Round XX Begin

The sun was reaching its zenith, and its harsh light was falling upon the battle scene, blinding the trainers and their battlers. The referee was protected by his sorcerer hat, but the biting cold of the day of autumn was as unbearable. The winds got stronger as the star achieved its peek, and the shout of the referee to signal the round open was partly lost in the gusts.

Oblivious to the increasingly strong squalls, Psy focused on her foe, slowly gathering a field of psychic energy under her. Once her feet got completely engulfed in the bizarre force, the Ralts lifted her up roughly two meters high, and the growingly panicked Bulbasaur began to struggle to free herself from the grasp, seeing another Psychic attack coming her way. Nothing happened, though, as the psychic-type concentrated on keeping her aloft rather than squashing her mind into pieces. Violet saw in this short pause the perfect opportunity to rob off another chunk of her vitality, and large green orbs seeped out of Psy’s body almost immediately. The Bulbasaur opened her mouth happily and chomped them whole, feeling better as soon as the energy they contained filled her own body.

Still recovering from the sickening feel of being leeched, Psy tried to lock her gaze into Violet’s, her eyes starting to glow an alarming red. The Bulbasaur was well aware of the technique, however, and summoned the infamous green energy shield as soon as she realized what was going on. The opaque energy cut off the psychic link Psy had established in a second. The psychic-type smirked: everything was going according to the plan. As soon as Violet dropped her guard, the Ralts once again plunged her eyes into hers, and this time the grass-type was caught in the hypnotic trap. Her eyelids fell almost instantly, and in a second she was fast asleep. A thin curtain of creamy light shrouded Violet a moment later, but nothing alarming enough to remove the wide and slightly mad grin that was on Psy’s face.

Wait, doesn't it say in the A&A guide that telekinesis gives 100% accuracy to all moves used against the target? I know it changes nothing, I'm just getting this clarified for future things.

Either way, we must not waste this opportunity! Will-O-Wisp her first, then do Psychic(mental intrusion) twice. If she manages to protect on action 1 somehow, Chill and move Will-O-Wisp over to action 2, and if she protects on action 2 or 3, then Chill.

Will-O-Wisp/Chill~Psychic(mental intrusion)/Chill/Will-O-Wisp~Psychic(mental intrusion)/Chill/Will-O-Wisp

derp I totally forgot about Telekinesis.

Just Sleep Talk (if asleep) or Giga Drain for health (if awake) on actions one and three, and chill on action two.

Round XXI Begin

“There,” Psy thought. “That should keep her busy for a while”. Now much calmer, the psychic-type breathed slowly and began to chant in a low, monotone voice. The song was brief, but its echo hanged in the air for a while after she stopped. Small, purple flames began to sprout from the ground like devilish flowers, spreading a nauseating aroma of rotten plants that the wind quickly blew away. The flames gathered between the Ralts’ hands, forming a crackling sphere, and in a fluid, nearly dance-like movement she sent it towards the sleeping, levitating Bulbasaur. The Will-O-Wisp, despite its slow, erratic course, landed on is target with a “fwoosh”, scattering its ghostly embers all over Violet, biting, searing her skin and sending thin wisps of smoke in the air. The grass-type grimaced in subconscious pain, but did not wake up. Only her large mouth was slightly agitated as she mumbled incomprehensible words, although a skilled trainer could’ve guessed them as being along the lines of “Saur-Saur, Bulbasaur…”

Regardless, as soon as the incantation was drowsily muttered, Violet’s bulb began to shake violently. Four long, tentacle-y vines erupted out, twirling together to form one thick, heavy, whip-like vegetal weapon. Still snoring loudly, Violet brought the monstrous vine down on Psy’s head, knocking her down like she was a house of cards. The green tentacles then untied and tangled pointlessly for a while before returning to the Bulbasaur back.

Psy lifted herself up dizzily, somewhat thwarted and increasingly angered. As she raised her head to glare at her slumbering opponent, she noticed the Light Screen that had been annoying her so much shattered and break. With a grin and not much ado, she began to hammer her foe’s brain with telekinetic pulses, distorting Violet’s face more with each charge. Soon enough, she had to stop, drained out and panting. The Bulbasaur, still sleeping, seemed to seize the opportunity as another veil of white energy bathed her, further enraging the psychic-type.

With an awkwardly high-pitched war cry, Psy sent another impulse of psychic force, and it distorted the very air as it rushed to Violet like a wave, crashing on her with a low, reverberating buzzing sound, and the grass-type was thrown backwards by the sheer pressure of the attack. The telekinetic link between the two battlers broke at that moment, and Violet finished her course rolling on the hard ground. For a second, Psy hoped she was still asleep, as her motionless corpse suggested. The wind itself seemed to be holding its breath as she stared at the Bulbasaur silently.

Fortunately for Zapi, it was an unfortunate day for Psy. In a flash, Violet stood up, helped by two long vines sprouting from her back, glaring madly at the Ralts. She seemed very… different. She seemed animated by a primitive rage, her teeth seemed sharper, and her eyes were glowing in a more bloody crimson. All traces of paralysis had disappeared fro her body as she ran towards the psychic-type at a furious pace. It took her mere seconds to cross the distance the Psychic had created between them, her stubby hind legs propelling her at a surbulbasauran speed. As she reached Psy, she extended her tentacles and anchored them solidly in the ground, using them to rocket herself upwards, just above her foe, who was now trembling in awe. Abnormally large orbs of life energy were tore off the Ralts body and devoured by the overgrown Violet. The health she regained seemed to calm her a bit, but one could read in her eyes that she was on the edge of going mad again.

Psychic – 15% damage, 8% energy

- Light Screen faded at the end of the first action.
- Telekinesis wore off at the end of the second action.
- Violet’s paralysis wore off at the end of the last action. For the record, she is now faster than Psy.
- The second Psychic put Violet in Overgrow range, but Giga Drain brought her above 33% health, so the effects faded.

Hold on...wouldn't the damage cap have caused Violet's health to be at 33% after the second Psychic? Meaning she would've ended up at 47% after the Giga Drain, and, finally, 44% with the burn damage. Or is that not how damage caps work?

I'm also pretty sure Psy should be at 45% health because of the damage cap (not like an extra 1% health will matter much, but still).

True, I forgot this battle had a ridiculously low Damage Cap :P

Will edit.

EDIT: Fixed. Violet ends up at 40% because Giga Drain only heals 7% health, not 14% (only half the damage dealt) and also because Burn damage is also affected by the cap. Fortunately, Violet was still in Overgrow range when she used it, meaning I won't have to re-do the reffing :D

oh derp I knew I missed something there :< at least I was right about the damage cap though

Whoo, no more paralysis! And to make sure you won't be paralyzed again for a while, start off with Safeguard before Psy can do anything to you. Next, heal yourself with Synthesis, but if you were taunted, Giga Drain for health instead. Finally, just chill (but if you are unable to do so due to taunt, Giga Drain for energy).

Safeguard ~ Synthesis / Giga Drain (health)~ Chill / Giga Drain (energy)

(And yes, Giga Drain is still considered an attacking move if it targets energy)

Snatch that safeguard first. Then, Thunder Wave her, and end with a Chill.

Round XXII Begin (omg round twenty-two already?)

Somewhat calmed down by the soothing effect of her previous attack, Violet took a moment to breath. Her foe was a though one, that was for sure, perhaps equalling her both in strength and madness. She moved her legs slightly, just to make sure their movements were definitely freed. Now the Ralts was just short from her, and she would be able to protect herself from other paralysing bullpoo.

Concentrating, she raised a shimmering veil of energy around her, and the Safeguard flickered to life as it extended its protective energy around Violet. The Bulbasaur’s satisfaction was short-lived, however, as a dark aura engulfed Psy, who had been waiting there for the opportunity to rise. Shadowy tentacles spread out of her back, and they reached for Violet as if they were serpents hunting for a particularly cute creamy-white bunny. The tentacles’ ends opened and formed a root-like cage around the grass-type, leeching off the curtain of energy. The operation took only a second, and the dark arms returned to their master as quickly as they came. Violet sorrowfully stared at the Safeguard that was now shining arrogantly around Psy.

Only, there was no time for sorrows. She pumped her chest with pride, like she didn’t give a damn about it, and worked on regenerating her beaten body instead. The sun was shining harshly, with very few clouds to block it, so the job was easy. Her entire being was bathed in the coarse sunrays her skin absorbing its energy at a nearly biologically impossible pace, and soon she felt completely replenished. Once more, however, her foe cut her fun. She sent a weak wave of electric energy, and the attack slowly expended, like flying above the ground until it reached its target. Violet’s eyes widened in awe: she was perfectly conscious of what would happen before the satanic shockwave even touched her.

As the Thunder Wave washed over her, she collapsed on the hard soil.

Once more, her body was partly unresponsive, her legs stiff and her gaze red. Oh, she would’ve loved to tear the Ralts apart, shred her to pieces for messing with her nervous system, but the Synthesis just had drained her. Grumbling, she crouched down and half-closed her eyes: even though she was supposed to take it easy for the moment didn’t mean she had to lower her guard. So there she sat, suspiciously staring at her foe who had began to do the exact same thing, and the glare battle continued until the referee had to signal the round over.

Use Disable first. Then, use Substitute(10%), and end with Psychic, unless she protects, in which case Chill. However, if she uses protect, detect, or whatever to prevent the disable on action 1 from working, move up the Substitute(10%) to that action, and then on action 2 use Telekinesis, and on action 3 use Hypnosis if she doesn't protect, and Chill if she does.

Disable/Substitute(10%)~Substitute(10%)/Telekinesis~Psychic/Hypnosis/Chill

Round XXIII Begin

After a lengthy pause from the ref, who had wandered off looking for an ice cream, he signalled the battle could continue; a flag in one hand and a sundae in the other.

Violet the Bulbasaur glared at her opponent (again). Her body was hurt and tired, her energy was decreasing at an alarming rate and she had the feeling her brain had been mashed to a sickening purée. Still, her eyes gleamed with fierce, her teeth shone in hunger for violence. The vegetal dinosaur wasn’t done.

Psy, meanwhile, began to prepare her next mental offensive. She was only a tiny baby Pokémon, but inside she felt like no else than the almighty Mewtwo itself. Her mind was raging, she could barely keep herself calm, her mind was boiling, expanding to reach Violet.

That is, until a glittering wall appeared in front of the grass-type. Psy growled in anger, but there was nothing she could do about it. Nothing but Giratina’s Shadow Force could pierce the almighty Protect. Instead she concentrated on using the time she had bought, using her powers to create an ugly, albeit very useful decoy from the ground in front of her. The substitute hopped around happily, oblivious to the cruel fate that awaited it.

After a while, the shimmering screen faded, and Violet found herself vulnerable again. And it wasn’t a nice feeling. She didn’t even have the time to take a breath before a psychic force grabbed her and hurled her up, keeping a tight grip around her body all the while. Her legs felt like they were frozen solid, and she could barely move her head around. What she could do, though, was destroying that annoying living shield, even from afar. Down there, green orbs began to seep out of the substitute’s chest, and it looked at them curiously. They were green and shiny, and at first it found them to be quite amusing, until it realized they were actually stealing its life energy. It cried in panic, looking back at its master in fear and incomprehension, but Psy was already preparing her next move and ignored the plaints. Finally, the decoy crumbled apart in dry chunks of soil, and the last green orbs flew to Violet, who swallowed them whole.

As the final gulp was running down her oesophagus, she looked at her foe again. She shouldn’t have. The Ralts eyes were glowing an hypnotic red, and soon Violet found her own gazed to be locked in it, and her mind drifted away… her mind was suddenly all hazy…

She happily let herself slip in a coma, using the welcomed pause to calm down and restore some energy.

Shouldn't Violet still be levitating? Or did something happen and I just missed it...?

Anyway...on the first action, chill no matter what.

For your second action, continue to chill if you're still asleep. However, if you wake up, use Solarbeam; but if you're unable to hit her for whatever reason, just chill again.

And finally, on the third action: Sleep Talk if you're still asleep, and chill if you're awake (but if you haven't used Solarbeam yet, do that instead).

If, at any point while you're asleep, you're supposed to use chill but you can't for some reason, Sleep Talk instead.

Chill / Sleep Talk ~ chill / Solarbeam / Sleep Talk ~ Sleep Talk / chill / Solarbeam

Disable her chill first. Then, use Dream Eater on her twice, both times draining her energy instead of her health. If she wakes up, however, then use Double Team for 3 clones, and Chill on the next action, if applicable.

Disable~Dream Eater(energy)/Double Team(3 clones)~Dream Eater(energy)/Double Team(3 clones)/Chill
