The Fairly Boring Arena is a gymnasium of average size. There is a small pool of water in the center. Most of the floor is covered in floorboards, but a ten-foot-wide strip of boulder-strewn earth borders the arena.

-----
An Aerodactyl dropped off two folks into the floorboarded ground. A third fellow, who had been riding on that Aerodactyl's back, claimed that that was about as exciting as the battle was likely to get, laughing.
The prehistoric flier was recalled, and the three settled in position -- the trainers faced one another, and the referee stood between them. Metallica Fanboy went through his costumary reminder of rules and then instructed for the sendouts to be made.
エル.'s sendout was a tiny, round, white-shelled critter which bounced around incessantly, bustling with energy and aimless joy. In response, AbsentNumeral released a floating, gaseous blob with a vicious grin across the dark face. Commands were issued for each one, and thus, the battle began.
Hamlet easily shifted towards the opponent, cloaking his head and pumping a massive dose of toxic gas over it. Quickly enough, the toxic agent spread around arteries and veins. However, Legacy rid himself of it as fast as it came along, using psychic powers to ebb it away. Being made of the poisonous smog, the Gastly was not affected by the loose toxins, but anyhow, it was out of the Togepi's system.
The ghost Pokémon took some distance at that point, and appeared to be charging something up. With a jerk forwards, he suddenly unleashed a marsh of dark purple goop from his mouth, washing (or the opposite thereof) over the arena and sweeping his foe right off his feet and into the noxious sludge. The sticky mess was distinctively hard to walk over -- not a cumbrance for the floater, but terribly much a one for the walker. Instead of trying to reach the enemy, however, the egg Pokémon simply set up a light barrier of energy around himself, pushing the garbage around him right aside.
The gaseous blob's next move was to emit a rapidly sparkling orb of light, switching colors at brain-busting rates. Normally, it would have played tricks on the mind of the spiky critter it targeted; however, his protective veil kept his mental state stable, preventing it.
Strangely, right after the Confuse Ray faded, Legacy seemed very disappointed, as though he wanted for the sparkle show to continue. It would be unbecoming of Hamlet to cave in so easily; however, even the wicked could have a hard time staring at a Togepi's pleading eyes and refuse. Unfortunately, the round ended just as he was about to light it up.
