I was meaning to ask, and I nearly forgot. ._., what is the rate at which the whirpool might occur? As in, "every turn there's a 10% chance the whirlpool will occur" or something along these lines.
EDIT: Never mind, I'll just figure in the whirlpool statistic next round.
On a day as good for a battle as any other, the sun rises over a small aquatic cave. Deep inside, one can find an expectedly rocky terrain and a pretty little lake resting comfortably in the middle of the grotto. The crystalline water gives off the impression of a serene place, but the waters are more turbulent than they appear. One should be careful should he choose to tread said waters, random whirlpools have been known to kick up without warning. Walking in from the side of the cave leading to a surface entrance is two trainers, namely ._. and ole_schooler. They take their places on opposite sides of the lake, just as their referee dashes in trying his best to arrive in a timely manner. After some huffing and puffing in an attempt to catch his breath, Aethelstan raises his flag, signaling for both trainers to release their Pokemon and begin the battle.

With a Mudkip on one side and a Nidoran on the other, the battle had officially begun. Following his trainer’s orders for a speedy defense, Wash dug his feet into the ground and began concentrating on the area around him. Within seconds, a nearly imperceptible glowing, green shield was being emitted, Wash safely tucked away behind it. Mud the Mudkip hadn’t noticed his opponent’s actions however; he was busy with his own little ritual. Pushing himself onto his hind legs, Mud began a simple dance that initially confused an intrigued Wash. As Mud twirled to and fro, one with excellent observational skills would have seen the water from the lake slowly moving in a similarly swirly pattern. Quickly condensing near the cavern’s ceiling, the water soon formed dense clouds that began a soft downpour of rain. Wash was not bothered, just a little wet, and as Mud finished his dance he prepared for his next move.
Curiously enough, the aforementioned ‘next move’ seemed to be doing nothing. Wash was sitting as calmly as he had before, though he seemed to be waiting for something on Mud’s end. Not one to keep his trainer waiting, Mud immediately began clawing at the ground with his flippers, rapidly forming a deep tunnel that circled around the lake towards Wash’s end of the field. Taking the opportunity ole_schooler had informed him of; Wash dropped his force field and took off underground in a fashion very similar to Mud. Expecting a Nidoran to tackle once he reached the other end of the battlefield, Mud was surprised when he popped out of the ground, only to discover his opponent was nowhere to be seen. Cocking his head slightly at the mound of dirt that he himself had not made, Mud was even more surprised when Wash popped right back out of that hole in the ground and jabbed him in a sensitive spot on his side.
Feeling the pain but maintaining his will to fight, Mud sprang back into action mere moments after being knocked aside. After leaping into a shallow section of the lake, Mud began generating excess heat inside his body which he slowly released into the water around him. Soon bubbles indicative of boiling hot water formed, and Mud had begun flailing his body in order to splash as much of this hot water as he could onto a pain-stricken Wash. Wash wasn’t through yet though, he had a trump card he’d been saving this round for the very end. Taking advantage of the clouds that were still looming overhead, Wash summoned a large bolt of lightning from the natural atmospheric electricity and aimed it straight for Mud. Mud, who had already leapt out of the water by this point, stood helpless as the electrical attack surged through his body, effectively rendering several of his limbs useless. Mud had taken a significant beating for so short a round, and a proud yet somewhat winded Wash stood triumphantly across from his paralyzed opponent.
