to go through the increasingly annoying exercise of dealing with the oracle evasion. The counterstrike that time was a more traditional Psychic slam, however -- and that was another part of the battle that the ferret was getting very sick of.

It appeared that each time the battle inched close to decisive, it averted this path. No matter how long it took, though, it would eventually reach dire straits.

Overconfident in her abilities, Java attempted the combination of Body Slam and Last Resort, in spite of knowing full well that the latter would take too much focus for it to work. First, she hurled herself at her opponent again, knowing that another stupid dodge was yet to come. It did, but she wasn't particularly effective that one time, and her foe managed to bear her into the ground and keep her trampled for a few seconds.

Knowing that she would be tagged out soon, the Munna prepared to fling a light into the future. Using her precognitive powers to their max, she sent a psychic blast to several minutes into the future.

Not knowing what was going on, Sentret readied the next attack. Just as she began to leap, however, her target disappeared! Instead, Always materialized on the battlefield, and was promptly greeted by a powerful series of spinning, glowing tail slams.
