Old Milborough Manor

Phantom

You open the book to some empty pages, so you begin to turn back until you find a page with words. It reads...
"I saw them again tonight. They will never leave... He will never leave... I wish I had never gone through with it. I wish I could take it back. I never would have done it if I knew this would happen. I fear for our safety. The priests could do nothing. Perhaps we shou"
... the page ends there.

The page ended abruptly. Phantom felt goosebumps as she closed the book - a journal of sorts, she now knew - and placed it back on the old desk. She hoped whoever the author is... was... was just overreacting to something. But priests? And who was the 'he' that they talked about? Was there someone still living in the old home? No, she thought, glancing at the red book once more, this place is abandonded, besides, someone must have heard me by now.

She didn't know if the thought was a good thing or a very bad.

Her partner at her side, Phantom left the old study to its dusty silence. She shut the door behind her. She had no idea why she shut the door, it just felt like the right thing to do. She glance at the other closed door. Crossing the hallway once more she breathed deeply and reached for the door knob...

[can Cato be a charmeleon? He's evolved... creepy house? I'd rather have a mid evolved Pokémon by my side.]

Phantom
(sure, that's fine.)

The doorknob is icy cold to the touch, unlike the knob of the other door. This door also opens much easier. This room appears to be a bedroom... a child's bedroom. The bed on the right is small and covered gently in a plush comforter with little frilly bits around the edges, like the sort a little girl might like to have. The pillow still looks very soft, as well. Old toys lie strewn about on the floor, mostly dolls, but there's a tipped over rocking Ponyta over on the left side of the room.
There's a window directly across from you, and you can see outside again. The sky looks rather dark. Some plush dolls line the floor beneath the window.

You feel like you're being watched.

This room, for some reason, gave Phantom the creeps. There was something surreal about this child's bedroom in a place such as this; like corrupted innocence.

Of course, it didn't help that she felt something watching her.

She crossed the room, ever wary of unseen eyes watching her, and looked at the rocking Ponyta. She smiled remembering her own childhood toy, a stuffed Ponyta. She picked up the poor thing and set it rightside up. Leaving the toy she made her way to the row of plush toys by the window.

As you approach the plush toys beneath the window, your feeling of unease skyrockets. Something is not right with these things. The lighting in the room shifts uncomfortably, and darkens... even despite Cato's flame.

The room goes totally dark for a brief moment, then a pair of bright red eyes lights up in the plush pile.

You encounter a male Banette! He doesn't appear too happy to see you, either, springing at you, his grisly mouth unzipped.

(You'll need to have a brief battle with this guy before you can catch him. Just a fast and loose roleplay battle. Be careful not to burn the place down!)

[Yeah, burning the place down might not be good.]

Phantom jumps back. "Why you little sonofa-"

Cato was in front of her all of a sudden, ready for battle. "Cato! Go! Use Shadow Claw!"

A slightly timid teenager approaches the abandoned grounds of the mansion. The trees caused the mansion to be blocked from her vision, but she noted the large hill nearby. She began to walk towards it, her Bulbasaur in tow. As she approached the hill, she realized that there was a large amount vines and shrubbery, clearly the grounds had been abandoned for a long while, covering the ground. Wondering what might be hidden underneath, Tangle crouched down and tugged at the vines.

Phantom

The Banette screeches as the ghostly energy of Cato's claws slices through it like butter... or maybe better than butter. Uncomfortably, the Banette splits in half where Cato claws him before reforming and firing a Shadow Ball in his direction.

Tangle

You pull away the vines to discover they were covering a tombstone. You look up and realize you're surrounded by tombstones, all covered in varying degrees with vines. You appear to be in a cemetery. It has a really uneasy vibe, intensified by the mist that hangs in the air.

"C'mon Cato, use Flamethrower, but don't set the room on fire!" Phantom said quickly in one breath.

The mist in the air, clinging to Tangle's surroundings made her feel extremely uneasy, but when she turned around she found that she could not find her way back off the grounds. She looked to Bulbasaur for help, but even she didn't know the way out. What could she do now?

Phantom

The flamethrower and the shadow ball meet in midair between the two Pokemon, causing a small explosion that shakes the room. The Banette is knocked into the wall, and he falls limply to the floor. He doesn't get back up.

Tangle

You hear a rustling a few yards away, followed by what sounds like a crumbling of stone. Your Bulbasaur hears this and looks off in that direction.

After making sure the room is indeed not albaze, Phantom reached into her pack, enlarging a pokéball and contemplating on whether to catch the little demon.

Eh might as well, she thought as she tossed the pokéball.

When her Bulbasaur looked off in the direction of the noise, Tangle froze in fear. She had a terrible urge to step toward the sound. She soon gave in, and began to slowly step in that direction.

You enter the room to see a somewhat disturbing scene. The air is quite cold here, and has a vague sense of disturbance, though nothing you can really nail down. A faded mess of circles and triangles, painted in some red substance, probably one of those magic circles you see on the covers of new age books, is on the floor in the center of the small chamber. A pile of oddly-colored dust sits in the center of the circle. On the corners of the triangles that meet with the edges of the circle, forming a ring, sit

several Litwick! They seem to have been sleeping before you shrieked. You might be able to catch one before they manage to crawl away.
(at first I was like :C Alraune never replied to me and then I realised that I actually never posted this hurr)

"eeeh oh Crackle look aren't they darling?" uv crouches down to the nearest liwick, pokeball in hand, as Crackle stares at what looks like a pentagram drawn in... Is that blood? uv? But uv isn't listening, instead making cooing noises at the candle pokemon. Crackle stares, the flickering blue light dancing along his face. What's that in the middle? Crackle starts towards the oddly-coloured dust, the litwick mostly gone now. uv just smiles, leans over to the litwick close to her and presses the button on her pokeball.

You successfully catch the Banette! The tension in the room clears and the lighting returns to normal (though it's still pretty dark, only lit by Cato's flame and the moonlight coming through the window). You find a small key where the Banette's body was. Maybe this unlocks something?

As you walk through the fog towards the sound, a large shadow slowly becomes visible. As you get even closer, you make out the large shape to be...

A female Dusclops! She doesn't seem to have noticed you yet, though.

You catch a female Litwick! The other Litwick are hiding in the corners of the room now, lighting it faintly in blue. You notice a purple book on the floor across the room, decorated in a silver illustration of the circle you found the Litwick in.

"I got one!" uv grins and holds the pokeball to her chest. "See Crackle? See?" Crackle nods, not really interested, and not really convinced that it was just a couple of litwick that set off his aura. Instead he pads over to the book on the floor. It's pretty dusty, but the silver inscription on the cover still manages to twinkle through. Crackle picks it up, dusting it off, and opens it near one of the corners of the room to catch the Litwick's light.
"What's that?" uv stands up and walks over to Crackle, looking over his shoulder. Crackle shrugs and turns over a yellowing page.

"Quick, Cadence, vine whip the Dusclops before it sees us!"
She readied one of her pokeballs, in case she was able to catch the pokemon.

The book is written in faded pencil, and is mostly nonsense. Pentagrams and similar shapes are scribbled on the sides of the pages. There is a page with the pentagram in the room drawn at the top, and the following phrases are written beneath it:
VIVUS SUB MALEDICTIONEM
BREVIS MENTIS DOLOR
SUPER TERRAM TUTO
INSCIUS SIMULARE MORTEM

The Dusclops is startled as your Bulbasaur wraps her vines around it. The Dusclops' head spins around trying to find you, her one red eye glowing brightly and casting a red light on the surrounding tombstones. She struggles, unable to get out of the vines.

With her Bulbasaur holding it tight, Tangle threw the pokeball at the restrained Dusclops.

Stala
A few yards away you see a small cabin that can't be more than two rooms large inside. Maybe some servant lived in it? Behind you on the horizon you can see the mansion.

Stala trotted to a halt. Choices, choices, she was never good with choices. She considered asking Arizona, but a) she couldn't understand him and b) he appeared to be preoccupied with sobbing gently to himself. As for her new nocturnal friend, well, he probably wasn't to happy about the whole "woken up by a crazy girl and then forcibly taken" thing. In the end she fell back on her usual decision-making plan; what's the closest? In this case it meant the cabin, which she proceded to run over to and land a jump kick on the door.
