Arena: A Nice Garden
The Battle takes place in a nice garden. It's very green and well-kept, full of rose bushes and flowers and small trees and what have you. It's a good-sized garden, about 150 feet square. There is a large birdhouse in a clump of bushes in each corner, and bird Pokemon can be seen gathered there sometimes. A pond is in the top-left corner. There are no hazards here...except one.
A large white Gazebo is in the dead centre of the arena, and it's about 30 ft across, 15 ft high, with a pointed top. If it is hit with an attack, it will animate and start to attack the battlers. When animated, it resembles a white wooden dragon. It joins the battle with 50% health and 50% energy, is a Grass type, and can use the following attacks: Body Slam, Slash, Wood Hammer, Synthesis, Scratch, Headbutt, Crush Grip, Defense Curl, Giga Impact, Bulldoze, Quash, and Heavy Slam. It's base speed is 80, and it weighs 250 lbs. It acts on the Ref's orders.
Somewhere outside Asber, there lay a nice garden with pristine green grass, small colourful flowers, and strong saplings dotting the landscape. Quiet scuffling could be heard among the grass as rodents foraged for seeds and berries, and the racket of Pidgey fighting over a birdhouse filled the air. In the middle of the garden stood a large gazebo, completely unmoving and innocuous.
The peace could not last, however, as the owner of the garden had stupidly allowed two Asber trainers to duke it out on her property – no doubt she had no idea how fond Asber trainers were of wanton destruction. As two humans and one mechanical dragon strolled onto the arena, the chirping grew uneasy, and the rodents froze. The inhabitants of the garden grew even more alarmed as the Pokemon were sent out. They had little problem with the tiny Drilbur – he would just kick up dirt and leave holes in the garden, after all; nothing too serious – but the Quilava was the subject of many nervous stares. As the flames on her back leapt up, the bird Pokemon squawked forlornly as they gave premature goodbyes to the birdhouses, which would certainly fall victim to an all-consuming fire very, very soon.

Cyndra took a deep breath, inflating her chest with air, as the flames on her back roared even higher. The bird Pokemon hiding in the bushes screeched in alarm – surely the Quilava wouldn’t destroy their beloved garden so fast! Several Spearow and Pidove hid their quivering heads under their wings as Cyndra breathed out, thus missing the anticlimactic results: only a small, floating ball of flame was produced. Curiously, the fireball was a bright blue and, as Big Daddy was about to discover, very, very hot. The Will-o-Wisp struck the mole Pokemon in the side, searing skin and flesh and leaving a very tender spot. Big Daddy cried out in misery and pain.
There was little he could do about his burn, though, so he began to carefully sharpen his claws, trying to move his side as little as possible in the process. The Drilbur squeaked in pain a few times as his burn rubbed against his arm or a stray branch or something, but after a few moments his claws were satisfyingly sharp and shiny. Big Daddy flexed his oversized paws, ready to deal some damage.
Cyndra was not finished with her fire attacks, though. Her flames nearly tripled in size as she let out a low, menacing howl. The temperature of the air rose steadily. Bird and rodent Pokemon alike scattered, convinced now that Hell itself had paid their garden a visit. Big Daddy stood where he was, uncertain, until he realized that the beginnings of a great flame were being stoked right underneath him. He squealed and darted to the side, ignoring his protesting feet, just as an awesome pillar of flame shot into the sky. The towering inferno hissed and spat and crackled, but its fury was wasted, and Cyndra yowled in irritation at her near miss. Meanwhile, Big Daddy cowered a few meters away from the Inferno, paws covering his head. Wave after intense wave of heat buffeted him, and while it was terribly uncomfortable he figured it was much more preferable to actually being engulfed by the hungry flames. After a few moments, Cyndra became too exhausted to keep up the attack, and the flames fizzled away, leaving a black, ashy circle and dozens of traumatized garden-dwellers.
Once the Inferno died down, Big Daddy cautiously peered out from under his paws. Confirming that all was well, the Drilbur surrounded himself in a veil of dirt and began to run at his opponent at top speed (not very fast). About two thirds of the way there, he leapt into the air and dove at Cyndra claws-first, spinning like a top all the while. The Quilava made a respectable attempt to dodge, but she got a shoulder full of sharpened Drilbur claw anyway. She hissed in pain as her flesh was sliced and a shower of dust lodged into her new wounds.
Cyndra grimaced at her next command, but when she was Zora’s Pokemon it was a tactic she would have to employ sooner rather than later. Strange, though; Zora seemed to be convinced that she was attracted to a female Venonat she had battled before. Perhaps she was just meant to seduce every Pokemon alive. After shaking dust from her fur, Cyndra began to spew all sorts of nonsense while struggling to keep a straight face:
I didn’t think such a small Pokemon could be such a brave, fearsome fighter! You really are something! I really don’t have the heart to hurt you, my warrior. That Inferno? I charged it slowly so you could dodge. My trainer doesn’t have to know! Slowly, Big Daddy relaxed as the Quilava’s words sank into his brain. This Pokemon wouldn’t hurt him, right? She seemed right friendly. So friendly, in fact, that he couldn’t find the heart to hurt her, either. The Drilbur sat there contentedly and stared into Cyndra’s eyes, apparently completely forgetting that she had tried to fry him to a crisp mere minutes ago.
