Legendaryseeker99 vs Zhorken

..Why not? He didn't get attacked by Djalène at all this round, and I have it fade as the Pokemon is attacked by the one it's attracted to.

Djalène: Taunt Mercury, and then shut your eyes and ears and tune out the rest of the battle just in case Umbra tries to Taunt you and does better after watching you. Then, while you're doing that, try and get some Rest, and, of course, Chill while you're asleep.

Taunt @ Mercury ~ Rest ~ Chill

Val: Keep chillin'. Once you wake up, use Venoshock on Mercury. If that works, Chill again; otherwise, try again.

Chill ~ Venoshock @ Mercury ~ Chill / Venoshock @ Mercury

What's the current speed order?
I think I remember seeing one posted in an earlier round, but I can't seem to find it.

Umbra, jump in front of Mercury and shield him from the Taunt, taking it onto yourself. Then, as soon as the Taunt is over, Eat Valicorth's Dreams, sapping his Energy. Then, do the same to Vulpix twice. You aren't hurting her, just borrowing some of her Energy. I'm sure she won't mind, and you'll get to see what her dreams are like.

Shield Mercury from Taunt+Dream Eater @Valicorth~Dream Eater @Vulpix X2

Mercury, hide behind Umbra and cover your ears or otherwise block out the Taunt. As soon as it's over, Night Slash Valicorth three times.

Hide behind Umbra and block out the Taunt+ 3X NIGHT SLASH COMBO @Valicorth not all at once...

Round four

Djalène wastes no time in putting her new found ability to use, and she grabs Mercury’s attention by flinging out insults at him. Umbra jumps a little as he hears her jeering, and he hastily tries to get in Mercury's way before he can react.
However, the Litwick’s movement is still painfully slow compared to the other battlers, even with the boosts from his flames, and Mercury's ears are already perking up. Umbra makes a half-hearted attempt to get in front of Mercury, but the furious Oshawott just shoves past him, snarling angrily. He can hardly believe what that stuck up Vulpix just came out with! He wants nothing more than to teach her a lesson, but she's not the one he's been ordered to attack... well, at least he can vent his anger out on her team-mate.

Mercury is still glowering even as his form slowly disappears into the shadows. Djalène’s smirk fades a little and she looks around uneasily, wondering where he's got to.
When Mercury reappears again, he leaps out of nowhere, shrouded in shadowy energy as delivers a slash at the sleeping Venipede with his claws. Valicorth gives a sleepy sounding squeak and rolls over, his legs wriggling sluggishly.
As the shadows around him fade away, Mercury lands smoothly on the ground, but he quickly ends up doubled over from the pain of his burns. It's affecting his ability to deliver the punishing strike he so badly wants to dish out, which only adds to his growing frustration.

Umbra gives a nervous glance over at his fuming team-mate, feeling a little relived that he didn’t target Djalène. Of course, the second he’s ordered to go for her, he’s definitely going to seize the chance…
Trying to push that troublesome thought to the back of his mind, Umbra turns towards the sleeping Venipede. Valicorth is mumbling something in his sleep, but otherwise seems to have made himself comfortable again, and now appears pretty chilled out. Umbra stays perfectly still, then begins to draw upon his psychic powers, and his yellow eyes begin to glow a bright pink. Psychic attacks are ever so subtly different from the ghostly types he specializes in, but he quickly manages to get the hang of it, and he manages to get a hold of the sleeping bug’s mind. Valicorth freezes up, then suddenly begins to mutter and twitch as Umbra draws upon his dreams, converting them into nourishing energy for himself.

Djalène glances warily at Umbra as she tries to make herself comfortable, and she curls up tightly on the ashen ground. It takes a little while before she can settle into the healing trance, as she's still feeling pretty chipper, but she eventually manages to drift off, and a soft blue glow surrounds her body. It washes over her, healing the small cuts and scrapes on her shiny fur, and Umbra watches in fascination, hardly able to believe her coat could become any more beautiful...

Valicorth on the other hand, abruptly jolts up, wide awake and looking disorientated. He blinks rapidly and gives himself a few quick shakes to rid himself of any lingering drowsiness. He was having a lovely dream where he was nibbling on some Sewaddle’s leaves, but then… he suddenly felt as though his vitality was being drained away. He shudders a little, then tries to concentrate on getting himself back into the battle.

He can feel some fresh claw marks on his hide, and he has little doubt about who made them, so now is as good a time as any for some payback. He turns his attention to Mercury, noting that the Oshawott certainly appears to be more er, highly strung than usual. Val cautiously scampers a little closer, then spits out a corrosive jet of venom, spraying Mercury in the chest. He gives a screech of pain as the poison soaks into his coat, mingling with the toxins already in his system to create a potent mix.

Grimacing in disgust and pain, Mercury tries to wipe off the worst of the sludge, all the while desperately fighting the wave of nausea threatening to overpower him. As he slowly raises his head again, a striking blue aura suddenly flares to life around him. Valicorth looks on a little uneasily at the display, but he isn’t left with much to look at for long. Soon enough, Mercury has melted into the shadows again, his bright blue form disappearing completely.

Valicorth’s antennae twitch madly as he scans his surroundings, but Mercury manages to catch him by surprise, and he delivers another swift clawing as he bursts from the shadows. Valicorth gives a squeal as he’s sent rolling over, and his legs wriggle frantically as he hastily rights himself again.

Even with all this chaos going on, Umbra is still staring dazedly at Djalène, admiring the dozing Vulpix. His trainer's words are still echoing in the back of his mind, but he isn't paying them any heed right now.

Mercury isn’t paying attention to his team-mate’s lack of action however, as he’s far too intent on taking out his frustration. All these physical attacks are aggravating his burns, but it feels good just to be attacking something. It’s extremely tempting to just ignore his orders and slash the sleeping Vulpix instead – she is an easy target after all. On the other hand, Valicorth is just sitting there as well, trying to make himself comfortable on the ash-coated ground, so he reluctantly decides to stick to his trainer’s plan.

As Valicorth curls himself up and tries to block out his surroundings for the moment, Mercury slowly disappears into the shadows again. He reappears behind Valicorth, and bursts forward to deliver another vicious slash with his claws. Valicorth cringes as a fresh cut appears on his hide, but he manages to avoid falling over this time. It's painful, but he can take comfort from the fact that his opponent looks much worse off. The Oshawott still looks livid, and the bright blue aura around him is pretty intimidating, be he's definitely flagging badly. His breathing is ragged and he looks like he can barely muster up the strength to stand.

The movement seems to have finally jolted Umbra out of his love-addled stupor, and he looks around guiltily. His partner is too immersed in anger to pay much attention to him though, so at least he doesn’t have to deal with any glares from him. Still, now that he’s actually taking the time to think about his trainer’s words… the thought of delving into Djalène’s dreams is pretty tempting. They probably taste fantastic! Besides, he’d only take a little bit of energy, certainly not enough to cause her any real harm…

Umbra begins to concentrate, and his eyes light up with an eerie pink glow. Djalène begins to twitch a little in her sleep as Umbra taps into her mind and steals her thoughts, and she kicks out a few times before she settles down again. Umbra smiles delightedly as he tastes the small dream sample – it’s just like lava flavoured cotton candy!

Battle notes

- None of the night slashes were critical hits. The RNG is being stingy today.
- Taunt is a sound based attack, I don't see how jumping in front of someone would "shield" them from it.
- Uh, just in case you're wondering - Dream eater is doing pitiful damage thanks to the special attack drops. (5 to Val and only 1 to Djalène) Burns also halve the damage done by physical moves.
- Legendaryseeker99 attacks first.

I missed that part in your post, probably because I was tired when I was finishing this up. I'm going to say that taunt still worked though, as Vulpix is still faster and taunt can be used quickly. I'll fix the battle description later.

Wow, I totally forgot about this.

MERCURY, WE GOTTA GO OUT WITH A BANG.
3X HYDRO PUMP ON VULPIX.
If Tormented, switch it up with Frustration. If Vulpix Protects, Scald Valicorth.

HYDRO PUMP @Vulpix/Scald @Valicorth~HYDRO PUMP/Frustration @Vulpix/Scald @Valicorth~HYDRO PUMP/Frustration@Vulpix/Scald @Valicorth

Umbra, Attract Vulpix if you can. If you are Taunted or Vulpix uses Imprision, use Flame Charge on Valicorth. Then, use Imprision, unless Taunted/Imprision, which then Flame Charge. Finally, Psychic Valicorth into the lava if you can.

Attract @Vulpix/Flame Charge @Valicorth~Imprision/Flame Charge @Valicorth~Psychic @Valicorth

Djalène: Chill, then Imprison when you wake up, and then Disable Umbra's Flame Charge. If, somehow, Flame Charge isn't the last thing Umbra used at that point, use Taunt instead.

Chill ~ Imprison ~ Disable @ Umbra/Taunt @ Umbra

Val: Mercury's just outside of the one-hit range, and he's about to exhaust himself anyway, so we can ignore him. Chill once, then shoot a Venoshock at Umbra. Then wait until he starts levitating you, and shoot another Venoshock to break his concentration—he probably won't have that great a hold at -4 special attack.

Round five

The furious Mercury is somewhat cheered up when he hears his next commands; he more than happy to drench that hateful Vulpix. He snarls and takes a few shaky steps forward, his gaze set on his immobile foe.
He’s feeling completely terrible, but he has no intentions of going down without a fight. He takes a deep breath, and the blue aura around him flashes brightly as he unleashes a high-pressure torrent of water at the sleeping Vulpix. The powerful jet rushes forward, spraying the ashen ground in ice-cold water as it goes, but ultimately falls short of its target. Mercury gives a cry of frustration as it instead soaks the ground right next to Djalené, leaving behind a large clump of sodden ash. Djalène remains comfortably curled up and relaxed, oblivious to her near miss.

Umbra can’t help but feel relived as he sees the powerful water attack miss; that looked downright nasty, and Arceus only knows the damage it would have done to Djalené’s shiny coat.
As eager as he is to try and win Djalené’s affections, it doesn’t look like he’s going to have much luck at the moment, so he reluctantly turns his attention to Valicorth. He certainly has no love for that irritating bug, and he appears to be just sitting there idly, so he’s an easy target. Umbra narrows his eyes, and the flame atop his head flares up, coating his small form in a blazing shroud of fire.

He hurtles forward with a loud yell, startling the relaxing Valicorth out of his daydreams. Val cringes as he sees the fiery ghost heading straight for him, and gives a cry of pain as Umbra collides with him, singeing his hide with the angry flames. As Umbra backs off again, he can feel himself growing more limber, and he slides around happily as he shows off his new-found speed. No more moving at Slugma’s pace for him.

Djalené begins to twitch vigorously in her sleep, before she groggily raises her head and lets out a loud yawn. She slowly picks herself up again, blinking rapidly as she tries to fully waken herself, and stretches out her legs. That was an enjoyable nap, but it’s time to get down to business now…
She quickly scans her surroundings, trying to take in all that’s happened while she was resting. Quite a bit apparently. She closes her eyes and begins muttering the same arcane chant she recited earlier in the battle, casting a spell over both her opponents. A red glow shimmers into life around her, slowly drifting out towards Umbra and Mercury, where it encases both unwitting Pokémon in its faint light.

Val winces as he picks himself up, gingerly checking the fresh scorch marks on his hide. He’s certainly going to enjoy spitting another glob of acid in that stupid ghost’s face. Umbra’s triumphant smile quickly vanishes when Valicorth does just that, and he gives a wail of pain as the vile mixture burns into his skin.

Umbra groans and sways on the spot, feeling a wave of nausea threaten to overtake him. His vision is starting to blur, and he’s finding it horribly difficult to concentrate. It takes him a few moments to properly recall his commands, but he eventually shrouds himself in another coat of blazing as he prepares to charge again.

Valicorth cringes and scuttles backwards, but he is once again bowled over by the blazing Umbra, and lands in a scorched heap. Umbra shakily backs off as he watches the burnt bug writhe about, and tries to steady himself as he gets used to his new-found speed.

Mercury is in the same boat as his partner, only worse off; everything is an effort for him right now, and even his rage is starting to fizzle out. He staggers about desperately, trying to get a clear shot, and shoots another high-pressure jet of water at Djalené. The wide-awake Vulpix gives a yelp of surprise as she sees the powerful blast of water hurtling towards her, but once again, Mercury’s aim falls short, and the ground next to her is completely soaked.

Djalené breathes a sigh of relief and edges away from the sodden patch of ground. She then spares a concerned glance over at her partner, who is looking a little bit toasty. Lucky for him, her current orders will spare him from any more fiery pain. Hopefully. She focuses her attention on the silly, love-addled ghost, and her eyes glow a light purple as she delves into his mind with her psychic abilities. Umbra freezes up in surprise as Djalené invades his mind and meddles with his knowledge, temporality messing with his memory.

Valicorth wriggles back to his feet again, shaking his head and grumbling to himself. His body is feeling tender and painful again with all this fire, but he’s far from out. It’s certainly not as bad as being dumped in lava at least. He looks warily over at Umbra, who looks sick and somewhat puzzled. He’s suddenly gained a bit of headache, and he can’t help but feel that part of his mind has been… barricaded off or something. Still looking a little anxious, he gradually turns his attention over to Valicorth, preparing to toss him in for another swim.

He closes his eyes and tries his best to block out all the distractions as he focuses on tapping into his psychic abilities. It isn’t easy, especially with the frequent waves of nausea that threaten to overtake him. The poison in his system is only getting worse, but there’s not much he can do about it now, and he must focus on attacking.
Eventually, an aura of purple energy surrounds him, and when he opens his eyes, they’re glowing with the same vivid light. The shimmering purple aura gradually reaches out towards Valicorth, coating the bug in the same glow. Valicorth gives a frightened squeak as his feet leave the ground, and he’s left dangling close to earth as Umbra struggles to maintain his mental grip. Umbra’s attention appears somewhat divided; he’s angry at Val for all the disgusting poison he’s blasted him with this round, but he’s still caught up with Djalené. As a result, the Litwick’s technique is very clumsy, and Valicorth is left bobbing up and down as Umbra struggles to fling him into the lava.

Valicorth wriggles frantically in the air, hissing indignantly. He quickly decides he’s had quite enough of this, and he spits another potent spray of purple poison at Umbra, catching him right in the face. Umbra gives a shriek of pain as the venom sinks into his skin with a loud hiss. The nasty surprise is more than enough to disrupt Umbra’s concentration, especially since it was so poor to begin with, and Valicorth drops to the ground as the aura surrounding him abruptly blinks out. He gives a muffled grunt as his feet hit solid ground again, but is unhurt by the short fall.

Mercury is feeling completely burnt out now; his rage had faded away, and he's left feeling tired, hopeless and frustrated. He half-heatedly raises his head, quivering with the effort, and shoots off one last high-pressured jet of water. It blasts through the cloud of ash raining down, further drenching the ground as it goes, and this time, it strikes its mark. Djalené gives a horrified yelp as the water forcefully blasts her backwards, engulfing her in icy water and leaving her soaked. She's left drenched and shivering, her fur looking bedraggled and her tails drooping.

Unfortunately for Mercury, he doesn't even get to savour the success; as the last hydro pump took everything he had left. He weaves about, looking dazed and listless, before finally thumping to the ground. Djalené snarls furiously at the fainted Oshawott, taking grim pleasure in his defeat, but also feeling somewhat annoyed that she didn't get to finish him off herself. At least she's in a warm place where she can dry off easily.

You're very optimistic. =P Also, the ash reduces accuracy by a further 10%.

Did one of the Venoshocks crit? o.o I wasn't expecting Umbra to hit the cap.

Djalène: Time to be a jerk! Set up a 10% Sub, and then use Hex on Umbra twice. If he raises his evasion or lowers your accuracy, switch Hex to Faint Attack.

Substitute (10%) ~ Hex/Faint Attack @ Umbra ×2

Valicorth: Protect against any Pain Splits. If one of Djalène's Hexes fails for whatever reason and you're not protecting, help her out with a Venoshock, assuming that wouldn't just fail too due to Umbra using Protect or something. Otherwise, you can Chill all round.

Protect/Venoshock @ Umbra/Chill ×3

The venoshocks did 30% damage, so he hit the cap after the poison kicked in.
