• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Attacks and Abilities Guide

Can a pokémon theoretically absorb a Substitute they made earlier, as a form of healing, while breaking the substitute itself?

Also, can one order the Substitute to do something other than selflessly protect its creator?

invisible post?

Anyway, is it possible to absorb a substitute you made prior to recover health, while destroying the Sub at the same time?

Also, is it possible to order one's Substitute to do something other than selflessly protect its creator?

If a Pokemon is holding an item it needs for evolution (an Upgrade on a Porygon, for example) and uses Thief to steal another item, what happens? I presume that it would drop its item to steal the new one, but when the battle's over, would it get experience credit for battling with its evolution item? Or would it have to go back and pick up its evolution item before the battle ends to get credit?

If a Pokémon holds an evolution item at the beginning of the battle, it can use it to evolve at the end. Also, you can choose whether or not to keep the stolen item when you use Thief.

Just how does Shed Skin cast off sleep?
The dead, flaky skin is so itchy and uncomfortable that it wakes the pokémon up.

No and no. You can physically move your substitute around and use it for stuff, but it will not do anything but protect its creator of its own will/under its own power.

You can't steal an item while you're holding one, so while thief would still hit and deal damage, you wouldn't get the item. As others have remarked, it matters only that you entered battle with the evolution item; what happens to it over the course of the battle doesn't matter for the purpose of evolving the pokémon.

Does Facade's effect stack with more status conditions? As in, does it do more damage if you have two status conditions than i you only have one?

Also,Curse doesn't say it costs 50% of the maximum health, or saps 10% of the maximum health per round - you might want to change that.

Skull Bash - 100 Normal 100%
Target: Single
Class: Contact/Stat modifier (defense)
Stat: Physical
Contest Type: Pure Points
Contest Score: +10, -40

The user lowers its head, bracing itself and guarding weak points to slightly increase its defense, and then charges the opponent at full force for high damage.

Does Skull Bash still get the one-action delay, like in the games?

Thay depends on the ref, but yeah, generally. Though they generally start with a high priority, so they'd be easier to distrupt than most moves.

(As in: Bulbasaur begins charging energy, Rattata uses Tackle, Bulbasaur fires off Solarbeam.)

And you can command your Pokemon to use the two-action version instead, but really, that's almost never more useful than the default one-action version.

Come to think of it, though, this has been asked quite a few times. Maybe something should be added to the first post or something.

Although it shows that no-one ever reads the thread first.
