First thing one thinks looking at this guy is either "Wow he's slow" or "BF DAT HP." And indeed the latter is this guy's major saving grace. His bulk is fantastic, and his typing holds a fair amount of key resistances (though it's still not the best, so caution must be used.) This guy brings to mind Conkeldurr, and though he lacks he concrete-wielding clown's raw power, he just might have a little more survivability due to his superior bulk.

His moveset for the most part works in his favour. Access to Grasswhistle is an unexpected but welcome option, and through breeding he can also get the fantastic Mach Punch. He also greatly appreciates getting powerful STAB moves like Power Whip and Hammer Arm. It's a shame he doesn't get Drain Punch, though, because the move would serve him incredibly well. As such, he's left with no reliable recovery and must rely on Wish support if he wants to keep on tanking. He also suffers a bit from not having access to Focus Punch, which would work nicely with Grasswhistle. Still, the basket beaver has a lot going for him, and is a worthy asset to any team looking for a bulky fighter.

This is a pokemon that has almost everything it needs. Its stats are well balanced, and while none are particularly high there are quite a few things that go into making them work. Its movepool is small but very precise, giving it strong STAB moves like Dark Pulse and Acrobatics, as well as things like Moonlight, Roost, and Tail Glow. Its typing also helps to pad out its very usable bulk, having a wide array of useful resistances. Even its slightly disappointing speed is easier to deal with with how easy it is to switch in. Finally, though its two released abilities aren't very useful, its Dream World one is incredible, giving it free opportunities to heal and set up with Tail Glow.

However, this isn't a perfect pokemon. Both of its healing moves are a bit risky. Moonlight loses power in most weather conditions, and Roost rids itself of its Flying type, making it easy for Fighting types to come in and take it down.

Its biggest problem, though, is that it desperately wishes it had a more reliable Flying STAB, especially to scare off Fighting types. It makes Roost quite a bit more dangerous for Galliesca than most other Flying types. In order to use its best Flying move, Acrobatics, it either must use a Flying Gem or forgo an item altogether, when a pokemon like this has stats low enough to where it would much rather hold an item that would give it more overall utility, such as a Life Orb or Leftovers. Without Acrobatics, it is forced to rely on the much, much weaker Air Cutter, Aerial Ace, or Sky Drop.

Despite its flaws, it still has a lot going for it. It's a great mixed attacker and has a few other tricks it can work with as well.
