Part 15.5[/hide]
1. Only catch the first Pokemon seen on a route/area.
1a. (Dupes) If the first Pokemon is a duplicate of a Pokemon currently alive, it can be skipped in favor of the next one. If the next one is also a duplicate, it can be skipped, and so on until a non-duplicate shows up. Duplicates may still be caught, though.
1a-1. If a Pokemon in the same evolutionary family as one that has already been caught appears, it can be passed over as a duplicate.
1b. Separate floors of dungeons/caves/etc are considered different areas for the purpose of Pokemon catching.
1c. (Shiny) Shinies override the first-Pokemon rule.
1d. Gift Pokemon do not count as first encounters, nor do revived fossils.
1e. However, only one fossil may be revived in the course of the game.
2. If a Pokemon faints, it dies.
2a. Dead Pokemon must be avenged by fainting the Pokemon who killed them instead of running away in the case of a wild battle.
3. No Repels.
4. All Pokemon must be nicknamed.
4a. Nicknames should be randomised.
5. Trades are not allowed, except in the cases of 5a and 5b.
5a. Trades for evolution are allowed.
5b. In-game trades are allowed.
6. If the starter dies, it's game over.
7. The starter must always remain in the party.
