Round three
Still a bit sleep-addled, Drake blinks rapidly as he absorbs his next commands. He isn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of trying to woo this nasty spook, but he gives it a fair shot anyway. He coughs to draw Darkness' attention, before launching into a mumbled speech about how they got off on the wrong foot so to speak... At first, Darkness is pretty scornful. She’s still plenty focused and feeling nasty, so Drake’s stammering compliments just look silly. Undeterred, Drake lays on the charm even thicker, thinking up best compliments he can muster, which isn’t very easy. Should he comment on the lovely purplish colour of her aura or something? He gives it a go, sliding towards her cautiously and holding out his tail in a friendly gesture. Darkness eyes him suspiciously, not sure what to make of his sudden change in demeanour. However, she finds herself being won over by his new, polite attitude. Darkness’ grin gradually becomes just a little less jagged, and a little less menacing. Although lingering doubts remain in her mind, she has to admit, the tiny dragon is being quite gentlemanly. His wide array of compliments are actually quite lovely. Maybe she was a bit hasty; it seemed that the living could be quite dashing sometimes…
Drake isn’t sure whether the Spirtomb’s enamoured smile is worse than her “I’m going to hurt you and enjoy every second of it” smile. However, it only takes about ten seconds of the ghost’s cooing and fawning to decide that yes, this was worse. Much worse. Not to mention ten times creepier.
Struggling to suppress a shudder, Drake forces himself to smile, affectionately patting Darkness on her keystone. Wait; is that really such a good idea? After all, it’s basically her prison. Can she even feel anything on it…?
Upon seeing his perplexed expression, Darkness confuses it with reluctance, and decides to take the plunge herself. She reaches out with her essence, forming crude, hand like shapes, and tries to embrace the little dragon. Drake is completely unable to suppress a shudder this time; the clawed, wispy hands wrapped around him feel horribly cold and suffocating. Darkness appears cheerfully oblivious to the Dratini’s horror, she instead continues to “hug” him, the green lights on her body swirling and glowing brightly.
Darkness probably isn’t going to be too thrilled with his next course of action, but that’s really too bad. He really isn't enjoying this display of affection, it feels likes he's being smothered by thick, cold fog. He begins to cough and hack, forming a vile array of toxins. Darkness looks at him in concern, guiltily remembering that dragons dislike cold, but remains reluctant to remove her touch. However, as Drake abruptly spits the fully formed glob of poisonous goo at her face, she immediately withdraws with a screech of surprise. Beeing at such close range, the unfortunate spook get a face full of the seething chemicals, and they waste no time in soaking into her ethereal skin.
Drake winces at the ghost’s wailing and grimly turns to face her, trying his best to look apologetic.
Darkness isn’t buying it unfortunately, and she curses herself for not trusting her instinct from before.
Never trust the living! Hissing and spitting, her purplish form flares up, swirling rapidly like an angry storm cloud, and the lights on her body glow a dark and sickly green colour. She has more than enough nasty thoughts to fuel her attack now, and her earlier plotting comes into play as she unleashes her dark, roiling emotions as a physical force. A black wave of dark energy rushes from her keystone and washes over Drake, burning into his skin and filling his mind with Darkness’ vindictive thoughts.
Drake grimaces, his whole body shuddering as he struggles to push away the remaining darkened thoughts. That little romance definitely didn’t last long, and his next course of action is going to save anything.
Nevertheless, he grimly pushes on, trying to ignore the painful burning and tingling feeling from the dark pulse’s aftermath. Green, draconic flames flicker to life around his serpentine form, and gradually engulf him in a small inferno of fire. Bracing himself, Drake charges recklessly at Darkness and sends her form swirling in disarray again as he passes through her. The green flames lick greedily at Darkness’ keystone, drawing a pained cry from the angered ghost. She slowly falls into place again, as Drake recovers from his momentum, turning around to survey the results.
Darkness glares at him, her jagged mouth carved in an ugly frown. Her short lived feelings towards Drake have definitely passed, and her mind is once again devoid of nothing but dark, vindictive plots of pain and revenge. As her form begins to swirl angrily, she winces as the poison flowing through her wispy flesh reminds her of his troubling presence.
Oh, that stupid little dragon is going to pay…
She unleashes another wave of vicious, spiteful thoughts in one darkened rush at Drake, who cries out as the horrible burning feeling washes over him again. As the last black wisps fade away, Drake is left looking shaken and scared, his body left peppered with blackened burn like marks.

Arena notes
There's a small, slightly smoking crater in the grass behind Darkness. Nothing remarkable.
Battle notes
- Drake's attract was a bit less effective thanks to Darkness' previous use of repeated calm mind. (Which makes the user less susceptible to moves that mess with their mental state)
- Darkness was distracted by attract on the first action but fully snapped out of it by the end of the third action.
- OK, I kept trying to condense this a bit, but it kept turning out overly long, bleh.
- RespectTheBlade attacks first.
