DQ: A week
Damage Cap: 45%
Manned Moves: OHKOs, Self-kill moves (explosion etc), Chills Limited to 5/Pokemon, Direct Heals limited to 1/Pokemon
Arena: Land of Little Cubes and...Glass?

Oh, that's not right... It seems this place is some strange mix of Nepeta Leijon and Feferi Peixes' Planets. It has three 'states' - one entirely Land of Little Cubes and Tea (LOLCAT), one entirely Land of Dew and Glass (LODAG), and one a mix of both (LOLCAG). The arena randomly shifts between the three between rounds, and the next one should be noted in a round's end notes. They are as follows:

LOLCAT: Has mainly clear weather and yellow-orange tea reminiscent skies, along with a snowy sugary ground. Powder pink teapots with black cats are visible atop the peaks. This land is made up of little sugar cubes, and some are piled into the shapes of hills, while others create large mountains. There are rivers of green tea on this planet with waterfalls of green running down thousands of little cubes.

A Pokemon may eat a cube or two, which takes an action and restores 4% energy, though the Pokemon will loose 5% energy 5 actions after doing so in a sugar crash, if they have not recently eaten a cube. The 5 action timer is reset each time a cube is eaten, so if a Pokemon eats a cube, then eats another 3 actions later, the drop will happen 5 actions after the second. Feline-based Pokemon deal 1% more damage after all other modifiers have been applied, and take 1% less energy to use attacks.

LODAG: Has an underwater castle situated within a gigantic fish bowl with the first gate just out of reach. The rest of the world is covered in tall grass, dotted with colorful glass ornaments or sculptures emerging from the ground. The sky appears to be some sort of fluorescent shell-themed pattern, but made of glass.

The battle takes place inside the bowl, though battlers may attempt to leave. All non-water breathing Pokemon acquire a bubble around their head that allows them to breathe, and through some strange science...magic...game stuff, can swim and attack at normal speed. Fish-based Pokemon deal 1% more damage after all other modifiers have been applied, and take 1% less energy to use attacks.

LOLCAG: Has what looks largely like LOLCAT for terrain, though bits of grass and the odd colourful glass ornaments poke up around the sugar in places. The tea has been replaced with crystal water, and a large glass bowl is set in the middle of the ground full of water, about ten feet wide and five deep. A non-water breathing Pokemon that enters it also gains their bubble as in LODAG, and, strangely, waterbound Pokemon may leave the water by hovering (think in the 3D Pokemon games).

Other: It has already been decided which Pokemon being used, so the ref may skip the sending portion of the battle.

Anyway, Nepeta's up.

*rubs hands together* About time we add another battle under our belts, eh Colours?

Feferi you are up. Time to shine and show these glubbing fools that you are truly a Princess your Mama said you were!

Lets start with a nice, friendly greeting to your feline friend~ I want you to Tickle the daylights from that kitten, then follow up with a nice pretty Mist to play hide and seek with her. Finally, I want you to show her your most Secret of Powers to draw from the land around you. Now dear, time to go play with your little friend, this is but a friendly match where the only culling being had is cuddling~

Before Feferi can move, Nepeta kicks off the sugary powdered ground and slams claws-first into the fish, scraping her side lightly but mostly startling the living daylights out of the poor thing. Feferi flounders away from the cat, too shocked to remember what she was actually supposed to do, and literally terrified out of her mind - there's a cat right there and the cat wants to eat her oh my god!!!

Quickly, perhaps as an attempt to hide, Feferi coughs up a thick mist, more than she could possibly have been hiding in her little fishy body. The mist spreads across the arena, hiding all the sugary goodness and the feebas as well. Unfortunately Feferi is still visible - and smellable - enough for Nepeta to charge up a current of electricity and hit her target. The sparks trickle into Feferi's body, but something charges back, reacting as a sort of defense mechanism - the tiny prism scale she holds for evolution shines bright and spreads across her entire body, covering her entire body with shimmering, bold scales. This does mean she's quite visible to the purrloin she'd like to avoid - but she feels so strong now, even though she's slowed down by the paralysis. Her scales are so shiny and thick, nothing can possibly hurt her.

Perhaps just to break her confidence, because no one should feel stronger than Nepeta, the purrloin snarls viciously at Feferi. She's noticed her heightened defenses and she doesn't like it. Feferi flinches, her boldness ebbing away just a bit; enough to make her hesitate before attacking. Not too much though.

Feferi draws upon some hidden energy within her, summoning the energy up into a shimmering beam of icy-blue coldness. The thin beam shreds towards Nepeta, striking her on the chest - Nepeta shakes the attack off quite easily though, a few shards of ice falling from her fur but no other sign that it really hurt Feferi frowns, wishing there was some better way of getting rid of her assailant.

While Feferi is clearly more comfortable in their new watery arena, Nepeta is still the faster of the two, especially now that Feferi is barely able to move with her paralyzed fishy muscles. And so Nepeta is quick to swim down and find the large castle situated in the middle of the fish bowl, flex out her claws and screeeeeeech them across the castle walls. The noise is absolutely horrendous but her claws are more than thankful, thinning out to pointy, delicate, deadly weapons with each rub against the sandpapery wall. Nepeta grins in anticipation, anxiously awaiting her fishy meal.

Feferi frowns, because that's all she can do. She'd more than love to grab the stupid cat in a whirlpool trapping her for the round at least, but she can't even do that with how terrible her muscles are. Instead she twitches in the water, letting it push her back and forth without being able to even move her fins to stop it. If this was an actual ocean she'd be sharpedo-bait.

Luckily her only predator is a purrloin, and that purrloin is busy hacking away at a castle rather than her. Nepeta's claws are more than sharp by now, but she's not satisfied: they need to be knives! The deadliest weapons! Sharper than a mightyena's fangs! She claws and claws, digging trenches into the castle, a self-satisfied grin spreading across her face.

While she's busy, Feferi's muscles finally ease up and the feebas doesn't hesitate before kicking it. She spots a bush somewhere below, watery reeds set up in the fish tank for a fish like her that wants to hide from prying eyes, and she intends to use it! Within moments she's under the probably-fake reeds, hiding from her opponent and hoping it's good enough protection.

Nepeta twirls away from the castle, suddenly done and looking for the fish she wants to eat. ... Where is that fish...? She growls, unable to smell anything through her protective bubble, and even if there was no bubble supplying her with air she'd be stuck in water, and who can smell in that? She really doesn't like this stuff, ew, what cat does? But then she sees it - from the corner of her eyes, because that's what cats are known for, a little twitch of feebas-yellow down bellow. Her grin widens, yes, yes, that's right, little fishy, you're miiine. She swoops down, perfectly capable of swimming despite her hatred of it, and stretches her deadly now pitch-black claws at Feferi, slashing her thick armour. She's shocked to find that no matter how much she sharpened her claws, they barely scratch the surface of the feebas's scales, even the dark energy coating her paws only barely aiding to dig into Feferi. A thin scratch is all that's left to show she even struck her mark - dammit. She swims away from the feebas, pissed beyond belief.

Feferi twirls around, formerly terrified and now suddenly... alarmingly calm. That didn't hurt nearly as much as she thought it would. Maybe she's the predator in this situation and her parents got it wrong? Hmmm. Either way, she's not going to let the purrloin go so easily. She closes her eyes and creates a bubble of warmth around her; the water bubbles, ripples with heat, and she spits out a jet of boiling-hot water towards the purrloin. Nepeta's still swimming away and the water hits her in the back, burning across her fur; she swirls around and yowls, furious and pained, but the cool water in the fishbowl quickly soothes her aches and there's no lasting burn. There's nothing to soothe her anger, though, and she glares daggers at Feferi, who twitches in still-lingering fear.

Unphased by the third change in arena, Nepeta kicks off the fishbowl wall and zooms straight towards Feferi, scratched the fish lightly but more than anything, startling the living daylights out of her. Though it's the second time she's used this trick, Feferi doesn't seem to have caught on; instead she shivers in place, terrified of an opponent that can move so fast and and and what if that's not all she does?? She just can't think, she can't even remember what she was ordered to do - halp.

After a moment's pause, Feferi gulps and manages to recall what's going on - a battle! Yes, she's supposed to show the purrloing what she's made of. And that's more than soy sauce and sushi. She burps out a bubble, a bright, shiny white bubble, and Nepeta finds herself entranced by it. Utterly fascinated. The bubble is her world. She swims over, staring at the bubble as it floats around all strange-like, with the most ethereal glow. So... lovely. Eventually the bubble pops, but its glow is locked in Nepeta's eyelids, flickering about like candlelight.

She manages to blink it away for now, spreading her claws and swooping down onto Feferi, slashing the fish neatly across the side. Feferi gulps in pain, but it's only a thin scratch, nothing to worry about really - only actually terrifying. All things are terrifying when fighting a cat.

She can fix that though! Yes! She blows bubbles into Nepeta's face, and while the purrloin hisses furiously, Feferi kicks her fins into gear, swimming circles furiously around the little - or actually really really big - fish bowl. She swims faster and faster, so fast that she actually catches up with herself, blurring into her own mirror image and - and she seems to be swimming endlessly round, so many of her, six of her. Nepeta stares incredulously, for when Feferi stops circling, there are indeed six fish, all staring Nepeta down. Safety in numbers!

Nepeta twitches in agitation. Her confused state is not helping her make heads or tails of this. She growls under her breath, finally deciding to attack that one; dark energy seeps from her claws, flowing into the water, and she crashes into - a shimmering, fake fish. The clone disappears, fading into plain water, and Nepeta yeowls in fury. God damn fish! She's hungry!

While this was great for Nepeta, Feferi seemed utterly shocked and splashed around wildly, muscles twitching in paralysis for a few seconds before coming to grips with the situation. Fine. No water. Suck. Even more noticeable was the sudden mist: it was mostly evaporated by now, but still strong enough to coat Nepeta, ridding her of her sharpened claws. Perhaps this was only fair, since Feferi couldn't swim in this most ridiculous of situations.

Nepeta grinned. She was finally faster. Her claws flashed dark and she jumped at her prey, slashing Feferi's hide again and leaving more thin scratch marks. Feferi floundered, pained and scared even further now that she had no water to hide in; this was terrible.

She bounced sideways, turning to face the purrloin, and and turquoise glow spread around her; Nepeta backed away, but not in time, for the glow burst out and smacked into her, tossing her onto her back and burning her chest-fur. She whimpered; gosh, that was terrible. Smelled like fish, and not the tasty kind, the rotten kind. Feferi grinned - that'll teach her! Hee.

The mist had, by now, thinned out so much that it was utterly gone, lost to the probably-marshmallow-clouds. Nepeta didn't really notice; she got back to her feet, swerved and pounced on the feebas, landing claws-stretched. Feferi gasped for air - Nepeta landed hard, slamming her into the sugar-ground, and stunning her. The cat bounced back off, but she was thoroughly stunned, and definitely wanted to get away; all fears confirmed.

Feferi spotted tea-rivers. Target locked. She bounced, flopped, squirmed her way over. Nepeta tilted her head, amused by the thrashing fish, but Feferi finally managed to toss herself into the river - yes. Goal managed. Once she'd succeeded though, she didn't want to toss herself out. Sure, damage was damage, but water goddammit! She felt so free and fast! And there was no way the purrloin wanted to follow her here... sigh. Still, orders...

She dove down, as deep as she could in the strange-tasting waters. She touched the river-bottom, poking it with her fins, and then spun round and shot back up at rapidly increasing speeds; and as she flew up through the waters her tail began to glow silver, thrashing through the rapids and pummeling her forwards; and she shot out of the water, twisting around and slapping Nepeta with her iron-hard tailfin across the face. Nepeta shrieked, paws raised to cover her new wound; drops of blood dripped from her nose and mouth, it felt like her face was hit by a pan. She continued shrieking for minutes, while Feferi landed and flapped about, half regretting getting out of the water.

In her shock and turmoil, Nepeta's shrieks intensified, and she poked and clawed at her face-wound, mind lost to her temporary insanity. She couldn't focus on commands, or battle, only the confusion and pain; clawing at her face felt good.

Final Notes:
  • ... I figured the fish bowl would not have been in the same location as the tea rivers, so Feferi flopped onto the ground. Since she wasn't commanded to find water until dive, she... stayed there.
  • Nepeta struck herself in confusion on the third action.
  • Next round will take place in LOLCAG.
  • buh.
  • HighMoon next.

Alright hun, lets continue to do some work. First, find water so you don't flop around again. Once you have water go into a Surf attack to wash that kitty away (and if you happen to bring sugar with you, we can pray that it sticks on her and makes her into a sticky mess). After, use Scold and slam her against a glass statue. Finally i want you to use Iron Tail again and send her back into a glass statue.

If you are both in water however, her Whirlpool first action and Iron Tail her above the water and follow with another Iron Tail to send her into the sugar sand outside of the water.

If she protect, Just Chill

Have fun~

Land of Little Cubes and...Glass?

By some unknowable means the two pokemon are magically transported to the fishbowl once more, a protective bubble placing itself around Nepeta's head to supply her with air. Feferi squishes around in excitement, while Nepeta scowls - she's fine in water, but she hates how comfortable Feferi is. Stupid fish.

Feferi doesn't waste any time. She twirls around, summoning the water around her, and the water obeys, whipping round faster and faster and catching Nepeta in a furious torrent of whipping waters. The waters move so fast that Nepeta has no hope to escape; she's trapped, circling round in the whirlpool, until the water calms down - and who knows when that'll be. She hisses furiously, trying to escape with all her might and unleash her frustration unto the feebas, but there's no hope for her at all - she simply cannot reach Feferi. Feferi swims about maddeningly, quite safe from the purrloin, and inexorably happy about it.

She's about to change things up, though. Her tailfin glows bright, shining metal, and she swishes quickly over through the whirlpool and towards Nepeta - twirls over tail-first to strike the cat - and her tail goes wide, swishing against the swirling waters instead of Nepeta's fur. The purrloin hisses with glee, slashing out with her dark-stained claws and opening more scratch wounds across Feferi's side; she's all scratched up by now, but only tiny scratches, tiny droplets of blood sinking into the fisbowl's water. So little she barely even notices them individually, but all together they do hurt. She swims away from Nepeta, ashamed of her miss and beginning to hurt, but mostly growing rather tired.

Nepeta bunched herself up in the whirlpool, darkness coating her fists; she had to wait until the stupid fish came close enough for her to smack within the whirlpool's range. And Feferi did, her tail flashing bright while she swam closer, close enough for Nepeta to launch forwards and smash across the face with all her might. Feferi screeched and came to a sudden halt, shocked, but regained her composure in time to twist about and smack Nepeta cross the side with her iron-hard tail fin; Nepeta shrieked and shoved herself away from the fish, the whilrpool's harsh waters crashing against from the other side - she whimpered in pain, curling up on herself. Her only comfort was how tired Feferi looked, swimming in place and breathing hard. Both pokemon wanted a break.

hrf.

Chill, then smack her around a little with Night Slash. Hone Claws if you cannot attack her at all. Purrloin, you have a really boring movepool.
