Pentimento vs Walker vs sreservoir

Hey pal, my question was actually important to my commands!

First off, use Rock Polish, then Safeguard against any Hypnosis or phasing attempts. With any luck, Niska will use the first turn to exploit that ridiculously obvious weakness to Taunt in res' commands, but if not, and she tries to Taunt, Hypnosis, or phase into you, Protect, and move everything over an action (not more than once, of course). On the last action, assuming you don't have to do something else, Extrasensory at Niska, because it's waaay more energy efficient than Psychic.

Rock Polish / Protect ~ Safeguard / Rock Polish / Protect ~ Extrasensory / Safeguard / Rock Polish

You're both screwed anyhow since the haze is still there. :o And asking what SS meant by 'base power' was surely semantics!

Anyhow, Niska. We're gonna have fun this round, though no taunting will be involved (not on the first action either, walker, definitely not a turn). First, become visible again, then Shadow Ball Ruin. Phase into Nenya and chill in there.

Or, alternatively; if the ref decrees that Nenya would attempt to mimic Shadow Ball while Niska is inside her but, for obvious reasons would fail, switch chill for a Shadow Ball.

Also, if phasing doesn't require an entire action, chill on the action you phase into Nenya, then Thunder her on the third action (or Shadow Ball if ref says bla bla).

Uh and yeah phase out at end of round. Yayyyy ghosts.

Shadow ball @ Ruin ~ Phase @ Nenya / Phase @ Nenya + Chill ~ Chill / Thunder @ Nenya / Shadow Ball @ Nenya

I've been doing it for three years and had a huge hiatus in there that lasted until a month or two ago! >|

Fleet Town used to be a boisterous, prosperous city, made up of well-built houses, apartments, beautiful skyscrapers, everything you'd look for in a city. Unfortunately those times are long gone and all that's left are ruins.

Whatever destroyed the city did its job; there is not a single remaining building in Fleet Town that remains erect. The streets are littered with the remains of buildings - blocks of cement, wood, and bricks are strewn about carelessly. The ground itself is cracked and potholed; the once-pristine cement streets and beautiful sidewalks are now serve as a dangerous hazard to anyone who attempts to walk on them, whether by tripping over the cracks or fallen building parts or falling into holes.

Months passed.

The trainers, faithful to their vow to rip each other apart, ahem, battle each other to the death, ahem, defeat, stood in the pouring rain, waiting. (A fight might have broken out a few times in the middle mostly because standing in the rain for long periods of time sucked and the idiot who ordered Rain Dance deserved a punch in the face or two).

The trainers did no leave even when Negrek set loose a whole crew of rampaging pokemon in what she called "a complete revision" in order to make ASB "better" or something; it's obvious that she just wanted to set loose her whole crew of a gazillion pokemon on the unsuspecting Asbers. To her credit, she did set up a pretty sweet PC system after the revision, but did she really had to grind the Registration Office to dust and then stand on top of it while laughing evilly?

After seemingly forever, the yellow tapes disappeared from Asber, and trainers once again flocked back in from all over T'Cod. Our trainers still stood faithfully by the arena, wondering when the hell the rain was going to stop it's been three months Arceus-damn it sres--

That was then their savior appeared. Its long bathrobe coat flapping behind it dramatically, the linoone entered the scene, holding its paws behind its back royally. A halo of light shone from the linoone's back, giving it a godly air, and everybody was too busy weeping with happiness to notice the flashlight it was holding behind it back.

The godly aura was promptly destroyed when Pathos tackle-glomped the referee into a puddle of mud.

Round 3

Niska just wanted the battle over with at this point. It's raining, it feels like it's been months, and he wanted to evolve, dammit. The wisps of ghostly energy hovering around his spherical body concentrated itself into a black sphere in front of him, and Niska shot it off at Ruin, hoping to destroy the baltoy or at least ruin its face for good. The attack hit -- right on the face, too -- and Ruin reeled back in shock, almost crashing into one of the sharper pieces of the ruins lying about it. The ghostly energy burned into the baltoy's face, not ruining it, per say, but still dealing a good damage nevertheless. Ruin seemed unfazed, however, and quickly began polishing itself on a nearby stone. Soon, its body was fit to be a mirror and glowing as brightly as the referee's flashlight (which wasn't saying much, seeing that the flashlight had landed in the mud and was spazzing out). Nenya took the rare time when she wasn't being attacked to relax her muscles, flexing her worm-like body.

Yet no matter how much they tried, the numbing Haze settling over the arena did its trick, and Nenya felt just as slow as before. The Haze also somehow made Ruin's rocky body rough again, although nobody could quite figure out how that worked.

Niska decided that it was time for some fun. With barely a "poof", the gastly melted into the pounding rain and floated behind Nenya. The dratini must have have felt something, because she shuddered visibly when the ghost entered her body. Nenya looked about suspiciously, trying to find the source of that weird feeling, but the only thing different was the veil of energy surrounding Ruin protectively, its faint glow painting the ruins green. Nenya dropped her Reflect and set up her own Safeguard in retaliation, in a very liberal sense of that word. The two pokemon stared off at each other through the rain, waiting for Niska to make his move.

The gastly, meanwhile, was using that little lull in actions to take a nap. He couldn't tell what the heck was going on outside of his host's body, but it was nice and comfortable here... The Haze was fading now, but Ruin still couldn't tell where that gastly was. Not realizing that his opponent had possessed the dratini, the baltoy humphed in annoyance and blasted the only pokemon in sight -- Nenya -- with a burst of psychic power. The glowing Light Screen vibrated as it absorbed the invisible energy, but Nenya still shuddered from the attack. She wasn't expecting the baltoy to attack her, after all. Speaking of which, where is that stupid ghost anyway? Sighing, trying to ignore the pain in her head and the uneasiness, Nenya relaxed and tried to gain back some energy. Keeping the duel glowing shields intact was starting to wear her out.

A long while of nothing happening later, Niska popped out of Nenya's body, as invisible as before. The heavy Haze that had been surrounding the arena was all but washed away by the rain now; whatever was left of it wasn't going to be a bother to the battlers anymore, at the very least.

Arena Notes
- Further ruined, if anything. Puddles are everywhere.
- Nenya’s Rain Dance is in effect (2 more actions).
- Niska’s Haze has faded by the end of the third action.

Notes:
- Nenya dismissed Reflect during the second action.
- Haze negated all stat boosts.
- Ruin attacked Nenya because it couldn't tell where Niska was.
- Nenya's Chill didn't restore as much energy because getting Extrasensory'd is not fun.

Other Notes
- Okay. I got this. Really. Also fixed the Chilling energy restoration, which had some calculation errors in them.
- Just a reference for the Pokémon’s base speeds, starting with the fastest: Niska, Ruin, Nenya.
- Ahhh phasing how does this work ;; Please tell me if I did something wrong again.
- Next round’s attacks: Pathos, sreservoir, Walker

How exactly did Ruin's psychic hit? Putting aside the fact that Pathos was inside a dratini and the psychic should have hit Nenya, Pathos was invisible when he phased into Nenya and Ruin really should not have known he was in there at all.

... Okay. I swear Niska wasn't invisible last time I checked ; ;

I will edit this sometime tomorrow because it is now too early in the morning to think straight.

Yay :D thanks again! I think Shadow didn't note his invisibility for some reason but I did order it like, first round. *shrugs* Anyhow.

Unfortunately BW gave us nearly nothing, and none of that is of use at the moment... but fortunately we had enough already, so. Let's Taunt Ruin now that the gravity's back to normal - if he protects, Substitute for 10%. Whatever happened, start siphoning health off Ruin with Giga Drain. If Ruin wasn't taunted and he protects the Giga Drains or you're unable to hit for some reason, Ice Punch Nenya instead. Keep moving around while you're attacking so that if you're hit, they still won't be sure where you are.

Taunt @ Ruin / Substitute (10%) ~ Giga Drain @ Ruin / Ice Punch @ Nenya x2

aa why did I overcomplicate that body mod so much. also gen 5 gave us nothing. I am saddened.

mimic that taunt, because taunt is so amazingly useful that I keep wanting it when I don't have it. then thunder wave and attract niska and hope walker doesn't do something crazy to screw this up.

mimic @ niska ~ thunder wave @ niska ~ attract @ niska.

Round 4

Still invisible, Niska cackled madly as he began his next phase of evil attacks -- that is, to piss Ruin off. Throwing around insults always made him feel better about himself. It has nothing to do with his self-esteem problems at all. Channeling his inner troll, Niska started bombarding Ruin with insults, telling the baltoy that it'll be forever alone and such. Despite the horrendous insults (the trainers were cringing at some of the stuff Niska came up with), Ruin seemed unfazed. The shimmering veil of energy around it seemed to have absorbed Niska's sound waves, rendering the Taunt nothing more than a weird garbling sound.

Nenya was keeping an eye on her ghostly opponent all the while. True, she couldn't actually see the gastly, but she could hear the insults loud and clear, even through the pattering rain (the gastly was really loud). Nenya stowed away some of the better ones in her memory for later use -- she could do with some new insults in her arsenal, that's for sure.

The weird garbling sound Ruin was hearing, while probably harmful to the baltoy if it heard the sound, provided the baltoy with a place to aim. Niska's continuous movement was annoying, but as long as it kept on talking, Ruin could pinpoint its location (with a margin of error, of course). Which was exactly what it did. Its slit-like eyes glowing, Ruin shot out a blast of psychic energy at what it hoped to be Niska's location.

The Extrasensory hit. The strange energy beam shocked Niska out of whatever he was supposed to do next, as the gastly's senses were suddenly overwhelmed by pain and a very unpleasant memory of his childhood (a horrifying event that made the poor gastly fear spaghetti and meatballs forever, but that's another story for another day). Nenya used this time to attack as well. The dratini, like the baltoy before her, shot out a burst of energy -- yellow sparks of electricity this time -- at what she hoped to be Niska's location, but, unlike the baltoy before her, the Thunderwave missed by a mile and had the trainers scrambling for cover.

Ruin still had a faint idea of where the gastly could be, and it fired off another Extrasensory in Niska's general direction. This time, the attack hit -- but barely, mostly because Ruin's aim was off (it was hard to hit an invisible opponent, after all, especially if that opponent was no longer making sounds but still moving all over the place). The psychic attack grazed the gastly's side, sending the (currently invisible) cloud of gas making up his body into turbulent flow. At the same time, the rain stopped. The clouds hovering overhead were still dense and dark, but rays of sunlight were already peeking through the gaps. Puddles of water glittered in the faint light, and I am going to stop describing the scenery before it gets too long.

Niska had recovered from the pain after the referee's rambling, and he continued his attacking plan -- that is, secretly steal health from Ruin like the ninja he was. Taking great care to move around even more now (those Extrasensory attacks were not pleasant), the gastly sucked out his opponent's life force, which materialized as little glowing green blobs and started floating towards him. Oh great, now everyone will know where he was... Niska finished his attack hurriedly, fearing that his opponents would see the glowing blobs and find out where he was. Again.

Meanwhile, Nenya decided to put her feminine wiles to the work. Curling her tail in the most fabulous way possible, she smiled a charming smile at where the invisible gastly's floating (the glowing blobs were giving him away). Winking bashfully, the dratini said a bunch of really gross and horribly corny things she would never ever ever say again, while staring soulfully into where she hoped to be Niska's eyes.

The effect was slightly ruined when Niska finished his Giga Drain and the glowing green blobs disappeared, and thus Nenya lost track of where the gastly was and spent a good few minutes talking into empty space, but the gastly was still greatly moved. Such beautiful prose! Not in as much pain as before and feeling a little better about himself after being praised by the dratini, Niska smiled toothily at Nenya, which everybody missed due to Niska being invisible.

Ruin wasn't about to let this round end without doing something of value. It was pretty sure the gastly was somewhere to the left, but it was hard to tell after the green blobs of health -- its health, dammit -- faded. Picking a direction at random, Ruin fired off another Extrasensory, only for it to miss completely. Dammit. Time to build RNGod shrines...

Round 5 Begin!

After more than two weeks with no sign of a referee, the signs finally look promising. A girl teleports in, recalls the league Reuniclus, and then explains briefly that she is the emergency referee, and then signals for the battle to (finally) resume.

Niska is the first to move, and he just loves her first command. He fades into visibility and then floats erratically over to Nenya, then with a sudden lunge, he intersperses himself throughout her person. Nenya gasps; it's a horrible feeling, to be possessed by a ghost. Ruin, who has been observing the situation, realizes that it's supposed to attack Niska, but because he's inside Nenya, that means it's going to have to attack her..? That sounds about right, and so he concentrates hard, becoming outlined in a pink glow, and then Nenya takes on the same glow, rising up into the air. Nenya flails and struggles, but can do nothing to return to the ground - it seems as though gravity has been turned off.

All this time, Nenya has been trying to puzzle through her trainer's commands. Suddenly, though, she decides ah, forget it, I'll just wing it and begins an attack: she contorts her tiny face and releases a horrible, ringing mass of sound, which flies towards Ruin, distorting the air as it goes. It hits, and explodes in a horrible ringing mass, which completely scrambles Ruin, who suddenly finds itself unable to think straight.

Niska is less pleased about his next command, but with a rush of feeling he realizes that this is a chance to unite their energy as one. Very little is visible as actual effects, barring Nenya contorting in pain, but inside her a portion of her energy is being sapped away, absorbed into Niska's gaseous cells.

By this point Ruin has just about cleared its head, though a ringing remains in the back of its mind. Still, it can manage its next attack: floating high into the air, it suddenly launches itself down towards Niska/Nenya. It comes barrelling in like a rocket, smashes into her and pulls the whole mess straight down to the ground, which they hit with a solid thump. Ruin floats away, satisfied with a job well done.

Nenya is getting annoyed now. This stupid Gastly, just swanning around in her body like she owns it; and worse, he's making that stupid clay-doll-thing attack her! Well, she's not going to stand for that; she begins charging up electricity inside her body, and she feels Niska trying to move away but he can't! Ahahaha! After a few seconds she ceases, but that few seconds is enough to leave electricity running through all of the gaseous cells interspersed throughout her being.

And Nenya quickly moves again, this time opting for self-defense: her eyes take on a green glow as a translucent shield of the same color forms in mid-air. At the same time, she seals her energy reserves off from Niska and his draining attack.

Which turns out to be a wise move, as it stands: the very next thing that happens is Niska's attempt to drain her energy away, which, thankfully, fails. Then, not a moment later, Ruin begins its attack: ramming itself into the ground repeatedly, it sends seismic waves rippling out in every direction, smashing up the town but simply snubbing themselves out on Niska's shield. As the attack ends, she lets the shield drop.

Suddenly, Niska feels another horrible sensation as the Gastly distributed throughout her body slides out. Once she stops feeling as though she's doused in ice-water, though, she feels much better, staring at the horrible Nenya.
