2v2 single
Style: Set
DQ: 168 hours.
Damage Cap: 35%
Banned Moves: OHKOs
Arena: Doctor Kaminko's Experimental Arena Number 11
The good doctor has staged several battles in other arenas (usually in Arena Number 44), but this time he decided to let his test subjects use this arena, due to the technology's high tolerance for electromagnetic signals. The gimmick here is the doctor's recent new device; we're testing it out for him, you see.
The device is over in the corner, protected by a one-way force field. Said device, which has yet to be named but has thus far been built as “Project Memory”, is rather special. It sends out a special electromagnetic wave, the effect of which is quite severe; it essentially resets the memory of someone caught in it for the duration of its effect. Now, this can give humans amnesia for a day or two (but that's why the battlers will be sitting outside watching through electromagnetic wave-proof glass), but its effect on Pokémon is quite different.
For the duration of the battle, the machine will send out its electromagnetic signal at both of the battlers. This signal will erase any moves and techniques from their memories, except for the ones they were born with.
The arena itself is quite straightforward, with no gimmicks.
Other: All pokémon participating can ONLY use moves that they had access to in the generation in which they were introduced. For instance, Croagunk can only use the moves it had in Generation IV, while something like Exeggutor can only use moves from Generation I (like no Seed Bomb or anything). This includes signature moves, which all have no effect for the entire battle, as well as signature attributes which were not there when the pokémon was born (e.g. blindness stays, but [example: Crazy Linoone's Death Cannon's Broadband High-Speed Internet Connection] has no effect).

- Wondering why the weird shiny thing stopped twirling.
Pika smiles playfully as he waits for those big boxes to start speaking again; he runs forward, jabs Drilbud a few times, then scurries away. Careful to avoid those pointy spikes he jumped over before, the Pichu hops excitedly around the Ferroseed, though not before he mumbles a few more encouraging words about that "cool glowing thing" she did. Drilbud stands stoically in the middle of the dome, her green-and-yellow eyes unblinking as Pika giggles and ambles away; suddenly, he notices the sound of someone clearing their throat. He plops down onto the ground, ears pricked, as Drilbud stares intently into a speaker. The Pichu grins evilly as the stadium is bathed in a sea green.
Pika closes his eyes with a pretended air of solemnness, raising his paws up as the floor beneath him starts to glow, and then the Pichu pauses, looking confused. Peeping out of the smallest crack in his eyelids, he sighs in relief as dark beige orbs of energy start to pop out of the ground; he thought he had done something wrong for a moment there. Suddenly, the spheres rush toward Pika, covering him in a dome of light, and then, the dome explodes and flattens into an expanding ring. Drilbud, however, is as impassive as ever, eyes betraying no hint of emotion.
The Ferroseed thinks for a moment. Though to her it was quite obvious Pika didn’t care for her spiky points, she rather liked that feeling of being stronger and pricklier. As she tries to relax, though, something similar to a muscle spasm courses through her, and a wave of panic washes through her mind. Did she do something wrong? Did she lose control of the dark energy?
By the time Drilbud has regained her bearings, though, Pika has already started frolicking across the floor, jumping and dancing and twirling. Lost in pure joy and happiness, the Pichu fails to notice his dancing hasn’t done anything yet. As he pauses to catch his breath, he looks up to admire his progress; wide-eyed, Pika resumes his cavorting with vigor. This time, a faint aquamarine light flickers into life around him, and suddenly, water crashes down from the sky, covering the floor with a growing layer of sloshing water. Pika smiles and spins around once more; he isn't quite used to the water, though, and trips into the pond. Embarrassed, he picks himself up with a sheepish grin.
Despite her misfortunes and currently aching body, Drilbud could have smiled at the Pichu’s ridiculous display. Settling down a bit, she summons a dark cloud of light to surround her as her cells kick-start their growth yet again; perhaps the Pichu’s Encore hasn’t completely worn off by now, as she looks immensely proud at her newfound power.
Pika bites his lip. Despite his trainer’s certainity, he can’t help but think that even if he could summon that raging downpour, no one could bring a sky-splitting lightning bolt. Orders were orders, though, and with his eyebrows creased with worry, he brings his arms upward, pleading to whoever controlled the sky, and then swings them down dramatically in Drilbud’s direction. Just as expected, though, no pain-bringing strike slams into the Ferroseed. Disappointed, Pika plops down with a splash.
By now, Drilbud would be rolling around with laughter, if not for her paralysis. Focusing on her bright yellow target as if she were aiming at a faraway fly, she spins around in a flurry of spikes and metal, firing barrage after barrage of sharp thorns into Pika. The Pichu cringes after each increasingly painful volley; by the time the Ferroseed has stopped whirling around, Pika is covered in cuts and blood.

Arena Notes: The weather-generator is spewing out water everywhere, continuing for two more rounds; it is also gradually flooding the dome. There is also a pile of Toxic Spikes in the corner; though they won't deal damage, they will inflict light to very severe poisoning if burst. They will not inflict increasing poison, however. Other than that, Project Memory and its shield is off to the side of the dome.
Notes:
- Drilbud parafailed action one.
- Really can’t see Thunder happening in this arena, sorry (incidentally, it cost half of what they would have cost).
- Bullet Seed hit four times, with no crits.
- Sorry for the long wait, guys.
- Superbird orders first.
